I want to preface this by saying I am an American writing this review so my opinion is definitely biased and based on the food options I am used to having in the United States. So my partner and I just came from Buckingham Palace and were looking for some Brunch/Lunch options and stumbled upon this restaurant. It was nicely decorated and full. We took a seat at the bar since we did not have any recommendations. I just need to say - I am clearly not a fan of British breakfast. I feel like there is not much diversity in it, and the traditional breakfast includes items I do not like to particularly eat. Because of this, the options on this menu were pretty slim for me. It was mainly between two things Pancakes and Dirty Daisy. My partner and I got both and were able to try each other. The pancakes are definitely different from the US.. thinner, not as fluffy but still very delicious. The pancakes came with strawberry syrup as well as had blueberries baked in them with strawberries and blueberries on top with cream. The Dirty Daisy was packed with a lot of flavors. I don't like sausages so I didn't eat those and made sure the egg was scrambled. We also asked for a side of crispy bacon as I realized the bacon is also different in the UK. Overall we had a great experience with what we ate. Our drinks were delicious and the food was good. We waited a normal amount of time for our food is that it was busy. I would say that the waiters did not really check on us and we were looking for them constantly when we needed something. Overall, it filled us up for the flight we were taking in the next 3 hours. We came here for brunch on a weekday. I ordered the banana bread, my husband got the pancakes, and we shared a side of bacon. The bacon was good, the banana bread was OK, but the pancakes... I'm not sure what happened. They didn't taste anything like American pancakes, which we were expecting. They were crispy on the outside, but not cooked all the way through. They had a huge blob of thick mascarpone on the top with some berries. My husband ate a couple of bites, but then stopped and only ate the berries. When we first sat down I came in the door with about two sips of my "to go" coffee from down the street. The waiter said that they didn't allow outside drinks, which I understand, but I said that I was ordering a Cappuccino. He told me that he'd throw it away, but I said it was almost empty, and he said I'd have to take it out. I went outside, finished it, and couldn't find a trash can, so I brought the cup back in and told him that there weren't any trash cans outside, and then asked for my cappuccino. I thought it was odd not to be allowed to take the last sip, even though I was ordering coffee anyway. We'll go elsewhere for the rest of the week. read more

As a seasoned visitor to London and the variety of eating establishments available around the city and surrounding areas, I am accustomed now to the service - or lack thereof - that seems to be du jour and I am NOT here for it! In summary? Our party reserved for brunch weeks ago, so when we arrived, they should have already known we were coming and how to set up the table. But did that occur? Were they ready to receive us? A resounding NO. We were seated fine enough, but then we were quickly forgotten about time and time again. We ordered tea, but no sugar was on our table No cream was set or delivered to our table until we had to repeatedly ask. When I order coffee or tea, the expectation is that cream and sugar be set on the table as well, whether I USE THEM or not. The ONLY thing we had on our table when we were seated were salt and table. Red flag. The other issue? We seemed to have a few servers/waiters that were tending to our table - up to 3 possibly - yet we STILL managed to get adequate service for the entire duration of our stay. I know when I order food, I like to have a set of cutlery to go with my food. Is that too much to ask? Or more succinctly: WHY should I have to ask for something that should already be there? Two people at the table ordered drinks that they did not like, so asked the staff to take them back and then asked for them to suggest other drinks on the menu. If your staff tells you to disregard half of the drinks on the menu, that is a CLEAR sign that a NEW drink menu should be instituted. Also, when they ordered the new drinks, there was a billing issue - the server took off the bill the new drinks ordered, but left the other ones on the bill - probably because they cost more. If it seems shady/deceitful and like bad business, that's because it is/was. Furthermore? Our party was moved to another table, where we were set to order brunch as that was the intention when we made the reservation in the first place. However? We were instructed that no one could order brunch unless EVERYONE ordered brunch. Or to be even more specific, the server tried to force us all to order a brunch even though some people did not want that option. This establishment, if I understand correctly, is a chain, and this was not at issue when we went to the other location, so someone there needs to explain to me - like I am a 5-year-old - how a table can have approximately/allegedly 3 people tending to it, yet cannot be responsible for ensuring that said party is not 'cheating' the system by drinking one another's alcohol that comes with certain brunch orders? Because that was the implication for NOT allowing about half of the party to order the brunch. The money this restaurant lost by inefficiency and - dare I say - laziness will not be overlooked. The upside? The food was very good, well-presented, and tasty. Everyone at the table had great reviews of their food, so if you desire great food, then this is the place for you. But the service? Absolutely horrid. When it came time to pay, it took nearly half an hour in total for us to pay out and this is why. There were hidden fees on the bill that had to be addressed, donations to charities that were not donations. To the owners of this place, let's be clear: it's not a donation if you don't ASK your patrons about said donation. If you have to explain the donation, where it's going, and why it's on a bill without explanation, you already KNOW what that is - a scam. For this, we brought over the manager and had it removed. And last but certainly not least that will NOT be overlooked? Our waitress, who was with us the entire time and looked scared out of her wits because we probably made her WORK more than she ever has on ANY shift there... - took all of our orders - cleared our tables - delivered our food and condiments - presented us with the bill with her notepad and pen in the CROTCH of her yoga pants, which she pulled out and placed back in said crotchal zone for hours while tending to us. That is a huge red flag and if I had realized it sooner, I would have said something. It was not until we were paying the second time that I realized what she was doing with her uniform - or lack thereof. #Tacky. Tawdry. If THAT is not disgusting in and of itself, then I really don't know what is. And if I have to EXPLAIN why that is disgusting and unhygienic, then you really should not be in business. When it comes to tipping, as an American, I tip very well, so I don't need to be educated on the tenets of that. However, what I REFUSE to tip on is subpar service where the restaurant preys on the ignorance of SOME patrons and assumes they can get away with it unscathed. Perfect avocado toast fix!! I've been struggling to find decent avocados ever since moving to London so I've been starved for a good one and Timmy Green delivered. The charcoal bread is scrumptious, I wish bakeries would get on the charcoal train too, and with one piece plain there was more than I knew what to do with. We also ordered the coconut French toast which was flaky and delicious but I think it needs a name other than French toast because it was thicker and drier than French toast normally is, it felt like a much different variation. Beautiful artful plating throughout and a great location at the newish Nova food hall near Victoria train station, this is a filling brunch spot. I give Timmy Green 3 stars, mainly for the service. I did not appreciate not being greeted right away by a server when we sat down. I became irritated all the more, when the host sat someone down next to my family, where after seating him, he was greeted and served right away. In all actuality, I believe that deserves a two star review in and of itself, but I'm going to be nice. I'm going to be nice because the breakfast tasted awesome. My recommendation is that the servers show more respect! I should not have to get up and complain to the host that no waiter has come to my table, while someone who came after me, has already been served. It would also be different if the person serving the other table, was a different waiter. Yet, this was not the case, where it should have been obvious to the waiter that we were there first. Was walking by and was easily attracted to the large glass windows and colorful decor. We got seated right away for a quick brunch and had fresh orange juice and got chocolate. The orange juice was super fresh without too much additive of sugar and the hot chocolate had light chocolate. We ordered a Fancy Bacon Roll and Benny Boy for brunch and finished the plates. The fancy bacon had an Asian influence to it because of the fried onion bits and hollandaise was almost like a curry texture with roti instead of bread. The eggs are super orangey too which was tasty, too. That dish was much lighter than my Benny Boy which was an eggs Benedict with ingredients that included onions, prosciutto, mustard, and sourdough. Food/Drink: we were curious about what "Australian" cuisine was but it's essentially new American cuisine with similar foods. We got the burger from the lunch menu and it was mediocre. The only special thing about it was how the buns are dyed black but it doesn't affect the taste of the burger. My friend got the unicorn waffles and she said it was delicious but beware - it can become too sweet for someone who doesn't have a sweet tooth since there's no savory element to it. Overall, it's more on the "healthy" side and this is the only place in London I've seen that has avocados on the menu. Price: this is definitely on the more expensive side for the kind of food you're getting. Atmosphere: we went there on a sunny day when it wasn't raining so we chose to sit outside. It was a bit different than an Italian style (this place is advertises Australian cuisine. Nice thin breast with ham, sauce and mozzarella cheese melted. For me the Chicken was not as tender as it could have been. Good portion size. I didn't have to eat again till later in the evening. Also had just a cup of coffee. A tall gentleman in black greeted us and took it as a personal insult that we hadn't made a reservation for Sunday brunch at 1330, even though half the restaurant was empty. I just had to travel across an ocean to find it! For about $30-40, you get a personal appetizer, entree, and unlimited prosecco mimosas. I'm not talking that flat carafe of orange juice concentrate and Andre that's been sitting out for hours. I'm talking personal bottles of champagne and fresh squeezed orange juice right on your table. The brunch of your dreams! I had the banana bread appetizer which was not only delicious, but also beautifully plated. For my main, I had the full English breakfast, but with a spin. They were willing to scramble my eggs which I appreciated. One can only eat so many over-easy/fried eggs before throwing in the towel. Instead of standard white toast, the breakfast came with charcoal bread that went great with the ultra fresh sausage. If you're a meat lover, this is the breakfast for you. Came here for breakfast one morning with some coworkers. Service was fairly quick but not very attentive- the place filled up quickly after we came in, and seemed understaffed. I went with the fancy bacon roll, because, well, bacon. And it delivered. A perfectly poached egg and ample bacon paired with crispy onion straws. But the highlight was a Hollandaise sauce loaded with flavor. It delivered the perfect amount of heat without being overwhelming. My friends and I ate here for dinner Friday night and I was quite pleased. For starters, there was a musician playing great music covers with his guitar which really set the atmosphere nicely. Also, the bartender was friendly whilst we waited for our friends to arrive. The gin cocktail was delicious and the cider on tap was lovely. For food, I can highly recommend the bhel puri, the halloumi fries and the fire roasted asparagus. Good-sized portions for tapas plates and bold, delicious flavours in each and especially with the creamy pomegranate yogurt with the fries. Brilliant Breakfast! I love places that balance the flavour so well that you don't need to add any additional salt or pepper. The ambiance is very relaxing and earthy. There is a lot of natural light that comes through the huge glass windows. You can sit at the patio on a nice day, at the bar, cafe tables or corner couch area. The orange juice is fresh squeezed and delicious severed with an orange slices. They use paper straws and resuable containers. Avocado toast was yummy but too much lime for my taste (and that's without using any additional lime juice with the wedge on the plate). Would have been a great experience if it weren't for the servers and management flirting with each other the entire hour I was there.
