I want to give Joe a very special shout out. I order lunch for my company and had an order for 15 sandwiches and sides. I spoke to Joe in person and had a list of all the sandwiches I needed to order. He said that it would be best to order online. When I finished my order online the system would not let me check out. I called Joe and he said that he would fill the order from the list I had. When I went back in the order was all ready. In this day in age when customer service is hard to come by I was very impressed and thankful that Joe was willing to go above and beyond. This is a good upscale Chick-fil-A idea. The process and technology to track your order is cool. The food is also quite tasty. I had a build your own chicken sandwich and it was quite tasty and perhaps more importantly done correctly and quickly for a lunch. Unfortunately I don't believe the value for cost is there. Also it felt a bit cumbersome after ordering where do I go and what happens next. Also the fact that it is completely separate but still inside a Whole foods was a bit confusing. Better than Chik-fil-A! I had their buffalo chicken sandwich which was phenomenal. They literally spin the filet in buffalo sauce so you can taste the flavor in every bite! Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I a bit sad when I finished because I definitely wanted more. Fries were really fresh and crispy. Great selection of teas as well. I love how they are set up there. You place your order at a kiosk and your order is then displayed on screens to let you how long you will be waiting and at which bay your food will be ready at. Plenty of space for seating and it's conveniently located in Whole Foods. Definitely coming back. read more

I'm more disappointed than I've ever been. I frequently visit the Five Points location (sometimes every week) and this experience was a complete let down across the board. The ranch was watery and unfinished, my chicken wildly overdone, the tenders were a different color than the chicken on the sandwiches which indicates the fryers aren't set at the same temperature and my wait time was about twice the estimated time. This is supposed to be fast, casual and tasty and honestly, if this had been my first Birdcall experience, I wouldn't be going back. Someone needs to get a handle on the quality control. First things first, I love birdcall. Quick, cheap, great chicken. I wish I could throw down a quick 5 stars. Unfortunately, I've got one gripe. It's a lack of consistency. I've probably been (to the location on 26th) a few dozen times. I've been to the WF location only once. Maybe 4 or 5 of my 20+ burritos and sandwiches haven't quite been up to par. Whether it be a burnt chicken breast, forgetting the salsa or pimento spread in the southern burrito, or just a general lack of attention to detail, things could be tightened up a bit. I will 100p continue to heed the call of the bird, however, I'm hoping as time goes on they are able to dial in their process and churn out 100% perfection. Shout out Tim. read more

One of my only regrets in moving out of RiNo was not trying their first location. Ah well. The hot has a delicious kick to it, that doesn't overpower the flavor. One word DELICIOUS! I got the The rancher sandwich and I've never tasted anything like it. The bacon red onion jam gave it a sweet taste but not overbearing on the sweetness. Instead of the usual fries I got fruit, as always fruit is good. Also got the s'mores milkshake, although I'm lactose I had to give it a try and it was mouthwatering. Birdcall is a laid-back spot to get a quick chicken sandwich downtown with no frills, and also a way to skip the nutso line that develops around the Whole Foods salad bar and deli options. I ordered the Nashville Hot sandwich (extra hot) and a side of fries. The kiosk was easy to get along with and the food only took a few minutes to come out. Service (the folks prepping the food and some wandering folks picking up trays) came with a smile, which I appreciated. The sandwich was just alright - totally fine for a fast food sandwich but nothing out of the ordinary. The breading was crisp and the chicken was not dry, but it was a far cry from spicy - like it had been waved near some cayenne pepper, perhaps. The fries were hot but needed some salt. Maybe my expectations were higher than they should've been, but I'll probably go elsewhere to scratch my fried chicken itch. read more

Birdcall is located inside Whole Foods. You order from the automated kiosk, very easy and user friendly. I tried the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich because Nashville Hot Chicken from Nashville is amazing. So I have to try everywhere I see it. The sandwich was good, well the chicken was fantastic! Great job on Nashville Hot. (They have two levels of heat. Hot and extra hot) The bread was a little bit of a disappointment. It was cold and took away from the great chicken. I think if the bread were toasted or even slightly heated, it would have enhanced and not taken away from the sandwich. The cheese was also cold. I was expecting a hot chicken sandwich to be hot but with all of the cold items it didn't come together as it should have for me. The fries were hot and very tasty. You can order dipping sauces on the side. I tried the ranch and Birdcall sauce. The ranch was great. The Birdcall was similar to a slightly tangy thousand island sauce. Good, if sweet and tangy are your thing. They have great selection of craft sodas and three specialty unsweetened teas. I didn't have the sodas but all three teas were delicious. QUALITY: The freshness, simple preparation and clean ingredients used in preparing the chicken, and assorted sides, all speak to a unique and deliciously convenient dining option for both lunch and dinner. EXECUTION: The online ordering is simple and efficient. The preparation time for such well-prepared meals at Birdcall is measured in minutes (5-6). COST: Extremely reasonable - particularly considering the quality of the offerings on the menu. SERVICE: I have spent my entire life in service-centric businesses. (We all have whether we realize it or not.) Speaking from a service-centric perspective, Birdcall is first class. The staff are all thoughtful, efficient, interested, on-time, clean, and keenly interested in delivering a first-class and convenient dining experience. COMPETITION: There is none. The location is kind of weird because it's inside of the Whole Foods but that didn't ruin the aesthetic. You order on a kiosk and wait for your name to be displayed on a screen which is a cool concept! We got the Nashville hot and the original with Birdcall sauce. My sister got the Nashville hot extra spicy but she said it might just be her spice tolerance, because it wasn't. I got the original and really liked it! Our own complaint would be that the sandwiches are a tad bit greasy. read more

This pseudo-fast food joint is located inside the new Whole Foods by Union Station. I've never tried the original location, but their fried chicken sandwich is fantastic and better than Chick-fila. The crust is crispy and moist and delicious. I've only had the Nashville extra spicy version, and although I certainly would not label it as "extra spicy" myself, it has enough of a kick to make it tasty. I do wish they would consider selling fried chicken by itself in the future as opposed to in a sandwich. That would be off the chain. read more

I had high hopes for this place. The atmosphere is rad. They use iPads for the menu. I loved this as it displayed the pictures really well. From the iPad you can customize your food if you want. I ordered the egg and turkey bacon sandwich and a yogurt parfait. The sandwich was average and the parfait was a huge let down. The portion was smaller than McDonald's with a $5 price tag. I spent $10 and was starving at the end. I ended up purchasing food from Whole Foods a-la-carte offerings. The taste was superior for less $. Overall, the taste was good - average. Came in for lunch and a beer on Rockies opening day. Nice little bar area attached to the Whole Foods Market, great place to hang out or even pull a laptop out and get to work. Bartender Patrick provided excellent service and friendly conversation, plus recommended a pretty delicious beer that cost only $3 on account of an opening day special. So I have to say we just love love love the menu at Bird Call. We have a routine of going grocery shopping and staying for lunch. We belly up to the bar and have a glass of wine with our chicken sandwich. Joe, assistant manager, is so down to earth and caring (not only for the guest but also his company he works for).
