    Love this wall art!

I like this location of Chook very much! The one on University and Orchard had been my go-to for quite some time before my first visit to this location (in Wash Park). Now I want to make this location my go-to. Its location is convenient. On north end of the charming South Pearl Street, it's an easy access from I-25. Everything is so walkable from there to other shops on the same street or even on the other side of the highway. After entering the restaurant, I noticed that there is/was a large menu on the the left wall right at the entrance so I took the time to peruse before I turned my attention to the ordering counter. And there, a young lady with a very warm smile was already standing there staring at me with a pleasant "Hi". What an attentive service that was! I am pretty familiar with their menu although I did ask her some questions to which she replied with the needed information. One of the questions I had was about one of the sauces (that they offer complimentarily for chicken meat) and it's called piri piri. As far as I can remember, she said it's tomato based with a little spiciness (it might contain some red peppers as well.) Chimichurri was simply too ordinary as that is what I always get so I decided to go out of my way to do something not so ordinary; I got to be a little adventurous. What I ended up getting me was 1/2 of dark chicken, a side of smashed cucumber slices (salad) and a side of mac and cheese. Once my food was packed and ready, a different worker (male) handed me my food. He was also very polite and cordial. I always appreciate their top-notch customer service. I was on my way to work my side hustle downtown so this meal was what I needed to consume before that job assignment. Once I got to my car, I opened my bag and immediately started my early dinner. The dark chicken meat was perfected moist. The red sauce I got gave it a nice kick to the whole enjoyment of the main. The smashed cucumber is light and refreshing with some tanginess to it. The mac and cheese (I believe) is a vegan dish (am I right) but whatever they use to make the typical mac and cheese taste is/was still there with no sacrifice. And get this, nothing (absolutely NOTHING) was oversalted. Lately, I have been encountering more and more restaurant where they season their dishes with too much salt which truly upset me. Chook's conscientious way to cooking all the dishes is what I can appreciate the most. And the quality of ingredients they use are almost guaranteed. This place is simply not for chicken or sub or salad lovers. If you want to spend a casual after 5pm time, they do serve quality beers, wines and cocktails on top of soft drinks. As much as I appreciate this restaurant, I am not sure if it is talked about amongst my foodie friends. My sincere hope is that they utilize your business as often as I do. You deserve so much appreciation and accolades from them.

What the heck is Chook? That was my first thought when my sister told me where we were going for dinner. She explained that "Chook" is Aussie slang for chicken, and chicken is absolutely Chook's speciality! Chook offers a rotisserie style chicken seasoned and cooked to perfection. You can order the Chook for You, Chook for Two, or the Chook for family - each coming with an increasing number of sides! There are so many delicious sides that it is honestly hard to choose - from potato wedges to chicken soup to salad. I ordered the Chook for You with Chook wedges and I added an extra side of chicken noodle soup. To say I left stuffed is an understatement, and that was after I shared my chicken and potato wedges with my family! The chicken was juicy and flavorful, while the wedges were soft and warm. I also really enjoyed the chicken noodle soup considering the freezing temperatures outside! It had huge chunks of chicken in it, too. I also ordered a cocktail, but it was pretty average and could not really compare to the tastiness of the food. Service was super friendly and very fast! There is street parking, and the restaurant was kept very clean. I would highly recommend Chook for a casual, tasty, and health-conscious dinner.

Basic, standard spot for lunch. Service was very quick and efficient. I ordered the chicken ceasar wrap, and it was in my hands in less than 3 minutes.

Just in case you're thinking about ordering the $13 Chicken Caesar wrap- here is a photo. The dressing container is a 2 oz portion cup for reference. Taste good but so disappointingly tiny.

Wow! This chicken is absolutely incredible! It's hands down one of the best I've ever tasted in Denver!

Chook for two with the berry/beet salad, mac and cheese, and "charred" mixed veg

This was probably a 3.5 star experience, rounded up for convenient pickup (they'll bring it out to your car). The chicken was good - juicy and flavorful! - but the sides were a letdown. The "charred" vegetables definitely were not - they were undercooked and hard. The mac and cheese was pretty terrible! It was dry and lumpy without much sauce or flavor. The peri-peri sauce that came with the chicken was good (but tasted more like red bell pepper than peri-peri.) The salad was good too (I got the beet berry one.) I'd give it another try but was bummed two of the side dishes were very lackluster.

Food: The chicken was excellent, with tasty sauces to go with (we went for the chimichurri and piri-piri). The sides were also good -- I loved the seasoned potato wedges, and my wife is still talking about the cucumber salad. Drink: They have liquor, beer, and wine as well as the usual. Tasty. Service: Counter worker was friendly, patient with our first visit, and got our food out fast. Some of the tables sat without being cleared for a while, but part of that was how busy they are. Ambiance: Very fast-casual, but nicely decorated, and arranged. Parking (on the street) is a bit of an issue, esp. with construction going on at the moment, but if I lived here, I'd be doing take out at least once a week.

This place is the best Chook location I have been to since they closed the Stanley Hanger location. I had a funny experience trying to order carryout from the Orchard location. This person named Derek kept hanging up the phone on me!!!! Like 10 times in a row! Because I am all fired up and in a 'stand up for myself phase' I called another location to complain, low and behold they could hear me just fine . Found out that Derek wasn't actually a brat, but experiencing phone issues and got to speak with Jaime! She brought me in for a comped meal and gave me a Pumpkin Spiced Old Fashioned! Dessert in a glass! Really tasty! Made a new friend, got a great dinner! Service at the Pearl Street location is stellar and they have cocktails if you're interested! Love this local chain! So glad I don't have to quit them on principle!!!! Check 'em out! The food is always really good!!!!! :)

I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. When I looked at the menu I thought it would be very basic but the sandwich had good flavor and d the bread was toasted perfectly. The side of Mac and cheese was basic. Next time I will get the roasted veggies which I had a taste of. The margaritas were okay but a little small for the price. Service was fine since you order at the counter and they bring it to you.

First time coming into this place and I was blown away. Awesome setup and amazing food. I got the chicken curry sandwich and the avacado chicken sandwich. Both fantastic! Great location and the people who work here are very friendly. You can see the cook the moment you walk in and what he's up to. Behind him will be the chicken's cooking. This place has quality everything and makes sure everything is of utmost quality. The B certified is a pretty big deal that I had no idea about until I was informed what it was. Directly from the website "Certified B Corporations are leaders in the global movement for an inclusive, equitable, and regenerative economy. Unlike other certifications for businesses, B Lab is unique in our ability to measure a company's entire social and environmental impact." They are apparently the only place around that is b certified! Im excited to try more foods From here and again the sandwiches I had were fire

What type of oil is used to cook the chicken? I'm not doing vegetable oils of any kind.

It's rotisserie chicken, so odds are highly in your favor that they don't use veggie oil, if they use oil at all, and they probably use olive if oil is used. Either way, live a little. It's rotisserie, so no matter what, it's relatively good for… Read more

First, wife is a vegetarian and they had no mains other than Mac and cheese for her. She ordered the salad without chicken which was $25. They knocked it down to $22 after I asked why it was the same price without meat, which still seemed like a lot for a salad with no protein. Kids' Mac and cheese was not the same receipe as last time; it was a different noodle and seemed to be needing some salt as it was pretty bland. Unlike our last visit they did not include an ice cream for dessert. My fried chicken and waffles was ok--the breading was a bit soggy though and I much preferred the Nashville hot chicken from my last visit. If I'm being honest this was closer to a 2 star experience, but with how good the last visit was, I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt they maybe tonight they were just off. That said--need one vegetarian entree for the menu.

A lot of the items on the menu were a bit pricey for size/taste/quality but for a special occasion or date night could be worth it.
