Ajumma serves up some amazing Korean food in the area with reasonable prices and large portions! To start, they serve up a variety of banchan (side dishes) along with a platter of corn cheese! I'm a huge fan of corn cheese and this is a dish that Korean restaurants typically don't serve as part of their banchan, so I was pleasantly surprised :) For our order, we got the spam kimbap, jajangmyeon, and bulgogi (with side of rice). We were very impressed by the portion sizes for everything, especially the amount of noodles in the jajangmyeon dish. Plus, all of the food was delicious and very authentic in terms of flavor. We ended up taking some of the kimbap to go because we were stuffed, and they held up nicely as a quick snack later in the day!

Had heard great things about Ajumma so added to our list and finally went. What a great surprise! It's a cute restaurant that will fill up very quickly with a staff that is very pleasant and attentive. The food was on point and full of flavor. We were pleasantly surprised when our waitress came out with some starters that are standard for every table. A great start to the meal! I had the spicy pork bulgogi, my husband had the dumpling soup and then our son had the fried chicken. We also ordered the kimchi pancake- which I am not a huge kimchi fan but it was quite good. All of our meals were great and we had a lot of sharing at the table as well- everything was delicious. The amount of food in general was more than we could finish so we brought some back. We agreed that we will be back!

It was my first time trying Ajumma this week. I've heard from many people that this is their favorite Korean restaurant so I had to try it. The attentive service, complimentary side dishes, and interior of the restaurant made the experience very enjoyable. The kitchen was slightly backed up because of the number of orders, so we received our seafood pancake after we finished the rest of our food. I would've loved if it could have all came out at the same time. Other than that, the other food came out in a timely manner. The flavor of all the dishes was just right! Of all the places I've been to in the Triangle for Korean food, this was the most pleasant sit down experience. I do think it is more pricey for the quantity being served, but if you're craving Korean food and want a treat this is the place to go!

We stopped here for an impromptu dinner, and it was such a delightful surprise. We have not come across many authentic Korean establishments. The portion sizes were generous, and the pricing was reasonable. All of our dishes were made with care. Our favorite was the bimbambop which had perfectly crispy rice. And I really enjoyed my Melonia drink. We wish they had regular kimchi pancake, although the shrimp one was delicious. It was very difficult to eat and falling apart. Visit with time as there is often wait times and as soon as you enter, make sure to put your name on the waitlist. The food was delicious and definitely worth the wait. The ambience was cozy and well lit inside, although there was many tables it did not feel overcrowded, and it was a lovely setting to have our meal

Great spot! Came on a Thurs night about 6:45 and we were fortunate to get seated right away. Shortly after we arrived, all the tables were full and people were waiting for a table. The menu was so attaractive - I had trouble deciding what to order. We started with Classic Bimbap ($10) and it was a good choice. We both ordered Bulgogi Dolsot Bibimbap ($18) and really enjoyed it! Service was very good. Wish this place was in Charlotte!

This is a cute place with a cozy atmosphere. The menu isn't very large, and the alcoholic beverages take up more pages than the food. The service was amazing - just the perfect touch. We were seated at 5:30, and by 6:00, the place was packed. The food was decent, though nothing really stood out.

Fabulous spot! We went here for my sister in laws birthday and it was a great experience. The food was amazing. I had the bulgogi and I'm glad the portion was large enough for leftovers. I was very pleased come lunchtime the next day. Everyone else in our party loved their food too! Along with the cozy atmosphere and attentive waitstaff, I'd say this place was a winner. We've eaten here since and will definitely be back again!

This is the most authentic traditional Korean restaurant in the area. Cozy and the food is delicious. I loved my sizzling Dolsot Bibimbap (mixed meat and vegetables over rice with spicy gochujang) The hubs loved his noodle soup and my son ordered the Beef Bulgogi which was honestly, the best I've seen. My son enjoyed it and took half of it home. The staff was so nice and very welcoming. Looks like the regulars know just how good this place is. Absolutely coming back!

I was recently recommended by a friend to try this place out, and I was glad I followed the rec :) My sister and I came for dinner on a Tuesday night, and it was more crowded than I expected. Staffs were friendly, but the service could have been better - We were not attended to throughout the dinner, which was quite disappointing. No refills on side dishes and water (we finished the water pitcher already), and no one stopped by to check in on us. Side dishes were amazing. We actually finished them before the main dishes were served. Oh, how I wish they were refilled for our main entrees. I'm a sucker for Donkatsu, so I ordered that, whereas my sister ordered Dak Kalguksu. Between the two dishes, you should order Dak Kalguksu 10/10. Both the flavor and the portion size were amazing, and Donkatsu was just good - Nothing much stood out. She even took the leftover broth home so she can continue to enjoy Dak Kalguksu. The menu is pretty small, so I'd love to challenge myself to try every single dishes one day. I will be sure to come back for more Korean food!

We were looking for an early Sunday dinner with a friend who insisted on finding a spot with at least 4.5 stars -- not the easiest task. We ended up at Ajumma, and it absolutely lived up to the rating! We were seated right away and ordered several dishes to share: the katsu, dumpling soup, seafood pancake, and kimchi fried rice. Everything was delicious, generously portioned, and perfect for sharing. We left with plenty of leftovers and zero complaints. By the time we left, it was packed, so it's clear this is a popular spot! The service was friendly and attentive, and it's clear the staff takes pride in making sure guests have a great experience. We'll definitely be back and will be recommending Ajumma to friends and family visiting the area!

This is a local Korean family owned restaurant in Cary. There is plenty of space for parking in front and behind the restaurant. My friends and I visited here on a Friday night so there was about a 20 minute wait but we were quickly seated as soon as our name was called. We ordered the following: Budae Jigae This is such a perfect dish to get when the weather is cold outside and you're craving something hot and spicy. The beef broth was very flavorful and had a variety of toppings (veggies, protein, carbs, etc). I wish there was a little bit more ramyun noodles but it's still a great choice for a shareable dish! Bulgogi The beef was sweet, savory, and delicious! This was the perfect way to get more protein in and pairs perfectly with rice and the banchan (side dishes) Speaking of banchan, everything tasted fresh and tasty. The cheese corn, kimchi, fish cakes, and veggies were all fantastic. Aside from the delicious food, the workers here were all very welcoming and kind. I even got to speak with the owner here and she was lovely. You can tell how much love and care they put into their service and food. If you're looking for a spot to indulge in good Korean food, Ajumma is the place to go!

I tried Ajumma in Cary for the first time and it was SO good. The menu is selective but everything tasted authentic. Apparently the couple running the place ran a Korean restaurant in California for 20 years. The service was amazing and the aunties were so warm and friendly. I went on a Friday and it was packed. I've heard they've been getting really busy so I definitely recommend arriving early. It's a smaller space so there may be a wait but it's worth it.

The service was very nice but the food was a bit hit and miss. If a Korean restaurant tells me a dish is going to be spicy, I expect it to be spicy. The restaurant feels a bit small/crowded but they have some cute decorations. Dalsot Bibimbap with Bulgogi: This was served in a hot stone dish which was fun because it stayed warm/hot the whole time I ate it. Some of the rice became scorched which added a fun texture. I also loved that the sauce came on the side so you could add as muhc or a little as you wanted. The egg was a bit smaller than I would have liked. Spicy Mandu: not very spicy but they were decent and I loved the sauce they came with. Dak Gaejang Kalkuksu: Honestly, this dish was pretty boring. Not very spicy at all and it really lacked flavor/seasoning.

Even though this time we did not see the robot which is always cool we did have excellent service. Food is wonderful, we did the AYCE silver meals, the youngest did not eat enough for that to been worth the price but the gentleman made up for it. I would love for them to offer more side options or sauce options. The place was pretty clean, busy and a great place for date night, family night, or group get togethers

I came here when I was visiting my in laws, so naturally, I wanted to expose them to KBBQ. Unfortunately, I picked this place because a lot of reviews said its the best and allat, when in truth, this place is one of the worst KBBQ I have ever visited. Not only they stopped serving lettuce wrap (sure, they have it in the menu but they didn't stock it because their lettuce supplier increased the price or whatever), they did not offer any other wrap options like a decent kbbq should have (rice wrap, radish wrap, or shisho leave...etc). The meat quality? It's the cheapest cut you could ever get. The kalbi cut is so thin and tasted old (spoiler alert, they should be thicker and higher quality..), the other unseasoned meat cut is lower quality too. The seasoned meat were so bad I had hard time enjoying it. The bulgogi did not taste like a propee bulgogi and once again, tasted old like it has been in the fridge for too long. The spicy bulgogi was so grainy and not spicy at all, almost like they're using low quality gochugaru. Honestly, you will be much better off buying your own ingredients at h-mart or any asian grocery than going to this place. The only saving grace was the kind server who tends us often. 10/10 will not recommend.

The meat was very tender, and the sauce is so flavorful. The only reasons I put down four stars for service was the most recent time we visited, our servers were relatively inattentive. The atmosphere is nice, but the temperature in the restaurant is always just a little too cold. The pork bulgogi lunchbox is well worth the price! I love the way they season the bulgogi, although it is on the saltier side.

Grabbed lunch from here recently and enjoyed myself!…read more The staff were polite and helpful throughout the meal. My wife and I ended up splitting the kimchi pancake as an appetizer, and we both got the beef bibimbap for our entrees. We didn't end up getting any interesting beverages this time, but there were a few draft and bottled beers available as well as soju, sake, and other variations of alcohol :) Anyway, our kimchi pancake arrived pretty quickly, and it was very tasty! I liked how the green onion was integrated throughout, and the dipping sauce was very flavorful. It looked like it may be a bit spicy but in fact was sweet-ish :) Our bibimbaps arrived soon after, served in hot stone bowls. In addition, they provided six different small side dishes, all of which were very tasty! I really enjoyed the variety, as they ranged from pasta salad to kimchi. Honestly, the bibimbap was maybe my least favorite part of the meal, which surprised me. It wasn't bad at all, with plenty of tasty veggies included, but it didn't blow me away. Maybe I should have added more of the bottled sauce they provided :) Overall, we both really enjoyed our lunch at Okja and would definitely come back!

We also got the: - Seafood Pancake (crispy flour pancake with squid, shrimp, crab meat & scallions): Definitely my favorite dish- perfectly crispy and simultaneously fluffy, lots of well-cooked seafood. - Tang Soo Yook (battered deep fried pork, drizzled in sweet & sour sauce): I've never had this dish before, but I will admit I imagined it a bit different. It was more batter forward so the pork did get lost, but the batter itself was super chewy and almost tapioca-like, which was interesting. I liked the sauce, but I wish it came separately for dipping as the pork did lose its crunch. - Bi-Naeng (cold buckwheat noodles with pickled daikon, cucumber, pear, hard boiled egg, beef & spicy sauce): So refreshing! Loved the chew of the noodles and how complementary the spicy sauce was with the sweet pickled toppings. The beef was on the tough side with not a ton of flavor though. Ambiance is really nice and spacious, there are two sides: one with the bar and booths, another with wooden benches. Service was surprisingly fast. Lots of parking. 8/10 would recommend!
