Definitely a solid 3.5 Were greeted right away and given water Menus came right after that Dishes came promptly Forgot to provide the beer in a timely fashion - it came near the end of our meal The tastiness of the food was okay. We ordered chicken tikka masala and the punta Google and punugulu, plain naan, spicy level medium. We have been to about 10 different Indian restaurants because we really like Indian food. So when I say it was okay it was tasty yet not exceptional. The chicken tikka masala with spicy yet not super flavorful. Restaurant was clean and inviting - Ambiance

Overall we thought the food was very good but the service wasn't great, which knocked it down a star. We ordered some American favorites --butter chicken, paneer tikka masala, garlic naan, samosas, and chicken 65. The flavors were good, but I was really blown away by the chicken dishes. At many Indian restaurants, the chicken is just ok and can be tough. The chicken here was so tender I thought it was paneer for a second! I really loved the chicken in the chicken 65 and the butter chicken, and hope they keep it up! Now onto the service...from the moment we walked in, there was only one other table and several employees. They weren't overly friendly and there were some dining hiccups throughout the meal. When we were seated, we were given one menu for two people and they never took the menu back once we ordered. We also had to ask for a side of green chutney to accompany our samosas, and when the waitress brought it over she spilled half of it on the table and never came back with extra napkins or to help clean it up. The chicken 65 starter arrived at the end of the meal and the waitress didn't acknowledge it, and no one checked up on us after our food arrived to see if we needed anything like water refills. Overall, a great new restaurant with a bright aesthetic that is still working out some service kinks. Once they figure out their service, it will be a 5 star experience for sure!

My favorite South Indian restaurant in Chandler! The place itself is pretty spacious and there are plenty of parking spots. Got to try their plain dosa and pepper chicken. Their dosa was crispy, huge, and I could taste Ghee, it was so good. And chutneys came with dosa was so good. Every single chutney was packed with flavors! And surprisingly, their price is good, as I've seen some places selling plain and smaller dosa for 12-13 bucks, yet their price is so much reasonable. Pepper chicken was good, it was flavorful, but to be honest, their dosa is just the bomb. And chai was sooo good, I've tried chai at here and there, but chai here tasted just like how my Indian friend would make it for me at home. This is going to be my go-to dosa and chai spot!

We've never tried Indian food and this place was close by so we decided to give it a try. We got there at 5:00 pm and by the time we left at 6:00 pm, no one else had showed up. The menu is not descriptive at all, so I decided to google the food before we left. The service was slow, our waiter didn't come by once to check on us. The food came out about 5 minutes apart for all 3 of us so we decided to wait to eat until we were all served. I ordered a rice dish with chicken and there were 2 tiny chicken legs and one thigh buried under a mountain of rice. I'm not sure if that's how Indian food is served, but I found it odd. The portions might look large, but it's mostly rice.

This new Indian restaurant is located At the previous Thai place, it's easy to find and at the right location. The ambiance is decent, nothing out of ordinary. We were welcomed and seated. The service is rather slow for a Friday afternoon, it took a while for them to take the order. We ordered karvepaku chicken, panchakattu chicken fry, panchakattu gobi fry, podi dosa and biryani. All the items were very good, podi dosa came without podi and they corrected it. Overall a good Indian restaurant with some new options and taste.

This is their Health Score Report! Ten violations! Wow!

Whoa!! I've been looking for a good India restaurant and I was all set to try this one! However, they've had 10 Health Inspectio. Violations and a D rating as recently as May 2024! Come on management! Do better! People trust you run your business correctly free from health violations! Do better! Unfortunately, I won't be trying your restaurant until you clean up your act!

We were craving dosa for breakfast, but finding an Indian restaurant open early was a challenge--until Panchakattu came along. They open bright and early, and their breakfast menu is fantastic. We ordered dosa, sambar vada, uttapam, and chicken curry with uttapam, and everything was delicious. The servers were kind and attentive, and the freshly made food was flavorful and satisfying. There's plenty of parking, and the cozy ambiance makes it a place we'll definitely be returning to!

So tasty!

My Favorite Indian Food in all Chandler(and all Arizona too!). Everything is fresh and so tasty. I recommend the Biryani, I regularly get the Chicken Dum one but the Goat one is also really good (If you like Goat). Wash it down with a Salted Lassi. I really like this place! Highly recommend!

We both ordered the Devarayas Grand Thali Special which came with all the protein options (Shrimp, Fish, Chicken, Mutton/Lamb Curries, and Fried Chicken). I really love trying a little of everything so the Thali was the way to go! It's served with white rice, your choice of Chapati (tortilla consistency carb) or Poori (fluffy fried carb), Raitha (sour yogurt), what seemed to be potato salad (which I think was Kuruma Curry), Bagara rice (which was a little sweet to me), and a cinnamon-y dessert. I also got the Mango Lassi (mango yogurt drink) which came in clutch because the Chicken Curry was actually pretty spicy, it definitely helped neutralize the heat. I was so happy to be able to try a lot of the curries available, my favorites were the Shrimp and the Fish. I never had Kuruma Curry before (the potato one) but I actually really enjoyed that one too. My boyfriend's favorite was the Chicken Curry because it was authentically spicy which was reminiscent of his South Indian coworker's cooking. The service here is on point, I want to say 6 or 7 different workers came by to ask if we wanted refills on any of the curries, to offer us more food (we also got a donut-like carb), or to make sure we were good. This was a really fun experience, I'd definitely recommend trying it!

However, when we came back so excited for more it was a weird experience here. We came at 5pm especially to try the banana Bajji listed as an option between 5pm-7pm only to be told it's not available. Then tried to order the Kara Kuzhambu with the lentil dumplings and told lentil dumplings not available anymore only okra/ eggplant option for this. The restaurant vibe felt really odd in general. We kind of felt like they weren't sure if they wanted to be open right now or something. The tables were not clean from lunch and they didn't get back to us when we asked questions. We decided to leave and come back another time given the great first experience. The next day, we decided to try again at lunch when the restaurant seems to do most of the business and I called to double check they have the Kara Kuzhambu with eggplant/ okra options just in case and two people seemed to have no idea what I am talking about. I spelled it, explained it's on the menu and it's a tamarind based curry- nothing. The dish I tried here before was very good and I really appreciate that their menu is marked for allergies and different diets. It seems to be very popular among Indian people and a fun cultural experience at weekend brunch/ lunch. However, the service felt really weird and unwelcoming this time and with the dishes listed on the menu but not being available it was a let down. The waiter told us the banana bajji and the lentil dumplings were discontinued completely so it was a bummer they are still listed on the menu. This confusing and unwelcoming exprience led to a big rating difference from me even though I really liked the food I tried in my first visit as well as the atmosphere. Still happy for that super fun first memory here though! My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back but a decent place 4 stars: Great place. I would go back. 5 stars: I highly recommend stopping whatever you are doing and making plans to try it out! An Evie favorite!

We ordered: -Kathal Bhuna Masala: Baby jackfruit braised in a Mughlai-inspired dry masala - Pudina Paratha: Flaky flatbread with layers of dough, infused with mint leaves The Kathal Bhuna Masala Jackfruit was the star of the show. It was so perfectly cooked and it felt that they used fresh unripe jackfruit. I always enjoy trying unripe jackfruit in traditional Asian dishes that existed before it become commonly used as a meat substitute in dishes. This one was my favorite yet. I really couldn't believe how much I loved it. Perfect texture, perfect flavor, perfect masala spicing. The Pudina paratha was disappointing, especially in comparision to how perfect the other dish was. I thought it would have fresh mint leaves or a strong mint leaves taste but it really felt like a paratha with just very little dry mint sprinkled on it that was hardly noticeable. The jackfruit dish really did make up for it though. They had nice atmosphere her and nice relaxing decor. on the dark ish side. My favorite thing is how the menu is marked super clearly for vegan, vegetarian, gluten -free, containing nuts and containing dairy. So helpful for diners and seems to me that would also be helpful for the restaurant to not have to answer as many questions or have confusions. I wish more places did that for their own sake and for their customers. I came across this restaurant one morning when I was nearby scarfing down pastries at a nearby bakery. From the outside street view and sign, I assumed it wasn't that great and thought I'd see a lot of mixed reviews. To my surprise, there were some pretty loyal customers who raved about it. My husband lived in India for a couple years for work and misses the authentic food. He's had a hard time finding a place he likes. I sent him the restaurant link and he said he wanted to go that night (this is a guy who I can rarely get to a restaurant). Despite being full still from my massive pastries earlier in the day, I went along with an open mind. I wasn't sure I'd eat much though. The inside was quaint, cozy and clean. My husband (who never does this) ordered 6 items off the menu and we shared everything. The food was 11/10. We barely talked during our meal because we were so entrenched in our food. Pretty much the only thing we said was "this is so good." We've both since told several people about this restaurant. We ordered: -Garlic Naan 10/10 -Peas pilau rice 20/10 -Chicken masala 9/10 -Tandoori mixed grill 9/10 -Paneer tikka 9/10 -Daal Maharani 10/10 If I had any negative, it would be I wasn't a fan of the shrimp and the food was a little oily. We didn't get pictures before we started digging in, so I'm not going to post pics of half eaten food.

I've had Indian food all over the world, and this place is in a class of its own. Yes, it's a hole-in-the-wall -- nothing fancy about the space -- but that's part of the charm. What matters is what comes out of the kitchen, and it's incredible. I'm a creature of habit there: the Paneer is always perfect, the Malai Kofta is creamy and delicious, and their Chicken Tikka Masala is exactly what it should be. The samosas are crispy and flavorful, and a cold Mango Lassi is the perfect way to finish a meal. But the real secret? Prete, the owner. He's not just nice -- she genuinely cares about every person who walks through that door. After 20+ years, I'm not just a customer; he treats me like family. That kind of hospitality is rare and it shows in everything she does. If you're looking for authentic Indian food with heart, don't let the humble exterior fool you. Star of India will not disappoint. It's become my standard for what great Indian food should be.

Takeout needed and this place has always caught my eye. They share a parking lot with Sprouts so I've been wanting to stop in. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala ($19.99) and the Khatti Dal ($10.99) for takeout. First of all, that chicken tikka masala was fire. It was aromatic, fragrant, and the spice level was perfect. The khatti dal on the other hand, it wasn't for me. Not to say it was bad, I just didn't quite care for it. Since it was a takeout order, I can't comment too much about the service but this place is massive. Plenty of seating, lots of parking, and great food. I would definitely order from here again.

Not Recommended: food just OK, inconsistent service, and cleanliness concerns…read more We'd driven by this restaurant several times and finally decided to give it a try. Before going, we checked Yelp and were encouraged by its 4.0-star rating. Food Three of us ordered Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Vindaloo, Butter Chicken, and Garlic Naan. Unfortunately, even though we arrived right at opening, they were already out of both of their popular biryanis. The garlic naan was decent but nothing memorable. The Chicken Tikka Masala and Butter Chicken were both flavorful with a nice spice level. The Chicken Vindaloo was another story. While the sauce was good, the chicken itself tasted "off"--not spoiled, but old enough that I chose not to finish it. Cleanliness After our meal, I noticed that the restaurant had received five violations on its most recent county health inspection, conducted about a month ago. While I can't say whether that had anything to do with the chicken, it certainly didn't inspire confidence. The restroom was even more concerning. The sinks and toilets were dirty, both towel dispensers were empty, and the odor suggested it hadn't been cleaned recently. A neglected restroom doesn't leave a good impression about the overall operation. Service On the positive side, the owner/chef was friendly and happy to chat with us. Unfortunately, the rest of the service was disappointing. We spent about 2 1/2 hours there despite being the only dine-in customers, although there were several DoorDash pickups. Our server rarely smiled or engaged with us, spoke so quietly that we often had to ask her to repeat herself, never offered to refill our water glasses, and initially brought a single check after we'd requested two separate checks. She corrected it after we pointed out the mistake. Atmosphere The dining room is attractively decorated and has a pleasant ambiance. Value Prices were reasonable for the portion sizes. The Chicken Tikka Masala and Chicken Vindaloo were each $15.99, and the Garlic Naan was $3.99. Overall Unfortunately, the cleanliness issues, slow and inattentive service, and disappointing Vindaloo outweighed the positives. With so many good Indian restaurants in the area, I can't recommend Passage to India and won't be returning.

My wife opted Bone in brown stew chicken with a side of rice & beans and festivals. The wait for the food to served was reasonable given that it was apparent it had been made fresh upon being served. The fish was deliciously seasoned and lightly breaded. The escovitch sauce was the perfect complement for both the fish and the cabbage. My wife's bone in brown stew chicken was amazing as well the chicken was so tender it was falling off the bone and was perfectly seasoned.
