I only live a few blocks from this spot and am sad I waited to long to come in and try to deliciousness that is So Damn Gouda! Wow. The shop itself is laid out in such an inviting and lovely way, it's clean, and the service was wonderful! My partner and I learned so much in such a short visit! We live 2 blocks away and have tried to come in a few times to grab sandwiches for a picnic at the park. Thankfully this go around they had ingredients for their signature sandwiches unlike in previous attempts. The sandwich we shared was unique but we'd probably not get it again... but would definitely try something else! Honestly, what makes me happiest about this place is that when I tell them I like Tillamook cheddar and ask for recommendations, I'm not turned away. Instead, they don't skip a beat and give me a whole list of options, saying which may be outside my comfort zone, which ones I may like the most and which ones I should probably avoid. They've got some of the highest quality meats I've ever had. They create a comfortable atmosphere when ordering and are more than happy to answer any questions. For Christmas Eve, I ordered their 13x18 platter with four additional meats. The French onion Emmental cheese spread surpassed expectations and was like an ultra fancy onion dip, but much thicker. The hard chorizo was a big hit with everyone. Honestly, everything was a hit. In fact, I dare say their platter made everyone forget just how miserable 2020 has been. They've even got different sized boxes pre-made, like grown-up Lunchables. They are perfect for a picnic or a drive through the mountains and you want a snack for the road. And then I saw on the IG that they're offering delivery for wine and cheese plates during the current pandemic. Ordering directly through the SDG site was simple, you should plan on ordering at least a day in advance. I placed my order on a Monday for Wednesday afternoon delivery and paid via credit card + tip. It came out to $52 which included a cheese + charcuterie board for 2-4 people, plus a bottle of wine and $10 tip. Free delivery. Kudos to the contact-free delivery. It was a little early and they were very friendly when I greeted them through my front screen door. They did verify my age so they knew they weren't serving a minor (let's face it, who in Park Hill would be ordering white wine and charcuterie that's under the age of 45?). Not gonna lie, I was a little bummed when I saw the small box that the food came in... Until I opened it up and saw that there was plenty of cheeses, meats, nuts, crackers, apricots, jam, pickles and olives for two hungry people. Literally, our best memory from the last four months, living this quarantine life. I had experienced SDG before, when my friend had it delivered for girl's nights, and I decided to take the plunge for our 9th dating anniversary, since our options for celebrating were limited. IT WAS AMAZING. The delivery came at EXACTLY the scheduled time, and everything was packaged carefully, with lovely presentation. We got the date night package, with a bottle of sparkling wine, and had ZERO leftovers. We need to order again, because I crave their food! So Damn Gouda is such a breath of fresh air. TLDR: if you like quality charcuterie, this is exactly what you're looking for. We explored here and were overwhelmed by this shop's selections and kindness among the staff. Amateur cheese enthusiasts ourselves, the owner not only curated a scrumptious cheese plate for three- but offered tasty aged meat selections and samples of his finest and favorites. We went a little overboard and added Jamón Iberico potato chips (tasty Spanish ham), French onion compote, and strawberry rosé jam (I'm a lush) as well as a couple bottles of French rosé... did I mention they charge liquor store prices for the bottles? Always looking to support local business, especially during such trying times so I was excited to finally give SDG a go. I ordered a MDW cheese board (3 person) for a Saturday pickup for $41. Arrived about a half hour after my designated pickup time and they were kind enough to offer a 4 person board already made in exchange for not having my order ready. While I appreciate the generosity, I am mostly concerned that the 4 person cheese board (photo attached) was just enough for 2 people and would not suffice for 4, at all. With two people, we had only crostini left. I am not sure if this is because we had hoped to have it as a meal and not so much as an appetizer but at $40 for three people (and four people worth of cheese), I can't imagine how much it would cost to actually satisfy more than one to two people with these boards. I would like to state that all of the cheese, crostini, jams and other inclusions were delicious and I know they work hard for things to be house made/fresh. I was just a bit disappointed that $40 would not get me enough food to feed two people as I could likely get dinner takeout for just as much and feel a bit more full. read more

Decided to come back with the change in ownership and glad I did. The staff was super friendly, gave tastes so we knew we liked what we purchased, and they have some gluten free cracker options there too. It's a one stop shop for meat and cheese. When we were there they were making platters that people have delivered and those looked amazing so it's on the "to try" list for the future. I contacted Mike and Cori with less than a weeks notice during the holiday season to see if they were available to help us out with an order of 25 cheese trays, and they were beyond helpful and accommodating. I spoke with Cori over the phone and via email to discuss our budget and what we were looking for. She came up with a plan and we went for it. Mike gave us recommendations of wines, and we purchased them separately. Mike also delivered our platters on two separate days, which helped us out a ton. Our cheese platters were gorgeous and each of our clients loved them. My only suggestion for Mike and Cori is to have their name, logo, and number on the cheese description card, as we had several people wanting to know where we bought them.
