My daughter and I were driving down from our home in Grand Lake and we were starving and since my daughter had a delicious salad at Rudy's on her way up, we decided to order sandwiches and Sweet Gene called me to make sure that I knew that with an allergy like onions of which I had that I could not have the spinach wrap. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was particularly disappointing. The customer service was the worst I have ever encountered. The woman taking our order, wearing glasses and a braided ponytail was curt, visibly frustrated, and made us feel unwelcome. She seemed so put out and talked down to us. There is an option to "make your own" order rather than selecting a pre-made item. However, when I attempted to do so, I was told no and the response was delivered in a notably rude manner. Despite repeating my order multiple times, it was still prepared incorrectly. Unfortunately, the food itself did not make up for the experience. The bread was dry and of poor quality. Loved, loved, loved! We ordered our sandwiches inside and they took less than 10 minutes. I had the veggie wrap. It was so full of goodness! Roasted red peppers, artichokes, cucumber, lettuce, tomato, feta and basil pesto. I got the macaroni salad side and that was delicious, as well. A lot of food for me, but it was so good, I finished. It is ver unfortunate I have to write this. For the second time this month Rudi's has let me down. However this time they just do not understand what's happening. For the record the manager did refund my order... and now for the why: I place an online order over an hour before my arrival. Literally an hour and 30 minutes before my arrival and with a scheduled pickup time. Upon arriving I let them know I was a few minutes early. This s is where the lady behind the counter informed me she didn't see my order and they just had a "big" order coke in and it would be 40-50 minutes before it could be ready. I informed her and the manager I had placed my order over an hour ago. He informed me the online system doesn't undertake and what's going on and didn't figure out a way to complete my order. I will not be returning.... If by chance someone can assure me my orders will be ready at the time they tell me they will be ready I might try again. read more
