I found this spot while looking for a rice bowl place near my hotel, and honestly... this was a great find. They offer Pepsi products for drinks, which is always cool. I ordered a teriyaki chicken rice bowl and added shrimp and cheese. The chicken tasted like it was made with chicken thighs -- super juicy, tender, and not dried out at all, which I really appreciated. The shrimp was a nice add-on, and the yum yum sauce was good. Looking back, I probably should've ordered an extra one for the bowl. They have plenty of seating if you want to eat in, and the menu is ordered through an iPad-style system. The server was very respectful and made it clear he was available if I needed help. I personally went with takeout, but both options are solid. Overall, I really liked this spot. I've been eating here for so long now and it's time for an update. Teriyakin continues to thrive and serve quality char-grilled bowls and plates. It's not your typical hibachi place where everything is cooked on a flat top, this meat is actually grilled to perfection! I kid you not but the vegetables are amazing too! My go-to is usually the Chicken and Vegetable plate. I feel like it's just enough protein along with a daily dose of veggies. I can eat this dish every day if I wanted. The prices are fair for the quality and portions that you get. I can finish the whole plate but if I'm not that hungry; it takes me two sittings to finish. This is one of my favorite local hibachi spots. They do a great job maintaining the true hibachi taste. I was told that 2 sauces came with each meal, and was only given one extra after inquiring about it. It's only 50¢ and I'm not a confrontational person so not getting 4 wasn't a big deal. If you are a more critique type of customer, you will need to be patient due to low staffing and check your order before you leave in case you order extra. Quick takeout place for teriyaki chicken. I'd recommend the chicken plate, which comes with teriyaki chicken, rice, Mac salad, and shredded cabbage salad. The salads really round out the meal with refreshing, crunchy bites, since teriyaki chicken is salty. The chicken is tender and juicy. The generous scallions on the chicken/rice is a really nice addition. The amount of chicken on the chicken plate is between that of the small and large. This has a grab and go place feel, but it also has plenty of seating if you choose to eat there. It was my first time, and the staff was really nice in answering my questions. I went here for dinner when I was staying in the Hyatt hotel, there are only two guys work there, it's their own business, I was told they were recently get the it, so the menu has been cut to keep the business running, just be aware of that. Came here a long time ago and it seems something has changed over the past couple of years. None the less, it was still yummy. I got the pork plate. It's grilled pork with some sort of teriyaki sauce over rice with cabbage and macaroni salad. I'm a sucker for macaroni salad and thought this one was pretty good. Lots of office buildings around here and it seems that most of those office workers flock to Teriyakin' because it's quick and it's tasty. Fast order cooked meat (chicken or beef) and rice bowls seemed to be the majority of the business and so that's what I chose. It didn't take five minutes until my number was called out and I sat to dig in. My chicken was cut into small pieces and thoroughly cooked in a light sauce and then displayed on top of a very large bowl of rice. There wasn't a whole lot of the chicken, but there was enough. And it was plenty hot with a good flavor, though the sriracha and soy sauces on the table helped. A very filling meal and not very expensive at all. I can see why it's so popular. read more

But the videos make for an interesting background at this restaurant while enjoying the food here. So let's get back to my review.... Like many on here, I read the Yelp reviews and said that I need to try Teriyakin' out. Plus it is local here to where I live in the great metropolis of Morrisville. Mo'ville has been growing by leaps and bounds lately, but foodwise there are certainly a lot more options than 5-10 years ago locally. This little gem is located near the 540/54 intersection, in a relatively new strip mall in that area. A good way to find it is to look for the new Hotel Sierra that is beside it (thanks for the tip Bruce G.). Inside, it's like someone threw a new fast food/diner place and cultural artifacts in a blender. It's kind of cool actually. I would not call Teriyakin' a fast food place, but it does look like it has a franchise business from their website. I do not know of any other location but this one around here. Most of their dishes come in either bowl (smaller portion, see pic) or plate (larger portion) sizes. I recommend the plate if you have a larger appetite, like me, and sometimes I even get extra meat. The first time I came, I ordered a bowl and it didn't hit the spot portion-wise. However, in taste, they always hit the mark, very delicious! I usually get the steak/chicken combo plate. The meat is seasoned and done perfectly, very tasty! It is chopped into very small tiny mini-nugget sizes though, I like a bit of size to what I'm eating but that's not either here or there on how it tastes. The sides of cabbage salad and macaroni salad, not bad, a bit meh, but the house dressing on the cabbage is pretty good and it's grown on me each visit. They are also pretty generous on the rice. I have come back more than once, and not been disappointed by taste of the food. Service has always been nice and friendly. They do start to recognize you if you stop by more than once or twice, and offer a familar smile. That goes a long way. Man. I surprised myself with how much I liked the food here, and I've experienced some good and authentic Japanese teriyaki (I've lived in Japan for three years)! A friend introduced me to this restaurant, and kept raving about this "amazing white sauce..." He said it was like crack. Yeah, 100% accurate! I blame my Asian heritage, but a bowl of chicken and rice is my version of great comfort food. The chicken is perfectly tender and not at all dry. The teriyaki sauce is just superb, but the icing on the cake is their white sauce. I didn't know if I'd like it, as I believe I'm a teriyaki 'purist,' but it really adds a spectacular flavor to the bowl! I finally got to go to the restaurant a few times (had it picked up and brought to me previously), and the atmosphere is quite authentically Japanese: a small locale with a long line of eager fans waiting to get their share of the goodness that is teriyaki! The menu says it's "yatai" style cooking which is found at Japanese festivals to celebrate a holiday, season, or other special event. The offerings are definitely different than most Japanese I've seen before. I signed up for their newsletter & received a coupon to try a new dish on the menu, the Suki bowl, which was delish! It's thinly sliced marinated beef and sauteed onions on top of rice. The whole dish is topped with very thinly sliced pickled ginger. It was like eating a strange sushi roll in a bowl! I do wish there was more sauce in it, but flavor wise it was delicious. My dining partner had the chicken and veggies, which she just loved. The coleslaw with ginger dressing - loved it too! The macaroni salad seemed a little out of place, but she said it was good too. I will definitely return - and hopefully soon!! read more

Love this place! I love anywhere that seeks to provide more authentic cultural food than the mainstream, but the food here is GREAT. You can get the typical teriyaki chicken or steak, but they also offer more Japanese fare such as an unaagi bowl (barbecued eel over rice) okonomiyaki (only on weekends), and macaroni salad with all the platters (a newer Japanese favorite, to be sure). Located just in front of Lenovo and many other RTP corporate offices, this place now gets packed for lunch now that it's popular. It's got a handful of booths and tables, but I opt for to-go lunch. Always a fan of flavor, I highly recommend the combo platter, which includes the chicken and steak, but more importantly, the short ribs. You've gotta work for it and rib the meat of the bone, but it's juicy and fatty and delicious. This is the only meat they have where I would say it's not as great a value -- they only give you a smattering of rib meat -- but I love it and get it anyway. Additionally I recommend the curry bowl in the wintertime -- a nice spiced gravy over hearty veggies and rice is perfect to warm you up. read more

Came here last night since I was craving some Japanese food. There was like two other people when I walked in so it's pretty empty on a Saturday night. You order at the counter and wait for your food to arrive. I ordered the 6 Gyoza appetizer and a bowl of Udon. The Gyoza were nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The filling was delicious and the chopped cabbage on the bottom added a nice touch. The Udon was the star of the show. On a cold night, it is the perfect food to warm you right up. Mine had tempura shrimp, Tamago (Japanese omelet), seaweed, crab meat and nice thick Udon noodles all in a savory broth. There was a little glitch in their computer system and the dinner items weren't available on the computer. Mama Teriyakin' almost told me that she might not be able to serve me okonomiyaki, I panicked. I suggested her to just charge me for an item of the same price (cat in boots eyes). Teriyakin' baba came out and figured it out for me. THANK THE LORD. I waited for quite some time for it, more than I expected. ~20 minutes. Maybe it was because I was their first dinner order (3:30PM) and wasn't prepared. The okonomiyaki was good for $6.95. The ingredients included cabbage, red sliced ginger, egg, flour and sliced pork. Topped with japanese crispy onion toppings, okonomiyaki sauce, and the "white" sauce. The condiments seem pretty standard, but the okonomiyaki was too pancake-y. The proportion of the flour was a lot heavier than the veggies/meat. It was a little heavier as I would have liked it, but for +$2, you can add shrimp. Maybe that will lighten the flour a little bit. The chicken wings was delicious. Soy sauce flavoured and came with lemon slices and ponzu sauce. The flavours added together was heaven in my mouth. Sour and Salty, YUM. Their ponzu sauce was very well made - I've had ponzu sauce from all the sushi restaurants I've tried in this area. It's my soy sauce. The only thing I'm iffy about the wings are that it is very small. 5 pieces. $4.95. The price isn't competitive for this item, but the flavour definitely is. read more

Not usually a big fan of teriyaki sauce - when I think of it, I just imagine this much too sweet and thick sauce smothered on overly-breaded chicken. However, I work close by, and one day my partner wanted to try Teriyakin' out since we've passed it a couple of times, and we actually both loved it! Here's the scoop with their sauce: it's really not all that thick, nor is it too sweet - they don't smother it on everything, just served as a nice dollop atop the (delicious) spare ribs and such. Their "yum-yum sauce" is good as well, an essential for hibachi dishes... in America, at least! The meats are so delicious, they all (this excludes the unagi) have that very prominent grilled taste that everyone loves, and are never overcooked or dry. All of the employees I speak with are very warm, personable, and welcoming. It feels like I have friends to talk to when I go and grab lunch alone, and you can't find that just anywhere. For a place called teriyakin, they were rather stingy on the teriyaki sauce! Also, they don't have fried rice! When I found out that they don't offer fried rice, I was pretty bummed. My shrimp bowl was filled to the top with white rice and sprinkled with a few pieces (I think 4?) of shrimp and a couple pieces of broccoli to cover up the fact that the rest of the bowl was all rice. The chicken plate was more filling. However, I found the tiny pieces of chicken to be overcooked. The macaroni side was pretty good. Both entrees (especially the shrimp bowl) needed more flavor.
