If your looking for a quaint one of a kind breakfast joint... this is it! Originally an old service station, this county corky restaurant can make dreams come true. The wait staff are so amazingly friendly with the "everyone's our neighbor" attitude. They take the time to greet every table and get to know people. Gail, one of the original owners, also makes rounds throughout the restaurant making sure everyone leaves with a smile. So rare to find. One recommendation is to get there early. By about 9am the place is hopping. If you happen to get there during a busy time grab yourself a cup of coffee in the self serve area. Take time to explore the little store area or grab a seat outside in a rocking chair. The food they serve here is no joke. Always amazing and always fresh. They serve mainly breakfast, but also have some lunch options. The Billy Belly Buster Meal is one of my favorites and HUGE! Basically a sampler platter of breakfast goodness. Three eggs, hasbrowns, two sausage (or bacon), a biscuit (or toast), and two crazy big pancakes that fall off the plate. However, it will give you time to visit with family or meet new friends as they are also waiting in the comfortable waiting area outdoors. Once you get you seat the wait staff is quick and courteous and are very attentive. They keep the coffee cup full and and helpful even if you want to share one of their larger orders. The eggs are always perfect, hash browns crispy but not overdone, and the bacon tasty. The pancakes are on a whole mother level in size and flavor. How do they get such huge pancakes to taste sooooo good? They are simply amazing! If you feel like you want to splurge go for the Billion Dollar Bacon, wow! As I said, this is good honest country cooking with a nice retro ambiance for a leisurely morning as you ease into your day at the lake or other adventures. Such a wonderful breakfast outing! This place is super cute with lots of fun decor and a very homey atmosphere. Our waitress was super lovely as well and made the experience very enjoyable. When we arrived we parked in the lower lot and a golf cart picked us up to drive us to the top of the hill! The food is a little pricey for breakfast in my opinion, but worth the money! While visiting Branson, Missouri with friends and family we visited Billy Gail's original restaurant location for breakfast. This place is fabulous and has added some great new conveniences. We visited their original location on Hwy 265 in Branson. Our group of 6 arrived at 11:00 on a Monday and Friday was put on a 45 minute waiting list (worth the wait if you can afford the time expense). The restaurant has doubled the size of it's parking lot which makes for a much easier and safer entrance to park. For additional convenience they offered a cart ride to the entrance. The restaurant now has light up buzzers which is also new since our last visit 2 years ago. We waited the full 45 minutes and were seated by a friendly staff. The restaurant is clean, very comfortable, with many antique touches from grandma's house inside. We were seated and quickly attended to by our waitress. Within 10 minutes our group had our drinks and was ready to order our breakfast. The group ordered chili burger, campfire breakfast, entress with eggs, has browns, bisquits and pancakes. All the food came out in a timely manner, hot and correct. The camp breakfast was quite tasty having a mix of eggs, sausage, hash browns and onion. The hash browns were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The eggs were fluffy, buttery and substantial. The sausage was diced and incorporated into the mix very well. The breakfast came with a bread option with which I ordered English muffin. The muffin was thick. Warm, and crisp on the inside which I like. It paired well with the blackberry jam. A friend ordered the chili burger. The burger was heaping with chili over a substantial all beef patty and piping hot. It was tasty and can fill any appetite. He recommended the burger be eaten with a fork. The fish basket was ordered with a side of hash browns and coleslaw. The fish was substantial with a crispy crust and flaky inside. The hush puppies were large, crispy with a sweet inside filled nicely with Jalepano, corn, and onion. The coleslaw sweet and creamy. All of the group shared each of the items and summized they were the best they've had. Now let's talk about the pancakes. They are just as big as the picture show, also known as hubcap size for those that remember hubcaps. They came out hot and steaming. The taste of these mammoth cakes was exceptional with a hint of sweetness, not needing syrup. Our group ordered both blueberry and original. This place spared no expense with the blue berries. The pancakes were the hit of the meal, however the bisquits are solid. Moist, homemade with a wonderful fluffy texture encapsulated by a light brown crust. These are great with honey, jam, or by their selves. Every dish was based on one of the above items and were all given compliments. The price is quite reasonable for the portion sizes. They now accept credit cards for payment and we paid at the table. This place is great, if you have time to wait. If you don't I would suggest you make time in your schedule if you are a foodie. Our group highly recommends Billy Gail's as we sit here for our second round this week. read more

Not much to say other than it's everting the reviews claim it to be! The pancake isn't only massive it tastes amazing and soaks up the syrup perfectly! We went twice! One morning I had the breakfast burrito, personally I like it a bit spicier but I can't say anything was wrong. 2nd day I had the chicken fried steak and eggs. WOW! Batter in the steak was perfect! Service is attentive and the staff is quick to get the food out. And the inside is really cool the way dining rooms are set up separately to provide a more intimate experience even though it's a large place. Also fun how you feel like you're in a cabin. Delicious! Our hands down favorite restaurant in Branson. We tried to go around 8:30 on a Thursday (early July) but there was a 45 minute wait and we didn't have time. We tried again the following Sunday and *only* had a 25 minute wait when we arrived about 8am. So, definitely get there early! There is large, additional parking area to the right and they will shuttle you to and from the restaurant in a golf cart at no charge. Restaurant has neat decor like a TGIFridays or Cracker Barrel would have, but with local decor. Server was friendly. We ordered the little hen breakfast for our daughter (but paid the up charge for fried bologna instead of bacon - it was worth it!!) and my husband and I shared the belly buster. Oh my goodness. SO MUCH FOOD!!!!!! The highlight though was the double stack 14" wide pancakes. The three of us couldn't even finish them. I've had large pancakes before that were very mediocre but these were the best. I'm sad Branson is so far from us because I'm totally craving them now. This place is nuts, but in a good way. I have only come here on week days to avoid crowds, but have seen the huge line while driving by on a Saturday. The food is good and the portions are huge. The belly buster is $12 and will feed 2 average adults. I didn't quite finish it due to wanting to be able to survive my hike afterwards. So full. I really love the moist and thick pancakes here, and the hash browns were crispy on top with tender center and not greasy. The eggs were perfectly fried and biscuit was solid. The bacon is good, but could be thicker or have some smoke to it. Service was courteous and competent. Most meals are under $10, which is great, just remember cash! read more
