    Sushi rolls

Came back here after a few years and had a good experience. Came for dinner and was seated immediately. We got edamame and seaweed salad as apps along with the firecracker (sushi app). Those all came out and were delicious. We really enjoyed the crispy tuna app (firecracker)! I would definitely get this again. Our server was great and checked on us frequently and mad sure to refill our drinks. We order a few sushi rolls and it was all 10/10! We came on a Tuesday night so it was 50% off rolls as a daily special. Would highly recommend this place for sushi. Prices were very reasonable and there was plenty of parking even at dinner time.

They seemed to know about gluten free options which was great. An extensive menu and a fair price. Nice people and it was cooler inside than I expected from seeing it from the road. I would come back

This sushi is GREAT and super affordable. All rolls were BOGO. Everything tasted fresh and came out quickly. Service was good. The sushi is near Duke campus, so it seems like a great place for college students. However, menus were SUPER worn down and one of the toilets in the women's bathroom wasn't flushing.

Sushi love is one of my favorite sushi spots to visit on Tuesdays and Thursdays for their half priced sushi rolls (regular and specialty), sashimi, and nigiri. I've enjoyed this restaurant for nearly 10yrs now and their service has always been on point, the ambiance is amazing, their sushi chefs know exactly what I need, and I love their 1/2 priced Thursday cocktail and martini specials. I highly recommend checking them out - -scallop nigiri (torched is my favorite way to eat this delicious mollusk ) - -escalor sashimi (delicate, buttery taste and texture) - -Halloween roll (made with soft shell crab, kani, asparagus, and topped with salmon, this is my favorite roll) - - Green River Roll (yellowtail, spicy tuna, cucumber, and topped with a wasabi cream sauce creating the perfect amount of bite ) - -I'm always a fan of their creamy Thai tea

Can't beat their BOGO deal if you're looking to fill up on different sushi rolls especially with a group! Service was fast and as expected for a sushi restaurant. Would stick to their popular rolls and come here with reasonable expectations.

Listen, if you need edible sushi while you're stuck at Big Duke, this is certainly better than cafeteria sushi and perhaps one step above Harris Teeter sushi. You can definitely tell that fish has been previously frozen, but I've never gotten sick here, so if you're willing to drown yours in sauces, you probably wouldn't even notice. Service is usually friendly, I've definitely found it to be better when I'm dining with others than when I'm alone, but that's the case at a lot of places. I will say that their spring rolls are some of my favorite--nice and crispy with a good dipping sauce.

Another great meal! The sushi rolls were fresh, saucy, and delicious and they came out pretty quick. I love the sushi here!

The service was fast and friendly. Cleanliness was not top notch. The sushi itself was not great. One of the rolls had so much paprika on top it was literally caked. The roll I had with cream cheese just tasted a little off. I get rolls with cream cheese (ie: Philadelphia) regularly but I think they used a whipped cream cheese that even tasted a little sweet.

The rolls looked pretty nice when they came out -- colorful with different toppings, sauces drizzled on top, and some green onions. The fish tasted fresh enough and the rice was okay, not too hard or mushy. But honestly, the flavors were just average. Some rolls were a bit too sweet from the sauce, others a little salty from the roe. It was creative, but nothing that really blew me away. The place has a nice warm wooden table vibe and the lighting is good for photos. Service was quick, no long wait. Price-wise, it felt a little expensive for Durham -- four rolls and we weren't super impressed with the value. It was fine for a casual meal, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come back just for the sushi. Might try something else next time or their omakase to see if it's better.

Not so positive: parking can be tough, the lot is always packed. I think it is a shared lot because the restaurant was pretty empty during my visit today. i have visited twice now (jan 2026 & may 2026) and i order a decent amount of food for the table to share. Both times, every plate has been room temperature. Thats super disappointing especially since the Korean dishes we ordered are typically served very hot (and in clay pots). It would be fine if my food was even remotely warm, but that hasnt been the case for either of my visits. Our food took a very long time to come out, which would have also been fine had the food came out hot, so i am wondering why it took so long to send out cold food? Also, for some reason there was a strong odor of some sort permeating through the beer hall. I couldnt place what it was but it was not pleasant for me. I feel like i am rarely sensitive to smells but i had to spritz a perfume to mask it. It might've just been a cleaning product or something, not sure. Something to note is that you have to pay for the banchan here. This is typically served with your meals for no additional cost as they are considered 'essential' to your meal. So a charge for them was surprising for me.
