Service and quality of food was good. However, the place is relatively small/crowded.

Mixed berry scone was so moist and flavorful! Get it!

Nov 2017- stumbled upon this place after visiting the Chester Beatty Library. What caught my eye was the advertised "Full Irish breakfast" for about 8 Euros. Our first full day in Dublin and I wanted to try an Irish breakfast. Honestly, it wasn't terrible, yet it wasn't great. I enjoyed more the mixed berry scone with jam and butter. It was so moist and fluffy! Cappuccino was excellent also. Cute, clean establishment. Friendly & quick service. Reasonable prices for the food we ordered. Convenient location to the main tourist attractions. They also have Wifi and outlets which is a major plus! Yes- I'd definitely go back to this place but maybe order something other than the Irish breakfast.

The Bittersweet Café is totally cute, has quite the extensive drink menu, a breakfast AND lunch menu, and is reasonably priced to boot! Mom and I spent an entire day walking around in Dublin, and stopped here for lunch when we saw their sidewalk chalkboard. I got the advertised Soup and Sandwich special (€5.50): Chicken and Cheese, and Vegetable Soup (Mediterranean was also a choice that day). The sandwich was very tasty, albeit a bit plain: it could use some sauce. The bread was nice and toasty. The soup was very good and piping hot, but I wasn't expecting it to be pureed. Service was very friendly and the restaurant was clean. I enjoyed the cozy yet bright atmosphere. If I were in Dublin again, I'd totally make a return visit!

I arrived in Dublin bright and early: 6:30 am on a Sunday and when walking towards St. Patrick's cathedral I passed by this cafe. I ended up returning as the church service wasn't until 9am and St Patrick's park didn't open until 8am. I had a pepper, spinach and ham omelet (€6.95) which was very filling, but a bit dry so I asked for some mustard to go along with it. I'm sure if I had added cheese it would have been better. The service was quick and many of the baked goods are made fresh in store. The chocolate croissants had just come out of the oven and smelled delicious. The servers are quite friendly. There's minimal seating, but there is wifi and a small bathroom for customers.

On a bitter cold winter day in Dublin, I stumbled upon this Cafe. I ordered a coffee and was so happy with it, I proceeded to order the lunch special, soup and sandwich. The tomato soup was delicious, the best I have ever had. The chicken salad sandwich completed my meal. If I eat this well once a day for the rest of my days, I will die with a smile on my face. Ireland rocks!

We stopped in for a breakfast hoping for something quick. The hole in the wall exterior didn't leave us with super high expectations but man we were pleasantly surprised. My daughter got the omelet and my husband got the traditional breakfast. They were both very tasty and the perfect start to our day. Don't miss this cute cafe with great customer service!

Stopped here every morning to start our day. We got cappuccinos and croissants. Yum! The service every morning was excellent and always with a smile. One day I got a salami sandwich on the way back to our hotel and that was delicious too.

Glad to have found this little gem as we were walking the city centre. Even happier to find their full breakfast menu available all day. Cinnamon French Toast was super yummy with a side of bacon and chai latte while the hubby enjoyed his full Irish breakfast. Friendly atmosphere. Enjoyed!

Since I don't eat red meat, I was very excited to see a vegetarian Irish breakfast option. I ordered this as well as a mocha latte. Despite the rain, my friend and I sat outside since all of the indoor seating was occupied. Thankfully some heaters provided warmth for what could've been a chilly breakfast. Very quickly the lattes came out which my friend and I sipped on. They were soooo cute, mine had the design of a little bear on top! The latte itself was hot and not too sweet, the perfect start to the experience. After a few short minutes, the food came out! Immediately, my friend and I dug in. It was honestly everything I expected and even more! There were no weak links on the plate and there were generous portions as well. I sat there for a while working my way through my delicious plate!! Overall, I was very happy with my experience at Beanhive. It was an aesthetic cafe that also provided a hearty breakfast. I would definitely recommend.

I accidentally dropped the top dollop of the croffin and the staff member was very kind to replace it with a new one, which was not necessary but VERY much appreciated! I didn't wait more than 5/10 minutes. I grabbed a couple of different things for us to try -- the focaccia, morning bun, salted caramel roll, and the cinnamon roll. My favorite was easily the focaccia, which could compete with the best I had in Italy -- so good. The morning bun was good, but nothing crazy exciting. The salted caramel roll had to be the least caramel-y caramel roll I've ever had, but it didn't taste bad and the salted part was interesting (in a good way!). The Cinnamon roll was unique, which I appreciate. It had a big glob of cream cheese frosting (too much for me, but I imagine it would float a lot of folks' boats) and some orange flavoring! I quite liked the orange. I wanted to get a matcha to go, but they said they didn't have disposable cups. You could buy a 5 euro reusable one and then if you brought it back you'd get a refund... interesting, but I was leaving that day and wouldn't be back in the area. I can't speak to the ambiance because we were in and out, but it looked like they had a decent amount of space. All in all, I would recommend this place! For me it was a 4, but I'm sure for some it would bop up to a 5.

Sunken below street level it feels more off the main path and you have to keep your eyes out to find it easily. Walking in the place has a real chill and cozy vibe up front. I was seated right way and ordered off their all day menu. I got their Double Baked eggs, brown soda bread, bacon, sausage and roast tomato. For my tastes the double baked eggs were overdone, but that's double baked for you. Everything else was so delicious though that I truly didn't even notice. It was a wonderful pile of meat overflowing out of a little skillet with a stack of soda bread and butter. Truly it was a delight. I also ordered up their irish coffee. This was especially fun because it's not a simple shot of whiskey, coffee and cream. They create a brown sugar syrup blended with the whiskey to cook off the alcohol but retain the flavor. This means you can day drink and not even bat an eye at it being strange. The flavor was delicious and I'll be trying to recreate this at home for sure.
