Leaving Denver, we wanted to grab a quick bite before the long drive back to Oklahoma. A little Yelp and Google searching led us to Birdcall, and overall it turned out to be a pretty good stop. One thing to know before you go: Birdcall is located inside Whole Foods, and parking can be a challenge. We were fortunate enough to grab a spot right out front, fed the parking meter, and headed inside. My biggest complaint has nothing to do with the food. I'm just not a fan of being my own cashier and order taker. I know plenty of people like kiosk ordering, but it's not my thing. We actually had to work our way through the menu a few times before finally getting our order entered correctly. Once the food arrived, things improved considerably. We ordered one of the meal bundles that included fries and a drink. My chicken sandwich was flavorful, juicy, and surprisingly satisfying. The fries were good, and the lemonade paired nicely with the meal. If we hadn't been trying to get back on the road, I think this would have been a much better experience enjoyed at the restaurant instead of eating in the car. While the parking situation and self-ordering process weren't my favorites, the food was definitely the highlight. If I find myself back in Denver--or come across another Birdcall location--I would happily give it another try. read more

After our first Uber Eats order completely FUMBLED and never delivered our food, it was too late in the evening on a Thursday night to get anything feasible or somewhat tasty, then I saw that Birdcall was open and that we've been seeing ads for them during our entire stay, so I thought, "Why not?". Especially since it's a fast food chain that I haven't seen in CA. We got the: 1) Bird in a Box Combo - Slider Duo: -You get to choose 2 of any of their sliders, a choice of fries or tots, choice of house made sauce (we got their Birdcall sauce and their Sriracha Aioli), and a side of pickles. We got the fries. -For our sliders, we got the extra hot Nashville Hot and the Deluxe. -The Nashville Hot, you can get regular hot or extra hot. So we got the extra hot and this one comes with sweet pickles. -The Deluxe comes with bacon, pepper jack, tomato, lettuce, and herb mayo. 2) Bird in a Box Combo - Slider & Tenders: -This comes with one slider and 2 tenders (can either be regular or Nashville hot). I got the tater tots with this. - I got regular tenders and for the sauce I got their sriracha aioli. For the slider, I got their Lux, which is their all natural crispy chicken tendie with dill pickles, shredded romaine, bacon, and herb mayo on a lobster roll. Tater tots and fries are standard. I'd say the same that you'd get from a mid tier fast food. Worst was the fried chicken was dry on the outside and on the inside. Breading was doughy and hard too. You can barely taste any difference between any of the sliders, even with the toppings and sauce. It was that dry. Tenders were even worse because there wasn't enough sauce to mitigate the dryness. We got some of the cherry cream soda. Was surprised it wasn't a darker color, but it's not bad. Not too sweet, refreshing with our generally disappointing dinner. Maybe it was a bad batch, but honestly doesn't hold a candle near any of the big chicken sandwich contenders like Popeye's or Jollibee's. read more

Located inside Whole Foods. You enter through the normal entrance of Whole Foods. You'll follow the left side (facing the store) and you'll find the place where you can place your order. It's all kiosks. The kiosks will allow you to place your order of food, sides, and drinks. Easy experience. After ordering, you can browse the store or wait at the dining area. I love that there is a digital display to show where your order is at. Sets expectations for you. I waited at the stools by the bar. After the food is ready, the display will show which "bay" it is in - a honey comb display. You can eat inside (lots of seating). And outside. Great spot to chill and people watch! Food is good. So glad I found this place through Yelp. It's right near my office and has awesome chicken sandwiches. I tried the crispy chicken sandwich and it was so moist, but had the right amount of crunch. Came here for an easy lunch with kids before museum visit. It is interesting since it is very techie with kiosk terminals for ordering and a large electronic board showing the time status of your food by name. You use a kiosk to order and you can show the progress on the big screen. I love the chicken, tender that came with different options of sauces . It is not overly greasy or dried out. My kale salad was amazing, too packed with fresh ingredients in a balance of crunchy and soft veggies. The price was fair as well. For the portion, I even had a little left over for the second day. You order at a kiosk where you can enter in exactly what you want and customize it to the way you want. Love it! Star #2: The pickup process! After it's ready it will update with a bay number, and you proceed to the cute hexagon shaped pickup bays. Star #3: The staff! So friendly and helpful. During both of my visits, they have always been so awesome. From offering help at the ordering kiosks, to ensuring I have all the condiments I could possibly need with my meal - they really go the extra mile. Star #4: The bevvies! Want a delicious iced tea? They have a few bar stool seatings around the shop, and there are more benches available in the whole food general area where you can sit down and eat. The servers are friendly and helpful, but seriously I don't see what all the fuzz is about. I tried the chicken strip and chicken nugget. Honestly, this wasn't bad, but a little underwhelming. Chicken was a little dry across the board, but the breading had a nice flavor and seasoning. Since it was part of whole foods I didn't have too high expectations for it and I wanted to try it so my boyfriend and I shared a nashville hot chicken. After taking one bite each, we both regretted not getting our own. We ending up stopping by a second time later that day and each got our own sandwich this time around. Thats how much we enjoyed it. With research later, I found that they actually have an additional 2 locations that are stand alone stores. I would've ate here a third time but figured I should try other spots out too.
