It's been over a year since I first went to Birdcall. This particular location is very close to my boyfriends apartment. I was craving a chicken sandwich and didn't want to particularly drive anywhere. Plus it's Sunday, Chick-fil-a is closed. Haha. First we both got the Nashville hot sandwiches. I love the bread that's used and the chicken is juicy and not dry. Then we got a side of fries and tots. The tots are soooo good. Whatever the seasoning is, it's really good. My boyfriend even agreed that the tots were really good. The fries were fries. Nothing special but it hit the spot. I was craving a chicken sandwich and fries. So I was one happy girl. I didn't get a shake this time but they do have some pretty tasty shakes. I would definitely recommend. We just did take out and it was perfect. It seems like a great concept, but you can't call yourself a beer garden and then take 10 minutes to pour a beer. Food looked tasty, for what it's worth, but their ordering system is effed up. And the beer came in a metal milkshake cup, WTF. (Addendum) The metal cup isn't awful to drink out of, and I like the recycling angle. Would have preferred a pint glass, but better than plastic. Great flavor though. 4-Stars because it's housed inside a house of Jeff Bezos. Want to follow-up on my review for several months ago. I amazed by the management and ownership of Birdcall. They reached out several time to make sure my experience was up to their standard. A growing company has challenges to meet the hungry demands of customer I appreciate anyone who wants to satisfy the customer. After taking a break I went back and am pleased to say the chicken sandwich was outstanding. They've perfected their batter single my last visit and it delivers a powerful mouthful of flavor and crunch. The shoestring fries perfect salted and yummy. This sandwich was awesome. I came here for an event prior to opening day and got to try their food for free and really loved it. I got the Nashville Hot which truthfully is not hot at all, but still had pretty good flavor. If you like Chick-fila then you will Love BirdCall because in my opinion it's 10x better. The only downfall in my mind is that they don't have normal flavors of soda. For some this might be a positive, but for me I don't really need fancy vanilla cola when all I want is a Coke. You can order on a screen but you can also order via someone (what happened to me since you can get the Nashville sauce on the side but not through the app). Was staying at a nearby hotel and in the mood for a chicken sandwich so I stopped by here after looking at Yelp. Once I figured out it was inside Whole Food's, I then was directed to a kiosk where I ordered. Ordering was easy, but making this choice of which sandwich to try was hard. From kiosk to order ready was like 2 minutes. I went with their Buffalo chicken sandwich which had blue cheese slaw. I am not a fan of slaw on my sandwiches but I tried it anyways. It was really good. The chicken was quality and the buffalo sauce was tasty. I definitely wished that I had found this place earlier so I could have tried another sandwich before leaving town. Omg. So, first of all, I should say I had never heard of bird call before today. We (me and my brother) were intending to order some Popeyes but it turned out to be outside our DD delivery radius. So, I ask him if anything else sounds good and he says to me, "OMG bird call! That's way better anyway!" Now excited, we order. So we both got chicken sandwiches (he got the rancher and I got the southern chicken- both fried) some fries (with bird bq sauce and bird sauce) a side salad, some Asian slaw and when it came... I about died from happiness. The first bite I took into my epically huge and perfectly built sandwich, I had to pause Avatar Airbender. At the same time, my brother paused playing his Destiny 2 game, and we shared the happiest food related moment either of us has had in ages! We almost cried. But we kept it together. Decided to grab lunch at this place after finishing a grocery run at Whole Foods. I've heard of this place before, so I was very excited to try it! Ended up going with the Southern Chicken sandwich, which was pretty good. I liked the cole slaw that came with it, quality of the chicken was excellent, and it wasn't too greasy. The fries were good as well, more on the saltier side, but a perfect compliment to the sandwich. I wish there was little bit more flavor however to make it more memorable. Surprisingly great. Was downtown taking care of some business when we stopped by union station. We were looking for somewhere close to eat so we headed into the wholefoods market, as I know they usually serve food during lunch. We went in scouring for food, and stumbled past birdcall within wholefoods. Definely fast casual. You place your order on an iPad, and then your food is announced on screen on the screen inside. Your food arrives in one of the honeycomp shaped "bays" when it's ready. I think it was quite well done. Often times the UI in these order yourself things are pretty bad, but this one seemed to have some thought put into it, which is great. I ordered two nashville hot chicken sanwiches and my partner got another sandwich that I didn't get a bite of, some fries. I got both variants of the nashville hot chicken, just to see what the spice levels were. The extra hot is definitely not hat hot, seems to lack a little sauce, but very flavorful. I'm probably just going with the extra hot from now on. The best part about the sandwich is the sweet pickles! It contrasted really well with the friend spiciness. Plain and simple, but the flavor profile was fantastic! The fries were good, nothing to write home about. A little too salty, but great overall. Will definitely be back! read more
