Our second time here and only 1 complaint. Ease off on that salt. The service for us each time has been extraordinary. A miracle apparently compared to some other reviews. Maybe we got lucky but 2/2 is good for me. I've enjoy both the inside and outside drinking a beer after a few rides down and I would go again. Just go somewhere else. We ended up checking them out as the small plates next door was not what we expected and closing soon. The hostess did a great job of seating us to be able to watch the football playoffs. The place was pretty empty so it shouldn't have been an issue anyway. We sat at the bar. Every other person behaved as if it was their first day on the job. We ordered our dinner and it surprisingly came very quickly. So I was suspicious. We ordered two Smash Burgers and Mac n Cheese with Brisket. No fries came with the burgers even though the menu stated otherwise. When we asked the bartender he said they no longer come with them. I asked for them anyway. Said we could speak with the manager. When our bill came the fries were not on there so no need to speak with the mgr. The food was horrible. Old, cold and boring. The Farmers Dog Commercials look tastier. Should have went to the Bistro, Pizza Pedaler or Lime. On a side note as we were leaving we saw a tray of food going to another table. We were in Winter Park over the weekend enjoying all the awesome activities... We popped into Docs roadhouse for dinner after a full day... Oh my gosh, it was such a pleasure to sit at the base of the mountain outside while we enjoyed a libation and food. Our server was extremely accommodating and took care of us very well, despite having a lot of other tables to take care of. We thoroughly enjoyed the barbecue... We enjoyed chicken, pulled pork, brisket, along with nachos and the wings for appetizers... There was a ton of food to eat, and we ended up with leftovers, despite sharing.. the nachos in particular were exceptionally good...( we added brisket) read more

The service and ambiance was nice and chilled. They also had happy hour from 3-6. Depending on where you are sitting in the restaurant you have a great view of people coming down from the slopes. My friends and I opted to share a meal and it was really good. The chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans and the chicken sandwich with onion rings. I mean, you're probably not coming here just for the food, but because you've had a long day of skiing and this place did not require reservations and has lots of seating and a variety of casual food and drink options available. I think it is fine in that aspect, and if you've got great company with you, then it's all you need after a long day outside. But, the food is pricey for what they offer and not particularly good. The burger meat was very dry and unseasoned, and be ready to pay an overpriced amount for drinks. The service was questionable - we had to ask for water several times and the waitress seemed confused. read more

Servers were fun and attentive, but this review is really quality/amount of food vs the menu price. I understand restaurants have to deal with inflation, but these 4 chicken tenders should not be $20-22 and this small side of fries in no world should be $7! Probably came out to $0.50 a fry. If you keep that price, the size should be a bowl of fries, not in a small cup. Just beware for food prices, they know you are hungry after a day of skiing, but I'd rather get quick service on the mountain and not worry about a tip because this place is essentially the same as a lodge for chicken tenders and fries. read more

They charged me the $10 price and when I asked the waitress she simply said that it was a Super Bowl deal even though that was not listed on the specials menu at the table!! I ended up paying $10 for a beer that I thought was on special. Just look at this drink menu that was on the table and tell me that this beer doesn't cost $5, because that's what they did. Has gone downhill in the last couple years. Went in to sit and watch folks come down the hill while having drinks and some food. Tables near the window were dirty, but we said we weren't in a hurry and would gladly wait a few minutes if needed. No one ever came back. We weren't sure where to eat while up in Winter Park and decided barbecue was the way to go. Doc's Roadhouse did not disappoint! The server was very kind and the drinks were strong. We went 2 days in a row and got completely different quality of food. The first day Fri 5/3 we obviously enjoyed it enough to return, but Saturday 5/4 the food was completely different and almost inedible. Sauce on the brisket (which wasn't on it the day before) was too spicy for us to enjoy, and the Mac and cheese was disgusting day 2 and the first day was the best Mac and cheese any of us had eaten. Came here around 4pm for a snack for my son. It wasn't crowded. We were seated outside and given menus. My son got chicken nuggets and husband got a drink. It seemed that after we said we weren't ordering anything to eat except nuggets, her attitude changed. The nuggets came but no silverware for the fruit cup and no napkins. She didn't come around to ask how we were doing. After we paid, she brought the check back and just threw it on the table and said have a nice day. Uhhhhh what was her deal?! My buddy broke some ribs during the ski day, so we decided to just walk across the road and eat somewhere in the base village. We usually like to go out to higher end places, as we only get 5 dinners usually, and like to go big. BUT...BBQ is always open game, so we went for it. Our server appeared to be a stoner-like dude, who was only working here to make some bucks to be able to ski as much as possible, but he turned out to be a great server, very polite, friendly, and solid in all phases. I was a little leery about ordering a martini, as alot of these kind of places literally can't make a good martini to save their lives, but decided my body needed some more vodka. I was pleasantly surprised, to almost shocked when my martini arrived, looking absolutely perfect...and it was. So good, in fact, that I ordered another one later. Only problem was when I saw the bill - $57.50 for 2 Tito's Martinis, with blue cheese stuffed olives! What the? At a little BBQ joint? That's just crazy, as is the tax they charge at all the base area restaurants. I had the 3 meat BBQ plate, which was "OK". The brisket did not resemble brisket that I'm familiar with and smoke at home all the time. This looked like thin bacon, actually, but went down pretty well. The pulled pork was OK, but again, not anywhere near the level that I smoke at home. The sausage was actually the highlight of the 3 meats. I was actually kind of bummed about the price of my martinis and the quality or lack of quality of the BBQ, and wasn't sure if this was going to be a 1 or 2 star review, but before we left, I was talking with my buddy about wishing I could buy just 2 eggs to make breakfast with my leftovers, and a worker who was hanging out at the next table over heard me, and was super friendly and cool, and told me to hold on. He was back several minutes later with 2 eggs from the kitchen, which was SUPER COOL, and left me with a great feeling. Our server also apologized about the cost of the martinis, and I appreciated that as well. So, we have a 3 star review overall. Employees get 5 stars, drink prices get 1 star, and food gets a 2 or 3. read more

Nope. I'm so surprised at the lack of quality at a restaurant that resides in a ski village as nice as Winter Park's. Doc's Roadhouse is located right across from the Gondola lift at the bottom of the mountain in Winter Park. Truly, it is in an incredibly beautiful location. They have lovely outdoor seating that, if you're lucky, has sunshine at several hours of the day. This was probably the only redeeming quality. I normally never have complaint about food as it pertains to me being a pescatarian, but in this case, the service and meal was just kind of ridiculous. I ordered the gourmet grilled cheese and asked for it without the meat. The waitress looked at me like I was insane...even though it's a grilled cheese...but eventually took the order. The sandwich came out and it was literally cold bread with a slice of kraft cheese in the middle. The menu stated that there would be caramelized onions and a horseradish sauce but apparently taking the meat off meant taking literally everything else off too. You would think a 15 dollar grilled cheese (with or without the meat) would have a higher quality cheese than American. They brought out onions upon request pretty much right when we had to leave. Overall, a huge bummer. Hoping the other restaurants in Winter Park village are more redeeming! read more

Last night in WP and we saved our burger and meat fix for tonight. All the meats were smoked perfectly where they actually tasted like smoke. The real deal. Jammed Up Burger was awesome, smoked Brisket grilled cheese was great. Old fashioned weren't sweet and nicely done. Summer (waitress, not the season...it was snowing out ;)) was fantastic to help us celebrate the last night of a nice ski vaca! read more

The only reason this place is still open is because of its location right below the gondola. Must be surviving on 1st time tourist customers only. We have tried this place 4-5 times and every time we've been treated rudely by the un-professional staff. The last two times we were ignored so long, we got up and left. Food and drinks are ok but way overpriced. Walk south through the village to Lime, Vertical Bistro, Stoney's or Mexicali Taco Co. They have better food, drinks and service. read more

4 stars for their "Cajun" Bloody Mary alone. As is the case with most places inside the Winter Park area, the service isn't outstanding and usually better at the bar. However, they are still more courteous than most and they serve an outstanding bloody! The pot roast sliders are enough for one person and delicious. We've tried most things on the menu and still come back for this every lunch. We sometimes get a side of fries which are good, but the sliders still the show. They also have tots sometimes and those come out crispy and salty. It can get busy, but on a sunny day you can utilize the patio outside (both up and downstairs). The patios have a great view of the slopes. I've only been for lunch, but they are open for dinner too They often have someone playing music or beer sponsors doing give aways - so ask if anything is going on while you are in town. read more
