Burnt muffin almost as black as stovetop
Kami H.

The ice cream was very good but the flavors we had were too soft. The waffle cones had a good flavor too. The real disappointment was selling us a very burnt chocolate chip muffin with paper around it so you couldn't tell it was burnt. The muffin was to go so we didn't know til we got back to the condo. It was not edible at all. The muffin case was also labeled coffee cake muffin which this was not any version of a coffee cake muffin I have ever seen. I even asked the cashier if it was coffee cake and she said yes.

The ice cream is ALWAYS amazing. The coffee is also ALWAYS the best around town. Staff is friendly too. We love this place.

Found this charming gem of a place on Yelp! Amazing!!!!! Worth it!!!! Do it!!! You won't regret it!!! This place is literally a hole in the wall but once inside you are transported to the most magical sweet sensation

Such a cute shop! I got a cold coffee and the ice cubes in it were frozen coffee. It was delicious and I love that it didn't get watered down. We also came back a second time in the same day to try the ice cream. The single scoop is a huge serving. I could hardly finish it but it was so good! Definitely worth the stop. Update- we went again and got the Funky flight of ice cream! This allows you to pick and try 6 different flavors and was only $10. It was all so good.

Amazing spot to stop for ice cream. Super cute decor and very friendly and accommodating staff. They have some dairy free options as well as many gluten free options. Their PB & J ice cream was absolutely delicious!

We love supporting local business. So we were excited to find this spot on our trip to Kimberling City. This cute little coffee and ice cream shop is the place to go for some good coffee. They had several different flavors of coffee (including seasonal). I had the Salted Chocolate latte and my husband had a Mocha latte. They were both very good and a great pick me up. We ran out of time to try the ice cream while there, but it looked delicious. We are definitely going to make a point to try it the next time we are in town. They have 50 rotating flavors that include sorbets, gluten free and dairy free options. They also offer a funky sundae, root beer float, frappe, a brulee banana split and the best thing ever a flight of your choice of ice creams. The staff was sweet and helpful. They also carry a few souvenirs from tees to tumblers. So if you find yourself in Kimberling City head over to the Funky Twig!

How is it possible to have such a remarkable ice cream in the middle of little Kimberling City?? I am immensely impressed by the quality of The Funky Twig! Don't be deceived by the location, the proof is in the product. Confidently, I can say that the best ice cream in the Branson area is @thefunkytwig in Kimberling City, right by Table Rock Lake. The texture is silky and delicate, and smoothly scoops onto a cone (similar to Utah's Rockwell Ice Cream) Their homemade waffle cones are also a treat! Soft and molded perfectly with a touch of cinnamon: paired beautifully with the Banana Nut ice cream (I consumed it all..). Their flavors are also executed perfectly. Some of our favorites were: Pb&j (peanut butter ice cream with berry jam ripple) Dark Chocolate Almond Cherry (almond cherry ice cream with tiny chocolate bits) Maple Bourbon Bacon (maple lite bourbon ice cream with bacon pieces) Chocolately Chocolate (deep, rich cocoa ice cream) They announce their flavors DAILY on their Facebook page. This place is worth the detour in any vacation.

Great ice cream. Friendly service. Short drive from the Talking Rock cavern. If just need a taste, try the 1/2 scoop.

Metered street and lot parking were within a brisk albeit slight uphill walk for us on 7.23.2025. Because our dog was not allowed inside, I trusted my two pre-teens to order with cash. My daughters said the employee was very nice... and fast too! The flavors were just like the name - Pure Joy! They offer items such as Rosemary Peach Ice Cream, Pawpaw Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, Pawpaw Lime Sorbet, Sumac Lemonade, Ozark Eggnog, and Ripe Persimmon Sorbet. My daughters settled for Strawberry Lavender Sorbet and I think Blueberry Buttermilk Ice Cream. I remembered it being a little on the pricey side, then after viewing their Insta page I realized it's probably because the owners travel to Mexico to pick some of their own ingredients. Maybe... a made-from-scratch bourbon caramel mixed into a dark stout ice cream? Orrrrr - a berried lemonade sorbet made black by activated charcoal??? Then you haven't lived!! (J/k... but seriously... you should try it!!) This is Pure Joy's 2nd location. They're still working on the inside as of Oct 2025, so more updates to be enjoyed! But the ICE CREAM?? That's here to stay! And if you'd like to hear a very fun story, ask how they source their vanilla pods from a farm in Mexico, and NOT from a woman named Esperanza!!! lol - seriously. Just ask the owner. He's fabulous - even when we rolled in with a party of seven at 9:55pm, 5 minutes before closing!

The custard in the coconut cream was cold, creamy and laced with coconut and topped with a perfect level of whipped crème. I'm not a whipped cream girl but it was pretty tastee! The ambiance of this place is fun and retro. There is a main jukebox at the front and smaller options at some of the tables. The menu included about six different pies and several types of cheesecake. There were also several ice cream options as well as diner food, like burgers and dogs and sandwiches. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who eats.

It has that classic vacation town feeling where getting ice cream just feels like part of the whole trip. Plus they have funnel cake and how can you not stop for funnel cake?! Great spot to cool off after walking around all day too! They have a lot of options, so it's easy to find something that sounds good whether you want pizza, hot dogs, a burger, ice cream, cake, or something extra sweet. Portions were generous in traditional diner fashion, everything was delish as well! Inside can get busy, especially during peak tourist times when we were there, so expect a little chaos and line movement going slow depending when you go. That's pretty normal for Branson, but worth knowing if you're tired or in a hurry. Overall, a pretty great stop!

All the flavors we tried were delicious including the chocolate with habanero, bourbon butter pecan (SO good), candy bar bomb, and key lime pie. Pretty straight forward in letting us know free samples were offered and showed waffle cones. Scoops were generous. [Ice Cream] wow! Definitely can taste they use a homemade premium cream base, not a singular taste of any ice. Almost custard like because it was so rich. I tried banana pudding (very banana but the fresh natural kind) and root beer float (tasted exactly like the name!!). I got German chocolate cake (vegan & gluten free) and Chocolate Chunk Brownie. My friends got vanilla and peanut butter fudge with caramel. We all Kept going back for more. German chocolate cake was one of the maybe three vegan options. It was very decadent and honestly I have no idea how this was vegan. It was as rich and creamy as the non vegan ones. Happily not icey at all!! Unlike other vegan ice creams. There was a quite a bit of coconut shavings in each bite. Definitely an amazing vegan chocolate flavor - vegan ice cream makers need to take note! Chocolate Chunk Brownie was extremely rich. It said it had brownie chunks and chocolate chips. However, after getting 2 servings of it - there was no brownie in sight. Which disappointed me along with I wish it was a more deep chocolate taste. Vanilla was definitely rich and creamy. Waffle cone was sweeter than others. I think they added extra vanilla - absolutely one of the best waffle cones I ever had! [seating and shoppe] outdoor seating that was shady in the eving perfect for a summer evening. Interior had seating and paper towel rolls. Beautiful bright colors inside. [overall] definitely a rich creamy homemade base to the ice cream flavors. I went back for seconds!
