Chicken Vindaloo did not taste good at all, not even the sauce. Biryani could have been better too, especially for a place that has it in its name. I saw the sign for this new Indian place and had to try it. I saw they have curbside pickup for covid precautions which was great. I did some shopping at a local store and my food was ready. I got the garlic naan and the lamb dish with cashews and cream based sauce with rice. My naan seemed dry greasy bad seemed to be missing an ingredient from the menu, the basil. The lamb dish was greasier than I'm used to at other restaurants and the meat was too salty. The dish was flavored and seasoned well and I liked the rice and the cook of the lamb. Biryani Pot is delicious! It is me and my uncle Quinn's favorite spot for Indian food! They can make the dishes mild or spicy or anywhere in between which is great for us -- as I love spice and my uncle does not. The samosa are always so fresh and the mint sauce they give with it goes perfectly. Definitely try the garlic naan! Stopped by here when was in the area to a pleasant surprise. Even though they didn't have a lunch buffet, the lunch special today of chicken kadai was amazing. The spices were excellently used and provided a joyful experience in the mouth. The menu has a variety of offerings, the service was attentive, and the prices we very reasonable. I recommend this restaurants who is looking not only for great Indian Food, but Indian food very different from other restaurants in the valley. read more

The single gentleman, who did host, order taking & cashier duties, was friendly and attentive. The garlic basil naan was typical, but it paired well with the Apollo fish which was quite savory. The chicken 65 biryani was tasty as well, after a good mix to bring up the sauce and meat from the bottom of the bowl. We will be back to try other dishes. read more

Last year when covid hit, And we were under a lockdown.. I would always crave comfort Indian food. I came across Biryani Pot around that time and boy was I delighted. Their double ka meetha, butter chicken and tandoori chicken were so tasty and true to the roots, that I pushed my friends to get take outs from this place. It was a delightful surprise in an another wise scary and uncertain year. Before I ruin it for you, let me tell you that Biryani Pot was the only place in Arizona ( last year ) which had a thick butter and tomatoe gravy based butter chicken, which had the perfect orange color and perfect seasoning. Other South Indian pretending to be north Indian restaurants in Arizona sell a yellow-ish cream based water like butter chicken which is such a disservice to the dish. North India has proudly invented the dish and any North Indian will agree that the real butter chicken is not water consistency. Not overly cream based. And def not yellow in color. ( I am not being biased, I will criticize a North Indian restaurant if they ruined a perfectly good South Indian delicacy too ) 1 year later I visited the place again to try some of the things I had grown so fond of. The butter chicken and the tandoori chicken. And I am sad to say the butter chicken is nowhere what it was. It was no better than one of the cheap knock off versions you can get in any Indian restaurant around here. So disappointed. To make matters worse, my hands had a yellowish tint after eating the food. Also, let me share a few words about the tandoori chicken. Last year, biryani pot had such a unique take on tandoori chicken. They had a nice layer of masala on the chicken which made it so tasty. I was surprised others don't do it. But this time around it was a colored piece of chicken which was okayish. It wasn't down right bad but I miss the creative biryani pot chef froM last year. I guess there has been a change of cook at this establishment. I sincerely hope that the restaurant was just having an off day the Sunday when I visited. This review has been pending a while Newly opened Indian restaurant in chandler area and I had to check it out. The inside was nice and clean but we got our food to go. We loved the biryani so much that we have been regulars since. The lunch combos run through Tuesday thru Friday and are $10. We also tried the chili chicken, chowmein, many of the chicken entrees like the tikka masala, house special etc the star for us is the biryani it does live up to the name. This review should have been written a few months ago. The food always used to be decent so this restaurant became part of our regular staple. So much so that my kids wanted Indian food for their birthday party. So I order almost $300 worth of food. I get there and there was no rice. I was informed that as of last week, rice doesn't come with the meal. Well..... if someone is ordering $300 worth of food and you just changed the policy, wouldn't it be common sense to let the customer know?? They wanted $2 each rice times 20 entrees. My mom and I got the Goat Fry Biryani. It was clearly amazing. We also got the gobi manchurian, chicken 65 and sweet corn soup. My dad ordered the mixed veg kadai. Everything was medium spice excluding the soup which was mild. If you can handle spicy but don't like water with every bite this was a great spice level! The manchurian was an 8/10 and chicken 65 a 7/10. both delicious but some improvements to be made! I would order the manchurian again but maybe try a different chicken dish just to try! not bad at all though. if you're wondering about ordering it I would just to try for yourself. the sweet corn soup I wouldn't order again. not exactly what I had in mind in taste but still I ate it with a few additions at home. my dad hasn't tried his dish yet, but he gobbled up the manchurian and gave it a 10/10. Overall if I had to order one think from here again it would WITHOUT a doubt be the goat fry biryani. so damn flavorful. Next time I would love to try the chicken dum since it's their house special. Aside from this, place looks nice even though we ordered pick-up. The host was very kind and answered all of our questions. I've eaten at Biryani Pot in both Chandler and Phoenix, but I really like this location. The dining room has many different styles of seating options and the high-top in the middle is very nice if you have a group. One thing that both locations have: the same good taste! Biryani Pot specializes in Hyderabadi dum biryani Indian style cuisine which is not easy to find in the Valley. Simply stated, this is some of the best Indian food I have had! The butter chicken and garlic basil naan are mouthwatering. I could eat these all the time. The other new discovery for me here was the Hyderabadi Chicken Dum Biryani. There are so many variations of Indian dishes that I did not discover until I dined here. I personally love spicy but I know many people are leery. The good thing is that the spice level in Indian dishes is not consistent and you can always communicate your preference (the default is medium spicy). While Biryani Pot does not have a liquor license (yet!) they do sell an Indian cola called ThumsUp. It's imported directly from India and has a special flavor. I felt that it complimented the dishes quite nicely and is worth trying! The owners of Biryani Pot are great and eager to speak to and educate their customers. As I learned, Hyderabadi Biryani is characteristically distinct. The aroma, taste, tender meat, the Zaffran, everything gives it a distinguished appearance. Those who have tasted Lucknow Biryani may find Hyderabadi a bit familiar. Both biryanis belonged to the Mughal regime, yet down south the food is laced with local spices. I have to say that the owners are so friendly. Ask for them! Besides dine-in, takeaway, delivery, and catering are all available. Went here for a yelp elite squad event and got to learn about their origins and some methods of cooking Indian cuisine. I was very impressed with the affordability and cannot wait to come back for a try of their desserts! ALL OF THEM! Of all the dishes we sampled, I would have to say that I was the hugest fan of Hyperbadi Dam Ka Mung (I think it was a form of their vegetable curry). We also tried the chicken 65 which was spicy and semi sweet. It was very flavorful as an appetizer...not sure I could eat as a meal without rice to mellow out the flavor. We also got garlic naan which was tasty. Last we got chicken tikka masala and butter chicken. We get this whenever we go out for Indian food and I have to say this was average at best and our least favorite thing we ate here. Nothing stood out as far as flavor. This was the worst Indian food I have ever eaten. We ordered Samosas, Vindaloo Shrimp and Chicken Kababs. The Samosas were ok. The Vindaloo shrimp was not spicy and there were about 8 very small shrimp and about 4 potato chunks. The rest was just so-so sauce. The kabab was the worst - basically just sautéed chicken with a few pieces of green pepper & onion. Spices were completely missing, the chicken was NOT grilled s a kabab should be and a skewer was nowhere to be seen. The was $37 and included NO RICE or naan. The rive was $2 extra - how cheap!!!
