But not bad. I typically prefer when someone is very attentive to cutting my nails, cuticles, and taking care of any extra skin or nail attempting to become ingrown. Julie is amazing. She is so sweet and attentive. She made sure I was comfortable and provided excellent service. I received a gel manicure on my natural nails (no acrylic) and a gel pedicure--and I would return to Julie, specifically. The only reason I am rating it 5 stars is because I can't rate it 4.5 stars. I've gotten more for less at other establishments. The deluxe pedicure here is the basic pedicure at the majority of places I go. From the paraffin treatment to the 10 minute massage, these are both a part of basic or intermediate pedicures at some other establishments. Also, nowadays, everyone owns their own gel nail polish to do at home...including myself. I get it done occasionally for convenience. It's hard for me to justify spending an additional $40 for gel in 2025 every time I get my nails done. read more

I've been searching for a new nail salon for over a yr since moving to this area; checked out a few places based on reviews and my own experiences - this one is the keeper! I was a little hesitant at first because the shop is older but it makes up with the employees [Jimmy is ridiculous but funny lol and the rest of the staff is friendly too] and the attention to details they have -- they have phone stands at each station for the guest to comfortably scroll/watch/talk away. They have lotion but also sunscreen when doing gel manis. They have a little pedestal to prop your leg up when they're scrubbing your feet for your pedicure instead of manhandling your feet lol. My dip always stays on perfectly in-between the long weeks I go before coming back in. The only suggestion I would have is I wish they had more dip colors to choose from (even though I only ever rotate between 3 variations of colors haha) read more

The only reason that I am not giving 5 stars is because it has been less than a week and I can tell my gel nails are starting to crack on the sides. I had gone to the same nail shop for 10 years. Unfortunately, they didn't survive the pandemic, so I was forced to find another nail shop. After bouncing around from shop to shop (unimpressed and largely unhappy), my time had come to try BL nails. Words cannot express how happy I am with that decision. Kim did my nails and she was absolutely perfect. I told her what I wanted (I'm very simple, but very particular) and she knocked it out of the park! My nails look incredible! They're perfect. I didn't have to ask her to do/fix anything (I usually have to ask to have my nails filed more, or rounded more, or evened out etc.). She did them perfectly. I couldn't stop looking at my nails throughout the entire process because I was stunned at how perfect they were (even better than my precious nail tech who I went to for a decade!). She inspected my nails meticulously throughout to make sure they were straight and even and all cohesive. I couldn't be happier with her service! Came in on A Saturday morning to treat myself to a pre- birthday pedicure. It had to be one of the best experiences I've had in years. I believe the young lady said her name was Holly, she was so kind and so thorough and soooo sweet! My feet are so pretty and my legs are just glowing from the oils and lotions she massaged them with. I love this place! I've been coming here since it's grand opening, years ago! Jimmy is a sweet guy and hilarious too! He's very personable and can make anyone smile. Justin & Jason are also equally awesome! Everyone that works here is really nice and accommodating. It can get pretty busy here so it's best to come during non-peak hours (i.e. Not the weekend or after 5pm). Either way, you'll still get great service, but you may feel more relaxed with less of a crowd. read more

I just recently started coming here regularly. First, I loooove Jimmy! He keeps me laughing & I love how he makes me feel like family. I've gone to so many places where I feel like just another face, but Jimmy remembered me on my second visit. Second, if you can't take a joke this is not the place for you. Lastly, I think the review from Helen P. is hilarious! If I could reply directly, I would. I was there that day and heard & saw everything with my own two eyes and my own two ears. The mother came in the door very rude and abrasive. I was extremely uncomfortable with how she spoke to the lady trying to help her. FYI: Just because you have a handicap does not give you the right to be rude to any and everyone. Shame on the other two ladies for allowing that type of behavior and for writing that bogus review. Remember: It costs nothing to be nice! Especially to someone who is going to help you relax and give you a service that is not a necessity! I always get short coffin nails; while he achieved the shape, my nails were way too thick & unnatural looking. I asked him to file down but he informed me that my nails could break if too thin. Was greeted kindly. Was told 30min to 40 min wait. Didn't like it, but no biggie. An asian lady came after me about 5 minutes. We both had waited already 30 for her and abt 35 min for me. I told her i wear tennis shoes a bunch and gel womt last any longer on me. Kept telling her no gel, yet she asks, "Nongel?" Wtf? She was either rude and incompetent or just rude. Was staying at The Fairfield Suites. Needed a mani/pedi & found that BL Nails was VERY close. Walked maybe 200 yds. (Very convenient location). Got there at 11:00 am & got right in. The place was clean & relaxing. I had one tech that did the pedi & another for the manicure. They were both good. I'm at the Fairfield about every other month. I had an appointment today at 11 for me and my sister we both had the milk and honey pedicure. it took a while for them to seat us and even when we were seated they took another 15 minutes to even remember to put water and then when we were sitting there the water eventually was cold. they weren't even that busy. I had a young man do my pedicure I'm not sure what his name is but he had blonde hair he was barely putting any pressure sometimes he would completely stop and look at his coworkers and ignore me. he put five layers of nail polish and it was taking forever to dry the service was so bad and disheartening I almost forgot to pay and I completely feel cheated out of my $60. I don't recommend the salon it's one of the worst experiences I've ever had. I remember waking up that morning and looking in the mirror asking myself why. My eyebrows were a hot wooly mess. My fingers looked like I had been toiling in the fields. My feet....OMG, my feet though. I already knew that I was going to tip just for that alone. So, I hit up BL after seeing it randomly the week before. As soon as I walked in I was immediately greeted and blown away. This place was PACKED TO THE BRIM. I saw that as a good sign. I informed the gentleman that I needed a full set, pedicure, and a full face wax so that I no longer looked like Barry White. After sitting for quite a while, which I did not mind because I had a great conversation with a nice young woman and also was given a cocktail, I was shown to the chair to start my pedicure. I must say that Jenny is the bomb. I loved her. She worked HARD for her money that day working with my shreddums. It is two weeks later and my feet still look great. The downside though had to be with the woman who did my full set. My cuticles were so damaged! I had cuts and had to put alcohol on my hands for days to take out the soreness. I mean, cut to the point that my skin had to scab to heal. That kind of cut. That is not okay! Also, I was not impressed with the shaping done on the nails. Plus, they are too thick and are a bit sloppy. No bueno, especially after the amazing full set I received in San Antonio. I had her file the nails down thinner and I thought she was using too much acrylic. She told me straight up to watch TV. Like, RUDE. Be gone girl! She ended up being the person who also waxed my face. For the most part, she did a good job. She is definitely on the sadistic side thought because she straight up giggled when a tear fell. She better be happy that I like sadistic people. LOL! My brows were bad, but they did make my natural resting bitch face look even bitchier. That's no good. I mean, I like having RBF, but these just made me look judgmental as hell. For the most part, I would not say that my experience was bad, but it was just okay. Definitely a place of hits and misses, but overall a good experience. Will I be back? Um... maybe for Jenny and also request Justin.
