This was a to go order and I cannot rate the restaurant. But I was a little sad that I ordered online, picked up and left without noticing my drink was missing and when I got home. I realized that they left my drink off of the ticket attached to the food order even though it was paid for as well. I would check any online orders twice before walking out. The restaurant looked great though, and it was well decorated with ample seating for large groups and quite busy on a week night . My tuna poke was also really delicious with fresh tuna, no fishy aftertaste and really fresh sides/pairings. It was a lot of food, tasty rice too, so I was satisfied!

FRIED CHICKEN BAO

I walked into this restaurant, but based on how busy they were, I would definitely recommend a reservation. We sat at the bar. The food was fresh. It was really good! I had a sushi platter, which I would recommend to anyone. We could see the kitchen so we saw a lot of the food come out and I would pretty much try anything on the menu. I was traveling in for work, but I would definitely stop by this restaurant again if I had the opportunity.

We love Lulu Bang Bang! There is such a variety of options from sushi to pad thai to teriyaki. They have an open dining room, bar seating and a few private rooms that are great for larger groups . Service is always great and the food never disappoints.

THAI RED CURRY with rice

We came to LuluBangBang on a Friday evening. I made reservations prior to the day but it didn't seem like they were necessary. Multiple people were dining in but it wasn't overly packed. There is a full service bar and multiple seats in the business. There is also a private dining area available. We were initially seated right away in a tight corner by the hostess. We asked our server if we could move to another table nearby. Our server Kelani was very helpful, friendly, and attentive. I ordered the bang bang shrimp for an appetizer. The shrimp was good. I got the red Thai curry dish for my entree. This dish is very flavorful, served hot, and I enjoyed it. My only complaint about this dish was that the green peppers in it were really big. I was given a small bowl of rice with my large bowl of the Thai curry. I had leftovers and asked if there would be a charge for more rice and I was told yes.

KUNG PAO CHICKEN

This is a beautiful and really big restaurant that I knew was going to be good just by seeing the amount of people eating here for lunch at 12 on a Monday. The parking lot in the front was full but thankfully it wraps around the building. The inside is nice and spacious with different kinds of booths and seating areas. Our server and the hostess were both extremely friendly and helpful while looking through the menu. The prices are fair and the food came out in good timing. The presentation of the food was also beautiful. We were able to be in and out within 40 minutes. We got the spring rolls, fried chicken bao (ordered from all the reviews about it), evil noodles, and kung pao chicken (asked for it to be less spicy). The fried chicken boa buns were as great as everyone said- the bao was so soft and chicken was so good that it didn't even need all the toppings in it. The steak in the evil noodles was so good that it made me want to try the mongolian beef dish. The noodles were great too. I would just say the amount of peppers and carrots it contained filled a bowl up and after removing a lot of the veggies I didn't have much noodles. It made it feel like too many filler veggies that were clouding the great noodles. I didn't find it to be spicy either. The kung pao chicken dish was good and we got it with fried rice instead of jasmine. The fried rice could've used a bit more flavor but overall the dish was good!

YAKI UDON STIR FRY CHICKEN

We had a lot of food this night because it was my first time and I could not decide what I wanted to try. We started with the crispy fried chicken bao (3 bao included), steamed dumplings (5 included), and the crispy tuna bomb. They were all fantastic. The crispy fried chicken bao was the most delicious bao I've ever had in my life. It was seasoned well, it was moist, the sauce was delicious. Amazing. I could have only had that fried chicken bao and enjoyed my meal for the night. The steamed dumplings were good so definitely worth a try. The crispy tuna bomb was delicious and I don't even eat tuna really. I highly recommend it. The yellow curry dish was excellent, even with the cashew in it. Very filling and delicious. I loved most of the food we had here. My one complaint was the Yaki Udon. The dish should be renamed "Hunting for Udon". It was like they didn't have enough noodles to provide so they filled the dish with pieces of chicken, tons of carrots and bean sprouts so you'd be distracted by the fact that you couldn't really find the udon. I'd never get this dish again. Our waiters were also amazing and helpful and funny. The restaurant was offering half-price bottles of wine as well which was great after a long week. I cannot wait to go back to this restaurant. The restaurant was pretty full but it's a huge location so they're bound to find seating for you.

The service was excellent. Kelani (the waiter) was extremely welcoming, kind, pleasant, and attentive. The restaurant was clean and presentable. I do recommend LuLuBangBamg I went with the Mr. Gandhi basil fried rice and added salmon. This entree was loaded with vegetables and bursting with flavors. The eggplant in this was so good. Not a vegetable I'd typically go for but it was still all love. The temperature of my entree was PERFECT! Slight mess up: The salmon was not medium well as ordered. A bit overcooked. Perhaps the wok was too hot. The wins: Overall, I still really enjoyed the dish and cleaned my plate. Service and flavors here didn't miss a beat.

Miso Soup

A cute spot with a variety of Asian dishes, a solid drink menu, spacious seating and good service. I started with the miso soup. It was pretty good, packed with tofu and seaweed. For my main, I had the evil noddles with chicken as an extra protein. The noddles were good! They weren't that spicy and the chili sauce helped balanced everything out. It was a pretty decent size portion that you could split it with someone if you wanted. Everything came out fairly quick. The waitstaff was helpful with recommendations and checked on us frequently. They all help out so you don't have just one server.

Drunken Noodles

Walking in this seemed like a pretty nice spot. We showed up at opening so we were immediately able to sit down. Our waiter was lovely, making some food recommendations which we followed. As each course of food came out it got better and better. My main dish of drunken noodles was so so good. I will definitely be coming back because there are more things I want to try.

We finally tried this place last night and we are hooked. The host, Omar, was so incredibly sweet and helpful and we had no issues being seated as it was quite crowded. Our server, Tracy, was so friendly. She was also a lot of fun as she went over the extensive menu and all the great options for both food and drinks. We decided on the evil noodles, mango tuna crisp roll, and a dragon roll. I am very particular about my eel and this was by far the tastiest dragon roll I have ever eaten (and I have eaten a lot). The evil noodles were delicious and spicy but not too spicy that you couldn't enjoy the delicious flavor. Can't wait to go back. Next time we will save room for dessert because those options looked amazing as well.

I recently visited Lulu Bang Bang on a Friday night with a couple of friends. We had a reservation and were seated right away. Heads up: the front lot looks cramped, but there's extra parking around the building. The space is super bright and open with lots of windows, high ceilings, and plenty of indoor/outdoor seating. The menu is extensive--I got the Evil Noodles with sliced steak, veggies, and wide rice noodles. The portion was huge (definitely enough for two meals), and it had a solid kick of heat, but the sweetness from the chili sauce was a little too strong for me. Service was friendly but pretty slow throughout the night--probably due to the Friday night rush. I'd come back to try more dishes, but maybe on a less busy night for a smoother experience.

Pad Thai

My niece posted pics of food and drinks in her Snap that looked really good. She was at Lulu, so I added the place to my list. Made dinner plans with a co-worker that was in town and Luku was the perfect location as he was staying near the airport. We started with the Lettuce Wraps and Bang Bang Shrimp. The sauce on the shrimp has good heat and flavor to them. Sometimes, they aren't as spicy as I would expect at other restaurants. The meat for the lettuce wraps was very flavorful and a good portion size for 3 or 4 people. The guys were very happy with their dished of Pai Thai and Evil Noodles. I got the Braised Pork Belly Bao and Crispy Tuna Bomb. Both were delicious. For the Bomb I was expecting more or a sushi roll, but it came out like a big ball cut into 4 pieces. Different and delicious! They have a lot of seating inside. There is a huge room with a TV that could be used for meetings and another smaller private room where you could have a smaller party. They have 2 areas for outside dining and the sushi bar. Cool ambiance and seating. It's definitely a place to try!

BANG BANG SHRIMP

Food was very good. Prices are a little high but overall good. This is the second time I've been and would recommend the bang bag shrimp. There was 4 of us and we each ordered two rolls which came on one big boat. It was a little confusing what was what and they had to get a sushi chef to tell us which roll was what vs just plating them for each person.

Rainbow Roll and Shrimp Tempura roll. Isn't that pretty?

I almost didn't go, because I thought this was the downtown Durham restaurant, which is nice, but parking nightmare. Glad I went, though. The food was solid. I had the fired chicken sandwhich and fries the first day, a buffalo chicken wrap the second day, and the smoked chicken wings the third day, yes, 3 in a row. That has to say something, especially for me. All lunch items were pretty spot on, although I like a little more vinegar in my slaw than most. That was remedied by the texas pete on the bar. The service staff were all hands on. If the bartender was not there, the manager or a back of the house person was always checking on me. Very nice staff. As far as the ambiance itself, nice setup. Good sized bar, nice big patio, clean indoor and restrooms... all in all, I could not ding them for anything. I need to go to check out the weekend brunch or dinner menu. I am sure that I will not be disappointed, however, I have been told to get to brunch before noon, as it gets very busy, also a good thing. Cheers. :)

Even better surprise: the patio was wide open and dog-friendly. Immediate bonus points. Service was great. She was friendly, attentive, and helpful with recommendations without being overbearing. I had the Shrimp & Grits, which came with plenty of large shrimp and really rich, flavorful grits. Definitely a solid choice. My date ordered the Blackstone Benedict -a sort of ham, poached eggs, and hollandaise, with breakfast potatoes and gluten-free bread. She was genuinely thrilled with it, which is saying something as she is a hollondaise stickler. By the time we were leaving, a line had started to build, so if you're planning a weekend brunch here, I'd recommend getting there on the earlier side. Parking is easy (big lot), and there's a grocery store right next door, which is surprisingly convenient. Overall, just a really easy, enjoyable brunch spot with good food, great service, and a relaxed vibe. We'll be back.

Going with bits of Indian, Italian, and Mexican cuisine with bar standbys like burgers and salads, there's something for about every taste preference. Casual but nicely decorated inside and service with a bit of a personal note to it, I had a good lunch visit here. The Deets: I went for a walk down Hatcher Creek Greenway and decided to duck into Morrisville Square for a bite to eat for lunch. I had seen Sips N Spices on my Yelp radar for the neighborhood so chose them for some eats. With the outside signs displaying "Grill, Taco, Pizza & Bar" it sounded like they had quite the variety. That variety shows through upon entering in, with the atmosphere and menu. The feel on the inside is cool and eclectic both, very relaxing and very casual but clean and well decorated (see pics). As far as the menu, they have a fusion of Indian, Italian, and Mexican going on but also burgers and salads if you are looking for more bar-like cuisine. They really do have a little bit of everything, even hookah and a full bar. The atmosphere was chill and relax with friends kind of vibe to me. In looking at all the possibilities on the wide variety offered on the menu, I went a bit out of my comfort zone in ordering the Butter Chicken Pasta dish (without the optional green chili). Note to tea drinkers, they only offer sweet tea I found when I tried to order unsweetened tea but I was good with a Diet Coke instead. The Butter Chicken Pasta was a perfect lunch portion served as a bowl. Even without the green chili option, it still had a bit of spice to it but enough to make it flavorful without being overwhelming (as you know, I'm not one for overly spicy foods). Even with the dish having more spice than expected (he said he would place the order in as mild), I enjoyed my lunch here as this pasta dish was anything but boring and lackluster, again flavorful comes to mind. I also liked that Nick here at Sip N Spices took the time to ask me how I knew about them and what brought me in, as well as him sharing that the dishes are inspired by his grandmother's recipes. Personal customer service is always a positive in my book and it was shown here. I look forward to trying other menu selections here, especially if I have an urge for a burger in the future. A good first visit here!

As a vegetarian, there were admittedly pretty limited options, but I was aware of that going in and still wanted to try out this Durham institution. You get complimentary Focaccia (not once, but twice!), with perfectly crusty outside, bouncy inside, and a wonderful olive oil. If I had known this beforehand, probably would not have ordered the Dinner Rolls- nonetheless, they were delightful (pillowy soft and came with an airy butter). As an appetizer, we got the Little Gem Lettuce, which was a little too salty for my taste, and I felt the citrus accentuated the saltiness even more. However, my friends thought it was seasoned well so take this with a grain of salt lol. But I did enjoy the creaminess of the dressing and the crunch from the topping; also, it was pleasant to eat along with some bread. For my entrée, I got the Spaghettini. This was my first time trying shaved black truffle and I was underwhelmed, but I loved the pasta itself, which had a really unique bite to it and was rich but not heavy. The pasta dishes are on the smaller side with regards to portion. Last but definitely not least: the Hot Chocolate Soufflé. Oh my gosh. When I say this was heavenly, I could literally hear angels singing as I took my first bite. The hot fudge was velvety but not overwhelming, the soufflé soft, and perfectly balanced by the cool bourbon-caramel ice cream. This is assembled table side so you get a fun little show as well haha. We were taken on a bit of an emotional rollercoaster because apparently they were having trouble with the oven, but so grateful that could be fixed. Service was amazing (shout out to Beza!), very friendly and appropriate timing. Ambiance is superb, literally the epitome of modern elegance and probably the best in Durham for a fancy night out. Highly recommend getting a reservation. I could see parking being tricky on busy weekends, but I was able to snag a spot in front of the restaurant. Overall, I had a good experience with some minor room for improvement with dish execution but definitely would appreciate more vegetarian and vegan-friendly options (although, I suppose I didn't ask if modifications to dishes was possible). 9/10 would recommend!
