    One love sandwich
    Ashley P.

Absolutely love this spot for a delicious sandwich! Plus, there are great vegetarian options! Each time I go, I get the One Love and it is incredible each time. Each ingredient tastes super fresh and the ciabatta it comes on is so tasty. Definitely a fair price for what you get, especially since all their sandwiches come with chips. And the service has always been great when I've visited. For sure a solid sandwich spot if you're looking for one!

Gates Deli & Grog is an under the radar sandwich shop on Pearl St. inside of Platt Park Brewing. In addition to their signature sandwiches, they have a few wraps, salads, nachos, wings and tacos on the menu. This place could easily be named No Frills Sandwiches or Very Good Sandwiches and no one would bat an eye. I was in the area for work multiple times last week, and I'm so glad I checked Yelp to hook me up with tasty grub. I love me some sandwiches and ended up coming here twice in just a few day span. If that's not telling, I don't know what is! CORN BEEF MELT ($14) // Corned beef, white cheddar, pickles, coleslaw, thousand island dressing, on marble rye. Very flavorful. Generous with the dressing, and possibly too liberal for my liking. I needed 5 or 6 napkins while eating it, haha. Balanced sandwich, good zip and tang to counter the salty meat. FARM FRESH CHICKEN CLUB ($15) // Grilled chicken breast on a fresh baked bun stacked w/ bacon, arugula, pickled red onions, fresh guacamole, cheddar cheese, ranch & everything bagel seasoning. WOAH. The only thing missing was the kitchen sink. Although a ton of ingredients, they all worked well together, and you could easily taste each one individually. My only knock was the chicken, that was a bit on the dry side. Other than that, a vibrant sandwich with a delicious freshly baked bun. There's a lot going right here. Online ordering is a synch. They have a walk up window, but if you're inside the brewery you can order at the bar. Perfect for grab and go, or pounding a few beers with a big group. Look forward to trying more of their unique and carefully crafted sandwiches!

My favorite salad in town: the Everything Wedge Salad (and add the braised chicken!). My god these people know what they are doing. The braised chicken is outrageously tender and delicious. They top the salad with everything bagel seasoning, which is now my exclusive go to topping at home too. Over my many visits I've also demolished their nachos (another favorite) a few of their sandwiches, some tacos and the chicken wings (all different occasions, even I can't eat that much in one sitting). I don't think you can order wrong here. Food comes out fast, and the team in the kitchen are super friendly. The deli is attached to Platt Park Brewing, so you can order inside at the bar or use the window outside of the building.

I've been wanting to try Gates Deli & Grog for a while and when I finally got it, it did not disappoint. It is connected to Platt Park and pairs perfectly with their beer. They have a selection of hot dogs, sandwiches, wraps, salads, etc. There is indoor and outdoor seating (with heaters in the winter) in Platt Park Brewery.

the whole vibe of this place is just spectacular. Service was quick and insightful, beer was crisp, and the outdoor seating area was great too!

Small little kiosk pop up inside of Platt Brewery. The food was not as amazing as advertised through Yelp reviews, but when you have good beer at a mediocre food place, it helps a lot! The brewery also seemed to employee the servers so that was nice to have help for both at the same time. I was really looking forward to the wedge salad but it was tasteless and boring. I asked for additional blue cheese and bbq sauce and made some more dressing and that made it edible. The pork nachos were the family favorite. And gigantic! Would highly recommend these and forget everything else.

This place has a walk up window of you can dine in at Platy Park brewery which is connected to it inside. We ordered the bbq nachos which had a bit too much bbq sauce on them but other than that they were good. I would definitely get the double baked wings next time. Someone else got those near us and they looked and smelled amazing!

Arguably one of the best places to get a sandwich in Denver! Love that their gluten free bread comes from a local place-seriously so good & highly recommend!

I am really hoping it was just this one sandwich and not all of them because the nachos look absolutely amazing but I was really disappointed I spent $23. $23 for any sandwich is just genuinely insane. I ordered the THICC Turkey Bacon Avo with smoked gouda. I'm not sure if there were just too many flavors but the sandwich genuinely smelt like a farm (probably the Colorado sprouts) and tasted sort of sour instead of like, flavorful. I am super stoked on local goods and farm fresh but I dont know that I want my food to SMELL like it came straight from the farm and taste almost sour. I have a hard time believing just the sprouts could ruin the whole sammy but the bread was also very very crunchy and the only thing I could discern outside of sprouts was gouda. IDK. Really really disappointed.

We went here for lunch and were not disappointed. Staff were very friendly and they had great outdoors seating. Not very busy for mid week.

Breakfast, lunch or dinner - you cannot go wrong with this place. Good sandwiches have been so hard to find recently so I am SO excited that gates nails it, consistently. Huge plus, grab a beer or frozen drink from plate park brewery right next store. Big indoor and outdoor seating spots.

    One love - added turkey
    Malori H.

This place was exactly what I was looking for on a Saturday after a hard workout. We got there right around 11 so it wasn't too packed. We sat at the bar and the bartender was awesome. They have frozen drinks like pins coladas that were delicious. We split the Italian sandwich (which was our favorite) and the one love but added turkey to it - also delicious. Super cool low key spot that's def worth checking out.

    One love

Sexy tractor is incredible if you are a vegetarian my girlfriends go to! Today she got the one love and the flavors were amazing. I always get the French connection but today I went for the flying Buffalo wrap. It was missing a bit of spice but still delicious. The wedge salad was awesome and the excessive use of everything but the bagel seasoning is genius! Always love Gates Deli!

Italian Job & French Connection sandwiches. Zapps potato chips. Sour Weis beer (can't remember the name) and pins colada frozen cocktail.

There's no performance here, no hospitality theater, no one asking how the first few bites are treating you. You walk up to the counter, you order, you take a number, you sit down. The food does the talking. And the food has a lot to say. I went on a bright Wednesday morning with a couple of friends and ordered the classic breakfast, swapping bacon for pastrami (a first for me) with an everything biscuit on the side (also a first). Both were revelations. The eggs over-hard might be the best version of that order I've ever gotten from a restaurant -- just a whisper of uncooked yolk in the center, perfectly seared on both sides. Skillet potatoes were spot-on. The skillet pastrami was rich and properly crisped at the edges. And the two generous slices of sourdough arrived with a scratch-made blueberry jam that I ended up smearing on everything I could -- sourdough, biscuit, probably would've eaten it with a spoon if no one was looking. My friend ordered the breakfast sandwich, which clearly belongs in the staples category. The baguette was the star: toasted outside, pillow-soft inside, zero tug-of-war with your teeth. That detail alone tells you the kitchen cares. This is the Ron Swanson part: there's an unapologetic confidence to this place. They know exactly what they're doing, they're not trying to oversell it, and they're not interested in charming you into liking it. They're just going to hand you something excellent and trust you to figure out the rest. The coffee was good. The food was setting-a-benchmark good. A real 5 out of 5 stars, no pickin nits. Mild observation, not a complaint: the service is counter-only, no traditional table service. Would Matthew McConaughey or Reese Witherspoon dropping plates off elevate the experience? Sure. But Ron wouldn't have it any other way, and honestly, neither would I after eating here. If I lived within 45 minutes of downtown Denver, this would be my destination breakfast. As it is, I'm a 12 hour drive away, and if it were only 11, perhaps I'd go tomorrow. The real downside? The food was so good I completely forgot to take a picture.

While the former Ambli space has been brightened and renovated to look very much like an east shore market, the seating is less than comfortable. I guess the combo of poor food, bad service and uncomfortable seating is great for turning tables? I will put aside the TERRIBLE service and focus purely on the food. We ate at Zaidy's for breakfast. Many of the breakfast sandwiches are based on their in-house-made bagels. This is a failure! The bagels taste stale for "freshly made" and I find it very odd for a Jewish-themed joint to toss bacon into the sandwich (I personally love bacon, BTW). So setting aside the shanda (shame) bacon...with the cheese, there is an utter lack of seasoning. The breakfast sandwich came with home fried potatoes which were cooked nice and crisp but lacking any seasoning whatsoever. The latke grilled cheese looks appealing but is basically a greasy sponge filled with limp tomato and undercoooked cheese. And finally, the blintzes are an embarrassment to any self-respecting Jew. Zaddy's version are these small pockets that are under fried and more the size of a hamantaschen than a true blinze. I see no reason to rush back. Another few blocks down the street is Sam's 3, where a far better breakfast could be realized and Rosenberg's bagel on Monoco for better bread (albeit that Rosenberg's doesn't serve sandwiches)

They simply Do Not care about general food safety getting a hot meal here is rather risky I will explain why. My friend was a cook here for a short while and quit on them once he realized they care nothing about serving food that is safe to eat, he saw them do sooo many things that would easily make the food contaminated and unsafe to eat and somehow that was there process of doing things. Here are a couple examples of menu items one should try to steer clear of Chicken parm sandwich- they cook off a large batch of the chicken cutlets and let them sit at room temp for a hour or two until someone orders one they refries them for a minute or so, your supposed to keep food hot once it is cooked especially chicken to leave cooked chicken at room temp for so long is extremely risky to the public's health. Meatball sandwich- they leave there meatballs on the hot line all day then they save all of the hot food items from the day and reuse them the next day without properly cooling any of the food and the cooks will leave these item sit out at room temp for about 45 mins before even putting them into the cooler. Many issues with this practice first of all hot food should be discarded after 5 hours according to the health department because after 5 hours it will start growing bacteria, to leave it on a hot line all day then save them for the next day and not even cool them down properly is Crazy risky to people's health and they do not just do this with the meatballs they do it for many of there hot dishes they are used for days on in, not properly cooled and not properly tracked for how many times it has been reheated and such me they keep them in the same pans it's flat out gross. Other issues my friend encountered there was never seeing anyone at all wash there hands at any point in time, a ancient dishwashing machine that didn't clean anything at all it didn't even get hot so half of there dishes are greasy and have food residue on them, in his short time there he saw people fired for no reason what's so ever from what he was told the owner fires people left and right and doesn't even give reasons as to why, that's why they have ads up on indeed looking for employees 24/7.
