Great experience; typical for most of my visits to BJ's. A coworker and I were working in the area when he suggested another place. I said we should come here and when we sat at the bar to watch the FIFA game, he was looking at the menu for something healthy, I suggested the Strawberry Fields salad on the $13 meal specials. He chose the Mediterranean Bowl with Salmon instead of chicken. They did it for a small upcharge. He was super happy and said he has to go to his local place more often. Elise suggested I try the chicken on my Strawberry fields salad blackened and it was sooo good. Came here late and night for their late night happy hour. It was busy and so we asked about the bar seating since you can only get the happy hour there. The hosts told us that since they're busy, they aren't seating anyone there since they're limiting since they have one server. They said that we should be able to get Happy hour for regular seating since it's busy at the bar. After waiting 30 minutes to get seated, our server said that the information the hosts provided was inaccurate and they're unable to give us happy hour. They shared that we couldn't sat at the bar from the beginning which means we didn't have to wait. Overall, their food is alright. It's your typical American bar food. I'd say that it's a bit overpriced for what it is if you order from their menu. Their happy hour makes it reasonable priced. My husband and I came here the other night for a very late dinner. It was quite busy due to graduations happening in the area. Our server with Sammy and her customer service was excellent. She took her time to engage with the customers. She was serving very friendly and checked on us. Often the food was great. We had a margarita pizza and some wings. We really enjoyed the pizza and we ordered it with extra basil as our server suggested doing. I also ordered the Dubai espresso martini, which was delicious! For dessert we had the Biscoff Pizookie that was out of this world! If you enjoy Biscoff cookies you must give this pizookie a try! I really wanted to like this experience, and I know without a doubt it could have been better. We were seated at a table with Michael, and you know that awkward feeling when you feel like you're bothering someone? That's exactly how my family and I felt. We even talked about it after dinner, and I wasn't the only one who picked up on that vibe. We received our drinks and were asked if we wanted to start with anything, so we ordered two appetizers--but not before asking a few questions about the menu. He didn't seem very interested in explaining anything and simply responded with "yeah, it's good." When a customer asks what's popular, that's the perfect opportunity for a server to showcase their knowledge and help guide the experience. It's not about blame if someone doesn't like a dish--it's about making sure they feel informed and confident in their choice. Instead, we felt rushed and not really cared for. After putting the order in, he came back to ask if we were ready to order our mains. We had a few more questions, especially about the pizzas, and ultimately decided on the barbecue chicken pizza. Some time passed, and our appetizers finally arrived--but we had no small plates, utensils, or napkins. We looked around for him and couldn't find him, and since the other servers nearby were busy, I ended up walking across the restaurant just to get what we needed. Things became more noticeable as we finished our food and sat there for a while with empty glasses. Once we were ready to pay, there was a QR code on the table, and as soon as he noticed we were about to check out, he came over with a water pitcher to refill our glasses and made small talk. It would've been nice to have that level of attentiveness while we were actually eating (which did once at the beginning when our food came to our table). Waiting until the very end didn't feel genuine. I'm not sure I would visit this location again. I haven't been to a BJ's in years--about 12, back when I lived in the Midwest--so this felt like a fresh experience for me. Honestly, I'd rate it two stars as a new customer, mainly due to the service. On a positive note, the food did come out hot. The chicken nachos were the standout appetizer, and the sampler was just okay. The barbecue chicken pizza, however, wasn't my favorite--I wouldn't order it again. The crust tasted like it may have been beer-based, which didn't pair well with the barbecue sauce. It might've worked better with a traditional marinara, but I gave something new a try, and that's what matters. If you're in the area, it might be worth stopping by for the food alone, but when it comes to customer service, there's definitely room for improvement. read more

I haven't reviewed BJ's in a very long time because I haven't been back and in a very long time. I went back today and got the lunch special of all you can eat soup and salad. I was with a big group and I have to say that our server was exceptional. There were 12 of us and she handled it like a trooper! I should have asked for her name so that I could give her a personal mention. The service was amazing and the food came out nice and hot. I didn't care for the chicken tortilla soup so I opted to get the chili in place of the soup that I couldn't eat. Chili was good with a noticeable beer flavor. The salads were great. I had a caesar and then I had the tomato mozzarella salad. Both were delicious but the tomato mozzarella salad was over the top. It was simple and flavorful with bocconcini, diced tomatoes and arugula with a balsamic vinegar dressing. Everybody enjoyed the clam chowder. The pizza's looked really good. One person in our group needs to be gluten-free and her pizza came out twice the size of a regular personal pizza! It was very impressive. One person shared her fries with me and they were very good. Based on the service alone I will start going back here. I would really like to just order some appetizers next time and share. I remember how good the avocado egg rolls were. read more

A year later and still no improvement. Management nowhere to help when we asked the server why our drinks from the bar were taking so long she said they are short staffed. She stated there should be 4 bartenders but there was only two, meanwhile we had view of the bar and no manager jumped in to help. I honestly don't know what happened to this place. It used to be really good. My husband and I went there today and we ordered a tri-tip with shrimp scampi. I asked for the barbecue sauce not to be on it. Maybe that was my mistake. I asked for the steak to be medium well. But this has been the driest steak I have ever eaten in my whole entire life no flavor whatsoever. My veggies were burnt and that's just for the food. Ever since walking in no one greets you they just ask you to follow them to where you're gonna go sit. No utensils were left. The server was nice enough, but throughout our whole meal, he never came around to see if we needed more refills on our beverages. I had to flag him down to get our check. Went in today for lunch to celebrate our anniversary and our waitress was the sweetest! We got seated almost immediately during the peak lunch hour and our food was relatively quick. The manager brought out my husband's meal which they accidentally did shrimp tacos instead of the mahi mahi. He told us not to worry, they would take care of it. They ended up comping both taco meals and giving us a to go box. I had the spicy peanut soba noodles with very dry chicken, while the flavor was on point, the dish was a kid's portion and not worth $20 at all, so I know not to order that one again. The s'mores pizookie was the perfect ending to our meal. P.S. The fish tacos trump the shrimp ones. I have always loved this place! Not sure why it has such low reviews. People like to complain about food and all that, but I always see people come here! Its nicely decorated inside and its always clean. I love the feel of this place. They have excellent appetizers. I especially love their calamari! I loved their avocado eggrolls! Idk if they still have this stuff still. Their pizza is also excellent. Its thinner than some places and my son loves it! You can even build your own pizzas. Rating based on our ridiculous and overwhelming dissatisfaction with our reservation Friday night (5/8/26) with their "host/hostess desk." We had an Open Table reservation for 7 at 9:15pm, didn't get seated until 10:00pm! Checked numerous times and attitude & demeanor of young high school/college aged female employees was off-putting. Not only that, silverware rolled in black napkins had fallen on the floor, and one of the female workers picked the fallen forks & knife up and re-rolled it nicely in the napkin and my wife pointed this out to hostesses. They claimed that they weren't going to place it back to be given to a customer. Buy why would you re-roll it neatly if you're going to place them with the dirty utensils. We felt it would've been re-used had we not said anything to them. Honestly, we don't think it makes any difference making a reservation here versus walking in without one as we waited 45 minutes for a table. We almost regretted dining here as 6 of us were driving back to San Diego afterwards, and 1 of us was driving back to South Pasadena. Now the positive. Our server, night manager, and food ordered made up for the evening. The boneless wings ordered was served cold, but it was re-done and served hot like it should have been. The manager had comp'd a free large pizookie dessert for the inconvenience. The other food ($13 pizookie deep dish pizza & salad combos) and a shrimp entree, and their avocado egg rolls were very good and well priced! We don't know if we'll ever come back here, we may try other alternatives for late night dining, especially if they can't get their reservation logistics and hostess customer service in order! They're in great need to being re-trained and told they need to place themselves in the shoes of their patrons. How would they want their family members treated if they were dining at BJ's? Anyway, huge kudos to our server and the manager who salvaged what would've been one star review scores across the board. read more

Ive never eaten here before. I came because I wanted the gluten free pizookie. The pizookie was by far the highlight and easily an 8-9/10, but everything else was a huge disappointment. The baked potato was decent but the burger was terrible. It came super undercooked. This is not medium well. Unfortunately I was the first one to take a bite of my burger and im severely immunocompromised so now I have anxiety. We all stuck our burgers back in the oven to cook longer. If you let your server know, they'll apology and get you a fresh batch. When they're hot and fresh they're great. We usually sit at the bar and they seem to have somewhat high turnover there. We used to have the same servers all the time and service was great but lately service is really lacking. Empty glasses. Server no where to be found. Super slow to come around and see if we need anything even though they are not busy. We typically go mid-week non-happy hour. We might get better service at a regular table but we do like to sit at the bar and just grab an open booth. They have some tall tables at the bar too. The hot chicken sandwich is overpriced for what you get and it's not as good as the Burger King and McDonald's options. The side of coleslaw tasted good but so small, was literally finished in three and a half bites. The steak salad, the meat was so tough and rubbery you literally could not chew through it. Another great experience at BJ's. The kids brought me here for my birthday and the place was busy as it could be. The place was filled with happy customers and it was well lit. The food, let me tell you about the food. Our server Kris (Kristen) was awesome. She was on the ball, polite and you could tell she was genuine. I ordered the smash burger off the weekly deal. We came for the viral $13 pizookie meal. The dirrrrty front doors should have been sufficient red flag... but we continued. Asked about getting a virgin version of an alcoholic drink and was told "yeah, I can't do that," in a stern way. Ok, no problem. She's pointing and complaining about a few tables giving her a hard time.. My gf and I want in the bar for HH on a Tuesday Aug 11th. It was probably the worst time yet. Young guy waited on us. Very nice. Just did a horrible job. Took 20 to 30 minutes for the food. It was cold when it came out. I mentioned this to him. He said the cooks just put it up which I told him was nonsense. I don't leave reviews often but I have to given my experience. I have celiac and eating out is often filled with anxiety. Raymond was our server and he was amazing! Super knowledgeable with celiac and cross contamination. He took the time to explain and also went above and beyond to make sure the food was safe for me to eat. I really hope his manager sees this and gives acknowledgement to where it is deserved. Although the place was very clean, there was a bug in our booth and another server was very understanding and acknowledged our discomfort and moved us to another booth. After my 14-year-old's football game in Corona, I brought him and his older brother here. We were a bit tired rolling in around 10:30 p.m., so it was great to find a local favorite still open. We were seated right away, menus in hand, and our waitress quickly brought waters and took our drink orders. Food came out within 15 minutes--impressive for how late it was--and everything was cooked perfectly. My younger son tried deep dish pizza for the first time and loved it. I went with the Enlightened Strawberry Chicken Salad, while my college kid tackled a giant burger (and yes, it was as big as it sounds, lol). Our waitress was fantastic--friendly, attentive, and always keeping our waters and iced tea filled. As a coach, I dehydrate easily, so that kind of attention never goes unnoticed.
