However, the chili chicken is quite spicy , we picked level 3. So if you don't like it too spicy, maybe try level 2. The bread was excellent and helped toned down the spiciness. The onion appetizer was good, perhaps a sauce would be a great add. We would love to return and try some more dishes. read more

I've been here a few times now, and ordering different ways. My recommendation is take the lunch combination (not on the menu) unless you've got specific things you want to order. Every time I've ordered the lunch combination, usually chicken for me, I've gotten a variety of chicken and vegetarian dishes that usually includes a biryani, a curry, a dal, naan, a side, and some kind of dessert. This food is good, authentic, and very reasonably priced. Service is quick and polite. The lobby is clean and simple; if I had one point of feedback it would be that the TV is a little too loud. Delicious, every single time. This place is so underrated; it's never as packed as it deserves to be inside the restaurant. They do offer pickup too, which I've used several times. This location has been my go-to Indian spot in Chandler for at least 3 years and I almost didnt want to post this review selfishly because the prices have always been so fair for how tasty the food is! I'd hate for them to raise, but they truly deserve all the public praise I can offer. And let's be honest, I'd gladly pay the higher prices. I loooove biryani pot. I've been here a few times but never left a review. Then I stopped in today with a small group and felt compelled to let people know... They have renovated! It's always been a cozy place but they have changed everything so the decor is more upscale and more comfortable with more booths and different lighting. There are less cultural aspects... I did not notice pictures on the walls. The food is still good and a side benefit is the curries now come with rice. Our waitress was very helpful to bring what we asked for but seemed new as she had to keep asking someone else to find answers to our questions. It was pretty empty for lunch on a Saturday. The best Indian food in the east valley! We've tried nearly every one in the area and while they're all good, Biryani Pot stands out. We always come back to this welcoming spot and even drive from Queen Creek now that we've moved out of Chandler. The quality and consistency is top notch. Small, locally owned business and the food shows the care that goes into it. Flavors are outstanding, the portions are large and the lunch sampler platters are my favorite way to try new dishes without committing to a full entree. My husband swears it's the best butter chicken he's ever had (and we've had Indian food all over the country) and I've tried numerous veg options, with the Dal being my staple. Malai Kofta is also a favorite! The owners are also so kind! Overall high quality food for good price. One of our favorite restaurants in the area and I can't say enough about it! Only minus for me is that food is too spicey compare to other Indian restaurants that I tried. I'm ordering always medium spicey but here is actually more than that. I got the Goat Kurma (savory and not spicy), the Butter Chicken (cannot go wrong with this one) and their House Chicken Soup (kinda spicy but in the nice I-need-to-clear-my-sinuses-but-not-hate-life way). We tried a new appetizer the Chili Gobi, great flavors & taste of course the spices slowly built up as we ate more. For our main course we shared the Chicken Korma with a side of Garlic Basil Naan bread. The bread was terrific & the chicken was very tender. We ordered a " medium" spice & it was very well seasoned & plenty of heat for us, of course I don't believe Indian food was meant to be eaten at a mild spice level. It's been over a year since I've had Biryani Pot and unfortunately tonight just wasn't it for them. Had the navarathan kurma again, which was tasty but definitely not as good as the first time. The flavor profile just wasn't the same, it was lacking. We tried the ginger chicken curry, medium, and it was pretty spicy. The flavor was powerful, just wish it wasn't as spicy. It took away from the delicious flavors in the dish. The veggie samosas were bleh, disappointing and lacked flavor. The sauces that it came with were so watery and lackluster that we didn't even use them. The garlic naan was okay, nothing special, but not bad. Went to this place on a total whim. Having moved to Phoenix a few years ago we still hadn't found an Indian restaurant we really liked, they've all fallen short. We ordered the chicken tikka masala, the lamb biryani, mango lassi, and the garlic naan. The chicken was perfect served on white rice. The biryani was different in appearance and texture than those I've had before, but had an epic flavor with heat that kept building after every bite! Delicious. The mango lassis were pretty rich - unlike so many other places - full favor that did not fade as the glass emptied. The only disappointment was the naan - which was more like a flatbread. My recommendation would be to order everything else, but skip the naan. Can't wait to try their other dishes!! read more

Ever since I had a roommate in grad school from Visakhapatnam, India, I've absolutely loved Indian food. And I've enjoyed it across the US and even overseas in Singapore and London. Biryani Pot's food is solid. Very flavorful, no weird pieces of meat, good consistency ... just solid. The waiter was friendly. The ambiance isn't anything special, which is the only reason I gave it a 4 out of 5 stars. We got the onion pakora, lamb saag, butter chicken, methi chicken, chili fish, some garlic naan, rice, and a mango lassi. I also had a small ramekin of some kind of pickle. This Indian restaurant is very close to my house, yet I never realized how incredibly tasty their food is. I recently tried one veg appetizer, Masala Corn, and one non-veg appetizer, Pepper Chicken Fry, and both were absolutely delicious. The flavors were spot on and exceeded my expectations. "Variety is the spice of life " This event at biryani pot truly sums up this statement. Right from the very appetizer to the main course everything was flavorful and had amazing taste. We were first given chilli gobi and tandoori chicken for starters. Both were very good and loved the taste. Next we were served navratna kurma, Hyderabadi dum Murgh with naan and rice. Both the curries were delicious but the favorite of two was Hyderabadi dum murgh. I can't stop raving about naan, it was delicious and couldn't stop at one for sure. Next, we were given chicken biryani and vegetable biryani. I really liked the chicken biryani, it had such nice flavors, it was on spicy side but the taste took over the spice. I came to Biryani Pot to try some of their Indian specialties tonight. A lot of their signature dishes are from Hyderabad which I really enjoyed since I've travelled there before. First of all, ample parking! This was a plus already from the get go as I was bringing my three month old baby along and didn't have to walk a mile dragging the baby bag production along. I tried multiple dishes tonight but my favourite was the Gobi Manchurian (a cauliflower appetizer), the Chicken 65 biriyani and the Navarathan Kurma (a 9 veggie curry dish). I normally don't order appetizers at Indian restaurants but after trying the Gobi Manchurian, I'm never not going to order it from here. It's incredible. Full of sensational flavor, soft (not mushy) but also crafted in a crunchy batter. Forget a meat curry! The Navarathan Kurma is incredible !! This curry is so smooth in taste. Not sure if it has coconut milk in it but it was delicious. I love all the veggies inside. Paired well with white rice. Only downside to this restaurant was it not being family friendly. There was no baby changing table inside the bathroom. Though my daughter was happy being there, it definitely made me feel more rushed to go home to change her. Drove a distance for this place since it's in the East Valley. Let's just start by saying , definitely worth the drive and every penny. I utilized their online form for ordering. The website is easy to navigate and they even added a discount code. My order included: Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken 65, Goat Fry Biryani, Haleem, Butter Garlic Naan, Samosas. The chicken tikka masala was perfect to spice level as requested spicy! The chicken was nice and tender and bursting with flavors. The chicken 65 was perfect and a different take to the other styles but I was all for it. The goat fry biryani was perfect and definitely a portion for two. I saw the sign for this new Indian place and had to try it. I saw they have curbside pickup for covid precautions which was great. I did some shopping at a local store and my food was ready. I got the garlic naan and the lamb dish with cashews and cream based sauce with rice. My naan seemed dry greasy bad seemed to be missing an ingredient from the menu, the basil. The lamb dish was greasier than I'm used to at other restaurants and the meat was too salty. The dish was flavored and seasoned well and I liked the rice and the cook of the lamb. I ordered the goat Fry Biryani a few nights ago... Medium spice, along with an order of Gobi Manchurian, and garlic butter and basil Naan. Good. God. This was probably the best biryani I've ever had. And there was sooo much of it. I'm STILL eating the leftover rice. And the Gobi Manchurian... Whoa. For some reason I've noticed Gobi Manchurian disappearing from Indian food menus all over the place. So naturally I was really excited and put it on my order as quick as I could. It didn't arrive as crispy as it would have if I had ordered it in-person at the restaurant I'm sure, but it was still so good. I relished every fried and perfectly sauced bite... Even eating the last bit of onion pieces that are in the sauce. The Goat Fry Biryani was incredible too. I've never had Hyderabadi style biryani before, so the sauces were a bit new to me, but the spices were incredible. The goat itself was tender and flavorful. I asked for medium level spice, and they do not put on kid gloves for their customers. I love that my mouth burned the way it should have with an order of "medium" level spice. The garlic butter and basil Naan was really tasty too. I'm used to ordering garlic naan and seeing a green herb of sorts on there (maybe parsley?)... but this is the first Indian food venue that has actually paired basil with their garlic naan that I've ever tried. It was refreshing and tasty. I would love to make my way through the entire menu of hyderabadi dum biryanis... And I wholeheartedly intend to do so over time. I was especially pleased with the fact that I wanted the goat fry Biryani based on other reviewers recommendations, but it was not available on the grubhub version of the menu... So I just specified that's what I wanted in the comments, said a little prayer, and hoped for the best. Lo and behold, when the delivery arrived it said "goat Fry" on the lid. The biryani gods of the Biryani Pot kitchen heard my prayer. Thank you Biryani Pot Chandler. That was truly a delicious meal. I can't wait to order again!
