Went here on our way to Windsor castle, not really knowing much about it. Very tourist friendly! The chicken sandwich was great, so tender and the chipotle mayo was very good. Cute decor, lovely color scheme. We felt at home as Americans (chips were labeled as fries ). American father rated the burger 8/10. Pancakes weren't spectacular, but they were still decent. The star of the show was probably the chicken sandwich, or the lettuce bowl the Caesar salad was served in!

For main I had seafood linguine and it was lovely and for dessert I had a lovely mini strawberry and hazelnut cheesecake pot and that was nice but could of had a bit more of a compressed base as it was very loose but otherwise lovely.staff were very nice and gave us a great experience and the service was very good. I do recommend it if you ever come to Windsor.

They get a four star for food but a three star for service... we ordered burgers, steaks, mac & cheese, & chicken. We didn't have to wait too long to get our orders taken but we also had a reservation. The steak was "rubbery" quoted 5/10, the mac & cheese was a 6/10, & the pan fried chicken was a decent 6/10. Our biggest complaint would be that all the food was served except one dish that didn't come until about 15-20 mins after (once everyone else was finished eating). It was not a very busy time of day either. It also was hard to get servers attention & our drinks did not get refilled. Although the food was decent for our first time in Windsor & we had great company with us, the service made the experience less enjoyable.

Wow, this was really good! Honestly, we just picked the closest place to the train boarding area and had a great lunch. They are obviously popular because we had to wait 20 minutes after the lunch hour. Our server was really friendly and provided great service. I ordered the fish sandwich which was prepared perfectly (see photo). The server recommended the gnocchi as his favorite so my wife order that. She commented that it was some of the best she has had. Great experience and really good food!

Food was amazing and the variety on the menu was great too. Staff was super friendly and there was a nice ambiance.

    English breakfast with black puddings

We were looking for a typical english breakfast above all with black pudding which you cant find anywhere. This was the only place we found in Windsor. The breakfast was awesome, that made our lunch too !! Breakfasts are done until 12pm Very tasty, beautiful servings. We liked !

Avocado toast at Bill's - Royal Windsor Train Station

This is one of the better breakfast places in Windsor. We had a few options between us and the winners were the eggs benny and the avocado toast (with smoked salmon). The potato rusti was great too - not too salty. The bacon is not traditional English style but still good. The coffee is lovely (a must for me) and it has a classic Italian flavour. Don't come if you are in a rush...but service was good (they actually cared even if a tad understaffed). One of the best locations in the Royal Windsor Train Station. I will be back.

This restaurant (a chain, I heard) is located right downtown, about a 2 minute walk from the WIndsor Castle. It's also right next to the train track that will take you to Slough (then to London). That's about a 15 second walk. Anyway, I went in for some breakfast. Yes, I do love English breakfasts. This one was nothing short of pretty damn good. It had the usual suspects on the plate - eggs, bacon, sausage, tomatoes, black pudding and the lot. I really enjoyed it. The cup of tea was also good. Well, you get a pot of tea that you can squeeze probably 4 cups of the drink out of. Not sure how the Brits can drink so much tea in one sitting but they do - and I almost did too! The decor is ok. Nothing remarkable but a very comfortable place with friendly wait staff. Compared to the place that I checked close by, this one has better value. Enjoy!

To check out more pictures and detailed review on 10 Eats I Still Dream of (London, York, Edinburgh), please refer to my blog: https://laviedeshan.wixsite.com/home/single-post/2017/08/25/10-Eats-I-Still-Dream-of-London-York-Edinburgh This is a restaurant chain. I've seen them several times all over the place and I heard many good things about it, so I had to try it. Finally I tried on near the Windsor train station on my way to visit Windsor Castle. The omelette was fluffy, vegetables and bacon were really fresh and sauce was well balanced.

One of my favorite spots in Windsor. Great food, services and space. I love the Eggs Royale.

Meh...it's ok. They got the order slightly wrong. One of us received perfectly crispy bacon. 2 of us received soggy-greasy bacon.

That area is awash with world-class restaurants owned/run by top-name chefs. We had many opportunities to indulge, but also to gain a better appreciation of blending flavours, food preparation and presentation, service, and, basically, style. It was a pleasure to come to Shaun Dickens' restaurant and experience the same very high quality of service, food, and style as we had over the previous years. Shaun even emailed me prior to our meal to check on our vegetarian preferences, which I had referenced in my reservation. Nice touch. Walking through the door, we were warmly welcomed, ushered to a window-view table, and provided with pre-dinner amuse-bouches, along with a pre-dinner drinks menu. The wine menu showed a broad range of excellent choices from all over the world, which was refreshing compared to the almost all-California wine menu (as you would expect) in San Francisco. Our appetisers and main courses were things of beauty - almost too well presented to want to spoil. But spoil we did, and the fantastic range of flavours left us sated... but still with some room for dessert. A "happy birthday" message was kindly written on to my wife's dessert plate, and we were given after dinner treats along with an extremely reasonable bill. One of the servers, the young lady who presented all the dishes, was extremely professional and polite, clearly mindful of delivering a higher level of dining experience - but by some standards she might want to relax a little. Overall, an excellent choice for a special meal, and we will definitely go back for more.

There was outdoor areas with lighting, but a tad too cold out. Cute areas though. They were pretty busy as well and luckily we got a good table. Wait staff were friendly, pace of service was a little slower than what I'm used to. Had to hail someone down quite a bit, but overall food was great. We started out with cocktails because there was a special, happy hour going on. Potted Devon crab with avocado guacamole and chicken liver parfait. Not sure why I expected the Devon crab to be hot.... but it was tasty. I craved a couple more pieces of toast. I got the duck leg confit with citrus sauce and my friend got St. Austell's Tribute Steak and Ale pie. The duck was delicious. Perfectly cooked, sauce went well with it. The Dauphinoise potato, I wanted more so badly. My plate was cleaned except for the bones. The steak and ale pie was not bad, my friend enjoyed it. We finished dinner off with their pistachio soufflé. I asked what was recommended for dessert, never had a pistachio soufflé before, and it was rich and sweet. Offset by the chocolate ice cream, which had a slight bitterness to it. Perfect combination. The table next to us got the chateaubriand for two. That looked amazing and had my mouth watering. If I'm ever back in the area, I do plan on making another trip hopefully.

This place definitely delivered. We sat outside in their pleasant garden. Only downside is it's not south facing so wasn't in the sun. We got a bit chilly after a while so we moved to one of their tables with a heater. Much more cosy. Service was very friendly. They brought some water and offered biscuits to our dog (always a winner). Food was excellent. The beetroot and burrata salad was particularly tasty and beautifully presented. Potted shrimp was also very tasty. It gets 4 rather than 5 because it is a little expensive. Worth it but still a bit pricey for a pub. We would definitely return if we were in the area as there were a lot of delectable sounding items on the menu.

What a find this place is! This is food about as good as it gets and the menu is ever changing…read morebased on what is locally available. The menu is simple and perfect, a choice of a 6 course or 8 course tasting menu; with a wine pairing option. They will happily alter to suite vegetarians etc. Everything we had, from a light broad bean and mint velouté soup, 20 minute sugar/salt cured fresh mackerel blow touched to crisp the skin, local beef and two deserts was outstanding. The staff were very professional, knowledgable and helpful. Decor is modern, clean and very attractive. There is absolutely nothing I can say negative about this place. Apparently others feel the same way, it is becoming extremely difficult to get a reservation. Interestingly the kitchen is open and a hive of activity. Steven Edwards (an award winning British chef) and his team clearly know what they are doing and are not afraid to experiment and surprise. For example; bread is a light, warmed brioche bun with a glossy Marmite glaze. Absolutely stunning, especially considering I do not like Marmite! My wife, daughter and me spent a very enjoyable 3 hours dinning at Etch and left very happy and pleasantly surprised. The 8 course tasting menu is not over indulgent, just right for anyone with a normal appetite. You may have noticed all my reviews to date on Yelp have been 5 star, this is deliberate. Life is too short to focus on that which does not make us happy. This is why I restrict my reviews to those things/places that make me happy and appreciate life. Sure, I have been to some really awful restaurants, but, like I said, life is too short to spend time thinking and writing about them
