Look, we all know prices are out of control, so I didn't blink too hard at the $14-18 8" sub prices. But if you're going to charge that, fill the damn thing up with something. My "bird and basil" (turkey with basil cream cheese) sounded like a good idea but didn't really work; the balsamic vinegar dressing drowns out all other flavors, except that it seemed to enhance an unpleasant bitterness of the basil. The cold bread is dense and super chewy, and there's barely any turkey, just one single thin-slice layer. Complaints about the service I didn't witness, but staff were a surly lot back there making sandwiches. If I lived in the neighborhood maybe I'd try it again, but I don't, and I won't. Went here the other day. Opened up the sandwich only to find live bugs crawling around. I've eaten here before and the sandwich was good but this is pretty bad. To make matters worse, we called back to ask about a refund and the employee's response was along the lines of "that's unfortunate" in a joking manner. Mr. Lucky's has been on my list since they opened in my neighborhood. Sandwiches aren't my go to lunch but it sounded great today. I ordered the 6th Ave, my husband ordered the CO, and our friend ordered his go to (he use to go to the original location a few times a week when he worked close) the BLAT. My husband, also not being a huge sandwich person, kept saying how darn good his was. My 6th Ave was also quite good with tons of spice. Only negative for me was my sandwich was burnt on one side. This place is the real deal. Delicious & fresh bread. Quick service and to top it off they have LITTLEMAN ICECREAM without the line! I had a sandwich here 2 years ago and it was ok, but nothing special for the money. Today I didn't even order a sandwich, I walked out because the employee was a complete jerk. Ordered a 4" 6th Ave sandwich to go. The roast beef was absolutely disgusting. It was slimy, gristly, and impossible to chew. I'd try to take a bite and the whole chunk of "meat" would slide out with my teeth. The pile in the picture made up about 95% of the meat on the sandwich, and that's not an exaggeration. I found the little piece of legit roast beef in the top left towards the end. That part tasted pretty good and had the consistency of normal roast beef so I'm hoping this was just an aberration. I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 because the rest of my party didn't seem to have troubles with their food and the two employees were working their tails off with phone and walk-in orders. Today we ordered online at 5:25pm (They close at 6pm). The guy working was trying to shut down an hour early so he had to turn the oven back on when we got there. When we showed up he explained this and that he had to cancel other orders after ours because he was shutting down (it was now 5:35pm and we're in the store). He tells us he'll make our sandwiches. Get new staff that appreciate your own revenue and their own paycheck during tough times. I felt pretty lucky to have tried Mr. Lucky's Sandwiches (has anyone used that line yet? I guess I'll see after I finished writing this review). When I was ordering the items through doordash, they had an option for half or full sandwich. I was pretty hungry, but so was my wallet so I just picked half to get the cheaper deal. However, when it was delivered, it was bigger than I thought! Makes me wonder how ginormous the full sandwiches would be! It also tasted fresh, fresh, fresh. Sometimes they bombard healthy sandwiches with so much bland veggies that it overcomes the tastiness of the sandwiches but this place balances them out really well. The TNT sandwich is delicious! The soft homemade bread paired well with the heaps of turkey and fresh vegetables- which also provided a perfect crunch! The ratios (bread, meat, veg) were perfect in my opinion and left no flavor profile unnoticed. I love the array of dressing/sauce options to choose from. It's the food place we have utilized the most in the Coronavirus times. It's a solid sandwich place with pretty good selection & value. I keep trying this place because the sandwiches are good but NEVER AGAIN. The few times I've gotten my sandwiches the person working has be unfriendly at most. There have also been two times I've ordered online and it's been closed when I get there (we'll before the 6pm stated close time). The first time there was nothing indicating it closed before 6. The second time their website still said 6 (I ordered at 5:15 and got there at 5:30) but google says 3. They also still have not refunded me and it's been over a week. read more

I don't understand why this place has such mixed reviews? I went in today and placed an order for a sandwich of my own making- just something simple: Turkey, French bread, onion, Swiss, lettuce, Mayo, vinegar and oil. I always judge a sandwich place by their simplest sandwich because that's how you can judge the quality of the ingredients. There's no crazy garnishes or whatnot to obscure the quality of the ingredients and they really have to shine based on their freshness/quality. Well, I was very impressed. The lettuce? So green! and crunchy! and fresh! Not like the lettuce you sometimes get where it clearly has been wilting and getting soggy for days on end. Turkey? Super fresh. Cheese? Super fresh. Onions? I really hate leaving this review, because I (USUALLY) love the staff, I've been a customer here and the 6th ave location for a long time, and their food is usually great. But lately, my food has not been up to their usual standards. Today I ordered via doordash and had a horrible experience. They confirmed my order, I got an update that the dasher was waiting there for my order, and then, out of nowhere, my order was cancelled. Ridiculous. I really like your sandwiches but whatever agreement you have with GrubHub isn't working. Second order this week I have had to cancel as the driver picks up in 30 minutes, then I have to cancel an hour later as it isn't showing up. The delivery time is showing as 25-30 minutes. You should update your delivery estimate time 2 hours plus on the GrubHub app. read more
