Perfect place for a full English breakfast if you're traveling solo or have a few hours on your own (also, delicious mochas!) English breakfast is my absolute favorite - I've had it multiple times in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and the US, and thought the experience was lovely. I could have married the tomatoes; they were just a bit sweet and perfectly grilled. Black pudding texture was spot on, not too dry. Mushrooms were fresh. It was starting to get busy by the time I was finishing up, but I didn't feel rushed. Came here for breakfast and the bills brunch was amazing. Everything I had on the plate was delicious, but my favorite was probably the sausage. It was cooked perfectly and had a great snap from the casing. I also really liked the potatoes which reminded me of a creamier hash brown. My fiancée got the eggs Benedict and her was tasty also. I came here while traveling because I knew I couldn't leave London without trying a full English breakfast. Bill's was right around the corner from my hotel and had multiple vegetarian versions, and even though it's a chain, I decided to try it out. I had no trouble getting a window table; I think there was maybe one other person in the restaurant when I arrived. The friendly server approached with a large pot of tea and I knew I was in good hands. I had the veggie breakfast that had everything - eggs, toast, hollandaise, beans, mushrooms, tomatoes, salad, avocado, and probably other things I'm forgetting! It was perfect - hot, yummy, and of course very filling. My spouse didn't wake up early enough to come to breakfast with me, and he has no idea what he missed out on. read more

Upon entering this chain all have a rustic and welcoming feel to them, one where you would expect of a lobster place in an old coastal town on the eastern seaboard of America!! Hmmm okay maybe I over egged that a little, but only a little. So what do they serve... What dont they serve... What kind of food do they specialise in? What is their USP? (Oh sorry Unique Selling Point!)... Cos I really don't know... The napkin you get is like an old threadbare tea towel your Mother has used for years but still wont throw out! I just don't get it... Average to good good but most certainly you pay top price for it! If you haven't been before, check the menu BEFOREHAND and only dine if you all are really happy with the choices! And... Apparently a fairly popular chain here in England. We stopped in at the one on Kingsway as it was close to our hotel. We were so impressed with our breakfast that we went back for dinner on the same day. The customer service is spot on, friendly and efficient. The decor creates an amazing atmosphere both day and night. For breakfast I had the Blueberry Buttermilk Pancakes which were light and fluffy and didn't leave me feeling overly full, the portion was just right. For dinner I had the Lime and Chilli Salmon, which was just devine. At the time I may have mentioned it was the best salmon I have ever eaten, in fact one of the best dishes I have ever eaten...big call right? I would recommend to locals and tourists alike, this is a great place. read more

I was first introduced to Bill's Restaurant years ago by a friend who was looking for good places to eat breakfast in London. The breakfast impressed me at the time, so when I went back to visit London recently, this was a no-brainer, plus it was close to where we were staying! Less thinking, more eating! The interior of each Bill's is customised to suit the area and Holborn's branch is very heavy on the industrial side of things. There's still the same Bill's use of canisters to store napkins and cutlery, and the large windows facing the front provided good lighting. Inside it was a little dim, this no doubt provides good ambience for evening meals. I ordered the vegetarian breakfast, as the combination really appealed to me. I really love avocado, poached eggs, mushrooms and houmous. All of these on one plate? Yes please! This was an absolutely gorgeous dish, the only downside was that one of the poached eggs was cooked a bit too long, half of it was not runny. The combination served on each slice of toast was good, and the sweet chilli added a nice kick to it all. The toast itself was done well, not too charred. My sister ordered the eggs benedict. The eggs were both poached perfectly on top of good quality ham and perfectly toasted muffins. The hollandaise sauce was also good with a delicate light flavour, not too rich or lemony. We asked our waiter for the bill and he must have been busy doing something else as he clearly forgot about us, despite the fact we were sat right next to the till. He didn't even apologise for our long wait. This was the only major downer to our visit. I would happily come back to Bill's for a breakfast if I didn't want to think too hard on it. read more

As a frequent bruncher, it is hard to please me so much as to inspire a 5-star rating on Yelp. However, between Bill's prices and quality of food, my brunch at this restaurant inspired just that, and I recommend everyone to venture here themselves and discover this gem. I was visiting London on holiday and wanted to grab a late breakfast (think 11) and Bill's was serving Saturday breakfast until 1. My friend and I went and were immediately seated at a lovely rustic-style wood table, where I ordered a HUGE pot of english breakfast for less than £2. For brunch, I had the eggs florentine and split the bread basket with my friend. The bread wasn't anything exciting- we each got a small croissant, pan au chocolat and slice of toast for £3 total- but the eggs florentine were incredible, and looking back, we probably didn't even need the bread basket. I ended up spending no more than £12 some odd pounds on this meal, which is extremely cheap for breakfast in London. I left full and satisfied, and I would certainly venture back here if I ever find myself back in Holborn. read more

One morning I had lost the will to live and decided to indulge in the mediocre food and abysmal service that is Bills. I am not sure who Bill is or what he did, but I am quite sure he was very average at it. If Bill was a football player, he would have been scouted by Arsenal very quickly. He's probably a David Cameron supporter, and one of those that wears socks with his sandles while riding his two wheel adult sized kid scooter to work. A regular pansy. Anyways, on this particular day I had asked for Bill's breakfast - a combination of eggs, sausages, bacon, mushrooms, and toast. Only, I didn't want any sausages or bacon, and asked for beans instead. I made that distinctly clear to the waiter who assured me that he understood what I meant. As you may have guessed, he didn't understand my request at all. I was in the company of women, and yet there was a sausage fest on my plate. I asked the waiter politely if he could take the sausages away, instead of giving me a new plate to which he said - sure. He came back and there were still sausages on my plate. Mr Waiter Sir, you had one job to do. Literally the easiest job in the world. Spot the sausage on the plate, remove it. This could be a primary school children game, and they would probably ace it. This man failed. When I noticed that he failed, I asked him again to remove the sausage. He realized he had made a mistake, went back, and removed all but one sausage. How do you mess up such an easy task twice I wonder? Does this man not know what a sausage is? We're living through Brexit here, someone please give his poor lad a crash course on what a sausage looks like! Anyways, he goes back, third time lucky as they say. Removes the sausages and then insists on providing me a new plate (which was nice but too late). I was still charged for the plate and the terrible service. Seriously, bad place. read more

YUM! We kinda fell in love and ate there three times on our most recent trip to London. They are very accommodating to food allergies and vegetarians. My husband got a full English and I got the vegetarian version. I would have never thought of guacamole on toast but damn it was good. We also went for dinner. My husband loved the octopus appetizer and I was in love with the sandwich I had (on gluten free bread of course). Pretty much everything we had was great. I am now regretting not buying their cookbook. If you are anywhere near a Bill's I highly recommend checking them out. read more

We're American (sorry) and went here because we wanted a quiet dinner for our last night in London and it was very close to our hotel. This feels like an American tourist trap. If the name doesn't give it away (Bill! I should have known) this was soon made evident by the automatic 12.5% tip on the bill and the constant cliche American music being played. (Truthfully I don't mind the music). The food was meh and the service was the same. I asked for just plain water (several tables around us had a carafe of water) and the waitress brought me a $4 USD "still" water which came after our meal was done. The manager on duty paid more attention to us than our waitress. Just..nah. Maybe better for breakfast. read more

This is the best and cutest restaurant on Kingsway! I have been for lunch a few times and loved it, though I've heard their brunch is even better. The interior is quaint and has a rustic and almost coastal sort of vibe. The staff is friendly and relatively quick for a sit down restaurant. You also shouldn't have trouble getting a table if you go for lunch during the week. I love their asparagus and leek Mac and Cheese, fish stick sandwich, and their salads are so healthy! They seem to use good quality ingredients but I only wish that their menu had a wider range of selections since it mainly includes a basic array of burgers and sandwiches. Don't let it fool you though, the food is great. Overall, it's a perfect place to get a satisfying meal in Holborn without spending too much. read more

I've been to Bill's in Angel a couple of times, and I know they do a great fish finger sandwich, so as I was in need of lunch and found myself down Kingsway, I knew that Bill's should hit the spot! The wait staff were friendly, and my order was taken promptly and my food came quickly - almost too quickly, actually! The table next to me of 2 women ordered at the same time as me, and their food took 20 minutes longer. So I enjoyed my fish finger sandwich (but I think the fish wasn't fried fresh, which is why it was quick) even though it didn't blow my mind. And then began the wait. I couldn't catch an eye of a waiter - nor did I have any idea who was 'my' waiter as they all seem to work the whole room. My plate had been cleared quickly, and I had declined the dessert menu. I'm sitting there, no food, no drink, my handbag on the table, my wallet out, cash in my hand - and no bill, for literally 15 minutes. I was right by the bar and finally the bartender got someone to get my bill. Annoyingly it came with a service charge, which by this point was undeserved but as is normally the case, I paid it anyway as it wasn't worth the embarrassment and hassle to get a couple of pounds taken off. Food-wise, Bill's remains a solid 4 star. Hopefully next time the service can match it! read more

This might be my favorite Bill's location. It is a little more intimate than the other locations. Plus, it's right by Holborn and LSE- can't beat that for a person like myself! I've been to this location for both afternoon tea and dinner. Afternoon tea is very reasonable and good for being under a tenner. Dinner has a set menu plus daily specials. The wine list is expansive for a chain restaurant, so there will be a ton of choices! Plus, offers several American craft beers! Have visited Bills near Soho ,Hammersmith, Convent garden and London Bridge but this quieter and more intimate place in Holborn is easily the best. Close to Holborn station you are always likely to get a seat there as it is less packed than the other places. Food is really nice with good supply of wine and also perfect for a quick bite of bread and tea. Really liked the chips they serve in cup holders. Service is friendly and seating comfortable. Worth a visit to the Holborn branch. read more

Stumbling into this spot as my friend and I tried to get brunch Sunday morning, we were seated pretty quickly by smiling waitresses. I ordered a large apple juice and the avocado on toast with streaky bacon. My friend got something like a mint peach tea and pancakes. Honestly what great fast service for their food! We sat and ordered and our food was on our table in less than 10 minutes! Staff were not very accommodating for 12 of us celebrating a colleague going on maternity leave. You would be better off spending more money at the Ritz. So disappointing. While the food is a tad expensive it's beautiful to look at and yummy to eat. Ive never had anything at Bills I didn't enjoy. The atmosphere is fun too. I swear you could take this restaurant pop it in another city like Portland and it would be a hit. It has a very youthful and fun vibe to it. Be warned though dont go when youre short on time it takes them a little while usually and its almost always crowded unless you go early. read more
