    Indoor at Moodz....

So this Illy Philly is headed to a work meeting, and I needed some vegan goodness in my life. I stopped at Moodz because I'm so excited that they now serve vegan Wings, vegan Steak Rolls, vegan Chix wraps & sandwiches, Vegan Shrimp Po' Boys, and vegan Fish sandwiches!!!! What is this whole vegan loveliness?!!!!!! They also had some fabulous dessert items for very vegan treats like Strawberry Crunch cupcakes, Banan Nut Muffins, Cinnamon Crumb muffins, and the cutest little Apple Pies!!!! I ordered the Vegan Steak Rolls and baaabbyyyyyy, what!!!!! Soooo good!!!! If you need breakfast, a smoothie, lunch, or just a treat, and you're vegan, gluten-free, and leaning towards organic, make it over to Carson St. on the Southside and get into it. It's a Mood....

It's the PORTIONS for me... The food I tried was delicious! I tried the pasta salad, fsh sandwich, steak sandwich, and buffalo chicken fries over the course of a few visits. Pasta salad was a bit sweet for my taste, but to each their own. With the world we live in (higher costs and less product), I assumed the portions would be great. Trust me - you won't leave hungry. Great vegan option, especially for this city!

Once again the food was absolutely amazing. The loaded fries are the best. The fries by themselves are great, but you throw all this great stuff on it and it takes it over the top. The inside of this place is great and if the weather wasn't so nice i would've eaten inside. The guy that helped us could've been a tad nicer. It seemed like we were bothering him a little but it might have been a long day. Regardless of that, I'll be back. Another thing to keep in mind, you can't change make any substitutions. You'll have to buy a side sauce. Great stuff though.

Moodz is exactly what southside needed!! Killer smoothies and bowls! Love the cute atmosphere and decor. The guy working was so awesome and very helpful in crafting the best smoothie bowl possible. I can't wait to try everything on the menu!!

Cool new smoothie/juice bar in South Side. The decorations are super cool. Love the Funko figures and basketball hoop...what a fun place to drop in and have a smoothie. I tried the PB &J smoothie bowl. It was pretty good, but I think the chocolate chips should be shavings instead because they got very hard in the smoothie. Also some consistency on the menu would have been helpful. The smoothie bowl said to choose toppings, but the toppings were labeled as boosts on the menu. Also, maybe grouping the fruits and vegetables separately would help the avocado, kale and spinach from getting lost in the huge list of fruit.

Moodz Co. new local spot for fresh juices, smoothies & smoothie bowls! Located on East Carson street in the South Side. Delicious fresh product! I recommend the 777- all the berries!!!!

Parking is metered on Carson or side streets. Very friendly and helpful staff. The mango smoothie was refreshing. I can't wait to go back and try a bowl!

So excited to try Moodz smoothies and smoothie bowls. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. I loved the colorful vibe of the decor. One of my favorite parts besides the smoothie was signing my name on the wall. I got the N7 smoothie and got another in a smoothie bowl to go. It was delicious and reminded me of cinnamon crunch cereal. Definitely a must see smoothie and juice bar to check out when you are in the Southside.

This business is a mess. I've dined in, gotten take out and delivery, and each time there was a major problem with my order. They regularly close up to two hours early with no warning and no explanation. The menu inside the store is never updated or accurate, and the menu online is so screwed up it shows half the items as out of stock (some are, some aren't) and the other half of the items are actually out of stock, but are shown as in-stock. I ordered the golden BBQ chickn sandwich, banana pudding, and macaroni salad through their website, which requires a $25 minimum order and an EIGHT dollar service fee. An absolute racket. My food showed up 2.5 hours later, and I only received the sandwich. I called them to ask where my other two items were, and the guy just said "our website is messed up, but we refunded you for the items you didn't get." They hadn't. Two days later, the refund finally came through. But I still paid $26 for a sandwich, which was so overly smothered in sauce it was a dripping, soggy mess and almost inedible. I've given this place 4 chances now and they have never redeemed themselves. Never again.

I have been searching for local juice/smoothie bars and this how I discovered Moodz Co. which located on the Southside. I'm so glad I found this place, it's a black-owned business as well. The colors that pops out at you when you walk in this place and that's what caught my eye immediately. They have cool art work that's on the wall which are great for photos. The owner was so nice and took the time to tell me about his business. I purchased the mango smoothie which was so delicious. I would highly recommend you to visit Moodz Co. it's worth it and I can't wait to return.

Friendly staff and delicious and refreshing smoothie. I got the Guava Mama on the recommendation from the staff. It wasn't too sweet (which I liked) and had lots of fresh fruit. I will definitely be back again with my son, who is vegan, and will love how big the vegan selection is there.

Apteka. This was perfect for my wife, who is vegan. An all vegan Eastern-European eatery. Great weather added to the ambience. Plenty of plants in the background. We had a foursome with my friend and his husband. Apteka offers a service where you place your orders at the bar, and they come bring the food to you when it's ready. We started off with Hungarian fried bread (Langos) and then followed it with Salatka ziemniaczana. Potato salad with greens. Entree we had the pierogis. I mean, we Had to, back in Pittsburgh. Only thing missing was the cookie table but the dessert was great as well. Everything was comforting and filling. Plenty for us two. They had a special collab beer with 2 Frays, a brewery that is really solid. Was just starting off when I was leaving Pittsburgh 5 years ago and now has been pretty popular in Bloomfield. Overall, Apteka offers fine dining, inspired dishes with a vegan twist, and is a must. Reservations are a must as dining is limited to the weekend.

This resulted in a chaotic atmosphere at the two places where you could order food and constantly having to get up from your table every time you needed something. The staff essentially became food runners and they were not very pleasant. We were told that we could not have an appetizer followed by our main course as "food comes out as it's ready." With the bar being backup up, this meant we received some apparently pre-made food even before our drinks arrived. Again, it felt chaotic. The final proverbial "straw" was that they sat strangers right next to us at the same table which was extremely awkward and uncomfortable. All in all, it was hands-down one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. :(

I noticed this spot on Google Maps because the idea of Trinidadian vegan fare appealed to me after gorging at Primanti Bros. the day before. It was a cute, bright space and fortunately not crowded. The menu looked tempting with unique dishes like Buss Up Shut (pull-apart bread with fillings) and Coconut Bake (traditional Trini bread). I decided to order the $15 Bowl of Coconut Rice with the choice of three toppings and a sauce. I went with okra, pumpkin, and stir-fried mushrooms.with a side of mango chutney (Photo 9). It was a delightfully housemade melange of Caribbean-style flavors. I've had similar West Indian food before, and this was definitely one of the fresher executions. Although intrigued by the Tamarind Ginger Drink, I decided to order the $4 Iced Coffee to wet my whistle (Photo 6). This led to my quick indulgence of the $3 Key Lime Cookie (Photo 8). My date ordered the Buffalo Cauliflower, and it was definitely hot, but good. For dinner, I ordered the Black Bean Bowl, which was a rice bowl packed with black beans, grilled veggies, and corn with a cream sauce, but that is not quite what I got. It was rice and beans, mixed, corn with no cream sauce, broccoli, and two plantains. The rice was not too savory, the broccoli was a bit bland and there was no cream sauce on the corn....sad face. I wouldn't really call this a supper club to be honest but the place definitely carries a house music bar vibe and the back bar area and seating is very dimly lit, perfect for cozying up and enjoying a drink late night. The ladies' room was so dark, I mistook it for a storage area because I could only make out a white ladder in the corner that was being used as cute shelving. The place is seat yourself. Our waiter was not super friendly and didn't offer to give us napkins or anything when our wobbly table caused our drinks to splash all over the place. The cook served our chicken with a big smile and happy interaction and we really loved his personality. The bartender also stopped by to bus our table and he was very pleasant as well. We enjoyed the perfectly fried small plate cauliflower with the plum sauce and the fried cheese/garlic wonton bites with the sriracha mayo spicy dipping sauce. The fried chicken breast on the large plate was slightly overcooked with a maple gochuchang sauce that was very bland. We were so thankful that the large plate fried chicken came with a side salad to offer some respite from the heaviness of the fried dishes. It would have been great to have some side acidic or fresh vegetable options like Kimchi or something. Maybe we tried the wrong dishes and there are other not fried things that are delicious? The dirty martini cocktail was just so-so, not really much flavor at all, but the mojito was very good and refreshing. It's probably a good late-night place for a bite and drink.

So, actually a guy at the information booth was eating something from here and I asked him where he got it from because it looked very good and he recommended them to me. So we headed their way. Tbh: Every place that we wanted to eat at had a line 25-50 deep and we were super hungry and their line was only like 5-7 people deep which was a blessing. First off, the service in general was kind of crappy, but I understand as it was a hot and very busy day and from what they told my gf at the time they were getting low on food as well and only had a couple items that were left from the menu. After deciding what we wanted which was one of three things my gf at the time ordered us the Mac and Cheese and a container of ranch to take home while I looked for a place for us to eat. So after they handed her our food we headed over to an area with tables and chairs to eat the Mac and Cheese. I must say we both thoroughly enjoyed every single bit of it and my gf at the time isn't even vegan. So that says a lot! I highly recommended it :) FYI: The person who took her order also forgot to give her the container of ranch she paid for. I wasn't made aware that she purchased it until afterwards because my gf at the time wanted to surprise me but they didn't give her a receipt so she had no proof. Oh well, you live and learn, sadly! The vibe on this day was on point so we let the little things go in regards to the crappy service and the shorting us of an overpriced container of ranch fall to the wayside and continued on with our wonderful day, smiling and enjoying the amazing festival and area. If I decide to stop by your food trailer again this year at the festival or whenever I am somewhere you are posted up in front of, I hope you make up for your mistakes from last year because that's the right thing to do.
