Lovely people and lovely food! Every dish is carefully prepared and packaged. I particularly like their gyros. Most places shave the meat but it can get dry. I didn't expect to love this place when we decided to try it but if I could eat it every day, I would. Their quesadilla is what I fell in love with and I've raved about it to everyone, even if it's off topic I somehow find a way to weave it into the conversation because the world must know how great this place is. The employees are friendly and even if they get backed up they make sure they get every order correct. What I've noticed with restaurants recently is the consistency in the quality of the food but the food here tastes amazing each and every time. This is the type of place that you can very easily miss just driving by along Backlick. However I was happy with what I found here! This is a fast-casual counter-serve place with seating. Very friendly staff as many reviewers have also noticed. Decor is fun and modern. Big Red Halal is in the same category as "Halal Guys" in NYC (there's also one here in Springfield) but I think this place does it better. There are similar bowl and wrap dishes here, with your choice of toppings, as well as varying hot sauce intensity levels. I will respectably say that this isn't my favorite category of Middle Eastern food. It works very well in the busy bustling streets of NYC served from a cart, but down here if I'm going to drive to a fast-casual suburban restaurant like this, my preference is to pay a couple extra bucks for food that's superior in both authenticity & quantity at one of the many kabob places in NoVa. I have been looking for a place like this. Inexpensive, flavorful, and clean middle eastern food. Great for lunch or a quick bite. Limited menu, but good at what they offer. 4 stars because it wasn't perfect but definitely a solid 4 star limited menu lunch spot. We ordered the Masala Fries, Falafel sandwich, and Chicken over rice platter which came with bread. The Masala fries are seasoned well with a cumin, paprika, and salt flavor. They are good and would order again. The Falafel sandwich was exactly how I would have wanted. Fresh sauces, thoroughly seasoned but not over seasoned falafel balls, and the pita was so good. They let you pick your toppings at their toppings bar. The Chicken over Rice Platter was great. It came with three toppings from the bar, beans/spinach/or chickpeas, and bread. The bread was old and chewy. Although the bread looked good, it would probably be better if it were fresh. We had the red beans. They are good but not the star for me. The chicken over rice was on the mark. Seasoned perfectly! I added lettuce, feta, kalamata olives, and all three spice levels of sauces (red, white, and green). This meal is one I'd have weekly. In fact, I'm planning to have it this week! Highly recommend this place! Reasonably priced. We paid $22 for all that. Thanks to the owners for keeping it reasonable in the midst of all this inflation. Bravo! read more

I really like the chicken platter with red and white sauce. It's a little sweet and a little spicy. My favorite side is the sautéed spinach because it pairs really nice with the other flavors and it's a bit salty. Goes great with tomato, cucumber and fetta cheese. It's delicious every time. Only complaint is that it only comes in one size which is normally more than I can eat. read more

VERY LARGE portions for a very reasonable price. All the food is freshly made and very delicious. They have three kinds of sauces, the regular white sauce. But also they have a spicy green sauce and a sweet and spicy red sauce. Loved the green sauce - so unique. Each platter comes with a side and we tasted all three of the available sides - would recommend any or all of them. Best part of the experience was the people and the customer service. I heard about this place on tiktok (of all places...) and was not disappointed! Think halal guys style, but tastier. The place was clean, the staff was very kind and welcoming to us upon walking in. I played it safe and ordered a chicken bowl with chick peas, it comes with rice and a piece of bread. I asked the staff member if he could add lettuce and tomato to my bowl, as well as extra sauce, which he did for no extra charge. A lot of places I've been to charge extra for those, so I appreciated that it was free. The chicken bowl is $9.99, so for about ten bucks you have a generous meal. The portion was huge, I couldn't finish it!! I would definitely recommend this place for anyone wanting to try a halal chicken-rice-white sauce-gyro style bowl in the NOVA area. Really good chicken gyro. Very friendly and helpful staff. I could tell they had regulars, which is always a good sign. I thought pricing was good compared to the size of the gyro and considering the issues restaurants are facing right now. I stalk them and come to all their locations all the time and it's a bit embarrassing but it's honestly THAT good! I recently tried their combo which has chicken and lamb (or gyro) and it was heavenly! The lamb doesn't have a smell to it and is seasoned really well. If you see my past reviews, you'd know that I usually never EVER leave a good review (and that I only leave bad reviews when the experience is just that terrible). But this place blew me away with the customer service, like WOW! I placed an order through yelp, which had some stuff that they apparently no longer cell (so it wasn't updated). When I got there, the employee looked so distraught because on his end, I was overcharged $2.50. Before I could say anything, he offered to call Grubhub customer service for us or just give us the cash from his own register -- we ended up subbing for something else on his menu, but that honestly blew me away -- the fact that he was so invested in making sure we didn't get overcharged. I love this restaurant and the customer service makes it even more better. Now for the food: holy garbanzo beans is the chicken GOOOOD. The chickpeas and potatoes are so thick, homey, and they taste phenomenal. Nothing is greasy (cough couch, halal guys - their food wreaks of ghee/grease), and it's all SO flavorful. My one critique is that I wish they gave more bigger slices of bread - it's so yummy. But besides that, it's VERY much worth the price. The portions are HUGE and they don't skimp out on meat.
