We went for breakfast on our way out of town. Staff was friendly. The food is fine, but not necessarily worth the hour long wait.

Went there while on vacation with another family. 10 of us altogether. Parking situation is very challenging, but doable if you are patient. By that I mean, you may have to wait for a spot to open up. We were quoted a 35 minute wait, but were pleasantly surprised after only about 15 or 20 minutes with an open table. Also, you can get coffee while you are in the waiting area, and then take it with you to your table once you are seated. That was a nice touch. The atmosphere is very rustic and "Ozark". Servers were all very nice. I had the Gail's famous omelette, which had pretty much everything in it. It was definitely good. It came with hashbrowns and a biscuit. My wife had the breakfast special, which (that day) was a strawberry French toast, which was OK but not great. The strawberries were not very sweet and they were not freshly cut. The French toast itself was good, however. My son had a pancake that was "yuge", about twice as big as his head. He almost finished it. It was pretty entertaining. My daughter had the French cakes which is a pancake that is then dipped in French toast batter and cooked on the griddle. That was an interesting concept that we wanted to try. She had the pecan French cakes, and they were pretty good, but again, not great. The pancakes and French cakes are more of a flat thin pancake rather than a fluffy diner type pancake. The bacon was very smoky flavored and really good. Overall, a unique, out-of-the-way place, worth a little bit of a drive to give it a try. read more

No social distancing enforced at ALL! They are packing the entire restaurant to 100% capacity. Tables are stacked right on top of each other and you're less than a foot away from each other and no one has masks on while they're waiting for food. It's not like it was originally .. as rustic etc but with new owners comes progress so if you went for certain features that only the original BG had, you won't find it. We come to Branson pretty often and we have driven by this place many times and only because we have two little ones have we not wanted to do the long wait but I looked up the times that it's not as busy according to google.com and woke up early just to have breakfast here. However, it will give you time to visit with family or meet new friends as they are also waiting in the comfortable waiting area outdoors. Once you get you seat the wait staff is quick and courteous and are very attentive. They keep the coffee cup full and and helpful even if you want to share one of their larger orders. The eggs are always perfect, hash browns crispy but not overdone, and the bacon tasty. The pancakes are on a whole mother level in size and flavor. If your looking for a quaint one of a kind breakfast joint... this is it! Originally an old service station, this county corky restaurant can make dreams come true. The wait staff are so amazingly friendly with the "everyone's our neighbor" attitude. They take the time to greet every table and get to know people. Gail, one of the original owners, also makes rounds throughout the restaurant making sure everyone leaves with a smile. So rare to find. One recommendation is to get there early. By about 9am the place is hopping. If you happen to get there during a busy time grab yourself a cup of coffee in the self serve area. Take time to explore the little store area or grab a seat outside in a rocking chair. The food they serve here is no joke. Always amazing and always fresh. They serve mainly breakfast, but also have some lunch options. The Billy Belly Buster Meal is one of my favorites and HUGE! Basically a sampler platter of breakfast goodness. Three eggs, hasbrowns, two sausage (or bacon), a biscuit (or toast), and two crazy big pancakes that fall off the plate.
