Maybe this is better if eat it in person but for delivery, the food was dry. The chicken was dry and bland. We tried it in burrito form and in sandwich form but were left disappointed. The Hashbrowns were pretty okay. That was the only thing I liked. The burrito was better once we added some salsa to it.

Ordered online this time. Can't give much information about service. Didn't stay to eat but there's lots of room inside to enjoy. Came back again after $5 off. Chicken tenders were ok. Basic standard chicken. Breading cooked a little much.

Every time I order this they always forget something. Today I got everything but wow what poor quality. I think I'm done with this location all together.

So glad I found this place through Yelp. It's right near my office and has awesome chicken sandwiches. I tried the crispy chicken sandwich and it was so moist, but had the right amount of crunch. I also liked the coleslaw and sauce that was in the sandwich. It wasn't messy and it added so much flavor. I got the chocolate shake, which was very tasty thick and creamy. I got a drink to go, and I tried their coconut seltzer water, which was really good as well. You get a lot of good food to eat for a decent price. It's nestled inside a Whole Foods so I almost missed it. There is an outside patio where I sat under a shady tree on a warm sunny day, so it was a perfect quick lunch.

Even though it's busy- they don't give attention to to-go orders. Here is a pic of my fries ordering to-go and 10 piece nugget..

Came here for an easy lunch with kids before museum visit. It is interesting since it is very techie with kiosk terminals for ordering and a large electronic board showing the time status of your food by name. We ordered a large salad three kids nuggets meals and a chicken sandwich another bonus is that nuggets and fries and tots are cooked gluten free for celiac intolerant persons. Sadly the nuggets were over cooked and a bit dry the salad with quinoa and a curry sauce was good and the sandwich was also plain and a bit overcooked

We got two sandwiches right before a Rockies game - the location was perfect. We got off the train at Union Station and walked right over to Whole Foods and had our pickup order ready. I got the Rancher sandwich (All-natural crispy chicken, bacon onion jam, white cheddar, and Bird-B-Q Sauce) which is always such a pleaser. My husband got the K-Pop, which was delicious!! The fried chicken was perfectly glazed and the kimchi coleslaw was delicious. Always love going to Birdcall for a fast casual lunch or dinner.

I don't love that it's located in a whole foods but my boyfriend and I really enjoyed this place, both chicken sandwiches we got were delicious, the fries were so good too. The only thing I didn't love that I got was the milkshake, it wasn't bad but just not a great milkshake for me (my boyfriend liked it though)

This place was so much be on my expectation, an awesome! To begin with, it is conveniently located inside the Whole Foods by the union station. It offers a combination of fried chicken and tenders as well as delicious salads, not to mention beer on tap. There are plenty of sitting next to it so you can choose to enjoy your meal there or take away. The other system was efficient . You use a kiosk to order and you can show the progress on the big screen. I love the chicken, tender that came with different options of sauces . It is not overly greasy or dried out. My kale salad was amazing, too packed with fresh ingredients in a balance of crunchy and soft veggies. The price was fair as well. For the portion, I even had a little left over for the second day. Overall, this is a must try not to mention convenience of being inside a Whole Foods store, and you can easily go grab dinner after a grocery run.

HOT DAMN! I've gotta say I was skeptical of the Birdcall hype. How can a chicken sandwich be THAT good. Well, after my inaugural dinning experience here on Wednesday - I get it. In fact I have already gone back... In the same week. That's right, twice in the first week. Let's talk about why: Star #1: The ordering system! Whoa! It's so smooth. You order at a kiosk where you can enter in exactly what you want and customize it to the way you want. Love it! Star #2: The pickup process! Once you place your order, it will update on a screen showing the order queue and an approximation of how long left before your food is ready. After it's ready it will update with a bay number, and you proceed to the cute hexagon shaped pickup bays. Star #3: The staff! So friendly and helpful. During both of my visits, they have always been so awesome. From offering help at the ordering kiosks, to ensuring I have all the condiments I could possibly need with my meal - they really go the extra mile. Star #4: The bevvies! Want a delicious iced tea? You got it. Want a soda? Sure, go for it. Craving a craft brew? Yeah, buddy they got that. What about a milkshake. Oh yeah their milkshake brings you to the bar. Haha! They def got all the beverages you need to wash down that delicious meal. Star #5: The food! YUM! I've noshed on the Deluxe (all-natural crispy chicken, bacon, pepper jack cheese, tomato, lettuce, and buttermilk herb mayo). The first time, I removed the buttermilk herb mayo and added the spicy mayo. Oh yeah, that's the jam. The second time, I spaced out my drool-worthy substitution, so I grabbed a side of spicy mayo when I picked up my order. Well, that made a delicious way to eat my fries. Highly recommend. Given that I find myself hungry in downtown Denver several days a week now, I know I will be back more often than not. So excited to be a Birdcall convert! Cluck Yeah!

    Nashville. Extra hot
    Jenn W.

Nashville hot - extra hot! Pretty legit chicken sandwich for under $8 dollars. I also decided to be healthy and get their "fresh start" breakfast sandwich one morning which definitely had quality ingredients. Best part of this place is drinking in a Whole Foods. Next best part is when they have their happy hour and beers are $2 off. Beers are already super cheap here to begin with.

While their standard menu doesn't feature an overwhelming number of pre set vegan combinations, the build your own bowl option opened up a world of delicious possibilities. I ordered a custom bowl featuring a base of soft, perfectly cooked golden quinoa, layered with sweet potatoes, corn salsa, pickled onions, avocado, roasted tofu, a warm portobello mushroom mix, and a generous drizzle of spicy cashew dressing. Every single element hit the mark: the tofu and mushrooms were cooked to absolute perfection, the corn salsa added a vibrant punch of flavor, and the golden quinoa provided a wonderfully comforting base. However, the true star of the meal was undoubtedly the spicy cashew dressing. It struck an ideal balance of sweet and spicy without ever becoming overly aggressive or overbearing in the bowl. Beyond the food, the restaurant itself made for a great dining environment, having a clean interior with plenty of seating options. But it's fine, it's a quick service restaurant, and it was during the lunch hour. My main critique is for corporate-- I think y'all have a little more work to do on the new wraps. I tried the KBBQ, and the flavor of the sauce and chicken was good, but I was expecting there to be some greens in there. And it was kinda a little too saucy, and it didn't feel like it was wrapped tight enough. I think wraps are good additions to the menu, but keep workshopping it!

Well, before 6:00 at night, they had run out of the rustic loaf bread that both of our sandwiches (the Ridgeline and the Fourteener) were supposed to come on. In fact, due to a lunch rush, they had run out of the rolls several hours earlier. I guess they don't make more bread if they run out...maybe they don't make their own bread at all, but it was disappointing for a sandwich shop to run out of bread. Shouldn't that be a staple for a sandwich shop? We ended up having to just go with regular bread. I had wheat, while my daughter had sourdough. Again, don't get me wrong...both sandwiches were fine, but paying $14 for a sandwich on two slices of bread just doesn't seem worth it to me. Adding in chips and drinks (from a fountain machine where the Coke Zero exploded on you, and the Diet Coke seemed flat) for $40 wasn't a great deal. We started with the focaccia (with the ricotta and honey on the side) and it was so tasty. My partner doesn't normally like ricotta, but loved this dish! Then, we had the melon salad (very refreshing). We were celebrating our anniversary, and the staff brought out complimentary glasses of bubbly rosé, as well as their special dish, which were the stuffed squash blossoms. This was a really thoughtful touch! For mains, we ordered the tagliatelle with lobster (this dish had a tiny bit of spice, which was fine for us but might catch someone else off guard), and the lamb loin. Both were excellent. Overall, we had a great time! We found easy street parking nearby, as well. My only downside would be that, because this restaurant is so popular, there are lots of diners, which makes for a pretty loud atmosphere. However, this just speaks to how good everything is, so if you think about it, perhaps it's a good sign!

Tavernetta seems to be one of the more popular restaurants in Denver, and reservations were…read moresurprisingly difficult to find even 3-4 days ahead. I was eventually able to snag an 8 PM reservation on Sunday, which was a little late for us considering we had a very early flight the next morning. We came here Sunday evening after I finished the Boulderthon Half Marathon -- my second year running it. This time I was visiting Colorado with family who were here for the first time. Parking was actually much easier than expected. Since it was Sunday, we found free street parking around the corner, only about a three-minute walk away. One thing to know: Tavernetta's entrance is tucked around the corner rather than directly facing the street. You have to walk down what feels almost like a little corridor or alleyway to reach it -- see the photo. I was only able to reserve seating on the covered outdoor patio. Tavernetta definitely has a fine-dining feel, and the prices reflect that, but I wanted to see what all the hype was about since I'd never been before. For starters, we ordered the focaccia with ricotta and BC honey, which was an additional $4. The bread was very good, and I especially liked it with the ricotta and honey. It was flavorful without feeling too heavy. For the salad, we shared the Melone e Cetrioli for $18, with cucumber, watermelon, arugula, goat cheese, and black garlic vinaigrette. I chose it because the watermelon and cucumber sounded refreshing, and the goat cheese seemed lighter than some of the richer options on the menu. That turned out to be a good call. The arugula worked nicely with everything, and overall it was fresh, light, and not overly filling. For my main, I ordered the Rigatoni for $34 with lamb ragù and Pecorino Romano. I'd never had a lamb ragù before -- usually I've had beef -- so it was something different. There was more pasta than meat, but the lamb flavor still came through. I'd probably give the dish itself around a 7.5/10. Good and interesting, but not something that completely blew me away. Others at the table ordered the Tagliatelle for $38 with Maine lobster, Calabrian chili, preserved tomato, and celery. I tried some, and that one was excellent. It had a little heat, plenty of tomato and vegetable flavor, and the lobster worked really well with it. It was slightly creamy too. On second thought, I actually liked that dish more than my own -- probably around a 9/10. Service throughout the meal was very good, and I liked the little details too, including the very thin glassware they used for water. The whole experience definitely felt more polished and upscale. Overall, Tavernetta was expensive, but it felt like a genuine fine-dining experience. My own entrée wasn't spectacular enough for me to call the entire meal perfect, but several other parts of the meal were excellent, especially the focaccia and tagliatelle. It also made for a pretty satisfying post-race dinner after Boulderthon, when my legs were definitely feeling the miles. I'd gladly come back if I'm in Denver again -- and next time I might just order the tagliatelle myself. Last visited: September 27, 2026
