It is tucked away in an apartment/office complex off of Glenwood Avenue right near the 440 intersection. The food is always fresh and high quality. I have loved everything that I have tried and always go back for more. The place is cozy and not too big which gives it a speakeasy vibe.

We ended up parking by the regions bank building and walking across the street. To locate the front entrance of Sushi Mon you'll proceed into the office building and the entrance will be off to your right. Walking in the restaurant feels modern, upscale, sleek, intimate, and trendy. Since we arrived for lunch during the week they were running a few lunch specials. I ordered the sushi combo (6 pieces of nigiri and a Sushi Mon hand roll) with a miso soup. The miso soup was a pleasant surprise and was delicious quite filling as it contained cabbage, salmon, and mushrooms. The 6 pieces Nigiri was also well balanced and had a good selection of sushi (amberjack, salmon belly, cooked shrimp, etc.). The Sushi Mon hand roll was good but had a bit of heat to it. Overall, visiting Sushi Mon for lunch was a good experience and I'd likely return if I'm in the area

Sushi Mon - Inside. Sushi bar and dining room. This is pretty much it. They had additional seating outside in the office lobby which was weird.

Wow! Another amazing anniversary at O-Ku!…read more My husband and I have a personal tradition of having dinner at O-Ku every year for our anniversary. It's especially meaningful to us because it's where we had our first date many years ago. This year, we were greeted with the warmest smiles by the hostess, and shortly after, Ariel welcomed us with such genuine warmth. She even remembered us from our previous visits, which made the evening feel even more special. Our server, Itcel, was absolutely amazing. Thanks to her thoughtful and detailed descriptions of the menu, I felt inspired to try a new dish--and I absolutely loved it! A huge thank you to the entire O-Ku team for making our anniversary so special year after year. We're already looking forward to our next visit!

You are downtown and it comes with downtown parking matters. I was glad I brought a different pair of heels because it would have been a pain to walk from the parking deck to the restaurant. Now, once we got to the restaurant, we were seated within a few mins of checking in. We were seated in a great location within the restaurant, we were able to see the outside and the bar. Our server was very attentive and made great suggestions for us to try. They were very attuned with my allergies - making sure everything was safe for me to eat. They made sure to look up all the items within a meal and made good suggests to things that I could have without issue. They also made sure that they plated things around me that were safe and limiting cross contamination. It was truly appreciated and made for an inclusive dining experience for me :) Now, I can only speak to the food I ate - the salmon dish (Pan Seared Salmon [GFO] miso soy butter glaze, shiitake mushroom dashi orzo), the dumplings (Dumplings (6) crispy pork gyoza, garlic chili sauce), and the sake (Tozai: Blossom of Peace). The table stated all the items they had were really good and flavorful. I can say the same for what I had as well. The salmon was perfectly cooked, the veggies seasoned well, the sake was sooo good and balanced the dish out! The dumplings were light but filling. I can see why this could become a place to come for a romantic dinner or simple celebration.

Food: it is fusion- food genre. I grade pretty hard on fusion food because my belief is that if you need to stray from traditional taste then there has to be a very good reason why. Now, there are some others out there who loves fusion - For me, me too as long as it is exceptionally done. So I came here for ramen. It's fusion Mexican/ as I see birria ramen as well. The broth is rich and flavorful, it was good. It had Julian tomatoes which I thought it was good- some acidity cuts richness. But I really thought cilantro really put off taste and did not go. Soup was not hot enough. Came in plastic bowl. I think if you sit in their bar maybe you get actual regular bowl. Wish I knew in advance. Service: very minimal. Price: thought it was pricy for what it is.
