They were the original sushi burritos in the Triangle and have expanded their menu offerings since to add loaded nacho and fries options. My favorites are tuna and salmon burritos along with the tuna nacho wantons! It's a casual spot where you order at the counter and your food will be delivered to your table. I've never had bad service here over the number of year I've been coming which I appreciate! If you love a good bargain, they have daily specials throughout the week. Additionally making a rewards account is a great way to learn about special promotions they are running so definitely recommend that. read more

The burrito is a pretty good size filled with a lot of fish. This is the fourth time having it and it is very consistent which is great. The rewards program is what drives me back usually as there is some offer so I would recommend signing up! I searched for a place to get sushi, and Sushioki came up in the search. I was initially disappointed that they didn't have traditional sushi but after giving a burrito sushi a shot, I am sold! I got a spicy tuna burrito, and it was amazing. A mix or real tuna, mildly spicy dressing, fresh avocado and a base of rice was a very satisfying meal. It was a bit pricy ($19), but you get a decent amount of food. Quality food. Service for a pickup on a weekday afternoon was excellent - 5 minutes, and I was out of the door. I've wanted to try out Sushioki for AGES after seeing a ton of social media photos of their sushi burritos, but it was always too long of a drive from me. I finally got the chance recently and tried their Spicy Tuna Nachos, Reel Alaskan sushi burrito, and Crustacean Sensation sushi burrito. They also had some famous Bites of Sam cookies when I visited! Check their Instagram for updates on the weekly cookie drop-off times. The Spicy Tuna Nachos were great and I loved how they used wonton chips rather than tortilla chips. The Reel Alaskan had too much dressing for me and detracted from the salmon inside, but I loved the Crustacean Sensation! I would get that one again. Olivia was the one that helped me and before I could even order I was in a full conversation with her. She was so kind, warm, and funny! She made my night! We finally got down to ordering and I told her that I wanted something crunchy and spicy and she recommended the Crustacean Sensation, which was imitation crab, shrimp, rice, and a yummy spicy sauce. My total for this amazing burrito goodness was just $12! I waited a little bit for my wrap as it was busy. They had lots of to go orders. I took in the atmosphere, which was so positive. It's been some time since my first review of Sushioki, so I figured it's time for an update. My original update had the RDYoo atop my list as the favorite roll, but over the years as I've frequented Sushioki, I've grown to love the Reel Alaskan. My go-to now is a Reel Alaskan - raw salmon in a delicious G-sauce with pickled daikon, pickled red onions, masago, and cilantro - in a bowl with half rice and half salad. I'll still go with the sushi burrito on occasion, but I appreciate the cleaner eating experience from a bowl. Not only is the salmon really good quality, the G-sauce is a nice mayo / ranch-based sauce that complements the fish really well. The pickled daikon and pickled red onions provide the much-needed acid to counter the fattiness from the salmon and sauce. All that with sushi rice is perfection. My 2nd favorite is the Spicy Tuna roll - raw tuna mixed with a spicy sauce, pickled red onion, tempura flakes, cucumber, and avocado. It's a lot packed into a roll, but it all works well together. My favorite non-raw roll is probably Bull City Bulgogi, with beef bulgogi, kimchi slaw, pickled daikon, and their special sauce. But I think the overlooked dark-horse roll has to be the Southern Sushi - pulled pork, slaw, and pork rinds. Not only is the pork + sushi rice a pleasant combination, the pork rinds are my favorite. I oftentimes get pork rinds on the side anyways, but their addition in the Southern Sushi is a game-changer. Honestly, I haven't tried a roll I didn't like here at Sushioki. So if it sounds good to you, you should go for it and I bet it'll be awesome. Even the vegan options taste great (which says a lot coming from a meat-atarian). The service is top-notch - they go above and beyond to make sure you have a great experience. There's always ample parking, and they've done a great job adapting to COVID with their precautions and protocols. Sushioki is hands down my favorite fast-casual restaurant in Durham. read more

We took the food to a nearby park and enjoyed them together on a sunny December afternoon. She ordered salmon with avocado, I got shrimp. The rolls are huge and very tasty. It's basically a combination of a burrito and a sushi roll. If you like both of those flavors, it is exactly what you have always wanted: a burrito-sized nigiri roll with both Mexican and sushi flavors. I found it magical. I wish I'd either read, or assumed, that it would come in a seaweed wrap. The fillings were good, but the seaweed was walking the fine line of the "fishy" zone for me. I stopped in for lunch and the food & service was top notch. I ordered the Bull City Bulgogi burrito and the Bulgogi Nachos with a Thai tea to drink. I'll start by saying the burrito is very, very filling. There was just enough of each ingredient so you were able to get the full taste in each bite. The nachos were also a nice portion size and amazing. I'd highly recommend. I wasn't sure what to expect with the Thai tea but I was curious to try it. First of all, the words Sushi and burrito, was plenty enough for me to run into this restaurant, like I was a track star. However, once inside, this place was so adorable. We chose to make our entrees a meal, so we ordered a side of seaweed salad and pork rinds. For our drink, we chose a classic. Thai tea. Starting off with the tea. Yo, it was very delicious. I love Thai tea, so when restaurants serve this as a drink option, I order it so fast, as if the drink is gonna get on two legs and run away. Yeah, I'm not exaggerating. The tea was sweet, and the flavor was just great overall. Next, our appetizer, the crab Rangoons. Boy, were those suckers drenched in a delicious sauce. Flavor was great, I really enjoyed the filling. The seaweed salad and pork rinds were also good, obviously what I would expect, since the food had tasted great so far. Now, getting to the most important part of this review. DRUMROLL! The crustacean sensation! It was packed with spicy crab and tempura shrimp, sushi rice, wrapped in seaweed. There were other ingredients inside as well, and I'm pretty sure you can edit what you like in this meal. I honestly thought this was a brilliant idea. The ratio of ingredients was great, and the portion sizes are huge. Now, there is no such thing as better sushi than when visiting Japan, but ever since I came back, this is definitely one of the better sushi places. I would make a drive to come back here again. Updating my review because it's been a while. Still 5 stars from me! The team at Sushioki is always so cool, kind, and welcoming. The food is great, too! I live in Raleigh and travel 20-30 minutes to get here every time but it's always worth it. This place is definitely one of my favorite spots to grab lunch in the Triangle. Whether you order online, in the app (yes they have an app! You can download it in the App Store), or in person, the food is always made fresh and tasty. Since my last review, you should know that I'm still obsessed with the spicy tuna wonton nachos and have finally tried the Reel Alaskan, too. It was so good! I love the cubed pickled daikon and the crunch it gives the burrito. I was suspicious of the cilantro but it worked really well! It may be my new favorite... for now! Last time I stopped by I got the Reel Alaskan, spicy tuna wonton nachos (of course), and I was able to get my hands on 2 of the cookies and cream cookies from Bites of Sam and OMG. So decadent.
