    The Hotcakes *weeps*
    Maryam G.

A friend and I were visiting London for a quick trip, and in our search for the best brunch spot in town, we found Granger & Co. It absolutely lived up to the hype. On a Thursday morning, we found the place quite packed, but opted to sit outside where we were waited on very well despite the rush indoors. Our drinks--fresh OJ and a chai latte--arrived quickly followed by our main dishes. We got the corn fritters, which were packed with flavor and fresh ingredients, the whole corn kernels bursting in our mouths. But the real show stopper was the hotcakes. Thick, pillowy, and not too sweet, the hotcakes are absolutely divine. I am still thinking about those hotcakes 2 months after our trip and mourn that I can't return any time I want. For all those locals who can, please go and savor Granger & Co for me, your out-of-towner Yelp friend.

Excellent breakfast! Scrambled eggs were super creamy and fluffy, Bloody Mary was excellent with a kick, grilled halloumi was tasty and sourdough toast was perfectly done.

Absolutely delightful food prepared to perfection. Aesthetically appealing and brilliant blend of flavors. The servers and staff are the friendliest and most spot on crew to be found anywhere in London. It's been quite some time since we have enjoyed this high level of substance and service!

Being a certified foodie from LA, I'm not the easiest person to please when it comes to brunch. Next to Australians, we're kind of ahead of the game when it comes to the food best served between breakfast and lunch; only, we love eating it at all hours of the day. Every day. This, of course, includes the booze and coffee. It also includes the dreaded queue winding up the road, away from the door. Yes, everyone who eats here has to wait; unless they're incredibly dedicated, and are here when they open. Even then, waiting might occur. The wait times could be anywhere from 15 to 45 minutes, depending on the size of your party. But, let me just say: Do it! Wait in that queue as long as it takes to feast on all this delicious goodness! As you'll be able to see from the menu displayed outside, tempting you with the promise of what is to come, the food here ranges from the tried-and-true, to the exotic. My friend raved about the Ricotta Hotcakes being among the best she'd ever tasted, and brought me here just for that reason; and honestly... I'm glad she did. More on that later. For most people- myself included- it wouldn't be brunch without booze; namely, cocktails. The drinks menu here is plentiful, and while I'd like to say that I was tempted by one of their fresh and healthy juices, I didn't even realize they offered them until I saw my friend drinking one next to me. Sweets lovers, remember these words: Fig and vanilla old fashioned. Yes, it is on the stronger side, but it is one of the most well-balanced cocktails I've ever had for breakfast. Now, on to those hotcakes. I really don't know what magical ingredient they're putting in there to make these bad boys so decadent and fluffy, but if you were eating a sweet cloud, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the two. My friend and I shared one portion, but to be honest, I could have polished off two plates, by myself. It's the most popular thing on the menu for a reason. The rest of the meal was also amazing, and I can vouch for the hearty burger and crispy fries, which remind me of In-N-Out fries from California, as well as the Dhaal which is a fragrant and flavorful lentil soup rich in spices and other healthy ingredients. And because I like to give as detailed report about a place as possible, I even tried their coffee. Yes, that was the bomb-dignity, too. Seriously, you can't go wrong with this menu. Amazing as everything was, though, I will never forget those hotcakes. They really are what foodie dreams are made of.

Love love this place! My bestie and I were staying in Notting Hill and we decided to come here for brunch. I thought we would have to wait for a table because this place is popular but luckily, we were seated right away. I ordered the fresh aussie, which has jasmine tea hot smoked salmon, poached eggs, greens, furikake, avocado, and cherry tomatoes. All of the ingredients meshed perfectly well together. I also got some freshly squeezed OJ to go with this meal. I honestly wish my breakfast could be like this every morning lol. Anyway, I highly recommend the fresh aussie if you don't know what to order. Can't wait to be back!

Not surprised to see a Granger & Co in Notting Hill. Bet if this place was open when Julia Roberts & Hugh Grant were filming the Notting Hill movie, their bougie asses would be here because it's trendy and tasty. If you're visiting London, I wouldn't say this is a place you must eat at, but I would suggest this if you are here more than a week, staying nearby and have time, or are local. There seems to be a queue almost every time I come here, so be prepared to wait especially on weekends. Their menu changes by season, but most of the dishes stay the same and they switch up the protein. When I came here a few months ago, here were some notable dishes: +Kimchi & Soft Shelled Crab Fried Rice with Poached Egg: The crab was perfect, but small and the kimchi did not have that acidic kick. It is pretty filling though! +Ricotta hotcakes, banana and honeycomb butter: This was surprisingly really fluffy, and maybe some of the best pancakes I have ever had. As simple as it sounds, these hotcakes were packed with flavor and the texture was airy. +Grilled cheese and kimchi open sandwich: This was pretty, but the kimchi was a side chick in this and it felt like the microgreens on top of it were just for presentation. Overall, this is a great place for a weekend brunch or a leisure filled lunch. I would not go here if you were in a rush and again I would not go out of your way to go here. The ambiance is nice, but really loud at the same time.

I was taking a stroll to Hyde Park on a beautiful fall afternoon in London when I came upon Granger & Co, a very inviting dining space in Notting Hill. We only had to wait about 10 minutes for a table on a weekday afternoon lunch hour. The space is trendy, bright, airy and comfortable. Our server was a very endearing Australian young man who took great care of us in all regards. We all toasted our last day of vacay in London with expertly crafted espresso martinis. There is a very eclectic menu with many different choices; in the end, though, we chose from the "Bill's Classics" section. I got the Sweetcorn Fritters, Roast Tomato, Spinach & Bacon with an avocado upgrade. Everything was fresh and wonderfully delicious, and I simply have never encountered a fritter quite this unique in it's taste. We also had the scrambled eggs and sourdough toast. Sounds simple enough, right? But these eggs were fantastic, they're like whipped, they have a wonderful mouth texture, and the toast was very fresh and hearty. Lastly, we enjoyed the Ricotta Hotcakes, Banana and honeycomb butter. Another unique combination, and a rich, decadent variation on hotcakes that I'd never had before. All in all, a wonderful dining experience, even to include the immaculate restroom facilities. Granger & Co is "highly recommended" for the value, quality and quantity of it's cuisine.

Ok, this was the best brunch i had in my life. We waited on the queue for 30 minutes, absolutely worth every minute. You can check my photos, the scrambled eggs where just perfect and omg the pancakes!!! With banana, caramel, spongy. We decided to have the fungus spaghetti too. I guess everything you eat here is perfect. The service was fast and the place is really nice. I am counting the days when this pandemic is over and I'll be back having brunch here! can't wait. No puedo esperar.

We came by for a casual breakfast on a Tuesday morning, and the place was still packed! Clearly a local favorite. We lucked in to some seats after only a few minutes. There was so much diversity on the menu, and I had a hard time choosing - but ultimately I ordered the "Aussie" breakfast: poached egg, smoked salmon, avocado, tomatoes, herbs, and toast. It was a beautiful plate of food - especially the perfectly poached egg and the smoked salmon. I loved the variety of flavors, textures, and temperatures. My husband ordered the Ricotta Hotcakes with honey butter + banana, which I snuck a few bites of and really enjoyed. They were legitimately loaded with Ricotta, and the honey butter was a delight.

Honestly, after The Ledbury got its third star, I was a little worried it might get too "precious"…read moreor stiff. I've been to enough 3-star spots in London where the food looks like a science experiment but tastes like nothing. Thankfully, Brett Graham is still keeping it real. The plating is genuinely stunning--the kind of art where you actually want to stop and take a photo--but the best part is that it's actually delicious. It's food you genuinely enjoy eating, not just something you admire for the technique. The pigeon courses were the absolute standout for me. They serve it in stages, which I loved. You get this perfectly glazed breast that is so tender it's basically like butter, followed by a little "snack" of the leg that has this incredible deep, smoky flavor. It's rare to find a place that treats game with that much respect without overcomplicating it. If you're on the fence, definitely go for the wine pairing. The Sommelier was a total legend--super approachable, no snobbery, and clearly obsessed with what's in the cellar. The pairings were exceptional and honestly made the meal for me. They aren't just pouring the standard labels; they're finding really interesting stuff that makes the earthy notes in the pigeon pop. Price-wise, it's a 3-star Michelin in Notting Hill, so it's going to be a hit to the wallet. It's on par with the other big names in the city, but it felt worth every penny for a special night out. The service is polished, but they don't make you feel like you're sitting in a library--you can actually have a laugh and enjoy yourself. Easily one of the best dining experiences I've had in London. Period. Elite Tip: If they have the signature mushroom tartlet on the menu when you go, don't even think about it--just eat it.

First,…read morethere are only 14 seats (not to be redundant or anything; it's just that small), which means it books out weeks in advance for a weeknight table and months ahead for a weekend spot. Next, the eponymous place is headed by Marianne Lumb, a MasterChef finalist in 2009, and her merry band of restaurant ninjas: a sous, a dishwasher, and a front-of-house consisting of two whole people, who are always a delight. That's it. Other things you should know: - The space was obviously someone's front parlor until recently, which makes it amazingly cozy. - Prices are beyond reasonable (3 courses at £48, with cheese it's £60) and menus change weekly and seasonally. - The wine list is substantial. - There is a waiting list for neighborhood locals. They use it to fill out late cancellations. I've gotten the nod twice in about four months. - The truffle brie is divine. Ask for some honey and oatcakes to accompany it. All things considered, it's one of the best new restaurants in London. If I had written this after the first time I went in December, I would've said it was the best new opening of the year. However, having been twice since then, the dishes have waned a bit, but this could be attributed to the lack of variety this time of year. Hopefully it picks up again in the coming weeks. Last, I waited a few months to post this review, because I haven't wanted any additional competition. But since we're upping sticks and heading down south before long, I'll just say: have at it, kids! It's a great local spot, and Marianne and her team deserve all the support they can get.

The exterior doesn't prepare you for what you find inside - not that much could. What you find is an intimate space, decorated in dark reds with baroque panels, rather like the sort of small 18th century opera house you might find in Prague or Salzburg. There are even little balcony "boxes" with tables accessed by vertiginous stairs (NB not good for long legged or tall people). The food is a mixture of French and modern European. There are vegetarian starters and mains, but the menu is heavy on throroughly meaty dishes, such as char-grill Lamb Steak, with crushed new potatoes, julienne vegetables and green peppercorn sauce, or chicken breast stuffed with minted minced lamb, herbal mash and Port wine sauce. I had the grilled Portobello mushroom, prepared with garlic and served with spinach and a roast pepper sauce; followed by roast aubergine strudel, stuffed with grilled asparagus and ricotta cheese, served with French beans and a tomato and basil sauce. Service was very pleasant throughout and I like the fact that they don't charge for a basket of bread. The prices vary depending on whether you book before or after 7pm; you'll save a pound on the starter and a couple of pounds on the main course if you go before. We had a very decent French vin de pays as the house wine. Pleasanter still was the bill - £55 (including service) for three people each having two courses, after 7pm.
