As we walked in we were greeted by a fire alarm that was broken and kept dinging the entire time we were there. We had a reservation but it didn't seem to matter as people he were walking in were seated ahead of us. We were sat in a table by the bar near the window, It was extremely hot, when I asked if they had the air conditioner on. I was told they were having some issues. We were offered a different table that "might be a little cooler" The staff looked miserable in the heat. I can't imagine how the kitchen staff was feeling. I've been to other BJ's but their Burbank location isn't quite on par with the one in Huntington Beach. The place was clean so I have no complaints. However, the service here is slower. Our server got our orders quickly (salad and burger), but drink refills were hard to come by. We had to wait about 15-20 minutes for our pizookie to be served to our table. I don't like to leave bad reviews, but this was frustrating! We came on July 15th, a Wednesday at 4 PM to grab something to eat before going to a concert at The Greek. The place must have been super understaffed because even though there were barely any customers, they told us we'd have a 30 minute wait, which was very unexpected for this time of day. The bar area was a little busy, but the rest of the restaurant was nearly empty (see pics) really just one other family besides us. After we were finally seated we waited another 40 minutes between ordering and getting our food. We thought we had allowed ample time to eat and get to the concert early, but after the long wait time realized we were cutting it close, so we told them to start our Pazooki's early and we were rushing to get out the door in time. The waiter was nice, but saw several of the waiters just standing around because there really wasn't any business. The food was just ok, I got a smash-burger, the mini Pazooki was yummy as usual! I'm not sure how they stay in business being so empty and with the poor service and wait time. Our BJ's in Santa Clarita is always busy, but they get you in quick and service is great! Bj' s has become our go to spot. Well managed, a great menu and superior service characterize this branch. The 13.00 lunch special is incredible. Smash burger and fried chicken are our favs. Add a pizookie in the deal too. Burger is a bomb layered with cheese, pickle , onion and a tangy burger sauce. Fried chicken breast on a bed of mashed potatoes with corn is a must here . Service was great on a crowded Friday lunch . I had a very mixed experience at BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse in Burbank. My biggest issue has nothing to do with the food or the employees inside--it's the parking situation. BJ's advertises "complimentary valet parking," but it doesn't feel complimentary when the signs indicate that gratuity is appreciated and customers feel pressured to tip just to park their cars. What makes it even more frustrating is that there appears to be available parking on the property, and there is also free three-hour parking directly across the street. This is BJ's, not a luxury steakhouse where valet service is expected. The whole setup feels unnecessary and inconvenient. I understand that BJ's may not actually own the parking lot and that there could be agreements with neighboring businesses or the property owner. However, from a customer's perspective, there should be a better system in place that allows both businesses to utilize the available parking without guests feeling like valet is the only option. The current arrangement simply doesn't make much sense and leaves a bad first impression before you even walk through the door. That being said, the parking situation is absolutely not a reflection of the service inside the restaurant. I was dining alone, and from the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel welcome. My server, Jenneth, was fantastic--friendly, attentive, and on top of everything throughout my meal. Stacey and Jake also went above and beyond with their kindness and service. You can tell these are genuinely good people who care about their guests and take pride in their work. In the end, I happily tipped Jake $5, Stacey $5, and my server, Jenneth, $5 because they earned it. I'd much rather spend my money rewarding employees who provided outstanding service than feel obligated to tip for a so-called "complimentary" valet service. Management should seriously reconsider the parking arrangement because it's hurting the customer experience before people even sit down to eat. Well, I guess it's time for another BJ's update! It's been several years since I was last here and I've really been craving it for the last few days. I asked my son if he wanted to go have dinner there and he said yes, so we decided to head over last night. When we arrived, we were kind of surprised to see how packed the place was on a Wednesday night! The restaurant was very crowded and the waiting area was also full of people waiting for their table. It took us 25 minutes to be seated and we were greeted by our server Aaron. Aaron was fantastic. He was taking care of a bunch of tables and killing it all night long. He was very patient, attentive, smart and personable. He did not write down anything while taking our order and there wasn't a single thing wrong or missing from our food once all the food got there. My son also asked for water with no ice, which people usually dismiss and still bring him water with ice, but Aaron actually listened and brought his water without any ice. As it started to wind down towards the end of his shift and our dinner, we even got to chat with him for a little bit and it made the experience that much better. He didn't make us feel like just another table. His service, personality, and demeanor were all qualities of an exemplary employee. The place has your typical brewhouse vibe. Loud, good 70s/80s music playing, a bunch of huge flatscreen TVs playing sports, and of course, people drinking and having a good time. For an appetizer, we ordered the Pan-Fried dumplings which were delicious on their own, but the soy-ginger sauce was a salt bomb. I also ordered a starter Caesar Salad for myself and it was drenched in way too much dressing for my taste. My son's entree was the Cherry Chipotle salmon, which he liked and said was yummy. I ordered the Tri Tip and Shrimp Scampi combo with Mashed Potatoes and Roasted Veggies (Broccoli, Cauliflower and Bell Peppers). Although everything was tasty and delicious, the shrimp was literally SWIMMING in so much butter and oil, I had to pat each one dry before I ate it and I told Aaron to get rid of the bowl of sauce right away. It was insanely excessive and no one needs that much butter on their shrimp. The shrimp and salad being drenched in sauce/dressing respectively is why I'm leaving this review at 4 stars instead of 5. For dessert, we got their ICONIC Chocolate Chunk Pizookie with Vanilla Ice Cream, which was delicious as always. Another great visit to BJ's with great food, great vibes, and great service! Bit of a fight to find parking on a crowded Friday night, but Valet parking is offered for $8 or you can try your luck with the open parking on the second floor. As a party of 6, we were seated rather quickly after waiting 10 minutes. Server did check on us consistently but would seem to forget what we had requested (waters, ranch, marinara sauce). Since it was friday, I shared the prime rib meal (that comes with a pizookie). Steak had quite a bit of fat and came rare instead of medium rare. Which was fine for me but too red for who I shared with. It was odd that half of us got our meals and the other half had to wait 5 minutes to get there's. We were told it was a delay on the French fries. What we enjoyed most were the pizookies! Chocolate chip and strawberry shortcake were delicious and soft. Our bday boy got his free pizookie and we noted a clear difference. His cookie was hard. Unsure if it was cause it was a salted caramel flavor or cause it was free. No song was sung for him which we didnt mind as we can sing it ourselves but I know some people choose restaurants based on that. My wife and I had been burned by another BJ's location years ago, so we took it out of our dine-out rotation choices. Every now and then we get a craving for a Pizookie, and after watching so many damn commercials this spooky season we finally caved. We opted to give the Burbank location a shot since we've never been to this one before. We went on a weekday and it's apparently valet only for parking (even though the valet guy disappeared for a while and we could've just parked ourselves since there's ample parking). We were seated right away and tried their $13 Pizookie Meal Deal (lunch meal with personal sized Pizookie). My wife ordered the Southern Fried Chicken while I ordered the All-American Smash Burger. We also had the Fried Couscous Mac & Cheese Balls for an appetizer. The Mac & Cheese Balls were ok but much smaller than we remembered. The All-American Smash Burger was more bun than meat (weird for being a double patty burger). The Southern Fried Chicken was the driest thing either of us had tried to eat in quite some time - it was basically dry chicken jerky. No amount of sauce could save it, so my wife couldn't even finish it. For dessert, my wife had the Strawberry Shortcake Pizookie while I went with the classic Chocolate Chunk Pizookie. The Strawberry Shortcake was too sweet, but we liked the Chocolate Chunk. We remembered why we stopped going to BJ's all those years ago - it's just ok. What turned us off the last time was cold food, so at least we didn't have that problem this round. The quality of food seems to have declined over the years, so who knows when we'll be back. They blasted loud music which we weren't found of (call us old but playing techno before noon might be a wee bit early for that racket). I guess we're more partial to Chili's than BJ's. read more

Sat down for happy hour, but it did not start until 9, and we were seated at 8:33. We decided to order the kids' food, and we would drink and wait. 9 pm came around, and still no kids' food. We ordered happy hour stuff, and finally at around 9:25, about 45 minutes after placing the kids' orders, their food arrived. This was frustrating, especially for my kids. This is basic chain restaurant. There is a large bar and spacious dining room, perfect for larger groups. The food is decent most of the time with great daily specials. The customer service at this location can be hit or miss. It seems they are always under staffed so the wait time to get your orders can get up there. We had to flag our waiter down a couple times about dessert and the check . There's no reason a pizookie should take over 30 minutes to be brought out. It's just a baked cookie and scoop of ice cream. BJ's has a large selection of beers on tap, and plenty of TV's to catch the game of the day. At the end of the day the Pizookie meal deal is great value at $13. They have a good selection of entrees to choose from to pair with the pizookie. Was going good until the end of the night turned it completely off for my family and I. As we were about to finishing our food, we ordered our pizookie. We were all excited to eat a good dessert at end of the day, until it took an hour long to get our pizookie. We had to go up to the cashier and decided to cancel our pizookie. What was even more saddening, was they were taking another 15-20 min for our check. We then had to go up again just to get our check. Crazy enough, the pizookie came out as we were about to leave. What was more frustrating was our server. As we were waiting for that 1hr and 20 min, there was no check in, no "sorry for the delay," and no good customer service. As I finally complained to the manager, our server decided to roll her eyes and mad dog me as signing the check to leave. As a person that was a server before, I know that's not the way to have good customer service. I get it, it's stressful and overwhelming with the amount of people and who knows how many hours you were working that day, but you should try to have a smile on your face no matter what. There was a large party of at least 20 people seated 10feet from us who were standing and yelling conversations during our entire meal. We could not hear each other talk. We complained several times but it took over an hour for the manager to announce that they needed to quiet down. That took another 20minutes before they sat back down. The spinach artichoke appetizer was good. I had the wedge steak salad. The wedge was good, the steak was fatty and a lot of it was tough and uneatable. My husband had the seared ahi tuna salad. The tuna did not taste fresh but he liked it ok. He said the taste diminished as he ate. Our meal was served without any silverware or napkins. Glad we came so we know we don't need to return. Lots of salads, burgers, Jambalaya, appetizers, etc. Pizzas are for sharing. Which means you have to agree with your partner what to put on it. Then again the half and half is a good option. Service is hit or miss. Ive been here a few times and the food takes a while to come out. They serve Pepsi products which may bother some of us, including me. On a plus they have fun sugary mocktails and an entire brewery to chose from. Parking can be tricky. Weekends they have vallet. Otherwise there is a small lot upstairs. read more

She gave me the nastiest glare and rudest tone when she said, "we actually called you guys like 30 minutes ago and you didn't respond". Everyone in my party did NOT hear her call our name and we never received a phone call or text message saying our table was ready... A clever customer service mindset would probably entail wondering why there's still a party waiting in the front for so long when all the names have already been called...yet, no one thought to check on us and instead, blamed us for not hearing our name (which was never called). Our table enjoyed the Pizookie Trio (Sugar Cookie, Cookies and Cream, and Chocolate Chunk) and Mozzarella Sticks. The Chocolate Chunk Pizookie stood out to me most! I like how the trio comes in small portions so you can try different flavors. The Cookies and Cream and Sugar Cookie one was definitely skippable...for some reason the Cookies and Cream whipped cream came out warm, which was off putting to me. I do appreciate that you can get it with chocolate or vanilla ice cream! Mozzarella Sticks were average. Not enough marinara sauce. This restaurant completely sucked when it comes to service. We got sat down right away as the restaurant just opened, but it took them several minutes to come to our table and take the drink order after arguing with the table right next to us for whatever reason. I asked for sweetener right away when I ordered iced tea and she did not bring it with my drink. I asked another server five minutes later that was walking by who also didn't bring it. I had to go to the hostess 10 minutes later and ask her for it, even though it has nothing to do with her job. The server came to my table, indignant as fuck, claiming that the sugar was given to me. Why would I leave my table if that was true? MAKES NO SENSE. Anyways, from start to finish we were there almost 2 hours and not because we were talking with each other, but because that is how slow they are. There were also other issues like not making my friends pizza correctly, not making her salad correctly, NEVER getting any refills, etc but for the sake of protecting our food after the attitude about sweetener, I chose to just ignore it and bring it here instead. I've never tipped so low in my life. I only did 15% and I only tipped because just in case they do tip share, I didn't want other people to be screwed over just because our server was terrible. I only came to BJ's to try the magical avocado egg rolls and pizookies that people bang on endlessly about. I will never get to try the pizookie, as I'm not exaggerating when I say that my dinner at BJ's tonight was one of the worst restaurant experiences of my life (and I've been dining out all over the world for 40-some years) and I would not come back here even if I were paid to. It was absolutely awful from the moment we were seated. It was 7pm on a Tuesday, but the place seemed pretty packed. We were seated by 7:13, and it took over 10 minutes for our waiter to appear. We ordered everything right away: avocado egg rolls, full rack of ribs with fries and mashed potatoes, sirloin brewhouse bowl, two beers, and water. I was very irritated when the server "didn't hear" my order, even though, since it was loud, I over-enunciated and pointed to the damn listing on the menu. He thought I wanted the sirloin steak, so he began quizzing me about whether I wanted chicken or shrimp with it (huh?) and asking what two sides I wanted. I finally stabbed the brewhouse bowl listing with my finger until he looked, then he bubbled over with apologies. That really irritated me, but I figured we'd have our beers soon and I could forget about it. Nope! Our beers didn't come out till about 7:50. Still no water, still no eggrolls. People around us who ordered after us were being served food. It was after 8 by the time another server brought our entrees out. No eggrolls, no water. She didn't ask if we needed anything else. Our original server came back and I asked where the eggrolls and water were, and he seemed surprised that we hadn't received them. He said he'd check on it and hurried away, so I had to scream "KETCHUP TOO!" so my boyfriend didn't have to let his fries get any colder while we continued to wait for things that we should have had already. The food was awful. Terrible. Barely edible. My boyfriend's ribs were okay, but everything on his plate was cold- meat, fries, mashed potatoes. My steak was pink (I ordered it medium well), fatty, and ice-cold. One of the grains - farro, I think - wasn't cooked enough and the rock-hard pieces of it nearly broke my teeth. The eggrolls were disgusting. Cold, scorched on the bottom, brown avocado, dry & wilted cilantro. I would have been embarrassed to place that plate on a table for guests. They managed to not fuck up the sweet tamarind sauce that came with it (gasp!), but it just tasted gross. We finally got waters too, and my glass was riddled with dirty spots. Since the eggrolls came out late, our server took them off our bill. Whoop de doo. I still feel robbed paying for the rest of that slop. I noticed that the two other tables assigned to our server complained heavily - one of them even asked to speak to the manager, then left without eating. Our beleaguered server finally got the picture that we were pissed and tried to get us boxes for the full plates we left (nope) and then rushed our cheque to us. He didn't ask if we wanted dessert, which we didn't, because we were tired and didn't feel like waiting six more hours to be disappointed yet again. We got home around 9. So much for popping out for dinner quick on a Tuesday night. We had an okay experience here last month: we came for an early lunch on a Sunday, and service was prompt and the food was fine. We had a jalapeno burger, half rack of ribs with mac & cheese, two orders of fries, and two ducky cocktails. I decided then that I wanted to come back to try what I'd heard were the gems of the menu, the eggrolls and pizookie. What a fool I was. That Sunday morning, I used the ladies' room. We were one of the first customers of the day, so I was expecting a presentable lavatory. It was revolting: it reeked of sewage, two of the toilet seats were broken, there were clumps of disgusting long black hair on the floor, and the stalls, floors, and sink area did not appear to have been recently cleaned. I am so angry to have wasted time and money here tonight. We should have been charged for the beers and maybe one entree, tops. This location - and I'm inclined to think this whole chain - is utterly disgraceful. read more

Awesome place. Plenty of parking. Theres valet but you can drive past to get to self parking on the upper floor. Its huge. So many tables. They have tvs everywhere so you can catch all the different games. So you can imagine it's a lively place on a weekend evening. And so many different pizzas. I ordered the BJs favorite deep dish 11" pizza. Good, like a supreme pizza. Also tried the pizookie sampler. It's 3 mini pizookies, original, Strawberry shortcake, and cookies and creme. Original is good but the others were sweet for me. Our server Orlando was awesome, funny and hard working. It was really busy but he still made it a point to serve us with a positive attitude. Stopped by BJ's restaurant for dinner driving home from Ventura with my girlfriend. We were hoping for a quick meal and getting back on the freeway for the rest of the drive. Wait was 20 minutes for a table, but we were seated in less than 15 minutes so that was a good start. But it went downhill from there. We ordered the pre fixe menu, I had a pork chop and my girlfriend ordered a prime rib medium rare. Food was slow coming out and when it arrived my girlfriend's prime rib was cooked well done. She asked the server who agreed that they had seriously overcooked the prime rib. The server took it back to have the kitchen remake it after confirming that it was ordered medium rare. 20 minutes later, I had finished my meal when the server brought the replacement cut. It was cooked well again. The server was on her break and the relief server came back to the table, saw how well done the meat was cooked and brought it back. While she was talking to us the original server came over and was flabbergasted that it was severely overcooked again. She sent the manager to our table who informed us that the server had put it into the system as medium well, not medium rare. The manager assured us that she would get it correct and that my girlfriend's meal would be right out. Fast forward another 15 minutes or so, my girlfriend isn't hungry anymore and a 3rd piece of prime rib is brought to the table. This piece was very rare, barely browned on the edges. At this point she asked for our dessert, the pizzokies that came with our meal, and a to go container for the prime rib. We finished our dessert and received our bill. My girlfriend picked up the check and noted that our drinks had been comped by the staff. The check showed 3 orders of prime rib but 2 were canceled out. She paid the bill and added the 20% tip suggested. After we left she mentioned that the tip seemed high. When we looked at the receipt we noticed that the tip was figured based upon 3 orders of prime rib as well as my pork chop meal and our beverages. So she ended up tipping basically 50% of the correct bill. This was a very disappointing experience. I've never been to this BJ'S location before, and I don't plan on returning. To be clear the servers and manager were all very polite and I believe genuinely helpful. That being said the overall experience was very sub-par. 2 stars because of the servers and manager, but the meal and needing 3 attempts to provide a still incorrect main course would have earned a 1 star review. read more

It was warm and stuffy inside the restaurant. Our first waiter was okay, but he took a break and handed us off to another waiter. I tried to flag him down and it took three attempts before he noticed. Our food took about half an hour to come out. My son a a bug crawling on his menu, and shortly before we left there was a spider behind me. We valeted our car, but when we left the valet was no where to be found. I went back inside to ask, and they told me my keys were at the bar. What's the point of valet. Last time I come here. read more

Service was lagging today. We sat there for over two hours to eat and wait for our items. Bar area was full so the staff and manager allowed us to sit outside that area and still allowed us to use the Happy Hour menu. The place is very noisy and bustling with people on a Sunday. So it was not surprising that our bill did not register everything correctly. Fortunately the manager fixed our bill. All in all we had a good time. I was disappointed that my pizza wasn't as crispy as I would have liked.. especially since I ordered it that way. I still recommend this place they have a new $6 cocktail menu. read more

They have a small rooftop parking area that's free if you don't want to pay $8 for valet, but it was full. I almost gave up on eating here, but luckily found public parking across the street with plenty of space. Now let's talk about the highlight, service. I had the best server I've ever met. Her name is Lauren P.. I had a free appetizer reward through the app and was going to use it on fries, but she suggested using it on a more expensive appetizer to get the most value. When another server accidentally dropped my pizza at the wrong table, Lauren noticed and brought it back. I was concerned about it being touched since it looked messy, and she offered to bring a new one right away. The new pizza arrived missing pineapple, and before I even had to say anything, she noticed and brought the missing topping over without being asked. She truly deserves a raise or employee of the month. As for what went wrong, parking is very limited, and the bar section's high-top table numbers seem to confuse the staff. I almost got someone else's food twice. Thanks to Lauren, my overall experience was saved. I'll definitely come back because of her. read more

Everytime I come to this specific location I have high hopes the service will be better, but it always let's me down. Coupled with the fact that it is valet only on weekdays before 3pm is horrible for the lunchtime crowd which is a loss for them cause they have a great $13.00 weekday lunch time deal. The hostess was very welcoming and pleasant, we were seated immediately, but look at good 10 minutes until our server came out. She may have been new which is a factor and she did try her best, but when you have one server covering that many tables things will slip through the cracks, they just need more servers. The food was soo good dor the deal we got. I still like BJ's and think it is worth a visit cause the food is good. read more
