Let me begin by saying, we love the food at King Crust. We are loyal consistent customers. This evening we are shocked at the lack of customer service we have received. Calling after a delayed orders did not arrive after two hours placed and being challenged with proof of an online order is very unusual. After challenging the original online order, acknowledging it did exist and then come back with the lame excuse "Our ovens are not working and the pizza maker does not work here often" could be humorous if they were not so pathetic. The final insulting insinuation was a staff member calling back and leaving a message that the wrong phone number was given WHEN a reoccurring account was used! I went here because I saw that they had gluten free pizza. I was super excited about it. I ordered a plan cheese and my sister ordered the brocoli chicken. Hers was delicious! Such good flavor! The cheese pizza was nothing special but I wouldn't get it again. $19 for a 12inch gluten free pizza is kinda steep but it was good. I also ordered their fries.... I wouldn't get that again. They were cold and mushy and the cheese was from a can. I will say that they have great customer service and are super friendly. Everyone raves about their Buffalo chicken pizza. When I tell you this place is so good, I mean it! I am a big bread and dough lover, and every time this place never disappoints . Don't get me started on the Nan lol, if I didn't worry about carbs I would eat one everyday. Even reheating and eating the pizza, nan, etc, everything tastes just as it was delivered! I am obsessed with King Crust! This review is based off delivery only as I've never been to the actual store. We order delivery often. I have had pizza & wings several times, fries, Italian hoagie, chicken parm hoagie, a few different salads & honestly, I have not had a single bite that I did not like! I wish I would have discovered this place sooner. I absolutely love the spicy sauce option for pizza. It's not super hot, but the perfect amount of kick. The Buffalo wings are a must! Then, be sure to dip your pizza crust in the wing sauce! Yum! And I don't know what it is about their fries, but I can't place an order without getting them! They also have the "good ranch". If you are a ranch fan, you'll know what I mean by that. Delivery is easy online through their website and usually arrives in a reasonable time. Delivery fee is $1 for me, totally doable. Pricing for the food is pretty average. They have coupons online you can use for your order to save a few bucks on certain things, so be sure to check out the deals. King Crust saved my day! I'm currently on a work trip in Pittsburgh where my whole team only has access to one vehicle, and we are working mostly on foot. Anyhow, I was a hungry, thirsty and sweaty mess when I came upon King Crust. I had a Tuscan chicken half toasted hoagie and it was plenty filling and delicious. Lots of chicken and good quality tomatoes. The service really stood out here.. The younger man working the front counter was super helpful and sweet and allowed me to use his phone charger. It's so nice to come across this when it seems to be a dying thing. Also, you would think the restaurant had just opened or was recently renovated because it was spotlessly clean, including the restroom. We will be in Pitts for a few more days and I'm hoping to bring my whole team to try the wings or even get a delivery to our hotel. read more

It is all around solid pizza - good crust, sauce and high-quality toppings. The portions also feel good for the price. What I really like at King Crust is the sandwiches and wraps. Haven't been in this area in sometime so I thought I would give this place a try. Set right in the middle of a construction zone-yes those orange barrels are out again, you have just enough space to "squeeze through" two of those cone heads if you are heading away from St Clair hospital towards Scott Twp. Situated in the former "Life is sweet" bakery cafe, the parking hasn't changed so it is easy for people to "double park" behind one another as was my case. Take out is available and you can order ahead of time online if you prefer. Once inside the setup is similar to the "Life is sweet" cafe. There are tables in front and some in the back along with reading material. Free WiFi is available. Passcode given upon request. I thought I would take advantage of the lunch pizza special since you get two slices of cheese pizza for just under $5.00 which includes a canned beverage or water. I asked about toppings and learned that any topping from the board can be ordered for an additional $.50 each. I asked about the choice of crusts. I was told that with the special all I was entitled to was the traditional crust. If you want the whole wheat or multigrain then you would have to purchase a whole pie. The smallest size has 6 cuts which is way too much for me. So I thought I would try the special and go from there. Yes, there are gluten free options available as well as vegetarian. No vegan here. I placed my order and got it fairly quickly even though the place was packed with kids and young adults. I ordered the two slices with mushrooms and green peppers. The portion sizes were very generous but I could tell by tasting it that it may have been microwaved. The pizza was okay but not anything special that I would go out of my way for. It just reminded me of those take out chains (which I had previously noted you can do here) and is probably good for just that. The two slices were more than enough for me. Didn't need a salad nor did I want to try a hoagie. Staff was friendly and pleasant but I didn't see how to dispose of my leftovers so I took it back to the counter and the clerk took it off my hands. It is convenient to St Clair Hospital but dealing with both construction and parking can be a nightmare. If you are happy with those big box pizza places and delivery service then I'm sure you won't be disappointed here. read more

Stopped back for a second try, and this time I tried a Cheese Steak Hoagie on regular bread (the wife got a veggie hoagie on gluten-free bread again), and I thought the hoagie was O.K., but not that great. I was pretty disappointed that the tomatoes they used were very unripe. Also, the hoagie itself didn't have a ton of flavor (I added mayo (which they do have available in packets) plus a lot of salt and pepper to try and give it a little more taste). I've tried, many times, to like his place but the mistakes and time spent waiting for food is just too much. That being said, the pizza is good, but that is never enough when you eat out. The most glaring mistakes were for takeout orders. The first time, we got a completely wrong specialty pizza and they didn't even try to make the situation better. The second time was A delivery order was an HOUR late and when I called to see how much longer, they were rude. And finally (during Covid), I left my house for takeout 10 minutes after the order was supposed to be ready. When I got there, three people were waiting and the worker told me that he didn't know how much longer the wait would be. The third time was probably the most understandable because of Covid , but I can't imagine giving them yet another chance. Roll the dice and don't believe the?time frame that they give you. Ordered online for delivery and the estimate provided at confirmation was 45 minutes. At 1 hour 20 minutes we called to check on the order. First we were told that it was still being prepared. Then a manager tells us that it is already out of delivery. No apology, no offer to make it right. The food finally arrived at 1 hour 50 minutes. Funny story -- we ordered online from this place as we were told Crust had terrific pizza in the area. Turns out that is a different place entirely and this place is newer. Once we found it to pick up our order, though, we were very pleased! You could tell from the online ordering options that this was a different pizza experience; I've lost a significant amount of weight over the past six months and primarily eat wheat and whole grain when I do carbs, and they had a whole grain crust, which you just don't see very often, along with a gluten-free option. I loaded up half of the pizza with veggies -- they have a lot of nice options, including fresh basil -- and kept the other half cheese only. I found the base cost of the pizza to be on the high side, but was delighted to see they were only charging half the topping price if you got a topping on half the pizza, which is unusual but honestly the only fair way to do it. The thin crust with veggies was unique and delicious. ever so slightly on the dry side, which didn't surprise me for whole grain, but the side of ranch they threw in for no charge helped with that. All of the ingredients were clearly quality and we will certainly visit again. read more

More like king bust. We ordered a pizza, which was OK, and a hoagie which was also OK. Then we got some breadsticks and they were terrible. Typically I just let this kind of stuff go or whatever, but A) it was our first time eating their food and B), in this case, it was just not very good at all and I couldn't justify paying six bucks for something that I took one bite of. Reluctantly, I called to see if I could get a refund for the sticks, politely stating that two of the items were ok, but when doing so, I misspoke and referred to my hoagie as a "calzone." The guy who answered the phone acted incredulous and as though he was infallible. He started questioning me, first saying - in a tone that was skeptical AF - "What was wrong with the breadsticks?" I told him they were dry and tasteless. Then he said, "hmm, I don't remember making any calzones (implying I was lying)." I then read him every line item on the receipt said "Sorry man, I misspoke- i meant to say hoagie, not calzone." Begrudgingly and after a super-long pause, he said "Bring them back, I guess." Then he hung up on me. No "goodbye," let alone a "Sorry man, we will make it right." After I sat on it for a second, I called him back and said "keep your six bucks - I'll throw these in the trash where they belong." I told him to pound sand. Below is a pic of the super burnt and tasteless breadsticks - all of which are in the box. A subsequent picture shows all of them still in the box (I.e. uneaten because they were so very bad) in the trashcan. I will not go back to this place because mediocre pizza, cardboard sticks and asshole customer service are not worth $40, in my humble opinion. Pro tip for mgmt: not everyone is out to get you and most people don't like having to ask for a refund on sub-par food. Next time you're given an opportunity to make it right, at least try to fake a sense of understanding, embrace the failure - perceived or real - and remember that age-old adage that the customer is always right. read more

Ordered several times and can say the sandwiches are good but just can't get into the pizza. I find the dough soft and chewey with absolutely no body whatsoever. Very little sauce and sparse on the toppings. Also, I don't care for the burnt bubbles. Maybe the bubble thing is some kind of signature thing but to me it's lazy cooking and visually unappealing. In the end it's all subjective and a matter of preference. Pricing is about what you would expect these days. Overall, this is middle of the road food and not the worst choice you could make.
