Came here to meet a friend tonight and we both thought the other person decided on this place, but since we already sat down and it was quiet and calm inside, we decided to stay. The food was pretty good here, however, I was severely annoyed with the waitress who wasn't really trying to service her customers but wanted to argue for most of the experience here so hence the two stars. Read on to see why I gave a lower rating than I normally would. Since this place is called Tap N Tikka, they had a nice selection of draft beers and I was impressed with their menu, which was on a digital board. The waitress tried to sell me on an Indian brewed beer (for example, Taj) and I just wasnt in the mood for one. Ive been to India several times and have had some of their beers in country. I asked for the Roses by the Stairs Czech Pale Ale and she didnt know if they had it. So I then said, if you dont have Roses by the Stairs, I'll take a Schoner Tag, which is a wheat style Hefeweizen. She then brought me the Schoner Tag, which was a very good beer. Next, we told her we weren't too hungry and mainly wanted to snack on some items and this is where she was being quite annoying. I mentioned the chaat on their menu and thought maybe these would be small bites as these are considered roadside snacks in India, but then she had to tell me oh no they are big portions, so I am like ok... I then saw kati rolls on the menu and thought we could get these and she says oh they are like big burritos, so then I said, well we could cut them in half and share it, but she seemed to think oh they are too big. OK, so after discussing the appetizer menu and couldnt seem to land on much, we now move onto entrees. She then suggests we share a dish, which we were both fine with. She initially suggested Reshmi chicken and said it had a creamy sauce, so we agreed. So, when we finally order the Reshmi chicken, I also asked for a garlic naan to soak up the sauce with and then waitress says oh its not too saucy. So, at this point, I am like whatever lady, can we just order here as you're not being helpful?? Then, she says oh popular dishes here are chicken tikka masala, butter chicken and also bhuna chicken. She said bhuna chicken was her favorite and better than the other two and had a sauce to it, so we finally agreed on this. When the chicken arrived, it came with rice and also we ordered the garlic naan too. The chicken was very good and flavorful, but I doubt it was bhuna chicken as it was a lot more saucy than how bhuna chicken is normally cooked. Bhuna chicken is normally more dry, so I dont know what this waitress is talking about. Garlic naan was so-so and I have had much better elsewhere and for $4.95 a piece, not worth it. I didnt eat much as I was headed to another meal, but did have a bite of chicken for taste and had one piece of naan. We had leftovers and she brought two take away containers. I asked for another container and she wanted to argue about this too. At this point, I just wanted to get out of here. I was like, lady, can you stop arguing with me? The food here was good, but the service was severely ruined by a waitress that didnt know what she was talking about and kept arguing. I thoroughly did not enjoy this experience. And on my receipt, the order was rung up as Butter Chicken and not Bhuna Chicken. With so much competition now (and so hard to earn a dollar and with skyrocketing inflation) and with plenty of other good Indian restaurants around, needles to say, Tap N Tikka, you lost my business and I wont be coming back, thanks to your rude and not knowledgeable waitress.
This is my new favorite Indian restaurant in Arizona. The location is very clean and it's well decorated. The decor is nothing fancy, BUT the food is absolutely wonderful.. We did not have one bad dish. Loved all if them!! I will be coming here again and again. The service very top notch as well. Friendly prompt staff.
Tap N Tikka is a place I've long wanted to try, and I finally took the opportunity to do so. All I can say is, if you love Indian cuisine, don't miss this spot! The restaurant is clean and staff is extremely polite and friendly. They've got quite a comprehensive menu with a lot of traditional favorites, alongside some dishes I've never heard of m, but that piqued my interest. Ultimately, I settled on their garlic naan and chicken vindaloo, both of which were incredible! I love spice, but this dish can get really spicy, so if you're not a big fan of spice I either recommend going very low on their spiciness scale or potentially opting for another dish. All around, an absolutely fantastic experience and I will definitely be back soon!
We always drive by Tap and Tikka and finally decided to try it, so glad we did! It was so good. We got the Chicken Vindaloo and Garlic Naan. We went with medium spice, which was actually pretty spicy, but we love spice so we didn't mind. If you're not a big fan of heat, I'd definitely recommend going with mild. The vibe of the restaurant was cozy and inviting, and the service was friendly, but a little slower than we'd like. I know it was busy but the staff seemed like they were running around a lot. Overall though we had a great experience. The Flavor was incredible, and we're already planning our next visit!
Finally a delicious Indian restaurant close to home! We've dined at Tap n Tikka several times, and truly each time is better than the last. On the weekends during dinner rush, you will see that the place is packed! It's a fairly large dining area with optional bar seating. The bar area is such a vibe with the green and gold accents and gorgeous wallpaper running across the back. Every meal we've had, the food is packed with flavor and an aroma that will wow your senses. The portions are fair, I feel a little more on the rice portion would be reasonable. The naan- fluffy, soft and just can't get enough. The menu is quite large with an array of options for everyone. We've yet to try the dessert, but I'm sure it's great. Great atmosphere, top notch food & friendly service every time.
Hubby found this place for us to stop in for a late lunch after a quick car cruise through Tortilla Flat. Place was clean, and it was a little busy but not too much. This place serves authentic India food & a good variety of adult drinks. We orders the Chicken Manchurian, traditional butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, and garlic naan. I must say, I absolutely loved that they used dark chicken meat in both the butter chicken and tikka masala, because the chicken was so tender and tasty, not what you'd get if the breast meat was used. I usually prefer butter chicken but the tikka masala here was just delicious. It was full of flavor and spivesAlso this was the first time I've tried chicken Manchurian, it was so good, savory with a bit of sweetness, and had a bit of a kick.
Delve into Dehli-ciousness at Tap N Tikka! We went with some friends and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Service was excellent, food was delicious and a nice selection of beers on tap too! I forgot to get a picture of garlic naan and garlic cheese naan but it was delicious! We shared tandoori chicken wings and the two different naan. We had chicken samosas and our friends had the tandoori chicken platter. We were all very satisfied with our choices and are already looking forward to another visit! Parking was right outside the front door. The restaurant was packed when we got there so I'm glad we had reservations! Be sure to check them out! You won't regret it!
Great family lunch spot -- Indian food done right Brought the family in for lunch today and left very happy. Started with the Dahi Bhalla -- soft lentil dumplings soaked in cool, tangy yogurt with just the right hit of sweet and spice from the chutneys. Perfect starter. The Amritsar Kulcha with Chana was a standout -- the kulcha was crisp on the outside, soft inside, and the chana masala alongside it had great depth without being overly heavy. Paneer Zafrani was rich and fragrant (that saffron comes through nicely) -- creamy without feeling like it was drowning in sauce. Garlic cheese naan was a great call too, hot off the tandoor and loaded with flavor -- good enough to eat on its own. Washed it all down with a mango lassi that was thick, sweet, and cooling -- exactly what you want alongside all that flavor. Portions were generous, food came out fresh and hot, and it was a great spread for the whole table to share. Will definitely be back.
My husband and I get food every week, either delivery or dining in the restaurant. It's THAT good! SERVICE The servers and host are always polite and professional. They are friendly, and they provide great recommendations. AMBIANCE The restaurant is casual, but not fast food casual. It's more like date night casual. They have a full bar in case you need some liquid courage while dining with your crush. FOOD The food is delicious every single time. We have ordered: * mixed vegetable curry * korma * mushroom matal * rose ice cream * chai tea * vindaloo * samosa * naan * garlic naan * roti They were all SO good! They came with rice, except the ice cream, naans, samosa, roti, But I recommend confirming with your server if your dish comes with rice. I love that they have a tiered 3 level spice level inquiry. And their mild is not spicy yet flavorful. :-) SPECIALS * happy hour everyday 3:30-6pm * lunch specials Monday to Wednesday 11am-12:30pm
Where to begin? We came for a birthday celebration with some friends. When we arrived I asked about getting some desserts put on our bill for a surprise for the birthday person and was assured this could happen and they would be willing to make it happen. Our first time and now this will become a regular Indian restaurant for us! The smells when you walk in the door are a promise to what you will get on your plates! We started with the vegetarian Samosa, two come in the order. They were spicy and I only ate half but everyone else who are spicy eaters loved them! They came with a mint sauce and another sauce. We got two orders of their garlic naan...some of the best naan we've had. Thin and light and cooked perfectly with lots of garlic and herbs. So delicious! Also I had the butter chicken, based on all of the Yelp reviews raving about it. Ok, singing its praise as well! The chicken is cut into chunks and is so tender, swimming in some of the best butter sauce. I ordered "mild" which was perfect. And because we couldn't choose, we also got the Tandoori Chicken and we ate two pieces there and brought home the rest for the next day. Out of this world! Wife ordered the Paneer Saag, which was so good and rich. Large chunks of Paneer swimming in the saag sauce. Everything comes with jasmine rice and is served in small dishes for sharing. I tried a bit of the garlic chicken another person ordered but didn't taste anything else because they are spice people and everything they got was medium heat! Whimp I am!! Back to dessert; when it came time I asked our server about it and she brought me the menu so I could choose. No "special" birthday service which was fine, I wish they would have told me in the beginning, but ok...ordered the Gulab Jamun, which was honey balls, served warm in a light honey sauce (two in an order) and we also got the Rose Kulfi, which has pieces of rose in the dough. Strong rose flavor and they were ok...couldn't get over the pieces of rose in it. Overall, we loved this place and will come back for the savory foods. We noticed lots of Indian families coming in which tells us it's popular and serving authentic foods. Check it out!!!
Amazing service, amazing food! Our server was really helpful in explaining the best ways to reheat the leftovers, and that they do their entree sizes specifically so you have more to eat the next day.
I've left a five star Google review as well, suffice it to say, this place had been on my list of places to go try, and today I had a second day of celebration, a committed health win, and I decided not to plan a party but to celebrate by myself. I'm pretty sure that the photographs I've taken in the video say most everything about the food, but it's also the service and the attention to find detail that make this a very comfortable find. So whether you're with friends or family, or just want to have a beautiful lunch by yourself... If you enjoy spices and good food, this is a definite placed to try. I'm sure whoever waits on you will be excellent, but if you were extra lucky, you would have the same tall, young gentleman, helping you choose your dishes.
Popped in for lunch at Tap N Tikka, an authentic Indian restaurant in Gilbert. The atmosphere was very casual, and while the service felt a bit questionable when we first walked in, it quickly bounced back and became friendly and efficient. We tried the goat rogan josh and the chicken masala -- both were flavorful and well-spiced, though the chicken dish would have benefited from using dark meat. Overall, a solid local spot with good flavors and worth a return visit. Saluti

This restaurant is a regular in our rotation. Good Indian food can be hard to find, and this place delivers every time. The dining room is open and comfortable, the staff is friendly, and the vibe is relaxed. I haven't had a bad dish here. I usually order the veggie samosas and chicken tikka masala, but this time I tried the Aloo Tikki Chaat and Zafrani Murgh. The Aloo Tikki Chaat comes with two spiced potato patties topped with onions, yogurt, and chutneys. It has just the right amount of heat, a little sweetness, and a cool finish from the yogurt. I'd absolutely order it again. The Zafrani Murgh was packed with flavor. The chicken was tender and juicy, and the saffron gravy was so good I wanted to drink it. My husband ordered his usual chicken vindaloo, which he loves for its bold flavor. We also had the bullet naan and garlic naan. Both came out hot and fresh, with a buttery flavor, soft texture, and a nice chew. The food is well worth the price, and it isn't too expensive. There's also a bar if you want drinks and TVs if you want to catch a game. We'll definitely keep coming back. read more
Came w a friend, who absolutely raves about this place. For mains, we got the chicken tandoori (app), and chicken korma. Chicken tandoori was a bit overzealously charred for a couple pieces, but . Flavors of the chicken korma was very good (would recommend this for people who like butter chicken, and want to adventure a little). My friend also got the coffee, which she said is the best coffee ever?? We were stuffed, but would have chosen one of the tasty desserts. Friendly staff, and good food. They have a full bar and bartender, which is a nice touch. read more
I've been on the search for good Indian food in the valley as I LOVE Jax Spice in Jacksonville when traveling for work, but haven't found a place I love back home. What I Ordered: - Coke: Nothing beats a Coke on a warm August day in Arizona when dining out. - Butter Naan: Warm and freshly made with great flavor. I'd definitely order again, or a cheese naan as that's another one of my favorites. - Chicken Vindaloo (Spice Level: Spicy, just below 911 lol): This had some heat to it, but surprised that it didn't have more. I inquired with the waitress if anyone orders 911, and she said no. She seemed shocked that I didn't think it was spicy. Perhaps it is official? I'm dead inside. Despite the spicy spice level lacking, the food was good. I would return as it is a comfortable location with various booths and table seating. Likely try the 911, and see how much it jumps the heat index to go from their spicy to 911. read more

This place was recommended by many of my coworkers who live in the area. And it did not disappoint. I went for a work lunch and it wasn't very busy. Service was great. Food took a while but that is because they make it all fresh. I had the butter chicken at a medium spice level and it was soooooooo gooooood! Had a great flavor and the spice level was perfect for me. I also had the garlic naan which was also very good. Firm, not soggy and the perfect level of garlic. Side note, I appreciated that the music wasn't too loud and that it was Indian hip hop. It was an interesting change. I liked it. I am definitely coming back to try more dishes. read more

We had a great time at Tap N Tikka. The dish we enjoyed the most is the butter chicken and with garlic naan. It's delicious! We ordered the lamb vindaloo and paratha, we enjoyed this very much. The paratha is stuffed with potato and onion, quite delicious. The mango lassi is perfect, not too sweet. Service was prompt and got seated right away. It has a very laid back vibe to it, kind of the local neighborhood hang out spot serving drinks and great food. read more
I genuinely have no complaints. I love Indian food, and I loved it here. My sister got this chicken and it was the best, juiciest chicken that I've had in a while. I got butter chicken and it was amazing. Great atmosphere, cool decorations, very helpful service. I loved it! read more

Wow! This place was great! I've been to a few Indian restaurants and this one has stood out the most and the first I know to have a great drink menu and draft beers! Our server was so kind and informative and knew everything about each dish. She recommended her favorites and was also able to talk about the meat dishes too, even though she said she was vegetarian. She literally designed our amazing meal, haha. There was a table behind us that had this huge plate of something that looked really good, and when we inquired, it was called the amritsari kulcha which is like a naan stuffed with potatoes. You would imagine a big lumpy dumpling or something, but Oh my gosh, it was so delicious! It was soft and thin and with all the accompaniments, it was so good! While everything we ordered was good, this was the one that stood out the most! If you're looking to explore new cultural flavors and enjoy great drinks, I would recommend to check this place out! There is so much to try! read more

As a Punjabi, I've been searching for truly authentic Indian food in Arizona -- and Tap n Tikka is hands-down the best I've found. Highly recommend starting with the Amritsari Kulcha and the Tandoori Platter. Both were packed with flavor and perfect for sharing. The Lamb Bhuna was another standout -- tender, rich, and cooked just right. For dessert, the Gulab Jamun with homemade ice cream was incredible. Honestly one of the best versions I've had. The place isn't fancy, but the food is legit and the vibe is comfortable. Great spot to bring the family and enjoy a really good meal. read more

We went here for the first time Friday night for our date night. As soon as we walked in we knew it was going to be incredible. They were packed and it smelt amazing. They were having a huge party of over 30 plus people which threw off the service but the manager more than made up for it by giving us our food on the house and let me tell you we weren't disappointed. I got tikki masala medium and I do wish it would have been more spicy as to me it wasn't spicy at all but the flavors were still on point. If you are thinking about coming here do it you won't regret it. read more

Came in here around 12pm on a Sunday and the place was about half full. Nick our server was a pretty nice guy. Spicyness levels are on the mild side and probably targeted towards the local demographic. We got the 911 spice level for the butter chicken and the spicy for the Lamb Curry. If you are used to the more traditional spice levels, just go full send and get the 911 spice level. I'd say it's about a medium/mild in the realm of southern India spicy levels. The Lamb in the biriyani was a little on the dry side, but overall the seasoning/flavor was good. The chicken and lamb in the Rogan Josh were very tender. Curry flavor was on point. read more

Their menu is extensive and the service is kind, quick, and they give great recommendations.tried the veggie samosas, lamb Rogan Josh, butter chicken, roti, naan, pickles, and masala chai. I would 100% order everything again! Pickles were small but glad I tried them, very tart and unique. Lamb was very tender and flavorful and the rice was fluffy. Chai was too hot to drink for most of my meal but sooo good! I can't wait to go back and try more. read more

CONSISTENT, CONSISTENT, CONSISTENT!!! Rock solid top of the line Indian cuisine! When I want a flavorful meal, there are only a few places that come to mind, and Tap N Tikka tops that list. First and foremost, the service is amazing. After a friendly greeting upon entering, our waiter never missed a beat. Refills were swift, different to-go boxes were selected for each item and promptly delivered to our table, great service! Ambience is great as well. Very comfortable with nice lighting and a bar stand! If all that sounded great, hold on to your rocker grandma, cause the food is to die for! We started with the samosa's. Crispy on the outside, warm and delicious on the inside. You get two sauces with these, the green one is my personal favorite. We followed that up with Chicken 65, Chicken Biryani, Chicken Tikka Masala, and garlic cheese Naan. Chicken 65: Crispy, spicy, stunning: Chicken 65 is similar to buffalo wings, but with a major, flavorful twist. Served with veggies as well! Chicken Biryani: A blend of flavorful, spiced rice and chicken, a perfect combo! Chicken Tikka Masala: (served with a white rice) My personal favorite when topping their white rice, the tikka masala is creamy and delicious. Garlic Cheese Naan: Fluffy, warm, cheesy, their naan bread is delightful. Also, when here, do yourself a favor and order a Taj Mahal Lager with your meal, REALLY pairs well! In conclusion, this restaurant is an easy 5/5 for me. Great food, great ambience, great staff, great service and a must stop for anyone in the Gilbert area. read more

I was craving Indian food and remembered seeing this place somewhere so we decided to give it a try. It's a unique restaurant that adds a nice bar atmosphere to Indian food. They have a wide selection of Indian beer, wine, and signature cocktails with Indian spices. I ordered a mango mint julip and loved it. The samosas were delicious, especially the green chutney. The chicken korma (medium spice) was also really good. Not too spicy but I could definitely taste the kick. I'm glad this is in my neighborhood and I'll definitely be back soon! read more
