I was trying to find places in the area that did dim sum and ended up seeing this place that did both dim sum AND kbbq, which I was intrigued by. You mostly order everything via tablet, and everything gets sent over pretty fast. (Shout-out to the kind and very efficient servers!) They had a great assortment of different cuts, meats, and seasonings for the kbbq and all the classic dim sum dishes. The one dish I would personally pass on is the xiao long bao (soup dumplings), only because I think the filling needed a little salt/seasoning. And the ones I would absolutely order again are the seafood pancake, curry chicken, and BBQ short rib... Actually, I would reorder just about everything we had plus some more that we missed out on! Great restaurant with great food & staff! Me and my friends came for dinner and had a great time. The inside is large & spacious, and the servers were so nice and attentive throughout our entire meal. You use an iPad to order and they have a lot of great meat and side options to choose from. This was my first time doing KBBQ so I don't know all the names but, the beef and pork cuts were all delicious. The BBQ ones were my favorites. The crab rangoons and sesame balls were also delicious! A fun experience that would make an awesome date night, in my view. My daughter and I dined at Five Spice BBQ on a Saturday evening. We were seated right away, and the customer service set the tone from the start. Our server was warm, attentive, and especially great at explaining how the dim sum works here. She did not just tell us; she actually demonstrated it, shared cooking tips, and made us feel completely comfortable jumping in. She checked on us often, and the rest of the staff was also wonderfully attentive without being overbearing. The food came out quickly. One of the best parts of the meal was being able to order steak, chicken, shrimp, and lots of vegetables, then cook everything just the way we liked it. It made the meal feel interactive, fun, and special. For my daughter and me, it was not just dinner -- it was an experience we got to create together. A heads-up for first-timers: there is a two-hour table limit since it is all-you-can-eat, and they do charge a fee for excessive waste. Came in during my late lunch hour to try it out as an Offline offer. Staff was super friendly and attentive. They do have a bento box menu but you have to request it. This place is pretty great. It's $35/per adult for dinner prices. 12 years old and up are considered adults. Unlimited food for two hours. I really love the vibe with all the plants when you walk in, nothing like live plants and plant propagation to give a restaurant a lot of positive energy. You place your order on an iPad and within 2-3 minutes they usually bring everything out. My favorite is the beef fingers and head on garlic shrimp. Lamb, pork belly, cow tongue, brisket...all of it is good. The only thing I tried that I didn't like is the calamari but it's more of a texture and flavor thing. The staff isn't super knowledgeable about gluten-free options but basically anything that's not "BBQ" or marinaded is safe. Their three dipping sauces including their miso (which tastes like applesauce to me) is not gluten-free. I usually start with some crab rangoon and seaweed salad. The crab salad is made with imitation crab and has apples in it...it's different but not my favorite. Obviously you cook all of your own food with a hot plate in the. middle of the table. Foot room is very limited if you have mobility issues or like to move your feet around. You will be there for awhile, I usually spend 1h15m to 1h45m there. It takes awhile to cook all the food and the more people there the slower it will go. They will change out the tongs and hot plate anytime you ask, so if you're trying to do gluten free and someone cooks something that has allergens in it, they are happy to replace the items when you ask. Basically just order some meat and veggies and keep on ordering and cooking until you get the meat sweats lol. On your birthday you can eat for free but only with 5 other adults in your party paying full price. Cost for two people with two Thai tea's ($5 ea) plus tip is about $100. "AYCE Korean BBQ and more in Cary!" Nestled in a large shopping center is this gem. The entrance is a bit unusually placed on the side of the building, but fortunately, that's where the most parking is available, so that worked out well. We came here at 6pm on a Saturday evening, and the place was hopping but we were still able to get a table for 3 right away. For those unfamiliar (I was unfamiliar!), you sit at a table with a hot draining pan in the middle, you order whatever you want, and you cook it right there on the spot. Note-- not every item needs cooking-- there are appetizers like spring rolls, coconut shrimp, etc., as well as desserts that you can order and just eat right away. Ordering was a little unusual-- there are QR codes at the table for ordering, but the staff seemed to prefer us to use the iPads that were also sitting at each table too, which is fine. We tried various beef/ lamb/ chicken/ salmon dishes as well as getting a few appetizers and desserts. Most of the meats are sliced pretty thin to allow more rapid cooking times. And they do give you butter-- be sure to use that especially for the salmon, or else it really sticks! And you get 3 dipping sauces-- a gingery miso one that was delicious, a BBQ one that was fine but really thin so it didn't stick, and a third one I don't remember that had a soy sauce base to it which was yummy. And you get scissors, tongs, and other utensils to help you cook. The "pancake" was eggy deliciousness-- definitely recommend it. The coconut shrimp was also really good. And we enjoyed the various meats we cooked on the BBQ. Honestly, the marble beef, lamb, and beef brisket all seemed really similar-- I think the marble beef was slightly better in being just a bit thicker. I'm not sure I'd get the salmon again, but it was fine. There weren't a lot of vegetable choices-- we got some broccoli, which came lightly cooked. And the desserts were good-- I especially liked the sesame balls, but be careful, since those can be SUPER hot in the middle, so cut in half, let it cool for a bit, and THEN pop it in your mouth. Service was good-- we had a pitcher of water at the table to drink yet they still checked on us, and they periodically offered to replace our pan (hence preventing too much sticking and/ or cross-contamination). And the restaurant (and restrooms) were clean. The price is OK-- $35 per person for dinner, plus tax and tip. Not a cheap dinner (especially when we cook a lot of it for ourselves-- ha ha), but not bad. As others have noted, you can get charged extra if you order food and don't eat it, and also there's a two-hour limit, but those are easy to work around. All-in-all, a good place for a fun, interactive dinner. read more

I would rate this place 7/10 as this place isn't too bad for all you can eat KBBQ for $35. The waiters were very attentive which was appreciated however when we ordered our apps, our edamame and kimchi came out after we finished eating so not really sure what happened. It was Thanksgiving, and my father and I were looking around for a place to go for dinner since we learned our usual spot for dinner was closed. We came upon a place called Five Spice BBQ. We saw the open sign lit up and decided to give it a try. When we walked in, the hostess greeted us and took us to our table. We noticed a hibachi grill at the table and I looked around the restaurant to see that you would be cooking your own food for dinner at the table. This was going to be a unique experience. Our server greeted us and explained the way it works to us for dinner. It is $34.99 per guest and you can basically choose anything you want off of the menu for dinner, appetizer or entree, and you have a two hour limit to cook your entree and consume all of your food within the two hour limit. After the two hours are up, whatever left over food you have left will be weighted and you will be charged $20/lb for the number of pounds of food you have left over from your meal to take home with you. For example, if you have 2 pounds of food left over from your meal, you will be charged an extra $40 on top of the $34.99 per guest fee you pay for the meal. My advice is to choose your items wisely and do not over order items to cook on the hibachi grill at the table if you do not think you will be able to consume it within the two hour limit. Otherwise, you will be paying a lot of money for a dinner for two people. The two hour limit starts when your first item arrives at your table. There is a timer at the table that is set by the server for the two hour limit. My father and I decided to order a few appetizers and a few entrees to cook on the grill. My Dad ordered sake to drink and I had a hazy IPA to drink which was very good. The hibachi grill cooks the food very quickly, so you will not have to wait a long time for the food to be ready to eat. The server did an excellent job checking on our food and told us when it was ready to eat. There was a bit of a language barrier with the server because she was hard to understand at times and had to ask her to repeat instructions several times, but she was professional and very helpful for us when ordering items to cook. My father and I ordered meatball soups and mussels for appetizers, which were excellent. I ordered a salad which was very fresh and tasted amazing. Our entrees we cooked on the grill consisted of beef flank steak and sirloin steak, along with pork. We also ordered coconut shrimp for an appetizer which was the best coconut shrimp I have ever had in quite a while. Our steaks were incredible and had a lot of flavor and finesse. The whole dining experience was something we would never forget for Thanksgiving. This was a Thanksgiving dinner we would remember for quite a while. The restaurant started to pack up and get busy while we were there. Five Spice BBQ was very successful for Thanksgiving. The price also includes ice cream which consists of a small size bowl with a wooden spoon that you use to scoop out the ice cream. My father picked chocolate and I picked orange sherbet. The ice cream was Ok, but not that great. I would not recommend the ice cream if you come here for dinner. All in all, Five Spice BBQ was an interesting dining experience for Thanksgiving. My father seemed to enjoy himself and I did enjoy it as well. We definitely did get enough to eat and we did it within the two hour limit. I took off one star because when I went to use the ladies room my fiancé told me about an odd experience she had. Coming from a heavily Asian Foodie state --It is mediocre, but a "good" if you're from the RDU area. It gives me a mixture of Gyu Kaku vibes because of the grills, but some of the quality and choices makes me feel like it's a Chinese buffet based off the jarred Kimchi, wings, etc. it was not giving me the full KBBQ taste with the lack of authentic side dishes you'd get from Seol Grille or more established KBBQ franchises. If they stepped up their side dishes it might be a little bit of a competition for Seol Grille, but I still would prefer to dine there based off of the quality of meats and sides. Our waitress was very nice, but had forgotten our drinks after we had been eating for some time. We can sense the lack of experience vibe because we were getting ready to ask for the check and she overheard us looking up dessert places before stating we get free ice cream based off our dinner menu option.
