    Pancakes

Visited for Friday brunch as per the recommendation of a friend who is local to the area. The restaurant is cozy and does not take reservations. I was by myself, so I was able to get a seat at the small window front bar which can fit 4 people. There are two tables outside and the rest is indoor seating. The place was busy and lively. There were so many things on the menu I wanted to try so I opted for a half size of the pancakes and a half size of the french toast so I could try both. I enjoyed both dishes, but would say the pancake one was my favorite of the two. For half size portions, they were both pretty large and filling. I got a box for my leftovers. I also had an iced latte. Everything was delicious. If i lived in the neighborhood, I would definitely go back. Apparently they have long lines for brunch on the weekends. They offer takeaway food Monday - Friday.

Truly the best breakfast spot in all of London! We've been many times before and I can't recommend it enough. The food is all incredibly delicious, but our constant is the pancakes. They are light and fluffy and something about the honeycomb butter and berry compote is just unlike any other pancakes. No matter what, you have to get at least half an order. It should be a rule! Highly recommend a visit!

Great great great. 2nd visit here and will definitely come back again to try the full menu.

Yup. They hype is real. The staff are hit and miss but the food is really and truly great. It's an oasis in a good brunch desert (hence the queue). Not for every week bc sometime I just want to be fed right then and there but definitely worth the wait for a special treat. My faves so far the pancakes and the smoked haddock rarebit. Will slowly make my way through the menu!

Service is great and so is the food. Got the Buttermilk Fried Baby Chicken and Waffle. Chicken was very flavorful. Waffle was served with a slaw on top with corn. Flavors went well together. Will definitively be back!

Damn this place knows how to do breakfast! While on vacation we made sure to bookmark this spot for a Sunday breakfast - no puns intended. They open at 9 on weekends and a line starts to form quick, so if you want to skip the waiting - come early. After about 30 mins in line we got a spot inside and were soon rewarded. The pancake stack with honey comb butter was melt in your mouth delicious. Do yourself a favor and order the corn fritters on the side, they were da bomb. The avocado with them was incredibly fresh. The girls inside were friendly and did a great job taking care of us! Next time we're in North London we will be here.

Okay so in update, I have to upgrade Sunday to 5 stars. I've been back twice more, and gone through much more of the menu. Every time, Sunday has been exceptional. The service is friendly, the ambiance comfortable, and the food IS SO GOOD. Well worth even the longest wait. Sunday is the best brunch in London.

We were lucky and came right before the rush! If you don't want to wait in line get there early! My friends got the Eggs Benedict and they absolutely loved it. I got the Honeycomb pancakes with bacon and everything literally melts in your mouth. Amazing! I have never been so satisfied with a breakfast meal until I came here. The service, vibes, and food was absolutely up to par. Will be back!

This place is so quaint and lovely. I immediately liked Sunday because it's sort of tucked away and you don't really expect to find a great brunch spot here. We came in the afternoon and I had toast with avocado. Another reason for liking this place- they manage to take toast and avocado and add a little magic and love, because that was the best tasting toast and avocado I've ever had. It was drizzled with olive oil, some arugula, lemon and chili flakes. Simple ingredients, yummy in my tummy. My friend got salad with smoked salmon, and that smoked salmon was absolutely delicious! I will definitely come back again.

This a busy cramped place that lets you wait outside in the rain... The wait for food is loooong, we were waiting 40 mins for two dishes... So why on Earth does it deserve the full five stars, well as you may have guessed this little place is a gem and at the risk of making the rainy queues longer I'd heartily recommend it. Its a small beautiful intimate hipster central cafe with great food, minty water (in old wine bottles) and a great atmosphere. This particular visit was tinged with seeing my friend off before emigration but what a way to go, we had a very nice blackbean, pork belly and chorizo stew with a topping of corn bread and a poached egg. A really beautiful meal of the level of the former Assiette Anglais on the nearby Liverpool Road. This place is not only as good in terms of food but much cheaper. This is certainly a great replacement even if they have to get a little faster and I have to wait in the rain.

Wow... So best brunch in London? I can't say I've tried them all, but you'd be struggling to find anything much better. If you're lucky enough to have the time, then stop by here on a weekday to avoid 30-60 minute weekend queues. The food here is outstanding. The first time I came it was for lunch because I was staying nearby and wanting something a bit healthier than a chippy or kebab shop. I waited 10 minutes or so and was seated by on the bar by the window. It's a tight space. But I was easily able to enjoy my scrambled eggs on toasted sourdough... I mean, this really sounds underwhelming, but it's some of the best scrambled eggs and toast I've had in ages! I decided to go for the kiln smoked salmon on the side, but considering I live in Scotland this wasn't out of the ordinary for brunch for me and wasn't quite worth the extra 3.50... But if you're not from somewhere it's readily available, then it was a tasty addition. On my second visit, the wife and I waited about 30 minutes and then were able to get a table outside. I got the courgette fritters... Wow! These were amazing. They were topped with Parmesan, on top of avocado and halloumi with a stunning poached egg in the middle on a base of yogurt. This is seriously one of the best brunches I've ever had. While we were sitting at our table you could hear multiple customers talking about their brunch plates and the items they ordered... This is a rare occasion at any restaurant... At least in a positive sense like this.

This small hipster joint has been on my brunch list for a while. First impressions: slightly rustic vibe, damn that queue and I want to get my hands on everything on that menu. My brunch partner and I went the sweet route and got the pancakes, brioche French toast and toasted banana bread. I love that they also do half portions of both their pancakes and French toast which means you can try both these dishes without bursting the seams of your trousers. The banana bread was YUM, especially the delicious cinnamon butter it was served with. French toast, on the other hand, didn't quite blow my mind. The caramel sauce tended to dominate too much. Decent effort regardless. Service was alright, although smiles were in short supply. Be prepared for a long queue after 10am on the weekend and for cramped seating space (which just means constant food envy!) but for me, I am already planning a second visit.

Look guys, I am freshly back in the Big Smoke. So you gotta be gentle with me. I still gotta get re-used to the fact that there are places where one's gotta queue for an hour to grab some eggs benedict. That being said, Sunday cafe might have been a hella appropriate re-introduction into the city life for me. It blew my mind in all the typically London-esque ways. Mindblown element 1: "Heeey, let's grab some brunch on a THREE P.M. on a Sunday (does that even count as brunch anymore?!) and STILL wait for 45 minutes to get a seat in this cafe (which btw seems to be located in bumfrick nowhere as far as Angel goes - how does everyone know its secret?! Oh I gettit - that's why we have Yelp!). ** Cries bitter tears ** Mindblown element 2, 45 mins later: "Omnonomnomnom these are the best eggs ever what is happening in my mouth, I totally get it - this is why London is London." Honestly, I can't believe I'm saying it, but great effing food worth the wait. My eggs had the nicest pistachio relish ever which just went fabulously with the avocado and the very well flavoured salad. All the rich flavours and the egg yolks mixing and soaking into my fluffy bread = epicness of epic proportions. The service is really nice - we were quite intrigued with a couple of items on the menu and the gentleman serving us very helpfully walked us through everything. Water for the table is complimentary (which is useful, because for my taste, and that's the only bummer here, the drinks are a wee on a small side. I could use a proper big mug of chai / coffee with such a heavy brunch). The atmosphere is really chill and perfect for a Sunday - even with a full capacity, the place somehow manages to give off a relaxed and relatively intimate vibe. Unfortunately we tried it on a rainy day, but someday I'd like to sit in the little courtyard area behind - it looked cozy. So yes, do definitely come here for a big treat brunch, but get your small talk ready for some serious lazy wait - I sincerely hope that I made somebody's next Saturday's line another 5% longer with this review by convincing y'all to try this place.

Their servings are HUGE, and are so affordable too! I left wishing my mother and I had the ability to save our leftovers for later, because we hated wasting any of the delicious food that we ordered. Even before we got our food we were pretty excited. When you walk in you're greeted here with a beautiful sight: fresh sandwiches, bread, and pastries, all on display right at their main counter. Once we were seated I noticed little flower pots line the window, too. Fresh food and flowers - what more can you ask from a cafe for a first impression? We also loved the owner and his wife: they were very kind and they constantly kept us up to date on our food order, just to mention what was done and what they still needed to do or cook. They clearly work hard to provide fresh fast meals - and we learned quickly as people came in and out of the place that takeaway is available here. But we wanted to enjoy a sit down meal, and enjoy we did! I started mine with fresh squeezed juice - we're talking so fresh you'll want to add sugar to it if you're used to the juice that comes in stores. And when our English breakfasts came out? Just, wonderful. My mother and I each received SO much food. Both meals came with amazing buttered bread (like, I would have happily eaten an entire plate of bread and only bread), hash browns so fresh that they may as well have given us the original potatoes (yum), and what I can really only describe as a mountain of beans, eggs, and meat (well, on mine anyway - not so much on my mother's vegetarian breakfast order). All of it absolutely delicious, and every single bite made me smile wider and wider. Definitely walk on in if you're near this little shop. Don't be afraid to order one meal and share it if there's only two of you, either - you'll likely both leave well fed, and you can always order a little more food if you want too from that great looking counter of theirs...
