Came here with friends, and we had a great experience! The atmosphere was really nice, cozy, and perfect for enjoying a warm bowl of ramen. The staff was super friendly, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. Parking was surprisingly easy to find, with convenient street parking nearby. Definitely a spot we'll be coming back to!

This is a cool, little ramen bar on a bustling strip...and I enjoyed their Spicy Dan Dan Ramen, with Shrimp Tempura on the side. However, I've had several better versions of Spicy Dan Dan Ramen. For starters, the meat portion was really small...and the beef wasn't cooked long enough. In fact, all of their ingredients felt a bit minimal...as I've had other versions of Spicy Dan Dan with a much more generous meat and toppings. Also, the sauce was good...but could have been a touch spicier as well. So...yeah, while the ramen was good, it could have been much better. Also, the Shrimp Tempura was good...but a bit short of great. I did appreciate how they added Takuan to this appetizer dish. Despite some disappointment with the foods, I did enjoy this dining experience overall. Also, the service was good. I may give them another try...should I revisit Durham in the future.

Glad I got to try the newest ramen spot in town! Kiichi is conveniently located on 9th St, with lots of free parking nearby. I got the Tonkotsu Ramen (homemade pork bone broth, pork chashu, woodear mushrooms, bok choy, bamboo shoots, spring onions, seaweed, and egg). Overall, it was good & satisfied the craving. I appreciated the tenderness of the chashu, but the depth of the broth's flavor could be deeper and the egg was not super jammy. Relatively fast service, fine ambiance. 6.5/10 would recommend!

My family and I were in town to tour UNC and Duke and to take in a UNC lacrosse game. We were staying at a hotel close by Kiichi Ramen and walked 5 minutes to the restaurant from the hotel to grab dinner after a long day. It was incredible. Extremely tasty food that was brought to us very quickly and with personable, kind and friendly service. We loved getting to meet and spend time talking with Helen, the owner. She was so sweet to our son about his unstoppable appetite as a growing, 17-year old and didn't flinch when he ordered a second helping. Please go enjoy a meal at Kiichi! And make time to meet Helen. We highly recommend.

Fast service, and super cute decorations. Ramen was delicious. Love the neighborhood- full of life, but parking can be tricky.

I will be the first to admit that I have a genuine bias when it comes to ramen shops. Having lived in Japan for three years with the Navy exposed me to some genuinely amazing ramen craft. To date, I've only experienced three ramen shops in the U.S. that lived up to their heritage from Japan. I wanted to say that Kiichi was another to add to that list... especially since it's just 20 minutes down the road, but my first experience was a resounding meh. The service was exceptional and they were very attentive to my visit. Also, super fast getting the ramen bowl served. The restaurant vibe is simplistic, but a genuine nod to the heritage. The food quality was where I felt there could be improvement. The ramen noodles themselves did not have the texture and chew that I was seeking, the broth tasted a little... wanting, but the other ingredients seemed fresh and well done. All in all... I'll give it a few more chances to establish a better exposure, but right now I can't really give it my whole hearted endorsement.

Great little gem on 9th street. I was lucky enough to find street parking (there are also parking lots available...some of them may be pay). I met my friend here Wednesday afternoon for lunch. We were greeted promptly by a very sweet lady who took us to a table and took our drink order (just water.) The decor was absolutely adorable...little white cats everywhere. I loved it! And the fans hanging from the ceiling were a nice touch. The nice lady came back quickly and answered our questions. Bestie got the chicken curry ramen and I got the special, katsu curry with shrimp tempura. Bestie said that hers was delicious. Mine was pretty amazing as well. The curry was flavorful and spicy, the rice cooked perfectly, and the shrimp tempura were the best part. There were not a lot of people there so I didn't feel crowded and it wasn't loud at all. I have a feeling that when all of the tables were full though, it might be both crowded and loud (it's not a very big space). We were able to sit and talk for almost an hour. We went to the front to pay. Our dishes were both $15.99 before tax and tip, which still seems like a bit much but unfortunately becoming more standard. I didn't mind so much because the food was very tasty and it was such a great experience. I would definitely come back if someone wanted ramen.

Kiichi Ramen has the vibe of a Japanese ramen stop. In Japan you order from a vending machine and give your meal ticket to the kitchen staff. This restaurant is laid out similarly. The host stand is where the machine would be. Our server looked to be one of the owners. She enjoyed hearing about our experiences in Japan and hoped our meal here will bring back good memories of our trip. This review says yes. Our takoyaki boat was presented the same way it is when you order from the Japanese street food stall. Our ramen bowls were excellent. The flavor was top-notch and nostalgic. Well done.

The ambience is beautiful and cozy, and the customer service was so warm and attentive. We sat upstairs in the izakaya during happy hour (Tuesday). The standout for me was the crispy tofu bao bun. The sauce in it was SO good, I honestly wish I had ordered more, especially since it was only $4. We also tried oysters for the first time (they were around $1.50-$1.99 during happy hour), and they were surprisingly delicious. We tried a few grilled skewers, shrimp, eggplant, and tofu, which were good, but not my absolute favorites of the night. The best was the egg sando. It might sound simple, but it was incredible, honestly tasted just like the ones I had in Japan, if not better. And the fries?? Perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. My new favorite fries in Durham.

There was no wait as I was the only person inside although they were working on orders for door dash and phone orders but even still I had maybe a 10 minute wait at most. It was very quiet as I waited, no TVs or anything like that inside making noise. For my tamen I got the spicy Malay ramen which was very good, very full of various toppings and meat etc. the broth had a good spicy heat as well. My only complaint would be they the ramen was pretty lemongrass heavy and I'm not a super big lemongrass fan but if you are you're gonna love it!

The location was great and the restaurant itself was cute with IG worthy background. The staff were patient, helpful, and really nice. I ordered the spicy beef rib soup with hand pulled noodles, you literally watch them make the noodles through a small window. The soup was hot and flavorful with a hint of spice. They are not stingy with the rib I got 3 big pieces and had some to take home. I also tried the Bang Bang bun. That was equally as tasty. The bun was soft m, shrimp was crispy and the cucumber added a nice crunch. I ordered the pickled radish but it wasn't my favorite. It wasn't bad but not what I'm use to when I think of pickled radish. Overall I t was worth the hype!

I think it is a shared lot because the restaurant was pretty empty during my visit today. i have visited twice now (jan 2026 & may 2026) and i order a decent amount of food for the table to share. Both times, every plate has been room temperature. Thats super disappointing especially since the Korean dishes we ordered are typically served very hot (and in clay pots). It would be fine if my food was even remotely warm, but that hasnt been the case for either of my visits. Our food took a very long time to come out, which would have also been fine had the food came out hot, so i am wondering why it took so long to send out cold food? Also, for some reason there was a strong odor of some sort permeating through the beer hall. I couldnt place what it was but it was not pleasant for me. I feel like i am rarely sensitive to smells but i had to spritz a perfume to mask it. It might've just been a cleaning product or something, not sure. Something to note is that you have to pay for the banchan here. This is typically served with your meals for no additional cost as they are considered 'essential' to your meal. So a charge for them was surprising for me.

The restaurant's unique handmade paintings on walls and other Philippino decor was very eclectic and cool. Lol The place was packed and we were walk ins but the owner was at the reception desk and told us to wait and she might be able to find us a table. We were in luck and she directed us to the back room. The server was extremely knowledgeable about all the dishes. Since I had my Philippino friend along she told us what she liked as well as the helpful server. The food was delicious and had a beautiful presentation. What I ate I can't pronounce so look at my pics of the menu ;) I had a bowl w beef filet, onions, tomatoes, cucumber lining the bowl w Jasmine rice and a fried egg on top.
