Me and my buddy decided to visit Branson for a movie and we decided to stop in at a random place to…read moreeat. We decided on Crazy Craig's treehouse, one that looked like cozy simple affordable food. Upon walking into the establishment, we discovered that the parking lot is a tight entry with the infamous Branson hills. The exterior was appealing and cool to look at yet the interior was cramped and barely any room to sit. They did have a nice area to sit upstairs though the pool table upstairs didn't contain the ball rack and the table was incredibly dirty/unmaintained. Moving onto the service. We were told to sit anywhere and someone would come and check on us, it was several minutes before someone came to check what we wanted with little to no business going on. However they were nice so that was a nice plus. The pricing for this place is a little overpriced for the simple food menu they have. We paid 10 dollars for chips and queso and the serving size that was on the platter was barely enough to feed us both. Our main entrees were easily 15 dollars a plate and not to mention that it took quite a lot of time for everything to come out. The overall taste of the food/drinks were very disappointing. My Dr Pepper was extremely flat no matter a refill or not, the chips were stale, and the queso tasted like fake cheese (only cheese I can compare it to is lunchables). My chicken sandwich I ordered was incredibly subpar: especially since when I pay 15 dollars for a sandwich I want a patty and not two chicken tenders plastered on a bun. Especially the pepper jack cheese on my tender sandwich had absolutely no spice which made me believe it was fake cheese as well. Even the pepper from the shaker only had a hint of the taste of pepper. The worst experience in this first and last visit was the fact that the pepper sauce (hot sauce) was all expired. Our tables sauce had expired on July 2025! I checked other tables and only one of the tables had a September 2027 date the rest had May 2025. So I didn't use any condiments on my food which overall ruined my meal. The only truly good food product I had was the French fries so if you go here just order the fries from the appetizer section and seeing how they are a bar as well: drink while you're here because you will need it to get through main entrees. Overall: friendly slow service, bad food, bad soda, and tight space and parking lot. Not worth your time!

We settled on a fried pork tenderloin and a single burger. The food was excellent, freshly prepared, and piping hot upon arrival. The staff was very helpful and attentive. The drinks are self-serve but members of the staff asked if I'd like a refill and did the running for me. They even brought me a "to-go" cup when we finished our meal. It was very comfortable and quiet during our visit but with a full dining room it has the potential to be a bit noisier. With a live band, it could be more than a bit louder. Inside, we were handed a pager and told we may have a 20-minute wait. A very kind and pleasant young Black man readily offered up his seat to older patrons, spoke kindly, and did so at least twice. The wait was short. A kind, smiling young waitress took our initial order, and soon hot food began to arrive, even though the place was packed. A nice touch was the live solo country musician performing. I ordered fried green tomatoes, and my wife had the catfish basket. As I looked around, the helpings were large. No way I could eat all that! I noticed on Yelp that one could order the fish half size. Water and lemonade round out the entree. The fried green tomatoes were battered, flaky, and cooked well. But after eating a few, it was too oily. The catfish was done well but was too salty, as were the hush puppies. I've never drunk toilet water, but if I had, it surely would taste like the water I drank. No thanks. The water tasted bad even with the lemon. The restaurant didn't make the water. However, it desperately needs a filter--cudos to the kitchen and servers for plating and serving the food nice and hot. Now the bill. I noticed a 3.5% surcharge if you used a card. I was also shocked to find an additional charge of 1.99 because, according to the receipt, I was over 12 years old ordering a kids' meal. Wait, what! Less food, but an upcharge? Then another upcharge for substituting onion rings for fries. Now my final takeaway. I always ask myself, would I return for more? No, I would not. I try to judge the food first because there are "hole-in-the-wall" places that serve great food. Was the food seasoned? The food was, but when the salt is the main thing that stands out, it's just too salty. If so, what are you trying to hide? Last, they didn't even question whether we wanted dessert from the menu: just a smile and a goodbye from the waitress. I left a nice tip for the service and went on my way.

Once called for our table we were greeted with the friendliest hostess and shown to our table. She handed each of us our menus and opened them for us. Our waitress, Abigail, was knowledgeable and provided details on the menu items we had questions about. The Fried Pork Belly starter was a table favorite! So tender and full of flavor. The Founders Burger was cooked perfectly and had an amazing brioche bun. Shrimp and Grits had okra in it if that's not your thing. Lastly, the Braised Short Rib served in mashed potato with asparagus. This was a huge portion and the short rib was so delicious. Our table did our ice cream for dessert and it did not disappoint!
