I had another better known local ramen shop in mind, but saw the reviews and that this place had an interesting vegetarian selection, so I decided to give it a shot. It wasn't crowded, but it was doing a lot of takeout for a ramen spot (generally a food best enjoyed fresh). The mala ramen (a mix of spicy and tingly sensations) that I sought delivered on the premise. It was a fascinating flavor mix, with some harsh notes that would be a discovery for those that haven't had mala before working well because of the balance of salty and savory flavors and some nice greens and sweet corn. It was unique and I enjoyed it. They had some appetizers and things that I wasn't hungry enough for, but I did wash it down with tea. It was a very reasonable price given how the hipster ramen market has gone. And they had enough menu options that returning would be worthwhile. I ended up going to the other local ramen place anyway the next day, and I would say that both were really good. You can't go wrong.

This is the spot of the old sister Lou's kitchen (sp). Cozy spot in between phon 919 and Georgina's. The menu was nice and readable, aka not prohibitively big. We started with the edamame (my bell weather for food), which was super fresh, salty and large. Very good. Next we had the fried gyoza. Very crispy with a nice dipping sauce, also very good. For ramen, I had the spicy mala ramen. It had nice heat without being too oily. The shoyu ramen looked good, but didn't taste it... not really a sharing dish, lol. Our server was nice, the food was fresh, but still fairly quick, so with that and being full without being too full is nice.

UPDATE: When Kinoko pivoted to become ramen oriented instead of sushi, I examined their menu for offerings since I am not really a ramen person. I found solace in their Sukiyaki Beef Rice Bowl. This one really brought me back over and over. This bowl was delicious with lots of tasty beef, rice (cooked perfectly to eat with chopsticks), and veggie components. It had many different presentations but always great and my fave here. Notice I use past tense in my descriptions...well, in the last few months the Sukiyaki Beef Rice Bowl is no more here. First I noticed it marked out on the menu then on other printed later versions, just gone. Servers have said they do not see it coming back. I am disappointed. However, I have tried their other rice bowl selections in the meantime. In getting the Chashu Rice Bowl with braised pork, it did not do the trick for me like the beef bowl did. I do enjoy their Karaage Rice Bowl now with marinated chicken (however, fried) with the accompanying sauce and spicy mayo really making it special. Again, the rice is so perfectly cooked. I enjoy their fried gyoza as well (but again, wish maybe there could be a steamed version offered) and their veggie spring rolls. So even though disappointed with the disappearance of the Sukiyaki Beef Rice Bowl, I have enjoyed their Karaage Rice Bowl as well as some appetizer selections here after the menu change.

I've gone to this place a few times for lunch! It's quick and affordable and the food tastes great! It's always flavorful and you can't beat the lunch prices. I've recently gotten into Ramen so I don't have much to compare it to but it's delicious. The service is always friendly and the restaurant is small inside and quaint but nice.

Love this place! Ordered the fried chicken appetizer. It came with four piping hot, well-seasoned wings. It didn't come with any sauce, but it didn't need any. We ordered the shio ramen and the Kinoko black ramen. Both were flavorful with a rich broth. The chashu they came with was tender. Service was great, and the place was nice and clean. Would highly recommend this place!

They just opened last week, and everything was running smoothly. For lunch today, I chose the Kinoko Black, which was very good! It had smoky undertones, flavorful pork, crisp vegetables, and lots of curly noodles. My friend ordered the Spicy Mala. He likes very spicy food and said that this felt mildly spicy to him, but it was still very good. They'll bring chili oil to the table if you want to raise the spice level. The restaurant was small, clean, and bright, and the service was friendly and efficient. Prices were quite reasonable, especially compared to other ramen places in the area.

Sunday night and looks like it's a good time for to go for locals. We enjoyed the place to ourselves; service was attentive! The Tonkatsu pork was especially reminiscent of Ramen from Japan. Yum we'll be back

The shio chintan ramen was light and delectable. The flavors were subtle. What really stood out was the meat. The chashu is tender and a little smoky, among the best I've had at any ramen restaurant around here. At $13.50 per bowl, it's more affordable than some of the other ramens I've had in the Triangle. It was enough for two meals' worth for me. Ambiance was nice and the server was not very attentive. I like it enough to come back sometime. Also, the takoyaki is a must-try! The fish flakes added subtle flavors to the creaminess inside the takoyaki.

This may be my shortest review yet. This place is inside of a big food court right outside of Raleigh, and they are tossing straight fire out of that kitchen. It was a fusion restaurant but I didn't bother with exploring that side. I decided on a quick picker upper by getting their karaage bun. The karaage was absolutely freaking DELICIOUS. The whole thing was hot, crunchy, full of spice and flavors that all hit you at the same time. This karaage bun was exactly what I wanted and they delivered. Check this place out if you're hanging in the food court, it's worth it!

Third time in 2 weeks! My son and I love coming here! Today, he got the chicken karagge and I got the vegetarian ramen with an egg. The vegetarian broth was lightly rich and the egg was perfectly cooked. The tofu was fried and added delicious texture to the overall soup! Come and try this new place in Morrisville! You will love the wonderful food and great service! Not intrusive at all and prompt. Just FYI: Decor is on minimal side, though I really don't care much a decor. There's 4 TV screens as well, playing various things and not all are family friendly (not R, or MA rated) just not things i would let me 8 year old kid watch.

Excellent ramen, especially the curry ramen! We were there at lunchtime and didn't have a long wait for our meals.

Best ramen in the area…read more We are from Southern California and we finally found a quality tonkatsu. This pork broth is one of the longer broths to make and you can tell they did it right. Great service, quick and happy to serve! They do not skimp on amount of food either. The price you pay here is great compared to west coast. Lots of thick pork, charred, and lots of noodles and toppings. High quality blended chili oil was also a surprise. We'll be back! I ordered Spicy #2 but I think a great order is to try the tonkatsu regular and the spicy #3, order the side of chili oil! Thanks team! Very good job

Nice little shop, fun artwork on the walls themed to the store, simple counter order and they bring it out when ready. Unfortunately for me, they had a lot of options I wanted to try, we ended up with the edamame, some pork belly cheese fries, and since it was warmer we went with rice options instead of ramen. I got the tonkatsu rice bowl and she got the Japanese curry rice bowl. Between the appetizer and the meal we were both unable to finish and I enjoyed it the next day as a left over. They have a great self service option for take away containers which I appreciated, except my skills of 'dumping from bowl into container' were less than stellar. While we probably won't be back often as they're a 45m drive from our normal haunts for a 'whats open after 8pm on a Friday' they were a welcomely pleasant surprise and quite good.

Noodle Blvd is located in a spot that you could easily miss, but it's easy to get back on track. I pulled into the gas station parking lot beside the restaurant, then just turned right into the restaurant parking lot. The parking lot is fairly small, so be warned about that. My friend was there when I arrived, and he sat at the bar. When I walked in the door, I was greeted with smiles and waves. It was very inviting, which is fitting for a ramen restaurant. My friend ordered us Lychee Margaritas, and oh my goodness, it was so good! We decided to visit right at opening on a Saturday, so the bartender was still preparing some of the ingredients needed for the margarita. The bartender informed us that it's usually better once a key ingredient sits for a while, but I loved the drink regardless. I ordered edamame for an appetizer, which came quickly and was good! Since I've never had ramen before, I asked our server what he recommended, and he told me about some of their most popular dishes. He told me the N9. Chicken Curry Ramen was a favorite of his and the patrons, so I decided to order that. It came quickly, and I was immediately in HEAVEN upon my first bite. I loved every bite after! I decided to play it safe with the spice and got level 2, but I can definitely go up a level or 2 since I love spicy. Highly recommend, and I will be back! The short rib ramen was good, but the noodles were short, like they were cut or made short on purpose. The shrimp shumai was disappointing. Small bite sized portions, but they were soft. After cutting into one, I found out that they use rice as a filler with a bit of shrimp. I've never seen rice used in shumai, unless it's Shanghai sticky rice shumai. Also got a unagi don togo, it was good, just a bit small on the portion of eel, but it's hard to mess up an unagi don.

The broth had great depth, the spice provided a nice kick, loved all the different toppings but I do think there could have been more pork. - Tonkatsu Ramen (Signature rich pork broth, pork belly, bamboo shoot, wood ear mushroom, green onion, 1/2 seasoned soft-boiled egg, thin straight noodles): Same great broth as the tan tan, chashu was perfectly fatty and tender, liked all the toppings again. The noodles themselves didn't really stand out to me. - Chicken Teriyaki Bento Box (Dashimaki, shrimp shumai, salad, pickles, rice, miso soup): Ehh... this was fine, but I'd definitely skip it next time. For the price, the quantity and quality of everything but maybe the chicken (which was smoky but way too sweet) was lackluster. - Chicken Curry Don (Panko breaded chicken cutlet, Japanese-style curry sauce, potato, carrot, onion, nori): The chicken was crispy, but quantity was so small. Curry was tasty, but inadequately warmed. - Raindrop (Plant-based ice jelly, brown sugar syrup, soybean powder): Such a unique dessert- ofc the visual is great, but the texture was interesting and it was subtly sweet too.
