Food was really good, nice variety of beer. Our waitress was really nice and let us sample a few different types before we made our choice. Only downside is the location is small with limited seating. read more

By far the best chicken wings I've ever tasted! The barbecue is in a word: AWESOME. It small but the food is truly excellent, and delicious, the service is great, and the local craft beers delightful. A hidden gem in Cary! read more

Food is good, but its overpriced. $15.00/lb. for bbq? City BBQ is $12.99/lb., Danny's is $11.99/lb.,-both of those still pricey, but may be the best bbq of them all is the least expensive; Old Time BBQ at $8.99/lb. read more

I can not say enough good things about my dinner. Shredded BBQ was amazing. Potato salad is like something I can't even describe. So delicious! If you're looking for an amazing dinner do not hesitate to stop here!!!!! read more

The wings are so addictive! We recently discovered this place and are so glad we did!! Everything we have tasted is delicious and the beer selection is great as well. read more

I moved to Cary about 6 months ago and I have eaten at this place probably 20 different times mostly with my fiancé... and I am never let down the pulled pork is great and the smoked wing might give the pork a run for its money. If you do eat here definitely try the sweet tangy sauce.. it's GREAT read more

Love this place! The first barbecue place I've been in North Carolina. Actually the first restaurant I've been to in North Carolina. The atmosphere is nice and homey. The assortment of beers from the area are enormous so if you're a beer connoisseur you'll like this place a lot. The price of the meals are fair for the amount you get however I'd suggest the pork instead of the pulled chicken since I noticed that the chicken is a bit smaller in portions than the pork unless you opt for the whole chicken then it is worth the money. I love the sides. The corn bread was the right consistency and perfect balance of sweet and savory. The Mac and cheese was an amazing side and really reflects southern hospitality. The green collards were amazing and savory. The potato salad however was odd to me since I was thinking the mayonnaise based type but it was more of cheese and potatoes which I didn't mine but it through me off guard. The hospitality and service were 10/10 amazing. Definitely will come here again when I'm down there. read more

Awesome place. Definitely try the Burnt Ends and the Bacon Banana Pudding. Plus they have 9 craft beers on tap. We are all excited to have such a great little place so close to our neighborhood. read more

In a word... Amazeballs. Seriously. Eat here. Be happy. Ps, the wings are a must. read more

Best beef brisket I've ever had. Granted, I'm from Chicago and we aren't known for our BBQ, but still I was very happy with my food. I'm a big fan of their Sweet N' Tangy sauce, but the brisket honestly is so good that it doesn't need any sauce. Waitress was very nice, the whole vibe is very informal. It's kind of like going to a friends house for BBQ, if that friend made the best BBQ in a 50 mile radius. read more

This place is the fucking bomb so give them all your money. Order bbq by they pound and the banana pudding is better than my grandma's but don't tell her I said so ;) read more

Great BBQ! Brisket and Mac & Cheese were delicious. Casual atmosphere and friendly service. I would like to see a kids menu in the future.

Great service! Great selection of BEER! Food is pretty good. Liked the egg roll special. I had the spicy chicken one (spicy means spicy)and the bbq one. Greens in the bbq roll was a good southern flair. The regular menu items my cohorts ordered looked better than my stuff. read more

Stopped in here yesterday with my girlfriend after passing it so many times and I'm glad we did! I tried a breakfast stout to go along with my BBQ taco, I cherished every sip and savored every bite. They had quality brews on tap and what looks like a impressive amount of bottles stocked along the walls. It is easy to tell that the owners have love and passion for what they have to offer which is why this place gets 5 stars. read more

Stopped in this place looking for an alternative to the Cary BBQ scene. Got a take out order. Was disappointed that the staff allowed BURNDT egg rolls to go out the door. BURNDT ends...hell yeah. BURNDT egg rolls. Bad news. The brisket was top notch. The Blue cheese slaw was good but really nothing special. Collards were average. This place is also EXPENSIVE by bbq standards. Honestly I won't repeat. Too many other options. read more

The smoked chicken is amazing, as well as the brisket. Pretty much the best in the area as far as I am concerned. The pork is decent, but nothing that stands out above the others in the area. Great selections of sides (make sure to try the potato salad!) and certainly a crazy good selection of brews to go along with it. The seating is limited, so make sure to get there at a good time if you plan to eat in. read more

Tried Mikes last night for dinner. Quaint little place, nice atmosphere, not a lot of seating space but plenty of beer to choose from. I had a combo plate of pork and brisket along with beans and the smoked potato salad. The meats were tender, flavorful and delicious. No complaints. The beans where pretty good. Maybe a little "dry" but good flavor and overall texture. I was disappointed with the smoked potato salad however. Way toooo much salt that totally killed the taste. Could barely eat more than a couple of bites. Hopefully this was a fluke and not the normal recipe. I would definitely go back to eat. Give it a try if you haven't been before. read more

Tiny little place. Go early if you want to eat in. Good suds selection on tap, as you'd expect. The brisket is the star and this ain't NC anymore. A little lean for my preferences, but great smokyness and seasoning. The bark was simply fantastic. The sauces are good. Some interesting sides to boot, like pickled jalapenos. read more

Great BBQ and nice selection of local brews. Service is great! My Thursday night go to. Try the potato salad, kale slaw BBQ sandwich

This place has the best bbq, brisket and burger in town! i haven't had anything i didn't like.

Loved this place! There's a hostess who will tell you where you can sit. The place is pretty small. Seats under 10 at the bar and maybe another 15 in the rest of the place if you squish. It's sticky like any good hole in the wall with craft beer lining the shelves for purchase. I liked that they offered local, bottled sodas on their menu in addition to fountain drinks. We had the smoked wings (smoked, fried, then covered in a flavorful dry rub), pork egg rolls with chow chow, brisket (lean) and burnt brisket (fatty) tips, Cole slaw, and smoked potato salad (comes in a magic cheese sauce). Everything was delicious. The service was excellent. And dessert: a chocolate stout brownie and a magnificent banana pudding served in a plastic to-go container. Might be our new favorite BBQ place. read more

Our second visit. The food is good, especially the pork barbeque. BUT the place is so small there is no where to sit. If you sit at the counter...BEWARE...people there to drink beer will hang all over your seat and spend endless time tasting and choosing beer selections. The wait staff is inefficient. They are running around but not in any effective way. You have to wait for menus, wait to order, wait for drinks, wait for sides after the meal is served. They spend more time arguing with each other than taking care of customers. The facility just isn't set up to work for more than a handful of people. Only go if you're not hungry and have a lot of time to wait!!! read more

Best I've had in a long time! Smoked potato salad was awesome. BBQ was smoked to perfection and the brisket was to die for. Love this place.

Really good food and the beer selection is great. A little on the pricey side for barbecue, but beside this factor I really have no complaints. The bottle shop is sweet too if you don't want to eat. read more

Ribs were on special... should have known better. About as dry as beef jerky. Mac and cheese was like eating mush. Unfortunate with such great reviews and being an out of town we looking for some great BBQ. Go for something other than ribs would be my recommendation. read more

I went to Big Mike's this evening and noticed they were very full so politely I asked did they have space for three people I was told if they did that it would be on the other side of the restaurant the whole time there was a large table for 4 with nothing but 1 take out bag on it, assuming that the table was unavailable we decided to place a to go order. Five minutes later a family of four walk in and ask for a table they immediately move the bag I referenced before for the family and sat them at the table. I then asked how exactly that table was available for them but not available at the time we asked for it the staff acted dumbfounded and said it was a miscommunication and offered no comp on the meal or any sort of real apology just a real drop of the ball in the customer service category I intend to speak with management about this incident to have further clarification as to why this incident was not resolved in a better way. I felt discriminated against and really disrespected down right sad the girl literally looked at me as soon as they sat the family because she knew she was wrong! read more

I like their food but I do not like their business. I asked for a military discount and was rudely told no then told that I had to pay to get in extra sauce. The food's good but there's a lot of other barbecue places that will give you sauce with a military discount and not be rude to you if they don't offer those things. read more

The BBQ here is awesome. Pork or brisket, you can't go wrong and the wings are deliciously smoked. When it comes to sides the potatoes and mac n cheese are amazing, the coleslaw is great and I love that the cornbread comes with collard juice to dip. ONLY complaint would be I wish they had fried okra!! The draft beer selection is usually pretty good the bottle and can selection to purchase is even better. Hope to see them in a bigger location soon! read more

Been here several times in the past... not sure what happened to the portions though...Pork sandwich used to feed 2 people...now it is not much bigger than a slider. Disappointing trip. read more

Stopped by here while the wife was getting her hair done. Smoke wings are to die for. Great options on the menus.

I went there for lunch today. Pork barbeque was perfect--slow cooked smoky flavor North Carolina style. Choice of two sauces--one just vinegar I think, the other a bit hotter but both are Eastern NC sauces and are very good. For a side I chose the smoked potato salad. A typical NC bbq place would have a regular southern style potato salad--which would be good enough. This potato salad tasted different than anything else I have ever had. If I didn't like barbeque so much, I could see myself coming here just for the potato salad. Served also with a cornbread muffin--moist and with a touch of sweetness. I suppose some people would prefer a traditional cornbread muffin, but I thought it was just right. Sigh, I can't drink alcohol anymore so I can't speak to the 'brew' part. But I am going back for the barbeque. read more

Legit. This place is the best BBQ in town hands down. The banana pudding has become one of my favorites as well. Chicken BBQ is also wonderful! We have used their catering before as well, which was excellent. Would definitely recommend them to anyone and will be back! read more

Hidden gem in Cary. Loved the bbq and beer selection. It's a small space so may want to consider take out if it's lunch time. Friendly staff. Can be hard to see the spot because it's in a nondescript building. read more

Best BBQ ever. You'll also love the blue cheese cole slaw (even if you don't like blue cheese), brisket, mac and cheese, beans, stuffed potato salad, banana pudding.... I could go on. read more

I've tried both the brisket, and the burnt ends sandwich and have been impressed by both. Beef is harder to smoke than pork and chicken, and I know from experience. I BBQ quite a bit, and I can differentiate between grades of meat. Not only is Big Mike a stellar dude who showed me around his food truck and chatted about BBQ methods with me, but his food is absolutely delicious. I really can't wait for his place to open up in Cary, we will be there every single weekend, no exceptions! Mike is the man! read more

I have had the pleasure of trying everything on the menu and there is no way to be disappointed! My husband and myself have enjoyed not only the food but the service. We even had them cater our wedding which was a complete success. Everyone loved the food!!! Michael is such a great guy and amazing to work with! If you have never eaten here before then you should because you are missing out. I do not eat BBQ anywhere else. read more

Very good service and food! The bbq selections around Cary are pretty low (I had a terrible time at a certain other bbq place in Cary before), so I'm so happy I found this place. The portions were huge and I especially liked the smoked potato salad and baked beans. Looking forward to exploring the rest of the menu in the future. The waitress who took my order even helped me select a few beers to try from the massive selections they have there against the wall. read more

We drove around Raleigh trying to find something different and ended up here. Delicious BBQ and great atmosphere. Very quaint. I enjoyed listening to the conversations at the bar. :) We will be back again! read more

This place has some of the best brisket and potato salad I have ever had. We first discovered this place visiting their food truck at a few Cary events, and found their actual store location. Don't bother with City BBQ, this is the place you should really be going to. read more

Great bbq . Stopped in today for big cheesy and a pulled pork sandwich. Big cheesy is huge...enough for two....but a great sandwich. I got it with brisket. The pulled pork was nice and smokey and moist. However, I got a pint of smoked potato salad and it absolutely rocked the house! So glad I found a bbq place that will get my repeat business!! read more
