Truly one of my favorite donut shops in the entire Sacramento area! I'm from Colfax & work in the Folsom area and I make a point at least once or twice a month to stop in here! The donuts are always fresh! The service is always friendly and fast. And you can't beat the prices. (I usually grab a dozen for the week haha!) Favorite little hole in the wall donut spot! Stopped by while out here for work. I would rate it 5 Stars for the shop ambiance and customer service. Unfortunately, the 6 donuts I tried were stale, dry and thin. I could have accepted that since I eat day old donuts anyhow but, there was an off taste to most of them. The standard glazed was sour and weird flavor of old perfume or soap on the rest of them. They were also very misshapen which I've noticed seems normal for the chocolate bars, but all of them, including the round ones were very thin. it was $12.50 I wish I hadn't spent, but I may still try one another time if I come back out, to see if it was just a very bad day. read more

Has always been good ever since I was a kid. Long time customer here. Donuts are good! I love the donut holes a lot. I will say if you don't get there right away you won't get the best selection and risk getting slightly stale donuts but other than that it's great. read more

Apple Fritter Glaze: adequate, three stars Outside: not crispy, three stars Inside: a tad on the dry side and not really fluffy, three stars Filling: pretty standard amount of apple, flavor is fine, three stars Blueberry & Raspberry Fritters Glaze: same as others, three stars Outside: same as others, three stars Inside: same as others, three stars Filling: Blueberry has visible bits of what I presume is dried berries, raspberry has no visible fruit, and there's not much of it, three stars WELP, three stars across the board. This place is super cute and the lady was super nice and maybe their other donuts are great but for me the fritters just didn't hit, but then I do expect some specific things to differentiate a fritter from a standard donut. I was driving through the shopping center to get to Best Dim Sum and I noticed the sign for Bill's Donut. I made a mental note to myself to check this place out after brunch. And I did. It sure didn't disappoint. They have beautiful, tasty doughnuts served up by a lady with a big smile and personality to match. No frills, simple small business. Great components of a classic Americana doughnut shop. Well I dropped on in after lunch, it was just about 12:30 pm. Closing time. Right when we stepped in, we were greeted by the sweet gal behind the counter AND a bunch of regular customers sitting at the only table. That down home welcome was a nice surprise. We weren't shooed away or rushed out the door. But when we looked in the display counter... there were no doughnuts. We were bummed. I thought they sold out. But the woman must have noticed our sad faces and quickly assured us they have doughnuts left. She just boxed them up. So she proceeded to tell us what she had left. We ordered two old fashions and a cake. $1.50 each. She threw in a couple more (an old fashion and a glaze) on the house since it was closing time. That was gracious of her and the business. She bagged the doughnuts carefully as to not smush them. Ya'll know how glaze doughnuts are all so delicate. But when I got home and took the doughnuts out of the bag, the glazes were still perfectly intact. No smushing. That's some expert doughnut packing. They were delicious. The old fashion had the cakey like interior with the nice crispier edges. The glaze had a fluffy interior with the type of glaze consistency I prefer. That being dry but not so dry it's crackling off and not wet n sticky nor overly sweet. read more

They have always had good donuts, that's not debatable. This past weekend was my daughter's 4th birthday party. She asked for a donut themed birthday. I called the day before and asked for 2 dozen donuts. The woman I talked to was amazing. She was so excited for us, and she said she'd make sure we had lots of sprinkles, because the kids love sprinkles! When we went to pick them up on Saturday we had just driven to Cavitt Jr High to discover the annual egg hunt was cancelled. My daughter was so upset, she was completely inconsolable while we tried to explain we'd still get the donuts and her party wasn't cancelled. We went inside and the woman working the register was so kind to her that she completely forgot about the egg hunt. She showed her all the donuts she packed for us, and even gave her a special heart shaped donut. She couldn't stop smiling the whole time we were there. Anyone with a toddler or small child knows how game changing this was, and it helped set the mood for the rest of the day. TLDR. Donuts are awesome. Service is awesome. 100/10 read more

Happened to stop by bc we were at the post office. I had my 1 year old with me and decided to get something small like 1 or 2 donut holes. They only had bags of a dozen donut holes, which I said no to since I don't want my baby eating that much sugar. The man there insisted that I take the whole bag free of charge. I don't understand this place when you go in, they have plates and plates of chocolate bars and chocolate cakes, glazed and sugar, but never anything else. Every time we stop they are always out of apple fritters, old fashions, French curls, nuts, and coconuts, maple bars, all the good stuff. I've decided just to start bypassing this place and heading to Baker Bens as they always have a huge selection no matter what time you go in. read more

Picked up a dozen donuts to celebrate a birthday at our office today and it was the first time we all have had Bill's Donuts. The donuts were amazing! Super soft and fluffy and not greasy tasting like other donuts.. the frosting was a bit thin, but then it was also nice to have a little bit of every flavor. Been coming to Bill's for 20 years and have absolutely loved it every time. They have such a great family feel to them and you can tell just how good a donut shop is by the amount of faces you see there multiple times. Without a doubt my favorite donut shop and the best donuts around. There are weekends where I'll go out of my way and drive passed a dozen other donut shops just to head to Bill's. I called in a pick up order for 2 dozen mixed donuts for the nurses caring for me during my hospital stay and french cruellers on the side for me. Service was great! The lady that helped us was incredibly sweet. But the 3 stars are for the quality of the donuts. The french cruellers were not custardy or soft and doughy in the middle like they should be. They were kinda hard. And from the sounds of it, from the lady that took my order, this shop doesn't always carry french cruellers which for me is a downer. What I do like about this shop is their selection is traditional. No cereal on their donuts! Because if I wanted cereal, I wouldn't get it on a doughnut. I'd get a bowl, a spoon, and some milk! Overall, great service, decent traditional selection, but I need fluffier doughnuts! read more

I was so excited to get donuts this morning. The employees were wearing masks, though there were no signs posted requesting customers wear masks. I was about to walk in when I saw a customer without a mask, so I decided to wait until he was finished. I then looked through the window and saw four other men sitting down without masks.
