This was the highlight of my recent trip to RTP. I was in the mood for wings and stumbled across this small fast-casual chain by chance. First, let me say this is NOT Wing Stop. This is Korean Style Fried Chicken, so don't expect Buffalo with a side of blue cheese or ranch. I went with the Soy Ginger (a must) and the Hot and Spicy. First, I've never had crispier wings in my life and they were big wings. The flavor of both were spectacular. These are made to order, so I recommend ordering ahead, as they will take 20-25 minutes and be VERY hot when they come out of the kitchen. The sauces can be a bit rich/heavy and I wasn't able to finish my order but I'm sure had I not been traveling, that they would have done well in the air frier the next day. Atmosphere is very unique (for US but probably not in Korea). A few flat screens playing K pop music videos, claw style game machines, well lit and very clean. I wish I had enough room to try the ramen, which I'm sure is fantastic as well. Only downside for me is that they don't serve alcohol. Having a small selection of imported beers would have been icing on the cake. read more

Chicken Bee soft opened recently in Mission Valley plaza where the Waffle House used to be. It's fantastic. I've tried the wings, drumsticks, and chicken tenders. All the sauces I've tried have been wonderful - they are so flavorful. I've tried soy garlic, spicy, and honey garlic. The spicy is very forward and doesn't build / linger beyond its welcome. The other two are the perfect blend of savory and sweet but each have their own flavor. My favorite item I've had so far is the wings, in whatever sauce sounds best in the moment. I am so happy this is open, it's a tremendous addition to the area and I am so so so happy to not have to drive all the way across town to Bonchon or the H Mart food court anymore. The people working here are super friendly. Ordering is done on a kiosk. It's a good way to explore the menu and I wish everyone there the best as this new location gets its legs under it. read more

My son and I were at NC State for a college visit from Chicago. I wished we had taken a picture of our delicious food, but I don't think it would tell the story. We have really good Korean chicken and this by far was on of the best I've had. Crisp and not overly breaded. The sauces were spot on. The own and family were warm and welcoming. Due to the Korean cooking technique in order to achieve the delicious crispy texture , food will not come out speedy but worth the wait! Lots of sauces to select from sweet and mild to spicy. Expect prices to be higher than other chicken joints. They mostly sell 1/2 (Aprox $16) - whole chicken (aprox $26) options. Lowest option is 6 wings for $10+ and it comes with a Choice of side. My mom and I were on the way home from a trip and were starving so we decided to stop at Chicken Bee. First thing we noticed was how high the prices were. It was way overpriced for the amount of food we got. Secondly, as we were eating a woman from the back walked out of the kitchen and checked both the men and women's restrooms to make sure no one was in the bathroom. They have a sign saying that the restrooms are not for the public which, I don't understand how a restaurant can legally do that. Finally, the food was subpar I would give it 1 star and that is being generous. I love Korean food and this place was a huge let down. Also, the ramen that they sell for around $13 is instant ramen from a package that you can buy at an Asian grocery store for $1. We will not be back. read more

Don't waste your time with this place. I have visited twice, once when it was brand new, and once on the afternoon of 1/15/2025. On the first occasion, it took 40 minutes for my simple order of 10 wings to hit the table. For the price I paid, I was expecting something of decent quality. When they did arrive, they were average, there was nothing special about them. Just average, regular wings. New places sometimes have timing problems, so figured on waiting a few months and trying again. Surely by now they have their act together? Wrong. Today, I ordered 10 wings once again. I waited a full hour before they hit the table and had to get them to go. My entire lunch hour was spent at their counter waiting and waiting for something that ought to take perhaps 10 minutes. Maybe their quality has improved, but I won't know because I didn't even get a chance to eat them. And on top of all that, they are overpriced. This place is just plain awful. Don't waste your time or money here. Especially if you are a working adult with a lunch hour. They can't serve you in that amount of time like virtually every other restaurant under the sun. And they don't seem to care either. Their wings are average at best, and cost a lot more than similar wings. Worst of all, food don't materialize for an hour after ordering at this crummy restaurant. What a great place for wings!! I was surfing Yelp for a snack and saw this spot! It's near NC State and I think the sign said they deliver to students free?? Either way, it's definitely worth the wait! The staff is very friendly and answered my questions about the menu. The chicken wings were fresh and flavorful. I ordered the honey garlic wings and a side of rice. They told me it would take 8-10 minutes for my order. It was a Friday night but it wasn't crowded. I don't think the students are aware yet. I am a college student nearby and they always hit, either with the amazing kimchi fried rice or the phenomenal chicken I always leave satisfied. Located near NC State, the restaurant has a clean minimalist metro retro modern diner atmosphere. It's not fast food, but you can order ahead or get delivery. A young family owns this location, and the father is the main cook. Visited a few times and always received great personal service. They specialize in Korean-style deep-fried chicken, with an assortment of sides, drinks, and other Korean dishes. I'm all about the chicken. They have boneless, but the bone-in wings, half and full chickens are the main attraction. If you'd like more original Korean style, try the scallion chicken (not spicy). It has great crunchy/crispy texture, flavor, and aroma. The half and whole chicken are cooked very hot, so the meat is tender and juicy. Spicy alternatives are great (beware, they don't mess around with spice levels, but they have a range). The creamy onion is another savory non-spicy alternative About the extras, they have a few Korean drink and side alternatives, as well as American coleslaw, but also Korean (& Japanese) yellow picked radish. Small portions but just enough to contrast the main dish. My favorite drink is Sac-Sac, a Korean grape drink with real grapes. I have tried one other location in Durham, and the quality is also good, and the menu is slightly different. Haven't tried the H-Mart location yet, but it should be similar. Slight nod to the Raleigh spot. Overall, a great Korean Fried Chicken place to enjoy a messy but yummy meal with good friends or family--just get ready to pull out the wet-naps! read more

A group of my friends and I were racially profiled and denied service. A group of 10 south Asian guys came to try out a new spot next to our campus. The second we walked in the door the manager or whoever was working the front greeted us with disrespect. He told us that he had banned us from coming previously and that he can't serve a group of 5 or more people. We have never been to that restaurant, he profiled us for another group of south Asian men. The food put a smile on my face. I have not been to Korea, but I did eat lunch semi-regularly in K-town out in Los Angeles, and even the smell hit right. As another reviewer noted, this is not fast food: the restaurant itself does look a little fast-food like, albeit with two screens showing K-pop videos; however, the food takes time, but absolutely worth the wait. Both the soy and spicy garlic sauces were on point, though the spicy wasn't even spicy by North Carolina standards it was tasty. A lot of the chain restaurants around campus aren't the highest quality, but for the chicken this place absolutely dunks on Wingstop. Only gripe was even an online order was ready 7 minutes after estimate and it was not busy at all. Highly recommend giving this place a try. read more
