When we pointed it out, they made no attempt to offer us another dish and just said oh yes, that's ghee (clarified butter) we said the menu indicated it was vegan, but again no response. The two vegans at our table just decided rather than argue, they will share the rice dish, which was also indicated as vegan. As they started to eat it, they realized there were several pieces of paneer in it. I really hope this was a one off because this was one of my favorite places to eat Indian food. Then to my surprise one of the employees approached our table and told us people were waiting and wanting us to leave. I have never felt so insulted by a merchant or dining establishment. We still hadnt drunk our water and I had paid the bill at 2:02pm so it hadnt even been 30 minutes since we were sat for our meal. We sat at a table with both booth seating and chairs. There was just a small space between our table and the one next to us. It took a while for our server to stop by to take our order. Food came out hot and fresh. We each got different starters and entrees from the AZ Restaurant Week menu, so we could all try more dishes. The fried jhinga (shrimp) was good paired with a mint & cilantro chutney. My friend's starter Kutchi Dabeli had spiced peanut in it and was more spicy than we expected. The lamb keema was pretty good, and I typically don't eat lamb. For main dishes, loved the paneer - it had a lot of sauce, which paired nicely with the garlic naan. The murgir johl (bone-in chicken) had good flavor. I was not a fan of the fish curry. For dessert, the popsicle was coated in so many different spices that overpowered the ice cream. The malai ghewar had a nice crunch but tasted too oily. The spicy guava maria cocktail was smoky (from mezcal) and delicious. The sinks and toilets were dirty, both towel dispensers were empty, and the odor suggested it hadn't been cleaned recently.
