    Beef Japchae
    Christine W.

I got their beef japchae, which was a little on the oily side but had a lot of good flavors. Their stuff is a little expensive for the portion size you get. I think it was more authentic, too, so it may be worth trying! Service was okay, it's a pick-up food court kind of deal, so no one waiting on you. The ambiance was fine. Located within the H Mart.

A good option in the H Mart food court. I had the bibimbap in the stone pot, the flavor was great, their sauce was perfect; my only complaint was there was not much beef and it wasn't particularly tasty. I also had the dumplings, it was a huge portion and the dumplings had a nice crispiness.

Located inside H-Mart with an open cafeteria. Flavoring was good and it was served with a side of rice and pickled kimchi radish. Contents inside the stew could have been more plentiful.

Have gotten quite a few things at Kang Nam Town and the Jjyungmain (guaranteed I spelled that wrong) is always a must order. We also like the seafood pancake and you can't go wrong with anything here. Tangsuyuk with pork is also awesome.

Thanks for the welcoming atmosphere lady.

This review is specifically for the service. I just moved to NC and i've been so excited to try the food here. I noticed some people using their bimbibap sauce so I decided to try some but as soon as I got the sauce to my table the main cashier ran over and grabbed the sauce out of my hand. In another world or another place that could be a fight. Im civilized, I get it. I couldn't even try it bc i didn't order food from here. Ok....So I go to the cashier and ask if i could buy something cheap to try the sauce. She literally says no, nothing is cheap and that the place i ordered from should have provided some sauce. She denied me service... Imagine being a considerable human being? Apparently they cannot. Never trying this place.

This is good, fast Korean on a budget. This location is inside H Mart and has food court seating. The fried dumplings were good but had a lot of glass n9idle inside. The bulgolgi was delicious and tender. Portions and price a fair. Good lunch spot.

This is a food court inside a grocery store (H-Mart). Google maps and yelp itself doesn't make that clear when it appears next to H-Mart on the map. Just keep that in mind if you're planning a first date. Not that I would mind personally especially if we can get some groceries afterwards but you know how some people can be. The only bad here is that they don't serve any drinks whatsoever which requires you to get into another line and get a bottle of something at another counter which is certainly not a deal breaker. Also other restaurants in the food court share the same seating so during busy hours it can be hard to find a seat. I have tried various combos at this location, all has been at or above expectations and the staff has been extremely friendly no matter how busy they are. Authentic Bibimbap is one of my favorite dishes and they produce that here effortlessly and quickly so of course that's my recomendation. Portions are more than adequate. This is exactly what a quick serve food court type Korean restaurant should be and I'm thankful there are options like this for us in the triangle.

Tofu jap chae! It only comes with a small side and NO rice.

If you are going to Hmart then add this spot to your list. Walk up countertop service, she was friendly and welcoming. Only complaint - wish they would give you a bit more on the kimchi. They give a very very small amount.

My family and I stopped here for lunch since we were already at H-Mart getting groceries for the weekend. You order at the booth in the food court and pay there before getting a number and waiting until your number gets called. Although the food court is relatively big in size, they call out the numbers on an intercom system which makes it very easy to hear your number being called even if you are sitting on the other end of the food court. I ordered the japchae (B13) for a total of $12-13, and while I had to wait for quite some time given the lunch rush, I was very satisfied with both the taste of the dish as well as the portion size. The plate of food was enormous, and they also provide you with pickled cucumbers and pickled daikon on the side along with a bowl of rice. Overall, would come back again if I am at H-Mart during mealtime!

we always get our meals from here! i love the bibimbap & seafood pancake, i almost always order the same thing when i'm here either with my family, boyfriend or friends! i typically share my rice with my sister who usually gets fried chicken & my family loves the champong but recently they seem to really dial down on how much seafood is in the dish as my boyfriend only found one mussel, one shrimp, handful of squid tentacles, and a bunch of onions along with the noodles. it was very flavorful but just not enough seafood to go with the delicious noodles! my family and i have been going to hmart for dinner since hmart opened & it's definitely cut back on some of the dishes as they arent as they used to be but still super yummy!

Excellent Korean food, served fast. Located inside HMart, part of their small food court. Their menu, like others, is simple and easy to order --- bc there are pictures and #s. They have the essential Korean dishes. The kalbi came with miso soup, and 2 banchans (pickled bamboo & daikon kimchi). There r soda machines that make it convenient to get drinks. We got the scallion pancake, kalbi, beef bibimbop, and beef bulgogi.

Even though this time we did not see the robot which is always cool we did have excellent service. Food is wonderful, we did the AYCE silver meals, the youngest did not eat enough for that to been worth the price but the gentleman made up for it. I came here when I was visiting my in laws, so naturally, I wanted to expose them to KBBQ. Unfortunately, I picked this place because a lot of reviews said its the best and allat, when in truth, this place is one of the worst KBBQ I have ever visited. Not only they stopped serving lettuce wrap (sure, they have it in the menu but they didn't stock it because their lettuce supplier increased the price or whatever), they did not offer any other wrap options like a decent kbbq should have (rice wrap, radish wrap, or shisho leave...etc). The meat quality? It's the cheapest cut you could ever get. The kalbi cut is so thin and tasted old (spoiler alert, they should be thicker and higher quality..), the other unseasoned meat cut is lower quality too. The seasoned meat were so bad I had hard time enjoying it. The bulgogi did not taste like a propee bulgogi and once again, tasted old like it has been in the fridge for too long. The spicy bulgogi was so grainy and not spicy at all, almost like they're using low quality gochugaru. Honestly, you will be much better off buying your own ingredients at h-mart or any asian grocery than going to this place. The only saving grace was the kind server who tends us often. 10/10 will not recommend.

The meat was very tender, and the sauce is so flavorful. The only reasons I put down four stars for service was the most recent time we visited, our servers were relatively inattentive. The atmosphere is nice, but the temperature in the restaurant is always just a little too cold. The pork bulgogi lunchbox is well worth the price! I love the way they season the bulgogi, although it is on the saltier side.

Grabbed lunch from here recently and enjoyed myself!…read more The staff were polite and helpful throughout the meal. My wife and I ended up splitting the kimchi pancake as an appetizer, and we both got the beef bibimbap for our entrees. We didn't end up getting any interesting beverages this time, but there were a few draft and bottled beers available as well as soju, sake, and other variations of alcohol :) Anyway, our kimchi pancake arrived pretty quickly, and it was very tasty! I liked how the green onion was integrated throughout, and the dipping sauce was very flavorful. It looked like it may be a bit spicy but in fact was sweet-ish :) Our bibimbaps arrived soon after, served in hot stone bowls. In addition, they provided six different small side dishes, all of which were very tasty! I really enjoyed the variety, as they ranged from pasta salad to kimchi. Honestly, the bibimbap was maybe my least favorite part of the meal, which surprised me. It wasn't bad at all, with plenty of tasty veggies included, but it didn't blow me away. Maybe I should have added more of the bottled sauce they provided :) Overall, we both really enjoyed our lunch at Okja and would definitely come back!

We also got the: - Seafood Pancake (crispy flour pancake with squid, shrimp, crab meat & scallions): Definitely my favorite dish- perfectly crispy and simultaneously fluffy, lots of well-cooked seafood. - Tang Soo Yook (battered deep fried pork, drizzled in sweet & sour sauce): I've never had this dish before, but I will admit I imagined it a bit different. It was more batter forward so the pork did get lost, but the batter itself was super chewy and almost tapioca-like, which was interesting. I liked the sauce, but I wish it came separately for dipping as the pork did lose its crunch. - Bi-Naeng (cold buckwheat noodles with pickled daikon, cucumber, pear, hard boiled egg, beef & spicy sauce): So refreshing! Loved the chew of the noodles and how complementary the spicy sauce was with the sweet pickled toppings. The beef was on the tough side with not a ton of flavor though. Ambiance is really nice and spacious, there are two sides: one with the bar and booths, another with wooden benches. Service was surprisingly fast. Lots of parking. 8/10 would recommend!

We were seated right away, and the customer service set the tone from the start. Our server was warm, attentive, and especially great at explaining how the dim sum works here. She did not just tell us; she actually demonstrated it, shared cooking tips, and made us feel completely comfortable jumping in. She checked on us often, and the rest of the staff was also wonderfully attentive without being overbearing. The food came out quickly. One of the best parts of the meal was being able to order steak, chicken, shrimp, and lots of vegetables, then cook everything just the way we liked it. It made the meal feel interactive, fun, and special. For my daughter and me, it was not just dinner -- it was an experience we got to create together. A heads-up for first-timers: there is a two-hour table limit since it is all-you-can-eat, and they do charge a fee for excessive waste. As long as you are reasonable and order what you can realistically eat, you should be totally fine. $39 per person. Thanks to Five Spice for a memorable mother-daughter experience.
