Not sure if it was a fluke, but not sure if we'll be returning for dinner. We had a group of 4 on a Saturday night, relatively busy but not enough to wait about 40 min for our drinks. The appetizers were good, the cocktails were REALLY good, but we feel like maybe they were short staffed for service at 8pm? The server was apologetic for the wait, which we appreciated. There were a few large parties with a million kids and I could tell one of the tables was a "lets split the bill a million ways" kind of party so I didn't hold the server down for it. The upsetting part was the salad we received. It did not taste good. Like at all. Maybe it was the overwhelming amount of cabbage or the dressing it seemed to be drenched in that caused the texture to be off? There was also something off about the appetizer fries. It came with a meat and a sauce, but there was something off about the taste, not so much the texture. Overall, I do want to return to the bar area for the drinks, just not sure if I would recommend it for a sit down dinner. read more

Very nice spot for good food, life music, friendly service and relaxed atmosphere. We came here on a few occasions and never left disappointed. Our last visit during cinco de mayo and Temecula Road Run show was no different. There were not too many customers in the beginning so we got seated right away. Our waitress came over quickly with some water and took our drinks order. We ordered appetiser not long after. The food was executed very well. Good flavours and fresh ingredients. - Ahi Tuna was fresh and nicely cut into even cubes. Spicy aioli sauce with addition of fresh jalapeño pepper and ginger elevated the dish. - Brussel sprouts with capers and mustard aioli were not over cooked and tested great. Last Saturday November 1st, we arrived at the bar. The staff were taking shots in the back. Their service was slow and pathetic. You have a MAJOR issue when your employees are stealing liquor and drinking on the job. Check your security cams from 6:45 to about 8:00 and fire your bar staff or go broke. My husband came across a few of Blackbird's plates on someone's Instagram reel and -instantly- a brunch date was set for our next day off together! We came with reservations made for 1pm on a Friday thinking it'd be busy, but upon arrival quickly realized we may not have even needed it. Aside from us, there were only two other couples there, which didn't bother us one bit as that usually means faster service. We ordered the bottomless mimosas, my husband ordered their recommended burrito and I ordered the huevos rancheros. My plate had just the right amount of heat (spice) and full of flavor! My husband agreed. He ate his burrito so fast I forgot to take a picture but he was content- though not blown away. Only thing I did want to mention as my husband asked me to, is that my plate was brought out first, and stayed that way for a good 5-10 minutes. He just wished we both been served at the same time- and although I did share my plate with him, he just felt as if it would've been nice not to be left without a plate to eat for so long while I was already eating. I will agree- as all guests being served together promptly is usually* the norm for most restaurants. Also, be careful where you set down your mimosa glass on the tables as there are deep crevices in certain areas and my husband learned the hard way when his mimosa glass toppled over when he set it down near one of the crevices and it consequently spilled onto the table and onto him. Overall - the waiter and greeter were pleasant & food tasted great so we would definitely return and try some of their other newer plates! read more

Reserved a private room for Christmas party. 30 people. The ambience and atmosphere was great. The staff was accommodating. But the trays of food provided was surprisingly small. We paid $2000 as a group and only received a small tray of meat. Just be aware if booking for a large group. read more

Walking around Old Town for the first time on Mother's Day this year and my son and I were drawn down this alley towards live music. Sat at the bar and had some awesome drinks and the best - Raven Loaded Fries crispy fries with ground beef, melted american cheese, pickled jalapenos, bacon jam with garlic aioli, bourbon barbeque drizzle. Got here about 20 minutes before they opened on a Saturday morning and the guy let us come in early to hang out while they opened up. They have a number of games like ping pong, large jenga, a large connect 4 and more for entertaining! Spacious and off the main street down one of the side roads makes Blackbird usually easy to walk right in and snag a spot for Sunday funday pending an average sized group versus some of the nearby 2 hour waits without a reservation. We've been lucky with great weather and have chosen to sit on the large back patio, which is reminiscent of a friend's backyard with fire pits and games as well as many umbrellas and shade coverings to hide from the hot Temecula sun. The inside can get a bit stuffy on hot days. Our servers have been great on all occasions and on top of our bottomless mimosas. The bottomless are nice here because they give you a carafe of champagne as well as a variety of 4 juices so you can refill at your own pace and swap around your juices. So far, we've gotten orange, blackberry, watermelon, pineapple, cranberry and grapefruit! I think the only con I have for Blackbird is the food/menu. I haven't loved anything I've tried yet (so far I've tried the ahi nachos, southwest caesar salad with chicken that definitely wasn't an $18 salad, and the chicken katsu sandwich) and there isn't a ton left on the menu calling out to me. Our server did say they're working on some new items so here is to hoping but either way we'll still come in for the bottomless mimosas, nice staff and good space. read more

Even though he was clearly busy at the bar, he was still incredibly attentive, kind, and welcoming. He took the time to make conversation, served up a delicious drink with a smile, and made me feel genuinely cared for. It's rare to find bartenders who can juggle a busy room while still making each guest feel seen and appreciated. Jesse nailed it. I left with a smile on my face and my stress melted away. Went for brunch and my first time here. Atmosphere is cool and very laid back. Service is quick and friendly, Montana, was our server. Food came out quick and Montana made sure we had everything we needed. Chocolate French toast, Chicken and Waffles and Blackbird Bennies. We followed all of this up with a delicious dessert plate. The food here is garbage. Its a shame because its a really cool location with neat decor, succulents, etc but seriously the food is garbage. I had the spicy chicken sandwich & it was obscenely spicy like they covered the entire piece of chicken in cayenne pepper. I grow my own jalapeños, I actually like spicy food but this was ridiculous. Literally all I tasted was cayenne pepper. My wife got the nachos and they were equally unimpressive. Ironically the nachos were not spicy AT ALL and were like something you might get in a high school cafeteria. We really wanted to like this place but the food is honestly horrible.. Not only they forgot to put the order in but when it came- it was super salty. So salty that we couldn't eat it- salt is life to me but brother- that was wayyy too much salt!!! Second- the bathroom- to all restaurant owners out there, please do not neglect this. There was a poopy filled diaper thrown in the women's bathroom trash and the smell was so bad we told one of the servers about it. They cleaned, however, they did not empty the trash so the smell was still there.
