Chicken Tender Basket cornbread and sweet potato fries
Kourtney Y.

Come hungry, leave in a wheelbarrow. These portions are enormous so you're definitely getting your money's worth! When you walk in, there's a small waiting area with some trinkets and shirts. The dining room has large tables in the middle and some booths along the windows. Despite it being busy, the noise level was very reasonable. Jocelyn was our server and she was awesome. Very attentive and helpful despite having several tables. The food was delicious, but so filling. I'm not usually a corn bread person, but this was incredible and with the honey butter spread .. wow. Also- the cheesecake was the best I've had, hands down. Even better than the establishment known for cheesecake Edit: We came back for breakfast the next morning and weren't disappointed with breakfast, either. The pancake is still shockingly large despite knowing it's a 14" cake. It's hands down the best pancake I've had. Usually they're just bread to me, but this one was delicious even without butter or syrup. Make sure to order their special bacon if you want to try it- the menu says bacon, but it's just traditional bacon unless otherwise specified.

Birthday Pancake

We loved this place! It was so delicious!!! Everything was HUGE (they are known for bigger portions sizes)! The service was amazing & they also gave us a free birthday confetti pancake! Yummy! It was a HUGE establishment, but wait times can vary from 30 up to 2 hours on waiting when busy! (Very much a tourist attraction)!

Day one of our vacation, we came around 8am for breakfast--WOW! First of all, the service was top-notch. Zero complaints. As a matter of fact, every worker we came across seemed genuinely happy to be there. 10/10. This is a great casual joint serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner all day long. The decor and local nostalgia make you feel like you're experiencing something really special, like a true Branson local. The food was also delicious. I opted for a classic breakfast (Gail's ranch breakfast) and everything was cooked to perfection. My boyfriend got the tri tip sandwich, which I also tried, and it was FABULOUS. They know how to smoke some meat! All in all I would highly recommend!!

Fried fish

We went with a very large group and we had a prefixed menu. My husband ordered the fish and it was delicious! I was low-key jealous however I was craving something sweet so I went with them giant pancake with hashbrowns and bacon. Very good. We had fantastic service, the food came out fast, and 36 people said they enjoyed their meals! The only downside is that the seats in both sides of our booth were broken down so when you sat down, your butt went straight to the wood. Absolutely no cushion at all, and you were about 6 inches shorter than you needed to be.

Service was super fast and our waiter Carissa was great! We came in on a Thursday around midday and it was pretty busy, but the service was still way quicker than we expected. My son ordered the 14-inch pancake, and we all got a kick out of how HUGE it was My daughter ordered the kids pancake, and even that was a good size! I ordered the meat omelet, but it was a little too greasy for me, so I ended up sending it back and having it taken off the bill. The rolls and hashbrowns were really good though! Overall, for the amount of food you get, the prices are very reasonable. The portions are definitely big, and we had a good experience. We would come back again to try more!

If you are looking for a great breakfast place in Branson, this is it! Fabulous food, friendly service, big portions, whatever you are looking for, Billy Gail's has it all. Our server was great and was happy to give us recommendations from the menu. Absolutely everything we tried was delicious. One of my favorites was the huge biscuit and side of white gravy. This sausage gravy was so good! And, of course, the 14 inch pancakes were the bomb. My husband and I couldn't even finish half of that after all of the other deliciousness, but we made a good effort, lol. Don't miss out on Billy Gail's the next time you visit Branson!

Country Fried Steak Combo

Nothing other to say other than... this place is awesome. Our server Barbara was attentive and always kept our drinks filled. If I have to recommend a plate... the chicken fried steak is legitimately fantastic. HUGE!! But the batter is perfect, and meat is well seasoned. Highly recommend this place to anyone! Enjoy!

Lots of road and retail signs to look at.

While you wait there are plenty of traffic signs and other local memorabilia on the walls to review here. But, our breakfast selection came up quickly, so there wasn't much of a wait. We two chose Billy Gayle's classic breakfast combo, which included its legendary 14-inch pancake, plus scrambled eggs, plus ham steak, plus a couple of slices of bacon, plus hash browns. That combo cost less than two standard entrées and was more than enough for two. Everything was well cooked; service was attentive. About that pancake: If you're not too hungry, a quarter of it is slightly smaller than the standard IHOP pancake, meaning one can feed multiple diners.

Pulled pork burrito and cheese curds

Service is great, but this is the worst food I have ever about had. I got the pulled pork burrito, so much egg and no meat except for the little they give you on the top of your burrito. My husband got the donut burger which he only ended up eating the patty lol. Cheese curds were okay, and potatoes were okay. Much better places to go

Cinnamon roll pancake

Let me tell you I'm a huge breakfast fan! I LOOOVE a good breakfast. I was in Branson for spring break, and Billy Gail's Ultimate Breakfast Combo is my favorite thing I ate for my whole time in Branson. I chose bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, hash browns, and a French toast pancake. I had enough for 2 meals. It was very delicious, and I'm a breakfast snob. My brother had the cinnamon roll pancake and loved it. There were 9 of us, ages 9-77, and everyone enjoyed their meals.

Thanksgiving lunch (minus the pie)

We went in as a party of 7 on Thanksgiving day. We knew there would be a wait, but it wasn't bad! We arrived at 11 and were seated just before noon. They had an excellent Thanksgiving meal of ham, turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, yams, stuffing, pie, oh MY! My daughters ordered the double chocolate pancake. They loved it too! Huge portions so dinner is covered. Parking is simple and I'd Highly recommend our server, Miss Pat. She is awesome!

Pancake and bacon

The pancakes were so yummy! Usually hate places with big portions but this one doesn't disappoint. The bacon is also really yummy and the servers were so sweet! Make a stop here for breakfast

Short stack.

Service was good. Regular stack of 2 pancakes fed 2 people easily and had enough leftovers for 3 additional meals. Food was tasty and filling. Highly recommend the pancakes.

We enjoyed the shot of their "Crazy" drink when we sat down. It's a good appetite starter! We got…read morethe Rueben and Italian beef sandwiches. They arrived with the meat and fillings oozing from the sides after being grilled on their panini machine. They were hot and came with the appropriate dipping sauces. Our waiter was fun and explained that the Italian beef was spicy- it was but not too. Very very tasty and thanks for the warning. The treehouse decor is fun and tvs with every game were playling. All in all a great lunch!

Me and my buddy decided to visit Branson for a movie and we decided to stop in at a random place to…read moreeat. We decided on Crazy Craig's treehouse, one that looked like cozy simple affordable food. Upon walking into the establishment, we discovered that the parking lot is a tight entry with the infamous Branson hills. The exterior was appealing and cool to look at yet the interior was cramped and barely any room to sit. They did have a nice area to sit upstairs though the pool table upstairs didn't contain the ball rack and the table was incredibly dirty/unmaintained. Moving onto the service. We were told to sit anywhere and someone would come and check on us, it was several minutes before someone came to check what we wanted with little to no business going on. However they were nice so that was a nice plus. The pricing for this place is a little overpriced for the simple food menu they have. We paid 10 dollars for chips and queso and the serving size that was on the platter was barely enough to feed us both. Our main entrees were easily 15 dollars a plate and not to mention that it took quite a lot of time for everything to come out. The overall taste of the food/drinks were very disappointing. My Dr Pepper was extremely flat no matter a refill or not, the chips were stale, and the queso tasted like fake cheese (only cheese I can compare it to is lunchables). My chicken sandwich I ordered was incredibly subpar: especially since when I pay 15 dollars for a sandwich I want a patty and not two chicken tenders plastered on a bun. Especially the pepper jack cheese on my tender sandwich had absolutely no spice which made me believe it was fake cheese as well. Even the pepper from the shaker only had a hint of the taste of pepper. The worst experience in this first and last visit was the fact that the pepper sauce (hot sauce) was all expired. Our tables sauce had expired on July 2025! I checked other tables and only one of the tables had a September 2027 date the rest had May 2025. So I didn't use any condiments on my food which overall ruined my meal. The only truly good food product I had was the French fries so if you go here just order the fries from the appetizer section and seeing how they are a bar as well: drink while you're here because you will need it to get through main entrees. Overall: friendly slow service, bad food, bad soda, and tight space and parking lot. Not worth your time!

We settled on a fried pork tenderloin and a single burger. The food was excellent, freshly prepared, and piping hot upon arrival. The staff was very helpful and attentive. You order at the counter and take your number to the table and the kitchen delivers it in a very reasonable time. The drinks are self-serve but members of the staff asked if I'd like a refill and did the running for me. They even brought me a "to-go" cup when we finished our meal. It was very comfortable and quiet during our visit but with a full dining room it has the potential to be a bit noisier. With a live band, it could be more than a bit louder. Tips: Head to the back and browse the vendor booths on the way. Expect to make some compromise decisions. You can't eat everything at one visit. On the way out buy something and support a local vendor. The building's purpose to give local vendors a place to sell. No vendors will cause the grill's rent to skyrocket.

Inside, we were handed a pager and told we may have a 20-minute wait. A very kind and pleasant young Black man readily offered up his seat to older patrons, spoke kindly, and did so at least twice. The wait was short. A kind, smiling young waitress took our initial order, and soon hot food began to arrive, even though the place was packed. A nice touch was the live solo country musician performing. I ordered fried green tomatoes, and my wife had the catfish basket. As I looked around, the helpings were large. No way I could eat all that! I noticed on Yelp that one could order the fish half size. Water and lemonade round out the entree. The fried green tomatoes were battered, flaky, and cooked well. But after eating a few, it was too oily. The catfish was done well but was too salty, as were the hush puppies. I've never drunk toilet water, but if I had, it surely would taste like the water I drank. No thanks. The water tasted bad even with the lemon. The restaurant didn't make the water. However, it desperately needs a filter--cudos to the kitchen and servers for plating and serving the food nice and hot. Now the bill. I noticed a 3.5% surcharge if you used a card. I was also shocked to find an additional charge of 1.99 because, according to the receipt, I was over 12 years old ordering a kids' meal. Wait, what! Less food, but an upcharge? Then another upcharge for substituting onion rings for fries. Now my final takeaway. I always ask myself, would I return for more? No, I would not. I try to judge the food first because there are "hole-in-the-wall" places that serve great food. Was the food seasoned? The food was, but when the salt is the main thing that stands out, it's just too salty. If so, what are you trying to hide? Last, they didn't even question whether we wanted dessert from the menu: just a smile and a goodbye from the waitress. I left a nice tip for the service and went on my way.

Once called for our table we were greeted with the friendliest hostess and shown to our table. She handed each of us our menus and opened them for us. Our waitress, Abigail, was knowledgeable and provided details on the menu items we had questions about. The Fried Pork Belly starter was a table favorite! So tender and full of flavor. The Founders Burger was cooked perfectly and had an amazing brioche bun. Shrimp and Grits had okra in it if that's not your thing. Lastly, the Braised Short Rib served in mashed potato with asparagus. This was a huge portion and the short rib was so delicious. Our table did our ice cream for dessert and it did not disappoint! Highly recommend! We visit the area often and will definitely be back to try more of the menu items. It's a must if in the Branson area and well worth the wait. This restaurant is at College of the Ozarks and students work at this farm to table establishment as well as making items that are for sale in the shops.
