Spicy Tuna Burrito
Zion H.

Have always wanted to try a sushi burrito and I know from travel California is known for places like this. Being from Hawaii I was a little hesitant to see how it would be in NC but the fish was absolutely delicious and I loved the concept. It tastes great and definitely will come back next time I'm in town. We can in the mid afternoon so it was a bit quiet but could see it could be busier around a lunch rush. And food came out timely and once again tasted delicious.

Perfect place for a quick lunch. The service is always friendly. Able to easily walk in and order almost immediately. A food comes out quickly and is fresh. No real complaint when I stop by.

We stopped by Sushioki after work to grab a quick bite. Food was served fast after ordering. We got two hand rolls, one vegetarian and the other with Korean chicken and both were delicious. The space is small, but inviting, and very clean. I highly recommend stopping by if you want a different take on Sushi.

If you're in the mood for sushi just don't feel like droppin' a bunch of bills to get that fix, Sushioki will satisfy that! Their sushi burritos are outstanding. This was our first time here and we are glad we came here to try it. The menu selection is decent and their staff is quite friendly. The food was prepared rather quickly in spite of them having multiple to-go orders to fulfill. Their ambience is fine but could use more of design flow however I think the main reason you'll be stopping by if for the food. The prices are about average, portion size is reasonable. We'll be back in the future for sure!

Hidden gem perfectly describes this place. Sushioki offers a fun twist on traditional sushi, serving it burrito-style, or as a bowl if that's more your vibe. While it's not an over-the-top, flashy dining experience, the food speaks for itself: fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. It strikes a great balance, light yet filling, healthy without sacrificing taste. I sincerely enjoyed my meal here and will definitely be back for more.

Service is quick, the guy that works there really helped us figure out what we wanted, the food is absolutely amazing, great portions, the crab rangoons are amazing, and the restaurant is clean and the music is nice

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food here! I'd recommend giving it a try you're on the fence about it. The food: The draw for Sushioki is its sushi burritos, and that is what I'd recommend! My friend and I split 2: the RD Yoo (poke tuna) and Reel Alaskan (salmon). The fish and ingredients in general taste fresh. The veggies and sauces really complement the fish well. The presentation is nice. There are also bowls you can try. The space and service: small, no nonsense space. Cute decorations of North Carolina. Order at the counter and they'll bring you the food. Self service for water. Our waitress is sweet and took the initiative to pre split the burritos for us. It would be a good place for lunch with friends. Convenient location. Plenty of parking, as this is next to Brig's and Starbucks. Give it a shot if you're into sushi!

Very cute little place. I've been looking to try a sushi burrito place for some time now and stumbled across this spot. "2nd best" according to WRAL, as they proudly display at the front! Lol. It is really nice indeed. I visited a couple times and tried both sushirrito and a bowl and both did not disappoint. Fresh fish, ample amount of delicious sauce, and toppings are paired very well together. Very pleasant experience with people who work here too, very friendly and ready to give recommendations. They also have rewards program you can sign up for right at time of purchase, and it gets you $2 off on your first visit!

Food offerings were unique & reasonably priced for the value proposition. Friendly staff. Would skip the "Thai Iced Tea".

The rolls looked pretty nice when they came out -- colorful with different toppings, sauces drizzled on top, and some green onions. The fish tasted fresh enough and the rice was okay, not too hard or mushy. But honestly, the flavors were just average. Some rolls were a bit too sweet from the sauce, others a little salty from the roe. It was creative, but nothing that really blew me away. The place has a nice warm wooden table vibe and the lighting is good for photos. Service was quick, no long wait. Price-wise, it felt a little expensive for Durham -- four rolls and we weren't super impressed with the value. It was fine for a casual meal, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come back just for the sushi. Might try something else next time or their omakase to see if it's better.

It was mostly rice mixed with sad iceberg lettuce ( mixed greens ) and the toppings were skimpy. For $18 this was disappointing. It was supposed to have three proteins. I added radish, crunchy onion and edamame. It was sad. In addition to the toppings I ordered there was a bunch of ginger and a marble-sized glob of wasabi hiding in the mix. Glad I avoided being surprised by that. I took the photo after I'd eaten so you can see how much rice was still in the bowl. The waiter was super sweet. He'd do better at another job. I'll stick to Zen Fish. There everything is fresh and vibrant and the choices are more exciting. Plus, their mixed greens are actually 'mixed greens'.

First of all, the AC was not working on the night we visited so things did not get off to a great start. It was warm in the dining area. The lighting was dark (maybe to not add to the heat). We enjoyed our Thai ice teas and seaweed salad appetizer but found our entrees (angel hair special and marine couple) just okay -- nothing special. The scallops in the marine couple were pretty tasteless. The owner came by and chatted with us a little bit, which is always nice. We've had tastier food at other local Asian restaurants so we'll probably pass on coming back soon. We wish them well.

Our service was great... especially with how busy they were. I had crab ragoons, crab salad, the special roll called the Lady Bug and fried cheesecake. Really liked the ragoons qith a good amount of cream cheese in a pastry. The Lady Bug roll was delish. The crab salad was different, but good. I believe I expected chunks of crab and it was shredded. Never had fried cheesecake, but cheesecake is my favorite dessert so I wanted to try it. Nice fried crust on the outside and creamy on the inside. It was a good experience.

The fish overall ranges from OK to not the greatest but for dinner you're only paying $26 or so before taxes and tip. They have your standard nigiri, standard rolls, cooked rolls, specialty rolls, and hand rolls. You can also choose from a few appetizers and their hibachi offerings. They also do a la carte and takeout. The service here is fairly good as my waiter was checking in on me every 10-15 min or so. My only problem is it's very tiny inside and tables are nestled so close to each other so you're almost within arms reach of another table. Gets very busy so there will definitely be a wait depending upon the time you go so plan for that but you can walk around the Whole Foods around the corner or around Duke East Campus across the street while waiting.

The quality of the fish was great, the flavor combinations were unique, and each course was different from each other (I appreciated only one course- with 4 items- was tempura/fried). You can add on additional tempura items at one point in the meal, and you can add on a wine and sake tasting. My favorite courses of the meal were the FIRST "seabass sammie" and the brie tempura (get the add on if it's not included in your menu!!!!) Some of the courses were interactive (I.e. cooking lobster in butter) and made for a cool, fun, and unique experiences. The restaurant is small and cozy (limited seating, so make a reservation far in advance), and both the waiters and the chefs were extremely friendly and engaging (sit at the bar counter). Really enjoyed all of the food, and an opportunity to wear something nice, and to eat something different (than what you're used to in Durham). I appreciated they had 2 other tasting menus, for cheaper prices (one was only $38), and that every tasting menu was VERY different from each other (makes it easy to come back multiple times). Would highly recommend M Tempura, and will definitely be back!
