Honestly, I don't know why this place got such great reviews more than Gen KBBQ. They honestly do not deserve it. I came here when I was visiting my in laws, so naturally, I wanted to expose them to KBBQ. Unfortunately, I picked this place because a lot of reviews said its the best and allat, when in truth, this place is one of the worst KBBQ I have ever visited. Not only they stopped serving lettuce wrap (sure, they have it in the menu but they didn't stock it because their lettuce supplier increased the price or whatever), they did not offer any other wrap options like a decent kbbq should have (rice wrap, radish wrap, or shisho leave...etc). The meat quality? It's the cheapest cut you could ever get. The kalbi cut is so thin and tasted old (spoiler alert, they should be thicker and higher quality..), the other unseasoned meat cut is lower quality too. The seasoned meat were so bad I had hard time enjoying it. The bulgogi did not taste like a propee bulgogi and once again, tasted old like it has been in the fridge for too long. The spicy bulgogi was so grainy and not spicy at all, almost like they're using low quality gochugaru. Honestly, you will be much better off buying your own ingredients at h-mart or any asian grocery than going to this place. Had a 30-40 min wait on a Saturday night. Upon entering we were greeted and saw our name on the tablet for the waitlist. We were guided to our table by a robot which was pretty interesting (I don't think the robot serves any other purpose than showing you your table). They have three options for AYCE KBBQ and an a la carte menu. The service is good and the staff kept checking on us to see if we were doing alright (drink refills, additional orders, etc.) The portions are a bit on the small side but that allows you to sample lots of different meats and appetizers. Overall pretty good, meat quality is good and the appetizers are OK. The inside has your standard pop or k-pop playing and a few TV screens as well. read more

Five stars for service. I have no idea why everyone seems to think this place is so amazing. I highly doubt it's among the best in the Triangle, let alone the entire east coast, as one review enthused. The quality of the meat and the variety available are quite adequate but that's about it. There was nothing at all spicy about the "spicy" meats and all the seasoned/marinated meats were seasoned primarily with sugar and not much else. The portions of everything were minuscule. I understand the need to avoid waste but the servings of banchan amounted to one bite per person. We had to ask for kimchi 4 or 5 times to get anything close to a reasonable amount for two people. Servings of meat and vegetables were barely better. The worst offense was that they had no lettuce whatsoever in the kitchen. This was at lunchtime in a nearly empty restaurant. They didn't expect to have any by dinner time, either. How do you serve Korean bbq without lettuce wraps? It makes just about as much sense as a Mexican restaurant not having any tortillas and not planning on getting any. It's telling that almost none of the dishes used Korean names and the server felt the need to warn us that the ssamjang (more likely plain doenjang) was considered by some to be a little salty. I love that they offer different tier options: bronze, silver, and gold. Bronze actually has a lot of the meats I personally enjoy but I like silver because of the additional side options. The restaurant itself is spacious but this place fills up fast so make sure you join the waitlist and plan ahead. I've also tried several of their drinks and I've enjoyed them all. We sat at a huge table so had plenty of room but it was very difficult to talk from one end of the table to the other. Noise level was very high . There are many different kinds of meats to chose from along with some appetizers and salads. There is a drink menu too that two of our party tried. They have a children's menu but we were shocked at how expensive it was for a three year old who didn't eat much at all. We got several kinds of beef, chicken and shrimp. I didn't like the spicy beef but did enjoy the rest. Our waiter was fabulous, very attentive and friendly and very helpful. We enjoyed cooking our meats and the sauces that were offered. I didn't give high stars previously but I figured it out. I would not suggest AYCE if you're going there to enjoy your meal taking your time and expecting quality food and service. Venue: very big and innovative. The first 2 visit there to meet friends to eat AYCE experience was not great. However the last 2 visits there to eat entree was a whole new experience. Meat quality was better and I was even pretty impressed with the portion of the food. Been ordering beef brisket, pork belly and large intestine (aka chitlin) and I usually end up taking the left over. Banchan is mediocre- I'm not quite sure why NC Korean restaurants have hard time offering fermented kimchi. I have to say they have room to improve on banchan here. You get 1 free side per entree (kimchi or dwenjang (fermented soy bean) soup, geran Kim (egg soufflé) or corn cheese. Soup is pretty not bad. Not to die for but it's ok. It's not their specialty. As a long time supporter and advocate for Seol Grille...today was disappointing. I was alone but wanted to grab some KBBQ to celebrate a productive weekend. I arrived to a basically empty restaurant. I put my name down on the YELP waitlist. I was the only one in line. The guy handed me a menu and basically tried to force me to eat the "lunch" menu since I was a party of one. After explaining that I was here for KBBQ, he handed me the KBBQ menu. I told him what I wanted he pretended and took is sweet time to try to get me a table when there were so many open. When another couple showed up, he was all kind to them. One thing I dislike most Asian businesses is the fact that they will treat other races better than their own. Yes, that couple was white. Seol Grille is one of the few restaurants in the Triangle to specialize in Korean barbecue. My wife and I lived in Atlanta for a long time and currently live in the DMV, both of which possess established Korean food scenes with excellent K-BBQ options. We decided to check out this place while visiting the area to see how it compared to our favorites in those respective metro areas. We visited on a Saturday for lunch with my brother in law. We arrived right at opening and were seated almost immediately. A small queue formed when we left 2 hours later, so consider using the online waitlist. Upon being seated, we were asked to choose which all you can eat package we wanted to go for, and we opted for the "silver" option given that my wife and brother-in-law don't eat beef. Along with a variety of meats, the restaurant offers a wide selection of non-grilled dishes including Korean ramen, pajeon, and even Korean style corn dogs. The meat options tasted fairly fresh and we enjoyed the marinades, which struck the appropriate balance between slightly sweet and savory. Some favorites included the spicy pork bulgogi, marinated pork shoulder, the marinated kalbi, and, surprisingly, the buldak chicken. We also liked the buldak ramen, kimchi fried rice, and the various pajeon we ordered from the non-meat menu section. The banchan options while not remarkable were decent and paired with the food well. Do note that you are expected to cook the meat yourself, as the staff did not offer to provide cooking services. This contrasts to other Korean barbecue places I have been to that offer either self-cook or waiter cooking service. The grills here nonetheless are fairly simple to use and offer downdraft venting to reduce smoke and smells. I do wish the grills ran a touch hotter, as I struggled to get a good char on some of the meats without overcooking them. Service was prompt and attentive, and our waiter was on top of our constant orders and regularly changed out our grill plates. The environment feels bright, modern, and clean. The silver option costs $39 per person, which was fair given the great variety of options including pricier cuts of beef such as kalbi. While not the best Korean barbecue we have had, our experience at Seol Grill was nonetheless very solid and I am glad the Triangle has a respectable option for this kind of cuisine. read more

You can get on the waitlist through Yelp to cut down on your wait time. Unfortunately, we didn't realize that you could do this and there were a bunch of people waiting. Luckily the wait wasn't too long. My daughter was hoping the robot would seat us but it wasn't in use. Even though the restaurant was packed, the booth we were sitting at was surrounded with planter dividers and it was very secluded. We were impressed with the staff. Our drinks were kept full and our server checked on us often to see if we wanted to place another order. The staff walked around pretty regularly to check on our grill. When they noticed that the food started sticking to the grill plate, they quickly replaced it with a clean grill plate. My favorite was the Seol Steak. I also liked the Bulgogi but it wasn't as sweet as I've had at other Korean BBQ places. My daughter's favorite was the Premium Brisket which I thought was tender but lacked flavor. There is a 100 min. time limit from the moment your order is placed. I'm not sure how close we were to the time limit, but it was enough time with 4 people ordering several rounds of meat. We had a wonderful visit at Seol Grille. We checked in and received updates about our wait time through the Yelp app. The hostess was very friendly and apologetic for the wait. For context, it's Saturday and we arrived around 5:40 so it was very busy. We were seated in a little under an hour. They have a cute little robot that escorts guests to the table. Our server, Jan, was very attentive and happy to explain how ordering worked here. Turns out it was very similar to the hot pot restaurants so it was an easy adjustment. We ordered our meats and everything was seasoned well and we cooked it on our grill. They were super attentive and regularly changed out our grill so we would have a fresh cooking surface. Jan regularly checked to see if we needed sides or additional sauces and appetizers. The cocktails were good. My sister was celebrating a birthday and they brought out a complimentary dessert. I actually left my phone at the table after the dinner and before we could leave the premises they called my sister's phone to let her know one of us left our phone behind. My family and I have been here a few times now and enjoy coming here. My husband loves their French fries- I believe they double fry them. Crispy exterior with a fluffy interior! I would definitely make sure to have a reservation before going to dine- if you don't and are trying to eat at peak hours expect a wait. Service is usually pretty quick but on busier days expect some delays. The staff here are super friendly. All meat options and banchan are always delicious. We went on a Saturday evening, this was our second time here and both times were pretty busy. Highly suggest using the yelp waiting list unless you want to wait a while (30-45 minutes in our case) during peak hours. Upon arrival, I checked in with the host as the app said to do and the host said they'd text me when the table was ready. App indicated we were 4th in line. I got a notification from the app our table was ready about 10 minutes later and when I went inside the host had given our table away. I asked why they had not texted or called me and he said he called me. He definitely did not I think it might have been a language barrier resulting in miscommunication so just stay inside once you check in and you should be fine. Our waitress was great! We're still new to Korean BBQ and figuring out what we like and what everything is. She was so helpful and patient explaining each option and what meats were which. We ended up going with option A. It was plenty for us two and we enjoyed cooking it table side. I do wish they had more side options and more fresh vegetables. I cannot eat corn and the only other side was egg and rice. The green sauce they provide was both our favorites. It's kind of like a basil pesto. It was great on the beef. It can be medium level loud so if you plan to have a quiet dinner this isn't the place. Fortunately, I was with an experienced Korean BBQ lunch partner. We decided on the all you can eat option. At the table, are a small selection of (for lack of a better word) hors d'oeuvres - pickled cucumbers, kimchi, potato salad, bean sprouts, and sweet potatoes. There is also a salad to split. Additionally, there are a list of sides to choose from. I opted for the rice, mandu , and corn. I tried a few meat options. I found my favorite cuts are the marinated options: bulgogi, marinated pork, Seol steak, and baldak. However, you can't go wrong with any of the options. The service was excellent--very attentive--and the quality of the meat was top-notch. As someone on the carnivore diet, I definitely got my money's worth for the $40 per person price. I think I ate my body weight in brisket! The restaurant even had a robot bringing us to our table, which was a fun touch. We waitlisted on Yelp, which made the process so much easier--definitely recommend doing that to avoid a long wait. I loved that butter was offered as a side; it was perfect with my brisket and shrimp combo. The portion sizes were just right, allowing us to keep ordering without feeling overwhelmed. They do have some rules for the AYCE option, like no takeout, a 100-minute time limit, and everyone at the table must participate if one person does AYCE. Update - the one gripe I had is now gone. We've been here at this point probably 10 or 12 times, and every time I've mentioned to the manager that I don't like the fact that a lot of meats aren't included in the AYCE so it gets expensive if you want variety and also want, for example, LA Galbi. Well we went back in this week and guess what? They now have 2 AYCE plans - one with the old selection and the other for a few dollars more per person with everything on the menu included. Our favorite Kbbq place in wake county! The AYCE is the best option and the pork belly is to die for!

Came around 8:30pm after the dinner rush and took us about 10 minutes to be seated. The staff was cool and allowed us to hang out at the bar while we waited for our table. It gave us a chance to see that they serve Korean plum wine! Our group of three did the AYCE and ordered mostly beef and pork belly. They give about 5-6 side dishes, or panchan, which were all yummy! We ordered the corn cheese and lettuce (which is a $2+ up charge). FYI- They give about 4 pieces of lettuce for each serving. The meet was all well prepped and were easy to cook on our own. They also serve dessert! I chose the monaka, which is a waffle filled with ice cream, and I got strawberry. It was delicious! Totally unexpected to see on the menu, but was a nice treat to end the meal. 8/10 - okay meat selection, not happy about the lettuce upcharge, but everything tasted delicious read more
