Been watching goofy sub shop videos online and had to get an Italian sub fix. Hadn't been to Subculture since I lived in the area. The "Italian Deli" was so good. Peppers were a great addition. This shop is back in pole position for local joints. Service was nice and helpful- A+. You pick a jumbo playing card for your table marker and if you get the Joker your sub is free. No clue if the Joker is actually among the fanned out cards but that was fun. Good vibes abound (ambiance). read more

I used to come here all the time mainly because of their gluten free bread. I just went today and it was horrible. I'm not sure if vendors changed or how the bread is made has changed but it wasn't worth the price at all. I understand inflation is happening and I'm okay with paying more if the quality is there but it isn't anymore in my opinion. Edit: since the owner wanted to give a passive response to my updated review. As a long time customer I have noticed a decline in quality. That's just my observation, the quality of the gluten free bread is not what it used to be and not worth the price anymore. read more

Stopped in for a quick sub for lunch and was not disappointed. I ordered the Italian Deli half sub sandwich. It was great, no complaints. It was actually very filling for a "half" sub. If I had ordered the large, I do not think I would be able to finish it. I waited for my order and it was ready in like 7-8 minutes. Not a bad wait. I also love the old building, see the photo they have of the building in its previous life as a garage. Great use of an old building. I was lucky to get one of the very few parking spots in front of the building, otherwise it is all street parking. I could see parking being an adventure during busier hours. Walking around Denver and saw a sign for $5 veggie, $6 meat breakfast burritos. Obviously got excited! Walked in and got a ready to go burrito. The veggie was a little smaller. The meat, chorizo or ham, was much bigger. Both tasted excellent!! Definitely coming here again! Lady up front was super friendly and gave advice! Cute spot... I'm new to Denver and this might have to be my new sandwich spot! So many options on the menu and tons of vegetarian options. I got a half east side which filled me up for lunch but a whole would be great for leftovers. The vibes are amazing and there are some board games and a dart board inside. We had two different subs from SubCulture and they were both very good! The atmosphere was very fun and the service was very good. I really enjoyed the piggy back sub and I'd have it again when I go back to sub culture. The wait was about 10 minute after our order which wasn't bad for a busy Saturday. My go-to sandwich spot. Always excellent. Every conceivable combination, fresh bread, friendly service, immaculate vibes.

Lots of options including veggie options and there's gluten free bread too, and some alcoholic drinks on tap and in cans. In nice days, the patio is a great option and if you're here before 2pm the coffee shop next door is open too. There's limited parking but in most cases there are options in the street and I guess many of the guests are Cap Hill locals anyway. I recommend the Alps sandwich, it's a veggie sandwich with Portobello mushrooms, cream cheese and other stuff - really good. The service was a little weird but overall no complaints, it's not bad at all. read more

We stopped here because we ended our Molly Brown tour as soon as the lunchtime hunger pangs hit, and this was within the asking distance. I don't like being hangry or dealing with hangry people. I wasn't expecting anything amazing, but let me tell you...SubCulture delivered! Their menu is ginormous. There's something for everyone. I had the soup and salad combo, and can tell you that the creamy tomato soup is divine, and my Italian sub was primo. I learned that I'm terrible at darts, as well. Their customer service is epic, and they go above and beyond to make things right. Plus, your table marker is a giant card from a deck of cards. If you pull the Joker, your meal is on them! I ordered the piggyback on gf bread and it was overall pretty good but the gf bread was a bit too sweet for me so it kind of threw off the overall flavor profile, but the sandwich fillings were tasty. One thing I found a bit annoying was that the bread was not cut into two full slices so the ingredients were spilling out the entire time. However, if you are not gf, then I'm sure none of these issues will apply. read more

Thanks Tried Subculture for the first time, while the sandwich was very tasty; I ended up getting food poisoning yesterday into today. (Le Big Wac Beef & Special Sauce): Really delicious! Marinated, braised beef with a sauce. This was my favorite one (Piggyback): Turkey, bacon which is my typical go-to at sandwich shops, but it was a tiny bit dry to me. And there's ample seating in the restaurant. The staff is also nice and helpful! My one annoyance is I wish they had a to-go bag that fit the sandwiches better, they stick out the end. I appreciate that they're not plastic though, but a larger bag to carry multiple sandwiches in would be helpful. I would go more often if they were open later. read more

This just may have made our top sandwich spot!! The ambience is chill and the patio is dog friendly. There is a small parking lot so you may get lucky, otherwise choose to use street parking. The menu is a bit overwhelming but in a good way. There are many options for all. The vegetarian options are amazing and made my heart smile. They also have soup options but there were only two options: mushroom or tomato. So if you're a soup person you may want to ask the soup flavors for the day. I ordered the 12 inch meltdown for my wife and I. I subbed the grilled onions for raw and took off the tomato. I also added lettuce and pickle for flare. This sandwich was amazing. We were waiting for a guided tour of the Molly Brown House. A volunteer in the gift shop suggested SubCulture which is two doors away. The first thing we noticed is how big the menu is! Not only a big menu on the wall but there are many, many choices! My wife and I both ordered half subs. When they were brought over to our table we both thought, "We ordered half subs, not whole subs." We were wrong. SubCulture's half subs are the size of full size subs at sub shops in our hometown in Massachusetts. Not only were they big, but they were stuffed and totally delicious!
