Super kind owner, but not the best doughnuts I've had, maybe caught them on an off day, cases were low on inventory, close to the 12:00 hour.

I was driving through the shopping center to get to Best Dim Sum and I noticed the sign for Bill's Donut. I made a mental note to myself to check this place out after brunch. And I did. It sure didn't disappoint. They have beautiful, tasty doughnuts served up by a lady with a big smile and personality to match. No frills, simple small business. Great components of a classic Americana doughnut shop. Well I dropped on in after lunch, it was just about 12:30 pm. Closing time. Right when we stepped in, we were greeted by the sweet gal behind the counter AND a bunch of regular customers sitting at the only table. That down home welcome was a nice surprise. We weren't shooed away or rushed out the door. But when we looked in the display counter... there were no doughnuts. We were bummed. I thought they sold out. But the woman must have noticed our sad faces and quickly assured us they have doughnuts left. She just boxed them up. So she proceeded to tell us what she had left. We ordered two old fashions and a cake. $1.50 each. She threw in a couple more (an old fashion and a glaze) on the house since it was closing time. That was gracious of her and the business. She bagged the doughnuts carefully as to not smush them. Ya'll know how glaze doughnuts are all so delicate. But when I got home and took the doughnuts out of the bag, the glazes were still perfectly intact. No smushing. That's some expert doughnut packing. They were delicious. The old fashion had the cakey like interior with the nice crispier edges. The glaze had a fluffy interior with the type of glaze consistency I prefer. That being dry but not so dry it's crackling off and not wet n sticky nor overly sweet.

They have always had good donuts, that's not debatable. This past weekend was my daughter's 4th birthday party. She asked for a donut themed birthday. I called the day before and asked for 2 dozen donuts. The woman I talked to was amazing. She was so excited for us, and she said she'd make sure we had lots of sprinkles, because the kids love sprinkles! When we went to pick them up on Saturday we had just driven to Cavitt Jr High to discover the annual egg hunt was cancelled. My daughter was so upset, she was completely inconsolable while we tried to explain we'd still get the donuts and her party wasn't cancelled. We went inside and the woman working the register was so kind to her that she completely forgot about the egg hunt. She showed her all the donuts she packed for us, and even gave her a special heart shaped donut. She couldn't stop smiling the whole time we were there. Anyone with a toddler or small child knows how game changing this was, and it helped set the mood for the rest of the day. TLDR. Donuts are awesome. Service is awesome. 100/10

Happened to stop by bc we were at the post office. I had my 1 year old with me and decided to get something small like 1 or 2 donut holes. They only had bags of a dozen donut holes, which I said no to since I don't want my baby eating that much sugar. The man there insisted that I take the whole bag free of charge. I tried to pay, but he refused to take my money. He said he just wanted my kid to have some. So very kind and nice. Just completely unexpected. Oh, and my kid loved them.

    Various donuts all so yummy

The weather was a little chilly so we sat inside at a little table by the window with a nice pond view. The menu has so many choices! Different avocado toasts, savory and sweet breakfast too. Plus a lot of lunch/dinner options. I just went with the basic eggs and bacon and my friend got the classic eggs Benedict. We both subbed potatoes for fruit and it was a great bowl with berries and pineapple. My poached eggs were perfect as was my bacon, and the sourdough toast was yummy. My friend enjoyed her Benedict as well. Service was friendly and not rushed. It's a great spot at Quarry Ponds with lots of parking. Definitely recommended!

This is the only good thing about this place. 1. The service was terrible from the time we sat down until we left. 2. The only person who enjoyed their food was my boyfriend he order the county skillet, however, he asked the waitress to bring ketchup and hot sauce before and after she brought his meal well she never brought it another waiter did. 3. My daughter, son-in-law and myself order the French toast, which was supposed to be made out of sourdough when they brought it out literally they toasted the sourdough and sprinkle powered sugar over it, we sent it back both me and my daughter ordered pancake instead they brought her two and me one. Then the waitress finally brought out the 2nd pancake and boxed it up. My son-in-law had his meal taken off the check. My son-in-law ask to speak to the manager, it took the manager 15mins to come over to see what my son-in-law wanted to discuss very bad service we will not be patronizing this place again.

During that time, they served me a glass of water and I quickly ordered the BBQ Chicken sandwich - I had looked at the menu earlier - with a side of fruit. The sandwich was really great! They served the sandwich with the grilled, chicken breast, bacon, and BBQ sauce with the lettuce, tomatoes, and onions on the side. I'm not a fan of onions, so I did not have those, but it was nice to have the lettuce and the tomatoes have that nice taste when it hasn't been smothered in BBQ sauce or others as it's being cooked by the chicken like other places prepare them. I honestly left satisfied. This place really did live up to the recommendations and reputation it has. Our gym, Positive Impact Fitness always talks about this place and it was really worth it. I shall return in due time.

Ordered an ice tea that took about 15 minutes or more to make. Feeling frustrated so I checked out the baked goods while I waited. I noticed fruit flies in the class case with the food. I did tell the 3 girls working behind the counter very discreetly about it. As I watched the employees because again I waited for what seemed like an eternity for a black iced tea that was supposed to be infused with rose petals. The most basic tasting tea I've ever had. I ordered a large. It was a very small cup but whatever. Disappointed to say the least. 2 of the 3 employees working just seemed to do nothing but walk in circles while the 3rd seemed to be doing the most. I will say that it seems like a spot to work on one's laptop and several people were just enjoying themselves having conversations. The place is very pretty. So maybe I was just in a mood but to wait for so long for a basic drink was disappointing. And the drink itself was nothing special. It was only 4.50. I tipped 3. In hindsight I would not have tipped at all. Man, I sound like such a miserable Karen but doing so here makes me feel better.

I ordered a mocha and the sweet cheese crepes. My mocha was the perfect balance of sweetness and chocolatey! I savored every sip. The real star of the show though, were the crepes. They were perfectly soft but with a slight crisp on the outside just like I like them. The filling was sweet but not overly and was well balanced with the slight bitterness from the berry topping on the crepes. Overall the ambiance, food, and accessibility make this a great spot for brunch! Will definitely be coming back.

There is also a side area to eat, however there were a number of flies buzzing around, which made it unappetizing (this was kept my review from being a full five stars). The indoor area is a mix of dark woods and faux plants, which creates a relaxed atmosphere. As for the food, there was only one plant-based (vegan friendly) option for me: the cilantro lime avocado toast. This came topped with micro greens and pickled onions, and with a side of potatoes. The portions were very generous for the price and the food was delicious. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time and the staff were kind. I also ordered an Americano that was good. This spot is like a little hidden green jewel in Citrus Heights. I hope more businesses fill out this complex so they can continue to do well.
