This is my third visit to Billy Gail's. I've been to the original location, the Springfield location, and then this newest location. And still I don't get the appeal. The employees act inconvenienced by your mere presence. I know it's very busy, but please try to be hospitable when the patrons come to your table. Also, the food is very below average. The bacon is burnt every time I've been. Today everyone at the table ordered something different, and yet everyone described their food as "dry." Even the one who had biscuits and gravy described their dish as dry. I want to like it. It has the Branson "look" and "appeal", which I love. We tried out Billy Gail's 2X this week while in Branson. No wait for a table on Thursday around 2. It did take a little bit to get the food, but it was super fresh. Wait was very minimal for a table on Friday night at dinner time. Also, we received our food very fast. First day I got a pancake and they are huge! Also, the best hash browns that I have ever had. The 2nd day I ordered the mighty tenderloin meal with mashed potatoes and okra. It was all delicious. The roll that came with the entree reminded me of Rex's Chicken's fry bread that used to be in Tulsa, OK. My Mom had French toast both days and said it was excellent. I tried it and it was very good! My dad got the 5 egg omelette on the 1st day and country fried chicken with mashed potatoes and okra. He liked both, but the omelette was his favorite. read more

First time at this location. Plenty of parking and seating. The ambiance was just like you'd expect, if you've been before. If not, think comfort food on steroids. We went on a Saturday morning and were seated right away. Ordered our food, and it was quickly delivered. My wife got the Sloppy Biscuit, and I got the Chicken Fried Steak breakfast. Both were great. As usual. Portion size was HUGE, and for the price you can't go wrong. We've never had a bad experience, or a bad menu choice. My only complaint is on my iced tea refill, the waitress brought back sweet tea, which I'm convinced is poison. I had plenty of water though, and was already stuffed, so no harm. read more

Disappointing. It serves breakfast lunch and brunch. The menu is similar to that of a Waffle House with a few extras thrown in. I had the Ultimate Fried Bologna sandwich. If that's there idea of thick cut they need to re-evaluate. I've had thicker Oscar Meyer bologna. It was ok but not worth the $14.99 Everything was standard greasy diner fare and nothing stood out from the burgers to the salads we ordered. If it was priced correctly I would have a different opinion but your money can be put towards better meals elsewhere. The atmosphere is nice and well done and our service was fine. But beyond that , don't believe the hype. it's not worth driving out of your way to get to. read more

Overall, it was a great experience. The food was excellent, and the atmosphere was inviting. The server was amiable and attentive. I have to say I would have given the wings a 10/10, but they were slightly overcooked in some spots. But they get a 9/10. Stopped into this place because it was highly recommended by several people. It was a Saturday morning and place was jammed packed. As we waited for a table, I noticed one of the cooks on his phone and holding it with his food safety glove. He was cooking and then switching his phone between hands. He was grabbing plates from the pass (with his glove that was all over his phone) and putting more food on it. I was completely grossed out by the lack of proper hygiene--we ended up leaving. Most individuals don't clean their phones and should take better precautions when in food environment. Phones go with us in bathrooms, dirty stores, and are filled with a bunch of bacteria. It was very good and I apologize but I neglected to snap some pics. However, it was because I was so distracted by my neighbors 14" pancake (of which I did snap a pic). This place is cool on the inside and the staff was friendly. The food didn't take long but came out barely warm. French toast was almost all crust and had no flavor. Same with the eggs. The hashbrowns were cold and crunchy on top. I had to pull off the hard top layer to get anything soft to eat. My kids did like the 14 inch pancake but it's wasteful. Not at all happy. read more

We went for breakfast and it was so busy we decided to come another day. We went back in the middle of the week and got seated right away. The waitress took a long time to come ask for our drinks so we gave her our food order as well. The food came out quickly but it was not what we expected. A huge plate of piled up home fried potatoes with bacon mixed in topped with two over medium eggs. We ate the eggs and a little of the potato/bacon mix and called it a day. I would say the saying bigger is always better is not always correct. The potatoes were bland and the bacon pieces were overcooked. I have eaten (tried to eat) twice and had to leave after just a few bites. The first meal I tried to eat was chicken fried steak. The breading was more than twice as thick as the steak so I scraped off breading to find a steak that was uneatable. I forgot what I had the second time, but after an unreasonable amount of time waiting for my food it arrived cold. I let the waiter know both times what my issue was and was handed the bill with no attempt to remedy the issues. I will never return! read more

Finally got to try this restaurant to see what it was all about. Got there about 7:30 for dinner and no waiting. I got the 4 piece fried chicken with beans , cole slaw and mashed potatoes. Chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, but was kind of bland . Mashed potatoes and green beans were good . The cole slaw was a different story.
