    BBQ and Beer!
    Mateo E.

This will be the10th consecutive five star review for this truck. If I could give them another star, I would. BBQ this good from a truck doesn't come around often, if ever. After a few brews at Living the Dream's 8th anniversary, I was ready for BBQ. Lucky for me, my friends ordered more ribs than they could finish and asked for help. Tender meat fell off the bone and, while they could have used a little more smoke, outshined most of those I've had around the Metro at hipster and at old school favorites. Alas, there were only three bones left. I ordered brisket + sausage with a side of Mac & cheese and brought back a spicy and a regular sauce along with complimentary pickles and onions. Unlike many trucks, these guys are as efficient as they are friendly. No pagers here. My food was out in less than three minutes. Brisket was well-smoked with considerable bark outside, tender meat inside. There were both moist and lean cuts included. Big props! My sausage was serviceable, but next time I'd get something else. Mac & cheese was deliciously cheesy. Most BBQ joints serve up disappointing sauce. Not Woodhill. Spicy means spicy. The Carolina sauce (not my cup of tea) was the best I've tried. I'd put this BBQ up against some of the Metro's most revered joints and hope I see this truck again soon in my part of town. Highly recommended!

Finding ourselves at New Terrain Brewing Company with grumbling bellies, my fellow brewery goer and I decided to sample from the onsite food truck: Woodhill Small Batch BBQ. Star 1 = They feature a variety of meal options including plates and sandwiches. Heck, they even serve up sliders! Star 2 = The sauces! The barbeque sauces were super tasty! They ran the gamut from a traditional, a mustard, to a habanero, and then some! Star 3 = Prices were on point! Sandwiches were approximately $7 and sides were $2 a piece. Portions were quite generous and super tasty! Star 4 = Love that they focus on quality over quantity and do everything in small batches. You can totes taste the difference! Woodhill Small Batch BBQ def served up some solid barbeque. I'll be checking it out in the future for sure. **Pro Tip: You can keep up with their current haunts on their website!

Just all around great tasty bbq. Full of flavor, the ribs are to die for. The prices are great as well. Give them a try.

What impressed me even more was the service. I didn't catch our server's name, but she was constantly on the move, making sure every customer was taken care of and happy. A quick google search for "dog friendly patios" led us here - and boy howdy I am sooooo glad it did! I love good smoked meats and Rusty Tapp hit the nail square on the head. Everything we had was fantastic, including the service. When the server asked if we wanted pup cups for the dogs, of course we said yes, but were so surprised to see that the dogs got to enjoy a little cup of plain smoked brisket. They each gave the pup cups 5 stars. We have a friend who is celiac, so we frequently as about gluten free options anywhere we go. Our server gave a very detailed and precise answer about the menu, what was available, and mentioned the shared fryer which was so appreciated and makes it easier for our friend to feel more comfortable trying a new place. The patio is couple of tables out front, but the traffic wasn't busy, it's not loud, and we had a nice night out. We've added this spot to our list of places to return to!

Was lucky enough to…read morestumble on this while walking around near a friend's apartment in Englewood, Denver has all these cool little pockets where it's very suburban and then all of a sudden you'll have a small corner with a few shops and restaurants and giving it a lovely walkable vibe. I could tell this place was going to be good because it was packed out at 11:30 AM on a Saturday. We decided to stop by and most people were ordering very large orders for takeout, but they have a good number of tables both inside and outside. The food takes a while to come, but that just means that it is all freshly prepared, and the staff are so nice and even give free samples. I went with the Kids meal brisket with the Potato salad and added a Sweet potato with the candied pecan butter. I seriously have no words -- all of these things were so delicious, and the amount of meat that you get even with the kids meal is more than enough to fill me up, especially with the rich sweet potato and potato salad on the side. I will be back as soon as I can, their hours are limited, and the drive is a little out of the central Denver area, but it is so worth it

That was missing here, the first indication that all would not go well. I soldiered on anyway, and ordered the 2 meat plate, pulled pork and brisket, with an extra rib bone and collard greens and beans for sides. The brisket and pork were both dry and had no smoke flavor. The rib was so small (an end piece) that they gave me 2; they were both overcooked and had very little meat on them. The sides were the only good part of this meal, but sides do not great barbecue make, hence the 2 stars. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The pitmaster visited our table and took our criticism with good grace, even offering to replace our food to see if they could do better, but I was done. I won't be returning.

That's what you expect when you're paying barbecue prices. Sadly, none of that showed up here. The brisket and burnt ends were the biggest disappointment. Instead of having that dark bark and beautiful smoke ring you expect from meat that's been smoked low and slow, everything looked gray and lifeless. There was no smoke flavor, no seasoning, and worst of all, the meat was dry. Not slightly dry, but the kind where you need sauce just to get it down. Burnt ends are usually the highlight of a barbecue meal, crispy outside with juicy, tender meat inside. These were just dry chunks with no caramelization or flavor payoff. The sausage didn't help things either. Overall, nothing about the meal felt homemade or smoked. It felt mass produced and rushed, missing the flavor and texture that make barbecue special in the first place. What made the experience even worse is the price. Spending around $40 on a pound of meat, expecting quality barbecue, and getting dry, bland food instead. For that price, you expect memorable barbecue, not something you regret ordering halfway through the meal. The food was so disappointing that I ended up throwing most of it away and going somewhere else afterward just to get a decent meal. That's something I almost never do, especially after paying premium prices.
